Well, most of you probably have used a couple of different detail1.bmp textures either for FS9 or FSX. Many of those seemed to be aimed at achieving a grassy look. With this texture however I have tried to create a more alround yet more detailed look that will work on pretty much any terrain, whether you fly over mountains, farming fields or beautiful forests.
I've kept the texture size at 1024 x 1024 simply because I think it blends in better that way with the underlying default textures. And even with high quality addons I prefer this specific texture to enhance the underlying textures, I don't feel it should dominate it.
I'm an avid virtual bushflyer so I find myself flying over natural areas most of the time. So with that in mind I didn't try to create this texture for urban areas, however I don't think it looks that bad over cities.

KEUG Mahlon Sweet Airport, Eugene, Oregon. This is a comprehensive enhancement which includes removal of the crosswind runway, new ground covering for the airport property, the addition of many hangers and buildings and a wealth of other eye candy which brings the airport to life. We believe you will enjoy "driving" around the airport as much as landing there!
This work is based on the recent update by David Marshall of the KEUG afcad by Reiley McKendrick and information from the airport website. Default objects were used where possible as well as items drawn from the EZ and RWY12 libraries. This enhancement works very well with the default FS2004 setup, and an alternative afcad for those who have Ultimate Terrain USA has been included. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary folder and follow the simple installation instructions. Compiled for your flying enjoyment by Ray Luning in collaboration with David "Opa" Marshall.

| Beaverton CBV2 and Beaverton North fields near Lake Simcoe, Ontario, Canada |

File Description:
The town of Beaverton is on the east shore of Lake Simcoe. Just a bit over three miles to the east of the town is Beaverton airfield CBV2, with a grass runway 12/30 that appears to be 2,100 feet long, rather than the listed 2,400 feet. The field is new enough to be omitted from FS9, and though there are plans to build hangars I don't know if anything has been built in the year since I last saw it, so the only buildings here are farm-related. The second field to the northwest is Beaverton North, which is privately owned. It has 2,000 feet or so of grass runway and a large hangar (or storage shed?) and that about sums up all I know about it. There are two airfield scenery folders, two landclass files to provide the grass airfield areas, and a third landclass folder that modifies the terrain around Beaverton CBV2.

| Talkeetna Village AK44 in Alaska, home of Don Sheldon's Talkeetna Air Service |

File Description:
Talkeetna is around 75 miles north of Anchorage in Alaska on the east shore of the Susitna River. The town is where Don Sheldon got off the train in 1938, and where, ten years later, he started Talkeetna Air Services. There are two airfields in Talkeetna, PATK with its long asphalt runway and Talkeetna Village AK44 in the middle of the town. This is AK44; the default FS version with Ultimate Terrain installed had the runway half in the river, but there is still space for the 900 feet of runway that is described in the book "Wager With The Wind" that tells Don's story. The result is a step back in time to 1973, when the second hangar was built. If you also want to install PATK do a search. I have partially populated the village with cabins, and UT is probably required for the river to be there; I haven't tested this without it.

| Frozen rivers and lakes for winter ski operations along the Canada/USA border and Alaska |

File Description:
This "freezes" lakes and rivers in a wide strip along both sides of the Canadian and US border and part of Alaska (and is reversible with a tick in the FS9 library) and can be landed on with skis or wheels for winter operations. The area covered is from east of Quebec City to west of Calgary and Edmonton, with an extension north to cover Hudson Bay, so from from 70 west to 100 west and 40 north to 56 north (65 north in the Hudson Bay area). This includes large parts of Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, and most of North Dakota and Montana, and the Alaska north shore and around Anchorage.
This is really for use with Ultimate Terrain, though it will work without it. But as UT is what gets all the lakes and rivers there and in the right place it would be a shame not to be using UT.

AI Tall Ships sailing on Long Island Sound - A gathering of ten vintage AI Sailing Ships near Fisher's Island, New York. This scenery features incredibly detailed AI Sailing Ships modeled by Ron Jeffers, Pierre de Rotalier and Mike Hill. The project includes a replica of the Pequod - Captain Ahab's whaling ship in the epic novel "Moby Dick". Eight of the ten ships make twice daily trips around Fisher's Island. There is also an animated naval rowboat which makes short demonstration runs daily. With one exception, all required files are included. This scenery has been tested with Ultimate Terrain and the FS2004 default environment. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the simple, illustrated instructions. Then sit back, watch the seas come to life and relive a little history. This package works very well with John B.Loney's Elizabeth Airport - 0b8_v1.zip - available here. | Beaver Creek CYXQ 1.1 |

Version 1.1 adds the missing door on the ground side of the terminal building. It is complete and does not require that you already have the previous version.
Beaver Creek CYXQ is a small airport in the northern Canada Yukon Territory, near the Alaskan border. There is a customs facility located on the Alaska Highway adjacent to the airport. There is an NDB located on the field, but no published instrument approaches. The single gravel runway is 3740'long.
This scenery was completely redone and features a custom photoreal terminal and custom runway/taxiway lights. The adjacent customs facility is included but is not based on the real one as I had no photos to work from. The custom runway lights are always on, even during the day...sorry, this is an FS9 limitation.
This scenery was designed for use with Ultimate Terrain and was not tested in the default scenery. It may or may not work in FSX.

Founded in 1860, Williams Lake is located in the beautiful central British Columbia region known as the Cariboo. With a population of about 11,000, Williams Lake is the largest urban center between Kamloops and Prince George. The airport has one 7,000' (2,100m) runway and is served by Central Mountain Air and Pacific Coastal Airways.
This complete rebuild of CYWL features all new taxiways, aprons and buildings, an accurate custom terminal building, and the usual fences, trees, ramp objects, etc. Many thanks to Shawn Lund, Air Attack Officer, BC Wildfire Management Branch, Kamloops Fire Centre, for the photos of the terminal building and his permission to use them. Included are the Nav Canada aerodrome diagram and the two instrument approach plates. (These approach plates are out of date and obviously NOT for real world use.)
This scenery was designed for use with Ultimate Terrain and was not tested in the default scenery. It may or may not work in FSX.

FSX Flight Plan for OB-27 Ashland ME and Fort Drum NY IFR high speed low altitude military training route. This is the fifth in a series of flight plans I will be uploading in the near future. This route goes through both flat and rolling and mountainous terrain in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York. These are great routes for B-52, F-111, B-1B, B-2 A6, A4, Vulcan and any fighter or bomber enthusiasts. Of course you can fly the route with any aircraft of your choice. Included in this package are two spectacular gauges by Karol Chlebowski for TFR flying and Pave Tack which includes many advanced features for bombing, navigation and reconnaissance. These two gauges will greatly enhance your ability to fly these challenging routes and are a great companion of the flight plans. Another option to download Version 2.1 of my mini panel which has all this functionality and more.
