File Description:
Founded as a gold town in 1936, Yellowknife is now the capital city of the Canadian Northwest Territories, and its airport, CYZF, is the busiest airport in northern Canada. Located only 250 miles south of the Arctic Circle, it is also subject to some of the harshest and most dangerous climate conditions in the world.
This version features:
*All ramps and taxiways completely redone to be more accurate
*All default buildings replaced
*Realistic Gmax models of the main terminal and tower, the First Air, CAF Squadron 440, and Buffalo Airways hangers
*Static aircraft for the First Air, CAF Squadron 440, Air Tindi and Buffalo Airways ramps
*Visual models of the arrestor cables on the main runway
*Fences, ramp lights, cargo, ground vehicles and all the other details that bring an airport to life
*Modular construction. The main buildings, ramp objects and static aircraft are in separate files and can be selectively deactivated to improve frame rates.

Version 3.0 model for FS2004, with improved flight dynamics, more accurate model and more details in the virtual cockpit. Model by Jens B. Kristensen. For FS2004 only, FSX users should download DC4_V30X.zip instead. First release had a texture error, this is corrected here.

The "E" which adornes the sides, is for excellence. The VF-2 of this era was known as the Flying Chiefs. The Flying Chiefs were a squadron of non-coms (Navy Chiefs) pilots. Requires DC3BUFFA.ZIP to be installed first. A new DC-3 aircraft, C-FLFR, in passenger configuration. Updated textures for C-GPNR (cargo), minor texture updates for C-GWIR (pax), landclass files and enhanced airport scenery for both Hay River and Yellowknife, including an AFCAD file for CYZF; plus, the medivac airstrip of Pine Point, between Hay River and Fort Resolution. Also recommended: panel update DC3BUFF2.ZIP. Aircraft textures by Mark Beaumont based on Jan Visser's originals, all other improvements by Curt Yardey.

CFS2/Brewster F2A-2 (Buffalo) Serial #3 B.U. 1391 NAS Miami, Florida 1942. Painted over thicko's F2A-3 Model. This aircraft was rebuilt from an F2A-1 and was designated as a fighter trainer. The tail wheel is in the fixed position as it was while still a F2A-1. Because the MDL does not support it, the starboard detachable gun and camera mount, as well as the fixed tail wheel, is not displayed. Also note that the prop is black with tri-colored banded tips. The overall color is in a neutral gray. By revev. Enjoy!

File Description:
This 1942 Dakota (c/n 12591, p/n 42-92755) was registered as CF-TEB with Trans-Canada Air Lines in September 1946, serving until 1961. She remains operational today as Buffalo Airway's C-FDTH. Based on Jan Visser's legendary DC-3 model for FS2000, updated for FS2002, this model includes transparent cockpit and cabin windows, nightlighting, lit 3D interior with opening passenger door, boarding ladder and other details. Includes FS2002 lights fix by Paul Pridmore. Default panel and sound.

FS2004 Curtiss C46 VC And Failure Model, v2. For the C46 Curtiss Commando aircraft by Libardo Guzman Garcia, Greg Pepper, and Tom Gibson (GAC46V2.ZIP). This is my Version 2 and it supersedes my previous uploads (c46bflvc.zip, c46bflfix.zip, c46bfl_up.zip). It adds a virtual cockpit similar to the Buffalo Airways C46 cockpit as well as pilot induced and random failures/damages through gauges originally developed by Charles Owens for the DC3C (most failures) and by Robert Graf (carburetor icing and oil consumption) for the DC-6. These gentlemen together with Gunter Tesons RealEngine_v14 have really made flying piston aircraft a lot more interesting. The frequency of random failures can be adjusted between "never" and "certain" but you always have to watch the engine limitations, carburetor icing, and oil consumption.
Further gauges by other authors are used or have been modified or have been developed by me. Version 2 increases the number of failures (engine, fire, leaks, systems, equipment, instruments), and introduces an improved upper overhead panel, an abbreviated interactive checklist on the panel, and reduced braking in rain, snow and freezing rain. Version 1 is not required for Version 2. See the C46BFL ReadMe V2.txt for further details and credits. This scenery is of the Hay River (CYHY)NT, Canada Airport located on the Southern side of Great Slave Lake. This small busy airport is an important part of the moving of freight and passengers to the North. During the spring and fall when the ice roads are not passable and the waterways cannot be used these Northern airports are vital to get the essential into Northern communities. Buffalo Airways is a great user of this airport for moving freight and passengers as well as operating a fleet of fire fighting tankers.
