FS2004/FSX/P3D Project OpenSky V4 Northwest Orient Cargo N618US Boeing 747-251F(SCD) Download

File Description:
(TEXTURES ONLY)
(ONLY TESTED IN FSX: STEAM EDITION)
This was requested by Carl Lyndon Nepomuceno on Facebook.
If there is a tutorial online on how to make bare metal textures, I would totally make it by hand. Unfortunately there are none, and I mean like nothing at all. There was no complete tutorial or video on how to make that said texture, so I used AI to create one. I still have to sort a lot of things out like removing some of the belly and the back. There are also limited sources, both for references and decals. I made the "NORTHWEST ORIENT CARGO" Text using a Helvetica font from Fontsgeek, made my own letter "S" and used it for my livery. I had a previous version where I just used the text from a high quality Flickr photo, removed the background and added color. The references are limited for the "NORTHWEST CARGO" Livery specifically, as it seems like there are only 2 available photos of N618US with that exact livery. One in Facebook and another from Flickr (if I can remember). I also am not sure if the "CARGO" Text is a very dark shade of blue, or just black. If someone could verify that it is black, feel free to contact me so I can change it!
After this, I'll make the N800FT and N801FT liveries, but I would still have to make the JA822J 787-8 "Old Livery" of JAL.
The Livery 2 is the livery in 1977 while Livery 1 is 1979, so I may have accidentally switched it! But it is too late now...
Instructions and more information are included in the readme file.

Burke Lakefront Airport (KBKL), Clevland, Ohio Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
File Description: This airport was made using Google sketch up 8, Airport Facilitator X and Instant Scenery 2. Burke Lakefront Airport is a general aviation airport located next to Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. I have made custom 3D buildings using Google sketchup for the airport. This update makes it so that all the buildings will show because some people were having problems with the buildings. All the buildings have photo textures to make it closer to real life. The update also makes it so that the airport ICAO is not included in the airport name and an installer program is included. I put static aircraft on the ramp, airport vehicles and more fuel trucks. I added more parking and fuel spots. I also made a parking lot full of cars. If you choose to start off at a DOCK gate, you will start off inside one of the custom hangars. Starting off or taxiing inside of a hangar will cause a crash (unless you have crashes turned off). I added a helipad located near the FBO. I have also included the aviation high school, that is located at the northeast, and boats that are right next to it in the water. There will be more objects at the airport if your scenery complexity is set to normal (such as vehicles, aircraft, and fuel trucks). Tower view is from the roof of the control tower. This was all made based on Google Earth satellite imagery and Bing Maps. There are no night textures for the custom buildings. These will be added in a future version. Please read the readme for instructions on how to install. You do not need the original file for this update to work. This is for flight simulator X only. By Tyler Lawrence.

9A8 - Ugashik, PAII - Egegik, AK96 - Bartletts, AK36 - Coffee Point , Alaska, USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
All four of these depend heavily on fishing but two of them only spring into existance during the salmon catching-and-canning season. Grant Air run scheduled flights to the two permanent settlements, and there are irregular scheduled flights and charters to the others according to demand. Ugashik is a permanent settlement 60 miles northeast of Port Heiden, stretched out along the east bank of the Ugashik River. There are two canneries, one old and collapsing and the other newer and functioning. The population is given as 12, though during the season this increases significantly. The (newer) airfield is at the northern end of the village with a gravel runway 3,500 feet long aligned 06-24. Egegik is the second permanent settlement, 45 miles north of Ugashik and 40 miles southwest of King Salmon, on the east bank of the Egegik River. The town is on a corner of land, with a population of around 110 and two operating canneries. The airport is a mile and a half south of the town with two gravel runways, 12-30 at just under 5,600 feet and 03-21 with 1,500 feet; both are lit. On the other side of the Egegik River are more canneries and two airfields, both of which have two runways but are otherwise entirely without facilities or luxuries such as lights. They are called Bartletts (named for the cannery it serves) and Coffee Point (named for the location). The shacks of the seasonal fishermen are strung out along the coast and a lot of the salmon fishing is by net, laid by a small boat and later pulled ashore for emptying. Only one cannery on the west shore has a docking facility for unloading boat-caught fish.

Puntzi Mountain CYPU in British Columbia Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Puntzi Mountain is near a village called Chilanko Forks, approximately midway between Bella Coola and Williams Lake and just north of the Chilcotin to Bella Coola Highway. It is what remains of a military base and which currently shows in FS9 as a town, reduced in my scenery version to what remains after the base was closed and cleared. All that remains of the base is now the runway, over 6,000 feet of asphalt aligned 04-22, unlit, at 2,985 feet above sea level, and with centre line markings that are almost invisible. The runway is used in the summer for whatever local fire-fighting operations are needed by ConAir and there are some buildings and fuel tanks for this. It is also used for local flights such as those for a lodge on Puntzi Lake to the north. I have added three AT-802 textures with additional tail numbers for use in the AI. These are to be added to an aircraft that you very likely already have and which was included in Don Grovestine's posting of Abbotsford CYXX. I have also included the revised config file that adds the planes to Don's original; save the original config under another name and replace it with mine. Put the three new texture folders in with the original, which is called "CYXX-AI_Air Tractor AT-802 (Wheels)". If you do not have Don's scenery I suggest you get it, as his work is worth having and like Greg Putz he puts in a lot more effort than I do. The L188 Electra should already be with you if you downloaded my Smithers CYYD scenery. If you find a defect, email me.

