Tutorial: Making Panels, Part 4 Download

File Description:
FS2004 Tutorial: Part 4- Making panels with Xara and Paint Shop Pro.

Most of us modify panels at some time or another. If understanding more about panel construction catches your interest, then this 4-part tutorial can help get you started. By building a panel from beginning to end, graphic techniques will be illustrated in a step-by-step, easy to learn approach. They will teach how to make the structural components of a panel and wrap them in simulated 3D effects to achieve near-photographic realism. By Glenn Copeland.

Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum Gauge Download

File Description:
FS2004 Gauge: Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums (RVSM). This small gauge with a scrollable window is designed to give quick reference to all authorized VFR and IFR altitudes (to FL 590) based on the track of an aircraft. It also displays vertical separation requirements at each altitude. Magnetic tracks are monitored and and the active sector is indicated inside the West/East sector windows. The gauge is simple in operation with only two scroll buttons. The display screen is laid out to present all data in an understandable manner and to retain readability even at small gauge sizes. For panel or separate window installation with included icon gauge. By Glenn Copeland.

Call Sign Nameplate Download

File Description:
FS2004 Gauge: Call sign nameplate, the one gauge that should be in every cockpit. This gauge will automatically display the ATC call sign for an aircraft up to seven characters. The plate looks great when mounted on the padded trim around a panel. The example graphic, InstallExample.gif, shows the nameplate in the Lear 45.

sRadar80 Navigational Radar Download

File Description:
FS2004 Gauge: sRadar80, navigational radar- This nose-mounted, forward-scanning radar will display simulated echoes from ground-based targets that will assist navigation. Screen blips represent FS objects located within the simulator world. With six ranges available (2nm-80nm), cross-country radar navigation and low visibility approaches are possible (see pictures). Scan sensitivity (GAIN) allows adjustments to minimize screen clutter. On-screen wiper scan, push-to-display nm scale, plus many other features. For panel and window installations with included icon gauge. Also, tutorial illustrating a radar approach using the features of sRadar80. By Glenn Copeland

Altitude Alerter Gauge Download

File Description:
FS2004 Gauge: Altitude Alerter with Sound- This small gauge will active both a visual and audible alert with message (English) to remind you when the aircraft climbs/descends through any altitude from 100' to 50,000'. Altitudes can be quickly set to desired value. After activating an alert, gauge switches automatically into STBY mode and awaits next altitude setting. By Glenn Copeland

Tutorial: Gauge Graphics, Part 1 Download

File Description:
FS2004 Tutorial: Gauge graphics, Part 1. This comprehensive article describes methods for simulating gauge bodies, data windows, controls, and panel cutouts. Shadows, transparencies, text, beveling, feathering, contouring, textures, illumination, plus a host of other techniques are detailed. Over 300 illustrations were used to show how the graphics for an example FS gauge were created. The demo gauge is fully functional and available separately for D/L, file PatGauV1.zip. FS2004 Plotting Tutorial with fully-functional, free software Download

File Description:
FS2004 Plotting Tutorial with fully-functional, free software. Tired of Flight Planner calling the shots? Now you can plot waypoints, courses, and bearings to any point desired using the charts inside MSFS. This illustrated, 14-page tutorial shows how to easily measure distances (nautical miles), magnetic/true headings, or bearing to/from navigation aids. Also, how to use the software to obtain accurate panel.cfg coordinates for gauge installations on any aircraft panel.

Satellite Assisted Landing System Version 9 Download

File Description:
FS2004 Gauge: Satellite Assisted Landing System, v9 (SALS). Using satellite data, this gauge provides glidepath/glideslope guidance into all runways inside the FS world. Approach heading and glideslope indicators are displayed during the landing phase in a fashion similar to those used with ILS and requires the same piloting techniques to keep the needles centered. Because SALS has the ability to guide an aircraft to both ends of a runway, every airport including grass strips and seaplane bases can be accessed with a high level of landing precision. In case of missed approaches, backcourse guidance is provided during climbout. Panel or separate window installation. Includes SALS icon gauge and Word doc with illustrated design parameters. Louis Armstrong New Orleans Intl Airport (KMSY) Scenery Download

File Description:
New scenery for New Orleans Intl Airport (KMSY) This scenery includes New Terminals, main parking garage, airport roads, fire station, overflow parking, an Airport Hotel, and new cargo ships in the Mississippi River. It also includes numbered jet ways that correspond to my AFCAD2_KMSY.bgl file. I also included a LandClass scenery file that adds more trees and grass areas to the ILS 10 approach. The new scenery makes for more realistic landings, especially at night.

KMSY Fix Download

File Description:
This (KMSY_GV4.zip) Scenery update corrects the "building crash" issue that some flight simmers have reported when parking by Gates B9 & B19, and taxing to Terminal A. TO correct the problem, I have completely rebuilt the terminal B with new textures. I have also added some nice new scenery details to KMSY. I have added new Departure and Arrival ramps, plus new static cars & taxi cabs on the road to airport.
