W91 Smith Mountain Lake Airport in Virginia Download

File Description:
W91 Smith Mountain Lake Airport near Lynchburg, Virginia (MY soon to be NEW HOME) This project is nearly ALL RWY12 ... I did use the Lago Scenery enhancer for the trees.. so if you have LAgo.. the .SE2 is included, but you really don't need it. But you will need RWY12 with all the latest additions... all freeware and all available here at avsim. Instructions... best to unzip to a temp directory... then do the following.. if you use Lago's Scenery Enhancer... place the .SE2 file in (Your flightsim main folder)\LAGO\FSE\Data. Unziping will create a folder titled "Smith Mountain Lake" .. in that folder is one titled "scenery" Simply place Smith Mountain Lake in (your flightsim main folder)\Addon scenery\ folder then start the simulator.. go to settings, the library.. and - well most all know the drill .... add the folder Spring Mountain Lake then exit.. and restart.. and blamo... it is there... (Hopefully- LOL) ALSO in the scenery folder are two exclude .bgl.. this got rid of the default buildings and an AFCAD .bgl... this modified the airport properity a bit.. just leave all the .bgls where they are in the scenery folder.. all should work well. oh.. for those who use RWY12 for scenery making... I have included the .XML file.. so you are welcome to add..subtract or change anything you find at Smith Mountain Lake. if you have any questions or comments.. PLEASE do drop me a line. Oh.. since I have your attention... a question for YOU... whether you download this scenery or not.... How in the world does one get rid of that idiot "Flying Tips" translucant window that appears.. telling you among other things .. your engines are not started... hit control E ... you ever notice how it ONLY appears when you have set up a screen shot and are ready to shoot?????? Write me and PLEASE tell me how to get rid of it.. I remember reading how somewhere, but for the life of me ..can't remember where.

Spitfire Aerodrome Airport (7N7), NJ Download

File Description:
Located 02 miles S of Pedricktown, New Jersey on 48 acres of land, Spitfire Aerodrome Airport is a public asphalt single-strip field that allows transient craft to tie down on the apron. There are also helicopters based here on this field (note there is no Jet-A fuel available) so the helicopter start location will place you on the ramp.

Although this airport has a beacon, FSX for some reason does not include one with the stock airport file and I can't yet create rotating beacons so it is there and lit at night but does not rotate and is not as visible as the rotating ones. This will be addressed in a later update. Also take note of the layout of this airport, it requires that AI traffic cross the runway in order to taxi to either end for take off. AI aircraft DO NOT hold short when taxiing across runways (this is an FSX limitation), so use extreme caution on approach and departure to avoid any unfortunate runway incursions. Aircraft can fuel up by parking near the fuel truck beside the hangar south of the runway. If you have trouble locating the windsock, look on top of the hangar roof north of the runway. The crashed aircraft in the pond is fictional, there is a distinctive airplane-shaped object there in the satellite textures but I could not determine what this might be from aerial photos so I just crashed a plane there for kicks :)

Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 004. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

American Airlines Boeing 787-900 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Boeing 787 is one of the most sophisticated aircraft ever designed, and I have worked on several FS models from even before the real aircraft was ever built. I have accumulated so much data relating to this plane that I can now incorporate real world dynamics for it based on extremely realistic information. The aircraft offered here has been modified to offer all of that realism. In the real world, the 787 is flown primarily with autopilot controls, and this model is no different. It doesn't take a lot to fly this plane, and if I were to be offered the challenge I think I'd be up and flying within a few minutes, in a real 787. Because of this, I offer no advise other than normal flight rules. If you are new to FSX, please learn through the on-board tutorials. I am not a tutor. I do not have anything to do with cosmetics. I do not design panels. All I do is help educate you about the realism of aircraft design. You can look at the aircraft.cfg and the .air file (Airfile Editor Required) to see what I've done in comparison to the original model, but I will not really help you with tutorial related issues. If you find something you think is wrong, let me know. Otherwise, enjoy this model and fly her like the real thing. Everything I've done here is for educational purposes without any expectation of any monetary gain, and offered publicly for free. What I offer here is protected by the Fair Use Doctrine of International Copyright Law, and you are free to study this as follows: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/107 All persons involved with this and the original design are credited, unless they are unknown and have offered no credit details. KLM 1998 AI Package Download