Nanisivik CYSR and Arctic Bay CJX7 in Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Nanisivik is an airfield in the north of Baffin Island, 470 miles north of the Arctic circle. It was built to service a zinc and lead mine that was opened in 1976 as Canada's first Arctic mine, now closed and dismantled. The deep water Strathcona Sound has been ear-marked by the Canadian government for development as a naval base, so I have left the large ore storage shed and the jetty in place. The airfield is at 2,106 feet on the top of the Borden Peninsula hills with a lighted 6,400 feet of 150 feet wide gravel runway runway aligned 11/29. There is a terminal and other maintenance buildings, and First Air have a building there from when the mine generated a lot of traffic and jets were used. Arctic Bay is a village 11 miles west of Nanisivik airfield with a population of around 690 which also uses the Nanisivik airfield. There is another gravel strip much closer to the village that is called Arctic Bay CJX7, but this is smaller with only 1,500' of 50' wide gravel and has no facilities of any sort. The village is partly dependent on visiting sports hunters and other limited tourist visits. At almost 73 degrees north the average year will have only four or even three months where the average high is above freezing. The buildings on the field have been modelled specifically for this scenery, and as in real life there is only JetA available. The AI visiting aircraft are a Kenn Borek Twin Otter and a First Air 42-300. As Nanisivik is in the "Northern Domestic Airspace" the runway is signed in "true" bearings and not magnetic as magnetic compasses become unreliable close to the magnetic pole.

Kiwi360 (KiwiFruit Country)- Custom buildings, helipad, Hi Res photoreal, Aerius R22 Repaint. Te Puke, New Zealand Download

File Description:
Kiwi360 (formally know as Kiwifruit Country) is a theme park based around the Kiwifruit (AK.A Chinese Gooseberry or Zespri- The trade name) which is a major export of New Zealand grown predominately in the Bay of Plenty Region. The park is situated about midway between Tauranga and Whakatane, about 5km east of the township of Te Puke. The Bay of Plentys sunny climate ensures good growing conditions for the delicious fruit and has also spawned a mini tourist industry of tours of the orchards and sorting/packing/coolstores. These include tourist flights by Aerius (http://www.aerius.co.nz ) using a Robinson R44 helicopter. This scenery was made after a visit when carrying out a GPS survey: I took a few photos and whacked it up. It isn't perfect but will be useful for flights in small helos (I.e. Robinson R22, R44 or Hughes 300/269). It includes the famous giant Kiwifruit slice, the helipad next to it; the main Kiwi 360 building; a large coolstore/packhouse and the backpackers next to the park. It also includes a lot of library objects (especially trees- If these are adversely affecting performance, you can disable this bgl) This is placed on a high resolution aerial photo provided by Environment Bay of Plenty. The scenery also has reflection maps and night maps for those who like getting up at the crack of dawn or simulating frost protection work (although I don't believe the pad is certified for night operations in real life). The download also includes a repaint of the default Robinson R22 in the colours of ZK-HJZ (in actual fact an R44) kindly provided by James Eden from the ARNZ Forums (see the readme for the .cfg entry to add this repaint) This helipad isn't in controlled airspace but Tauranga Tower is nearby and will need to be called before entering their airspace (above 2500ft LL for the CTA or within about 10nm of Tauranga for the CTZ) Radio procedures are carried out on Christchurch Information 125.5 for flight following/planning.

P-47D 324th FG/ 316th FS #86 "Black Sheep" Download

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Shockwave World War II Fighters P-47D Thunderbolt, representing the aircraft flown by Lt Jerry Wurmser of the 316thnd FS/324th FG, in France and Germany, between 6 march 1945 and the end of the war. He is still alive, and told me: "The name "Black Sheep" was already painted on the plane when it was assigned to me. It previously had been assigned to someone in Britain, and eventually ended up in France after either being shot down or having crashed and then repaired. It had a brand new engine in it when I received it on March 6, 1945. At this time I had already completed 39 missions, and finally was assigned my own airplane. My first flight in it was to break in the new engine, or "slow time" it. This required flying it about for a period of time at very low throttle settings, to break in the new engine. The plane had already seen a lot of action, and the "form 1" contained a long list of malfunctions that was written up by the previous flyers and dates of repairs. Several times I had to sign the "exceptional release" form before going up, acknowledging that I knew and understood what the previous pilot stated what was wrong with it. This plane was a razorback, with the tail assembly out of line, so that I had to apply rudder correction constantly. It got such bad gas mileage that I carried one less bomb and a gas tank instead. I hated that plane. I finally did get a new bubble canopy plane, but by this time the War was over!" Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on two repaint kits, one by John Terrell and one by Shockwave. Included is a 1024 x 1024 bmp repaint, which should work in both FS9 and FSX.

