EKKL-Kalundborg Airport X VFR Photo Scenery Download

File Description:
Kalundborg Airport – named Kaldred is a small regional field in a comfortable distance from my other FOTOREAL airport EKRK-Copenhagen Airport Roskilde. In the period 1964-76, airfield operations was yearly 15.000-20.000, and in 1976 the heavier aircrafts with retractable gear made it necessary to change the Runway surface from grass to asphalt. In 1981, the closure of Skovlunde Airfield in the Greater Copenhagen Area moved traffic to other locations like EKRK-Roskilde, and investments was made to improve service and facilities at EKKL to attract new customers, being a the perfect hub for aircraft operations to many of the small Danish islands. For many years post and News papers were daily transported by road from print in Copenhagen to Kaldred and flown to EKSS-Samsø (my last released airport). Today six Air companies reside in Kaldred, together with Kalundborg Flyveklub. Visit Kaldred, and be sure you will get a warm welcome, and as they say in Kalundborg Flying Club, there are always coffee in the clubhouse. Included in the zip file is a version for Ultimate Terrain Europe and Dan-Vfr plus the Default scenery. Enjoy.

RAF Scorton Download

File Description:
RAF Scorton was opened in October 1939 as part of 13 Group Fighter Command and a satellite station of RAF Catterick. It was located near the village of Scorton in North Yorkshire. It was used by the Royal Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the United States Army Air Forces Ninth Air Force during the war. The location was chosen for its flat terrain and its situation close to the now disbanded Eryholme-Richmond branch line that had a sub branch line to Catterick Garrison and RAF Catterick. The famous No. 56 Squadron RAF flew Spitfires from Scorton during the Second World War. Also the USAAF 422d and 425th Night Fighter Squadrons were stationed at Scorton flying the Northrup P-61 "Black Widow" fighter. The Aerodrome closed in 1945 and most of the concreted areas have been extensively quarried away for sand and gravel extraction. Most of what was the airfield is now under a lake or a quarry. There are a few military pre-fab buildings remaining in the area – they were dismantled after the war and moved to local farms to be used as agricultural buildings. Source:Wikipedia

EBOS Oostende/Brugge International Airport, Ostend, Belgium (includes modified twy signs!) Download

File Description:
These files are for the FS9 default. The "AF2_EBOS_DF.BGL" file is based on the Microsoft Virtual Earth aerial photography (via "Flash Earth"). It is an extensive modification of a file by Jean-Philippe Delwiche (merci Monsieur!). The "EBOS_twy_signs.BGL" file corrects the taxiway sign positions and content, and the exclude files prevent any default scenery from obstructing the airfield. Because I like the interesting variation and "East meets West" feel of the Oostende traffic, I like to pass through once in a while. Therefore, it is important to me that the layout is at least proportionally genuine, and a better reflection of reality than the default. My thanks to Jean-Philippe Delwiche (aka JeePee) for his kind permission for my use of his work. Also, thanks to Jan Martin for his guide to taxiway sign editing, which I hope I have used to good effect. This release complements my Air Charter Express and MK Airlines flightplans well.

Mahlon Sweet Field - Eugene, Oregon (KEUG) Download

File Description:
KEUG - Mahlon Sweet Field - Eugene, Oregon. Eugene, home of University of Oregon, is located at the South end of the Willamette Valley, at the confluence of the McKenzie and Willamette rivers, about 60 miles (100 km) East of the Oregon Coast. The airport is the fifth largest airport in the Pacific Northwest, providing commercial air service to a six-county region in mid-Oregon. This package is a modest enhancement of KEUG based on the Afcad originally created by Reiley McKendrick. Included are minor corrections to his afcad, excludes which remove objects from the taxiway area leading to the NEW 34R/16L runway and numbered jetways at the main terminal. All required files and textures are included. This enhancement is designed to work with the default FS2004 scenery and is offered as a basis for further enhancement. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary folder and follow the simple installation instructions. Compiled for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

Braathens SAFE Douglas C-54A Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
In 1946 and 1947 the newly established Norwegian airline Braathens South American & Far East Airtransport A.S. purchased for its medium- and long haul operations on charter basis four ex-USAAF Douglas C-54A Skymasters. Three of them had been converted to DC-4 standard by Texas Maintenance Company (Temco) at Fort Worth, Texas, and featured on the starboard side an enlarged emergency exit. The fourth C-54A was purchased from KLM. Around 1950 the Norwegian authorities concluded that Braathens' operations got increasingly a structural character, read: scheduled, operations and as such became a threat for Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) which was a conglomerate of "state" airlines of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. SAS received all concessions for the international scheduled routes, which meant the end of the use of the Temco converted C-54A's. These are textures only. You will need Jens B. Kristensen's FS2004 Douglas DC-4 & C-54 (DC4_V30.ZIP). Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.