File Description:
By 1998, the KLM/Northwest alliance was in full swing, and KLM was serving MSP, DTW, and even MEM daily with it's own metal while Northwest took over from KLM from BOS, IAD, and some other cities. KLM had a vast route network spanning the globe, serving much of Africa and the Middle East with many "tag on" routes onward from Amsterdam. By 1998, KLM was flying the MD-11, 747-200SUD(stretched upper deck), 747-200SUD Combi, 747-300 Combi, 747-400, 747-400 Combi, 767-300ER, 737-300, 737-400, and 6 mainline Fokker 100s which were short lived before going to KLM UK in late 1998 then on to CityHopper. Unfortunately, in the OAG, KLM only specified if a 747 was a combi or not(as in 747=744/742 while 74M can be a combi version of the 742,743, or 744) and did not differentiate between 737-300s and 737-400s. I did my best using what data I had to make the routes realistic, but the aircraft numbers at least are correct except for some extra 767s and 737s that you may remove if you wish. I also had issues making sure the TPE flights were all operated by "KLM Asia" 747s, so I ended up assigning 1 extra 747(I have 5, in real life there were 4) the Asia livery to ensure that you do not see a standard KLM 747 at TPE as they did not visit in real life. You may switch this to a normal 747 if you choose. Repaints by Raphael Rodrigues for the AIA Fokker 100 and FAIB 737-300, 737-400, 767-300, 747-200SUD, 747-300, and 747-400 along with flightplans by Chasen Richardson are included. Note that the 747-200SUD uses the 747-300 model. As a Bonus, the KLM Cargo 747-200SUD is also included.Part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. Monument Valley UT25 and Oljato 05UT in Utah USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Monument Valley is an impressive sight in south Utah but not, unfortunately, in FS9. Unless you invest in a detailed terrain mesh there are no stacks of rocks reaching for the sky and the lasting overall impression is just of a desert. But I had already downloaded the land textures so I ended up making the Monument Valley UT25 airfield and the nearby Oljato 05UT, which has no buildings of any sort. Maybe I was bored. There is a lodge close to the field with dozens of cabins, but I had insufficient information so this is for the airfield only. The 4,000 feet of new tarmac is aligned 16-34 and is single ended with a large chunk of rock at the southern end; 16 is only used for landing and 34 is only for take off. The runway is not lit. Do not be surprised when you ask to select a runway for take off and FS9 only gives you 16 as a choice, even though you know this is the wrong one. When you accept it FS9 will quickly switch it to 34; apart from a possible sense of humour I have no idea why it does this. Nothing much to say about Oljato. What do you need? You actually don't need Ultimate Terrain as there are other land textures used here, so you will definitely need to have downloaded and installed the land textures "cny_south3west_2010 lr" and "cny_south3west2_2010 lr" by Gottfried Razek, as these land textures showed the runways in the correct positions. Look in the scenery library here or at the other place. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this (unless you count 4 as many) as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.