American Airlines Boeing 787-900 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Boeing 787 is one of the most sophisticated aircraft ever designed, and I have worked on several FS models from even before the real aircraft was ever built. I have accumulated so much data relating to this plane that I can now incorporate real world dynamics for it based on extremely realistic information. The aircraft offered here has been modified to offer all of that realism. In the real world, the 787 is flown primarily with autopilot controls, and this model is no different. It doesn't take a lot to fly this plane, and if I were to be offered the challenge I think I'd be up and flying within a few minutes, in a real 787. Because of this, I offer no advise other than normal flight rules. If you are new to FSX, please learn through the on-board tutorials. I am not a tutor. I do not have anything to do with cosmetics. I do not design panels. All I do is help educate you about the realism of aircraft design. You can look at the aircraft.cfg and the .air file (Airfile Editor Required) to see what I've done in comparison to the original model, but I will not really help you with tutorial related issues. If you find something you think is wrong, let me know. Otherwise, enjoy this model and fly her like the real thing. Everything I've done here is for educational purposes without any expectation of any monetary gain, and offered publicly for free. What I offer here is protected by the Fair Use Doctrine of International Copyright Law, and you are free to study this as follows: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/107 All persons involved with this and the original design are credited, unless they are unknown and have offered no credit details. LIMN Cameri, Italy (UPDATED v2) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This scenery is a homage to the great military airport of Cameri NO, Italy; it has been revised with complete new ground that solves the previous flickering problems; it is builded-up with ownmade GMax objects and other existing ones; some buildings by GMax, remainder by others and by Generic Building system.

Information: Built during 1910 close to Novara, it became a prestigious Flight School where a lot of pilots of WWI where trained. Later, Gabardini/CANSA entered by promoting and developing aviation activities, mainly establishing a military flight school. On 27th July 1914, first of story's time, a flight from Cameri crossed the Alps (Camery - Viege, over Monte Rosa) with a Gabardini 80HP aircraft and pilot Achille Landini together with Giuseppe Lampugnani passenger. On 1930 the school closed, but the field still remained as aviation workshop. During the WWII the airport was quite destroyed by the german army, during their retreat. After the war, the rebuild operations carried on to Cameri several details, of which the acrobatic patrol of "Lancieri Neri" and, 1967-1999, the great 53th "Stormo Caccia". On 1998 the storm was moved to Gioia del Colle airport and the base was restructured as Comand Airport, where some technical departments still works (the 453th Operative Technical Services Group, the 553th Logistic Operative Services Group and, mainly the 1st Aircrafts Maintenance Dep.nt)

Contents: all around new great terrain for about 4.5 x 3.5 km; static aircraft inside hangar as Tornado, Eurofighter and historic monoliths at admittance and inside airport; ground equipments, cars outside and inside airport, bus, tankers, emergency trucks; military shelters (10) and workshop ones (5); buildings outside/inside airport, control tower, VOR, radar tower and some other navaids; lights at hangars, admittance and all over the boundaries; more then 10 km boundary by walls and fences of the complete areas; thousands trees all over the scenery. This scenery includes the airport scenery content only. You can find separate further sceneries for Babini Army station and Museum

8AK7 - Bullen Point - Alaska North Slope 7 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The town of Barrow is in the far north of Alaska, and these are coastal villages or radar installations to the west, south, and now east of Barrow. There will be further additions. Bullen Point is a DEW station Air Force base 240 miles east of Barrow and 75 miles east of Oliktok. The runway is just under 4,000 feet of gravel and aligned 05-23; this is approximately at right angles to the default FS9 alignment and how that came about is something I doubt Bill Gates could explain. Most of the DEW buildings have now been removed (including the large hangar, which is unusual) but as I had a layout I made the whole site as it was originally, way back in the days when the north slope was still a wilderness. The AI is one day a C-130, on another a Cessna, and on a third a DC3. When I started this North Slope series it was my intention to create the full monty and make all the oil and gas installations and Deadhorse airport etc. I have come to realise that the oil side is impossible to make. There is so much of it and each bit is as time consuming as Heathrow while the actual airfields are more like Rockcliffe CYRO, so a lot of effort for what is just background to an adjoining airfield. But at the same time, if I make the new airstrips it is impossible NOT to make the oil installations as they are the dominating feature. So no new airstrips, and this is going to be just the 1960's or 1970's, when the oil business was only exploratory and the airfields were for villages or DEW stations, and Harmon Helmerick had his dirt strip on the Colville River estuary and was guiding hunters and fishermen and had just started to help out Sinclair Oil with oil exploration in 1966. Read his book. Download my previous post of his field.
