Aloha Air 1998 AI Flightplans Download

File Description:
By 1998, Aloha Air was down to operating 737-200s, having ditched the 737-300s and 737-400s that they flew earlier in the 1990s. The 737-200 would remain the mainstay of the inter-island fleet until the shutdown in 2007. Impressively, every one of the airlines' high frequency routes was daily. The arrival of the 737-700s and flying to the mainland USA would come a little later. The airline would eventually fail in 2008, after a hike in fuel prices and competition from Mesa Air Group's iflyGo! forced the airline into hardship. In it's history, Aloha opearted 63 different 737-200s. Some of them lived on as the company re-organized into the much smalled "Aloha Air Cargo" which is around today. The 1994-2008 livery on the FAIB 737-200 by ImpulseAI may be found on Avsim as "ai_aloha_airlines_faib_b732_oc.zip".Flightplans by Chasen Richardson as part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. LJSceneGen V 1.0 Download

File Description:

LJSceneGen is a scenery creation utility for the Microsoft (MS) Flight Simulator FS9 (aka FS2004 or Century of Flight). The program presents a series of forms where various options for VORs, NDBs, Exclusion Rectangles, Markers, Waypoints and Scenery Library objects can be entered. The program will try to connect FS9 via FSUIPC or WideFS. If a FSUIPC connection is found, the location (Lat. Long. and Alt and others if available and appropriate) will be automatically retrieved. You can also move the aircraft to a new location by entering a Lat. and Long. pair and clicking "Move Aircraft".

Multiple combinations VORs, NDBs, Exclusion Rectangles, Markers, Waypoints and Scenery Library objects can be saved and each saved object can be edited. After all the desired objects are created, an XML file can be created. This file can be submitted to the FS2004 SDK BGL compiler "BGLCOMP.exe". A file with an extension of .BGL will result which you then place in your Addon Scenery/scenery/ folder to view your just created scenery object(s) after you restart FS9. This or other properly formulated .XML scenery files can be imported and reviewed. For example, the FS9 file NVNAMC0.bgl can be decompiled, imported into LJSceneGen and then viewed. Alessandro Antonini's excellent BGLXMLdecompiler program makes possible the conversion from NVNAMC0.bgl. to NVNAMC0.xml which can then be read by LJSceneGen. (This file is available at Alec's site: http://www.cpinf.net ). Each VOR and NDB found in this decompiled xml file can be reviewed and if you want, you can move your aircraft to the object's location by clicking "Move Aircraft".

This program is written in MS's C# language using .NET framework 1.1. The CLR .NET Framework 1.1 must be installed on your computer before the program will run. The freeware version of Pete Dowson's FSUIPC is not supported. Users should be very familar with the FS2004 scenery SDK. This version only knows VORs, NDBs, Exclusion Rectangles, Markers, Waypoints, and Scenery Library objects. It doesn't yet know about Airports Runways ILSes etc. This is not a "What You See Is What You Get" program but instead takes a semi-automated fill-in-the-blanks approach. The program is a scenery creation utility. As such, inexperienced scenery designers may not find it user friendly.

Kotzebue PAOT on the northwestern coast of Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
There are four main northwestern Alaska towns which have good airports and are serviced by Alaska Airlines. From these airports local flights connect to nearby villages, "nearby" in Alaska meaning up to 150 miles away. The northernmost is Barrow. Southwest of Barrow is Kotzebue, then Nome, and the furthest south is Bethel. The town of Kotzbue is north of the Bering Strait on the northwestern coast, 320 miles southwest of Barrow. The population is just over 3,000 people. The location was for a long time a base for trading in furs, with three rivers emptying into the sea and providing routes into the interior land and villages; a meeting place between hunters and traders from Russia and elsewhere. The Kotzebue airport is called the Ralph Wien Memorial and has two runways. The modern one is aligned 08-26 and is 5,880 feet of 150 feet wide asphalt built across a shallow lagoon, with an ILS on 08 and PAPI on both ends. The second and older runway is originally military and gravel, aligned 17-35 and 3,786 feet long and used (wind allowing) by the GA planes that park alongside the runway. The prevalent wind is from the west; when the wind is from the east it is generally relatively feeble and with a much lower cloud base, possibly to the ground, hence the need for an ILS. All AI aircraft in FS9 much prefer to use a runway that has an ILS and so will continue to use 08-26 even if the wind is from the south until it reaches 30+ knots, even if they are a Cessna 150 flying VFR. So for AI realism in FS9 a northern or southern wind needs to be a strong one so that the runway is actually used. However, as Alaska Airlines, Northern Air Cargo, and Everts Air also fly to Kotzebue and can only use the east-west runway (as less than 4,000 feet of asphalt would be seriously inconvenient for a Boing 737 or DC6) it is necessary to have the northern or southern wind UNDER 30 knots at the times when they are landing or taking off. Your choice. I suppose a permanent strong wind from the west would be the most realistic on a daily basis, deterring all planes from ever using 17-35. The AI will develop along with further scenery additions in the neighbourhood.

