Akulivik CYKO in northern Quebec Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is another of the many airfields that are all around the coast of Hudson Bay, this one being on the eastern, Quebec side. Akulivik is around 110 miles south of Ivujivik, which is on the northeastern corner of the Bay, and some 60 miles north of Puvirnituq. The population is 630 or so and the village grew from a move back to the area by one family in 1973, followed by others in the following years; the closure of the Hudson Bay trading post post in 1952 had pushed all residents to move south to Puvirnituq. The village is unusual in that it has a built harbour instead of the usual beached storage of boats. The village is built on the central prong of a three pronged spear of headlands (from which the village name is derived) while the airfield is a mile or so further inland. I have no information regarding what I think may be a new terminal building, so this includes only the old original one. The runway is just under 3,500 feet of gravel aligned 09-27, and the ai includes the scheduled flight by an Air Inuit Dash 8-300, plus GA.

FSX/P3D/FS2004 Saturn Airways DC-6B 1963 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of a DC-6B in Saturn Airways 1963 colors. The freeware CalClassic DC-6B by Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. Saturn was founded in 1948 as "All-American Airways" and, as a supplemental carrier, it flew cargo and tour flights. It's main business was with the U.S. military. In 1964 it got the authority by the CAB to operate tranatlantic flights. Then, in 1965 AAXICO, a major military contract supplemental, submerged itself into Saturn. Tragically, two DC-6s were lost in accidents in January 1967, of which one was fatal. Later that year, Saturn became a public corporation. The fleet by 1968 comprised of DC-8-61s, DC-8-55Fs, DC-7CFs and DC-6As. In its first year of Jet operations they got a 49% increase in revenue. By 1971 Saturn was the 5th largest U.S. supplemental, and in 1972 they received their first of 12 Lockheed L100-30 Hercules. In 1974 Saturn got into merger talks with Trans International, and posted its largest net profit ever with gains of $4.9 million. The two airlines' application for the merger was approved by the CAB in 1976. Thus, on November 30 1976, the company merged into Trans-International Airlines (TIA). This repaint is of DC-6B N90770, which flew for them from 1961 to 1964. Textures are 32bit bmp. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX & P3D v1-3. It should also work on FS2004.

RNAS Anthorn (HMS Nuthatch) - Cumbria, UK Download

File Description:
This scenery is a representation of RNAS Anthorn (HMS Nuthatch) prior to runway and taxiway upgrades completed in 1948. It is not 100% accurate and no claim is being made that it is. The scenery was made using ADE and is intended for use in FSX along with Horizon GenX VFR scenery but should work ok in Basic FSX.

Some History: Anthorn air field (also known as RAF Anthorn, RNAS Anthorn and HMS Nuthatch) was an airfield approximately 430 KM north-northwest of London The airfield was built in february 1918 as a Fleet Air Arm (FAA) airfield. It was abandoned after World War I ended, however. The RAF reinstated the airfield at the beginning of World War II as an emergency landing ground for nearby RAF Silloth. The site was taken over by the Royal Navy in December 1942, and renamed the site RNAS Anthorn. It was commissioned in September 1944 as 'HMS Nuthatch'. The airfield served as No. ARDU (Aircraft Receipt and Dispatch Unit), a unit that accepts aircraft from their manufacturers and prepares them for operational use.
The last official flight took off from the airfield in November 1957. It was then put on Care and Maintenance, before it closed down in March 1958. In 1961 the site was chosen to become a NATO VLF transmitting site for communicating with submarines. Construction of the site, by Continental Electronics of Dallas, U.S.A., began in 1962. The station was accepted on behalf of the MoD in November 1964.

FSX/P3D Aloha Airlines DC-3 circa 1958 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the DC-3 in Aloha Airlines colors. The freeware DC-3/C-47 v3 by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Aloha was founded in 1946 under the name of Trans Pacific Airways. With a single DC-3, they offered passenger charter and cargo services between the islands of Oahu, Maui and Hawaii. On February 11 1949 they officially became a scheduled service airline. Their main rival was Hawaiian Airlines, and in 1957 they changed their name to Aloha Airline to better compete against Hawaiian. In 1959 a modern F-27 joined the fleet, which forced the retirement of Aloha's aging DC-3 fleet by the mid 1960s. They also introduced the Viscount 745D in June 1961. BAC-111s were acquired in 1966. However, the British made airliners had limitations in the very humid environment of Hawaii, and in 1967 Aloha ordered 2 Boeing 737-200s with a further 6 in 1968 to replace the BAC-111s. The 737s were destined to become the workhorse of the airline, with over 60 being used by Aloha over the years. Their iconic "Flower Power" livery was unveiled in 1969, and was reintroduced in 2006 on one of their 737 as a retro livery. Due to heavy financial problems caused by various factors, Aloha unfortunately ceased operations on March 31 2008. This DC-3, N2804D, was leased by Aloha in the late 1950s. Textures are DDS DXT5. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX & P3D v1-3.

Ghana Airways 1998 AI Flightplans Download

File Description:
Ghana Airways was only 6 years from the end of a long history in 1998. A pair of DC-9-51s flew around West Africa, sometimes on 6-stop flights, while the 2 DC-10-30s(one of which was still in the old livery) flew to New York and the 3 routes remaining in Europe. Though based in ACC, ABJ seems to have had more flights and destinations from the DC-9s. One of the DC-9s was destroyed in a crash landing 2 years later and the airline never recovered, shutting down in 2004. A single Fokker 27-600 was operated by the Ghana Air Force as "Ghana Link", a regional subsidiary of Ghana Airways, in full Ghana military colors. I have included that aircraft with representative domestic flights as flights were not listed on the schedule. Links to repaints included. Part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. Vietnam Airlines 1998 Download

File Description:
Vietnam Airlines was the flagship carrier of Southeast Asia in 1998, offering the only longhaul flights in the Vietnam region. The 767-300 was the flagship at the time, serving some major Asian cities as well as Europe and Dubai. A320s did most of the intra-Asia flying while the ATR-72s and Fokker 70s stayed within the Vietnam\Cambodia area. The flightplans called for 1 extra 767 and Fokker 70, and 2 extra ATR-72s which I have segregated in case you wish to delete them. Michael Pearson has done all the paints. I have included a "version 2" or "v2" paint where he has been kind enough to give us 2+ variations for a livery. If you wish, just assign 1 texture to both to save space. I have included the filenames to all the paints in the "Read Me". Flightplans by Chasen Richardson as part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. Follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/flightsim98. Cyprus Airways 1998 AI Flightplans Download

File Description:
Cyprus Airways had an impressive route network in 1998, however, the vast majority of destinations are served only 1-2x weekly. Still, even with a small fleet, you'll see Cyprus Airways all over Europe and the Middle East, and even in Syria at the time! The airline routed many flights through both PFO and LCA, so there are dozens of weekly flights on the short hop between the two airports. Cyprus Airways was also rather unique at the time by choosing to serve multiple airports in metropolitan areas. For example, in London, Cyprus served LGW, LHR, and STN. In Milan, Cyprus served both MXP and LIN. Cyprus Airways was only operating the A310-200 and A320-200 with no livery variations. Flightplans by Chasen Richardson.
