| RAF Bovingdon EGWX 1955 |
|
File Description:
Bovingdon was a London airport of some importance and used as an alternate by (at least) BOAC and Pan Am after the Second World War, partly because its elevation of just over 500 feet made it less subject to poor visibility than London Heathrow. It had been built for RAF four-engined bombers near the village of Bovingdon in Hertfordshire and was used by Bomber Command from June 1942 but transferred to the US Eighth Air Force in August. They only flew operational missions with B-17s for a brief period and after that it was employed for crew training until September 1944 when it became the base for the European Air Transport Service. It was returned to the RAF in 1947 but handed over for use by civilian airlines while retaining significant military roles. The RAF Fighter Command Communication Squadron was based there and in 1951 the USAF assigned the C-47s of the 7531st Air Base Squadron to it, though other USAF types visited in large numbers on a transitory but routine basis. The USAF left in October 1962 but the RAF remained there until the airfield was closed in 1972. This scenery recreates Bovingdon, with period traffic, as it was in 1955.

| Aeroworks Railroad Valley 2013 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Railroad Valley is our oldest scenery project and by far the largest. It was originally released for FS2000 and version 2 was used in the Battle of the Airlines 2003 online race. It is a follow on to our series of fictional airports and surrounding areas that we call Flight Centers, such as our popular Malibu Flight Center 2. Included in the package is our centerpiece - Flight Center 3 at Echo Canyon and Flight Center 4 at Lunar Lake. Flight center 3 is our prime military headquarters, and functions as an aircraft manufacturing and flight test center all in one. It's much like a combined version of Edwards AFB and Palmdale Air Force Plant 42 in real life. Flight Center 4 is loosely based off of the High-technology Aerospace Warfare Center (or HAWC) from the earliest Dale Brown novels. The bases lie roughly 50 miles north of Area 51, Groom Lake, Nevada, and are just outside of the Nevada Test Site and the Nellis Air Force Range. In addition there are many other airports and flying locales too numerous to mention here. Full documentation contained within. Uses over 100 custom scenery macros specifically created for this release. Scenery and macros by Jason L. Terry. Additional Macros by Joshua B Nyhus.

File Description:
Denver Colorado International Airport For FSX. Several improvements have been made to the default airport, those being:
1. A United Airlines commuter terminal has been added to Concourse B along with custom made jetways complete with the United Airlines logo (these jetways are NOT animated).
2. All jetways and scenery objects will display as long as scenery complexity in FSX is set at normal or higher.
3. The vehicle paths have been redesigned so as not to allow airport vehicles to enter taxiways
4. Optionally, all runways may be opened for AI traffic.
5. The land class has been changed in places so as to prevent autogen objects from displaying on the airport grounds.
6. The tower view has been changed to display from the roof of the control tower.
7. Extra fuel trucks have been added throughout the airport.
8. All gates are accurately portrayed.
9. All taxiways are included and are accurately named, and taxiway signs are accurately placed.
Also, there is an option to place several static United Airlines and Southwest Airlines aircraft in designated spots.
This is an improved version of the airport which I first did in 2007.

| PAAQ - Palmer Muni - Anchorage, Alaska - USA |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Palmer PAAQ is in Alaska, some 40 miles northeast of Anchorage on the north side of Knik Arm and beside the west bank of the Matanuska River. It is for both GA and commercial aircraft. There are two apron areas, north and south, separated by the east-west runway. The north apron is for the Forestry Service planes and for resident GA tie-down places and hangars, along with maintenance facilities; the southern end of the north apron is for itinerant aircraft. The south apron is almost entirely for commercial companies and again maintenance. The main runway is just under 6,000 feet long, aligned L16-R34 and asphalted and lit, as is the parallel taxiway A. There is also a shorter and parallel runway that is grass and which receives no winter maintenance. The second main runway is 3,600 feet long and aligned 09-27, asphalt and lit and with a parallel taxiway B, also lit. The airport is undergoing a process of upgrading, which explains the varied colours (and age) of resurfaced taxiways. There are adjustment bgl's for two other neighbourhood airstrips, Toad Lake 24AK and Wolf Track 9AK8, which I just discovered buried in nearby holes in the ground; I also revised their runway surfaces.