EETN TALLINN X DEMO features an extremely detailed scenery of EETN Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport in Tallinn, Estonia, fully compatible with FSX, FSX:SE, P3Dv1, P3Dv2, P3Dv3, P3Dv4 and FSW. It's a fully functional DEMO version of the commercial payware product. It features same airport layout as in the full version but with limited 3D objects and low resolution textures. Using this free demo ensures no problems with online (VATSIM, IVAO, multiplayer etc.) flying in case some users use the payware scenery and some don't. Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport (TLL / EETN) is the largest airport in Estonia and home base of the national airline Estonian Air. The airport has a single asphalt-concrete runway that is 3070 metres long and 45 metres wide (large enough to handle wide-bodied aircraft such as the Boeing 747). It's equipped with an automatic installer, which means that the scenery will be automatically added to the Flight Simulator Scenery Library. Please uninstall all previous versions of this airport you may have installed before. Please make also sure that no duplicated AFCAD files are installed. P51B #43-7061 'Old 7' Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the P-51B/C model for FSX by Warbirdsim. It shows 'Old 7', 43-7061, which was the pride and joy of the 2nd FS/52nd FG. It flew over 125 operational missions, amassing 778 flying hours and shot down at least 8 enemy aircraft, without suffering a single mechanical failure. It was lovingly maintained at first by S/Sgt Vincent Reagan, and later by S/Sgts James Lynes and C.G. Jones. By december 1944, it was the oldest aircraft in the 2nd FS, and it remained so. The officers and men of the 2nd FS were so proud of 'Old 7' that they tried to have her sent to the US for a warbond tour, but the Air Force was not interested. During its long career, it served as the regular mount for Capt. Arthur Johnston (who named it Marie and flew it as QP-M), Capt. William DeForest (when it was changed to Myrtle and QP-7) and Lt. Thomas Hoover, as well as several other pilots. Repaint by JanKees Blom, based on the warbirdsim paintkit.

PADL - Dillingham - Alaska, USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Dillingham is a town with a population of around 2,300 at the southeast corner of the Bering Sea in Bristol Bay, 70 miles west of King Salmon. The town's economical well being is based on the commercial price of salmon and the numerous surrounding sport fishing lodges. FS9 shows the town as way more extensive than it is; the landclass textures correct this. The airport is a mile west of the town and has a single runway 6,400 feet long and orientated 01-19. There are scheduled passenger flights by Alaska Air (numerous in summer and non-existant in winter) and PenAir (year around) plus cargo flights by Everts and Northern Air Transport, and local scheduled flights by Grant Air; the AI includes these, plus GA. The GA gravel apron is behind the main apron and across a road, which is unusual. The parking on the asphalt apron is marked; in actuality there are no markings but landing at a field in FS9 that doesn't have a control tower leaves one wondering where to go; the six spots at the far northern end are unused by AI and free for visitors.

NRAO - Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:

The VLA or "Jansky Array", managed by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) consists of 27 independent radio telescope dishes, each with a diameter of 82 feet and weight of over 200 tons. Each antenna is found along the three arms of a track shaped in a Y configuration measuring 13 miles long. Using the rail tracks that follow each of these arms the antennas can be physically relocated to a number of prepared positions. At one point, the arms intersect with U.S. Route 60 which passes right through the middle of the array. It has been featured in numerous films, such as Armageddon, Independence Day, Terminator Salvation, a Bon Jovi music video, and was featured most prominently -and correctly- in the Carl Sagan novel Contact, as well as the film of the same name. Also updated is the closest airport to the VLA - Magdalena, NM - N29. It's a small dirt strip a few miles to the east, between Socorro and the VLA. It serves as a nice staging area for flights to the VLA. Includes a helipad startup location with NM99 ident. Scenery by Jason L. Terry.

For FSX Acceleration.
