Antonov AN-225 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This version of the AN-225 is almost too accurate, yet as easy to fly as the real "Dream" it was designed to be. Everything has been incorportated in this version in order to make this the best of the best AN-225 versions for FSX ever produced. This work required well over 50 flight test hours and thousands of dollars worth of research and skill. It's all free, and offered for educational use. Anyone who has flown the previous versions will see a huge improvement in all aspects now offered in this fully refurbished model, based entirely on modern design data and aerodynamic details offered only recently. This model includes all factual performance, weight/balance, and aerodynamic details, and realistic thrust points with high turn radius wheel design. This model is absolutely realist in ever aspect. RAF Elsham Wold Download

File Description:
In the late 1930s with a new war on the horizon, extra airfields were again needed to accommodate an expansion of the RAF. Former First World War stations were surveyed for suitability, and an area just to the west of the original Elsham site was deemed to be better suited. work began in the winter of 1939-1940, and the station opened with the arrival in July 1941 of 103 Squadron. The station was equipped with a main runway 2,000 yards (1,829 m) long, and two subsidiaries of 1,600 yards (1,463 m) and 1,400 yards (1,280 m). Three hangars (two T-2's and one J-Type) and 27 aircraft hardstands (later increased to 36) were built. Three more T-2 hangars were built in 1944. Accommodation for around 2,500 personnel was dispersed in the nearby farmland.

No. 103 is credited with more operational sorties than any other 1 Group squadron, and consequently suffered the group's highest losses. Of the 248 bombers lost on operations flying from Elsham Wolds, 198 were from No. 103 Squadron. By type, losses were 28 Vickers Wellingtons, 12 Halifaxes and 208 Lancasters. One Elsham Wolds Lancaster, Lancaster III ED888 M2 (Mike Squared)[3] which served with both Nos. 103 and 576, held the Bomber Command record for operational sorties, having completed 140 between May 1943 and December 1944.[4] A total of 974 operational hours. Consolidated PBY-5A (ZK-AMP) TEAL Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft PBY Catalina for FSX, representing PBY-5 ZK-AMP of Tasman Empire Airways Ltd. The Royal New Zealand Air Force had 56 Catalina's in all between 1943 and 1953. They were registered NZ4001-4056 inclusive and included 22 PBY-5s (mostly MklVAs) with the remainder being PB2B-1 s. All were flying boats, with no amphibian models being taken on charge. After the war only half a dozen or so of the best aircraft were maintained in service with No 5 Sqn (squadron code became PA-) and fitted with the latest search radar which had a large radome behind the cockpit. The remainder were put into storage. Two PB2B-ls were loaned to Tasman Empire Airways Ltd (TEAL) for short periods after the war, one (which became ZK-AMI) as a crew trainer, the other (ZK-AMP, former NZ4038 PA-J) to survey a flying boat route from Fiji to Tahiti, later to become known as "The Coral Route" and used by TEAL's Solent flying boats. These two aircraft were eventually returned to the RNZAF before being scrapped. I have included two versions, one for P3Dv5 (without reflections) and one for the earlier sims (FSX/P3Dv1-4), with slight reflections. I felt these were too shiny in v5, but feel free to try for yourself. I did paint this aircraft earlier, this paint has been adapted and improved on all fronts.

P51B #43-7061 'Old 7' Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the P-51B/C model for FSX by Warbirdsim. It shows 'Old 7', 43-7061, which was the pride and joy of the 2nd FS/52nd FG. It flew over 125 operational missions, amassing 778 flying hours and shot down at least 8 enemy aircraft, without suffering a single mechanical failure. It was lovingly maintained at first by S/Sgt Vincent Reagan, and later by S/Sgts James Lynes and C.G. Jones. By december 1944, it was the oldest aircraft in the 2nd FS, and it remained so. The officers and men of the 2nd FS were so proud of 'Old 7' that they tried to have her sent to the US for a warbond tour, but the Air Force was not interested. During its long career, it served as the regular mount for Capt. Arthur Johnston (who named it Marie and flew it as QP-M), Capt. William DeForest (when it was changed to Myrtle and QP-7) and Lt. Thomas Hoover, as well as several other pilots. Repaint by JanKees Blom, based on the warbirdsim paintkit.

FS2002 Val-U-Prop Plane and Panel Download

File Description:
FS2002 Val-U-Prop Douglas DC-3 Plane and Panel Val-U-Prop is a (fictional) rogue airline based in Bloomington, Indiana, that flies everything from VIPs to sheep manure anyplace and anytime. VP's motto is "No job too small; No fee too large," and our DC-3's and DC-6's can be seen hedge-hopping into various obscure airports throughout the USA. Based on the lovely DC-3 Pluna by Daniel Gazzano, this aircraft is a re-paint of the fabulous DC-3 OH-LCH by Jan Visser, Erik Ellis, Roy Chaffin, Ian Roper and Bill Rambow, to which FS2002 lights have been added. Panel includes everything on main panel, except for GPS, so there is no tabbing. (Default pop-up radio stack is also included.) Panel is based on photographs by Bill Blanchard (lower panel) and Shawn Clark (upper). The very aluminal wing views were shot by Thomas Andre Hjelmen, and the 1930s cabin was photographed by Ben Wang and is populated with various VIPs. All of this brought to you by Val-U-Prop - where WE VAL-U-YOU! By James Underwood

Grumman Albatross version 2.1 Panel Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FS2004 Grumman Albatross HU-16 version 2.1 Greg Pepper Michael Verlin Panel Package Along with the modifications I've made to Greg Pepper's wonderful Albatross, I felt that a upgrade for the panel was overdue. The changes consist of a revised set of primary flight instruments in keeping with the chronological period. The airspeed gauge is part of Greg's gauge set that he provided with the aircraft. The attitude gauge and turn indicator come from Jens Christensen's DC-6 gauge package. The altimeter, gyro and vertical speed were designed by Scott Thomas from his Aero Commander 500 gauge package. The Bendix King radios were designed by Pierre Fasseaux. The KLN90 gps was designed by Ike Slack. I've also included Rob Barendregt's Ground Handling package and the RKG Fuelstat gauge. A few notes on using this panel: Please read Pierre's instructions for proper operation of the autopilot before you fly. The GPS will load the flight plan you specify from FS9. There is a hot spot in the upper left corner of the radio stack that will close it when it isn't needed. Michael Verlin [email protected] May 27, 2012

B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2242 for The B24 Guy's OH Download

File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2242, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane # 8. Pilot: Capt. Edward J. (Ski) York, Co-pilot: Lt. Robert G. Emmens, Navigator: Lt. Nolan A. Herndon, Bombardier: S/Sgt Theodore H. Laban, Engineer/Gunner: Sgt. David W. Pohl. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Texture, and Damage Files included. Note the three windows in both port and starboard bulkheads. By revev. Enjoy!