File Description:
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) B747-367 Megatop Jumbo, AP-BFY, titled "Ziarat - The City of Flowers". This aircraft, delivered to PIA in 1999, was previously B-HOM for Cathay Pacific Airways. Contains photoreal tail, accurately placed titles and door surround repainted to match the actual airplane. Engines repainted with large yellow stickers on the left side of the casing to match the actual airplane. Being a later model 747, unlike PIA's other 747s, AP-BFY is one without the HF wingtip antennas and a different style wing root and the relevant model has been included. Repainted on the stunning Project Opensky 747v4 Advanced model, with all updates till March 2010. Contains ground service vehicles, stairs, tow truck, catering trucks, luggage loaders and containers painted in standard PIA colors. Luggage containers specially repainted to give a more realistic look. Registration of the aircraft painted on the bottom of the left wing, as on the real airplane. | ARX-5X Coyote, Version 2.1 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The ARX-5X (Concept 5) is a single-seat unlimited category aerobatic aircraft built around the 495c.i. 600hp Trace-Orenda OE600 V-8 aircraft engine and designed specifically for freestyle airshow type aerobatics.
Version 2 has a totally new airfile and flight dynamics - the plane can easily handle compulsory competition maneuvers as well as more advanced gyroscopic maneuvers such as lomcovaks and tumbles.
The ARX-5X cruises around 200kts, with a never-exceed speed of 240kts. This FSX native model contains animations, reflections, environment mapping, spec mapping and a full dynamic virutal cockpit. Although it is not a real aircraft it does have several real-world components such as the Chelton Fligh Systems EAU (engine airdata unit) display, and a Hartzell "scimitar" swept blade propeller.
This release is not a quick & dirty update simply "ported" into FSX, it is a full FSX rebuild by the original authors, compiled with XtoMDL and conforming the FSX SDK using dds textures and new modeling techniques for the best overall end-user performance. Includes 2 configs, 7 models, and 20 schemes with a custom smoke system and night time pyrotechnic effects. Aircraft, effects, and panel by Jason L. Terry and Mike VIvaldi. Aditional Skins by Brady Duros and Joshua B. Nyhus.

| Boeing C-97 Stratofreighter |
|
File Description:
Boeing C-97 Stratofreighter for classic AI Traffic. Derived from the B-29 bomber of WWII, the C-97 served for nearly thirty years as a military/civillian transport, aerial refueler, electronic warfare, and reconnaissance aircraft; with over 900 produced of all types for military use. This model set from Dee Waldron pays homage to the operational life of this important aircraft of military history, and allows you to add it into your classic AI traffic world. This package has two main aircraft, the C-97 and the KC-97. Between them, there are a total of eight models and fourteen texture sets, representing all of the versions of this aircraft I could research. Dee did the original KC-97G/L models, and I added my limited FSDS talent to make the rest. Special thanks to Dee for allowing me to utilize his models for this project, and equal thanks to Tom Gibson of California Classic for giving them to me again when I accidentally deleted them; and for a lot of advice from both of these giants of the hobby. This is a LOD6 model, for FPS economy. Base model and original textures by Dee Waldron; model tweaks, Photoshop paint kit and all included texture repaints by Michael Pearson.

| Backcountry airfields for 19m terrain mesh in Idaho USA series 2 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
These backcountry fields are for use with the FSGenesis 19m mesh of Idaho; they almost certainly do not work without it. The six airfields are a follow-on series to the previous four, ranging from Stanley that has a village and airfield buildings of one sort or another and even a length of asphalt runway, to Bruce Meadows that has two bathrooms. The full list from northwest to southeast is Bruce Meadows U63, Garden Valley U88, Warm Springs Creek 0U1, Stanley 2U7, Graham U45, and Smiley Creek U87. These airfields compensate for the loss of airfield flattens after the removal of AF917150 and AF917160, but there remain some now-unflattened airfields I have not included here, whether for reason of the impossibility of realistically creating it (as in the case of Flying B) or just a total lack of anything interesting about it. There may be some more follow-on fields that are new, to the north of the original four; these six are all to the south. The landclass files either change forested areas, as in Bruce Meadows, or add a village, as in Stanley. Although these are stand-alone, the presumption is that you have already installed the original four for use with the FS Genesis 19m terrain mesh, and there is a correction for Big Creek where I missed spotting a lack of flatten in one area.

| North American P-51D 352nd FG (PE-X) "Straw Boss 2" |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang, in the colors of #44-14111 PE-X "StrawBoss 2", which was flown by Col. James D Mayden of the 328 Fighter Squadron/352nd FG. Born in 1912, Mayden graduated from Kansas State College in 1935. He did his primary and advanced training in Randolph/Kelly Texas and went on to fly P-26's, P-36's, P-39's along with P-40's stateside before flying P-51's overseas.
His first kill occured on November 2nd 1944, and by the end of the war, he had 2 air victories to go with 4 ground kills. Both confirmed air kills were ME-109's. Mayden's wartime decorations included an Air Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Croix De Guerre. He also commanded the 352nd FG from July 1944 to September 1945.
The Colonel's first P-51, a B model was named "StrawBoss", a nickname said to be given to him by his dad. After a gear-up landing accident, StrawBoss was replaced with a fresh P-51D. While the left side of the new mount wore "StrawBoss 2", the right side was painted "Little Sandra", named after crew chief S/Sgt Hubert Robling's daughter.
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.