Antonov AN225-210 "Colossus" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The AN225-210 is the result of a proposed 1 to 2-year projected modernization program which will convert the current AN225 into a much more useful and capable aircraft than the already infamous Мрія (Mriya) . The latter First flew on December 21, 1988, and is currently 33 years old. There have been a few maintenance periods and 1 major avionics modification, but otherwise is too old for reliable future use. The 2 year process involves reconstructing the landing gear system to support much more weight. The new engines are much more powerful, but lighter in weight, and much more fuel efficient. The wings are replaced with similar wings with more wing-area built of modern light-weight material which gives her higher lift capacity. The cargo hold area is reinforced for heavier weight limits. The crew areas (upper deck, fore/aft main wing) are modernized for long duration flight, and two galleys are included. The fuel tanks (9) now also involve 3 tanks in the upper center portion of the fuselage in order to put less stress on the wings. The pressure system is modernized to achieve 6,000 feet cabin pressure up to FL470. The internal and external lighting is fully modernized, the former for a pleasing effect and the latter for distinct recognition during flight. Overall, the aircraft does not appear different to the common observer. Prepar3Dv4/v5 POSKY Boeing 747SPv4 PBR Conversion Base package Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Project Opensky Boeing 747V4 Classic Series PBR Native Conversion for P3DV4 and V5 is a newly updated conversion of the old top-hit freeware add-on aircraft series that is known to the Flight Simulation Community since FS2002, FS2004, and onwards to FSX and has been loved by thousands of Flight-simmers across the world because of its simple-but-great model, and completely free of charge. But with newer flight simulators on the line under the ESP Flight Simulator Type such as Lockheed Martin Prepar3DV4 and V5, the Project Opensky Boeing 747V4 Classic Series (which was only made for FS9) were slowly falling behind and couldn’t keep up with the current flight simulators today. And now, for the first time in 2022; this newly-updated conversion has surfaced to the public and in the eyes of the flight simulation community. Destined to fly in the current flight simulators of today like Prepar3D V4 and Prepar3D V5, this classic freeware had continued to live on into the new era, bringing nostalgia not only just to those who flown it before in FS2004, but also for a new generation who can relive classic scenes of the Jumbo Jet’s illustrious history through this iconic freeware add-on aircraft series in today’s flight simulator platforms. It finally received an all new makeover! And the permission to convert the models was acquired from the developer who was the mind of the POSKY 747V4 Classic Series: Hiroshi Igami. And he gave our conversion team the green light to do so. Leading to this conversion to surface in the public for the first time. Follow the instructions in the Readme txt file. And read the documentation for more info and the credits on this base package. If you have any questions/comments or any problems while installing this base package, feel free to contact me.

Yakolev 52 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Re-upload following Avsim hack. Quoting from Wikipedia: "The Yakovlev Yak-52 is a Soviet primary trainer aircraft. It first flew in 1976 and is still being produced in Romania, by Aerostar, they gained manufacturing rights under agreement within COMECON socialist trade organisation now defunct. The Yak-52 was designed originally as an aerobatic trainer for students in the Soviet DOSAAF training organisation. That organisation trained both civilian sport pilots and military pilots. Since the early 1990s and the fall of the Soviet Union, many Yak 52s have been exported to the west. Of the approximately 1,800 produced to date, most now fly in the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and other western countries. A descendant of the single-seat competition aerobatic Yakovlev Yak-50, the all-metal Yak-52 is powered by a 360 hp, 9-cylinder radial engine, the Vedeneyev M14P. The aircraft has inverted fuel and oil systems permitting inverted flight for as long as two minutes. The engine drives a two-bladed counter-clockwise rotating, constant-speed, wood and fiberglass laminate propeller. The tricycle landing gear is fully retractable, but it remains partially-exposed in the retracted position, affording both a useful level of drag in down manoeuvres and a measure of protection should the plane be forced to land "wheels up." Curiously the main wheels retract forward into the slipstream." It has has been constructed using Gmax v1.2. The aircraft is constructed with as few polygons as possible and with a single texture file to ensure the absolute minimum impact on your framerates. The model has six LODs. As usual, I have made three different textures for the aircraft. These are accurate textures which also includes the actual registration number of the aircraft as this seems to be what many desire to have. It is designed specifically to enhance the AI aircraft population and to use with the marvellous GA-Traffic programme by Markus Brunner . It is also very flyable as a normal aircraft.
