Havana 1962 Scenery

File Description:
This scenery includes Havana as it was in 1962 (a mysterious city of much fascination for me) including El Morro Fortress on its rocky outcropping at the entrance to Havana harbor, the largest such fortress in the Caribbean, and its adjacent lighthouse. In downtown Havana you will see the capital building and several old cathedrals. Near the Malicon sea walk by the beach, you will find 3 famous hotels and former casinos, the Flamingo, the Riviera, and the Havana Hilton. The Havana Hilton opened just days before Castro seized power and nationalized it. When he first came to power he occupied the top floor for some time. Havana Airport opened originally as Rancho Los Boyeos Airport, located just southwest from the city in the village of the same name, which was then mostly farms, small ranches, and tiny communities. The original terminal was a very pretty Spanish colonial building, which the dictator Fulgencio Batista had remodeled in a 1950's cubist-tudor style. It was at the time of this remodeling (1957) that the airport's name was changed to Jose Marti International Airport, named after the famous Cuban revolutionary and poet of the 19th century. Jose Marti Airport was in the 1950s and 1960s the primary port of entry airport for Cuba. Up until the January 1st 1959 revolution many US airlines served Havana, but due to mounting tensions, the crisis of the Bay of Pigs attack, and later on the October 1962 missile crisis, traffic and tourism was ended as the US led blockade of Cuba took hold. By the time of this scenery, April 1962, the once former bustling Jose Marti airport had become quite sedate.

Boeing B-52H CONECT

File Description:
In July 2013, the Air Force began a fleet-wide technological upgrade of its B-52 bombers called Combat Network Communications Technology (CONECT) to modernize electronics, communications technology, computing, instrumentation, and avionics on the flight deck. CONECT upgrades include software and hardware such as new servers, modems, radios, data-links, receivers, digital flight deck and workstations for the crew. Making the B-52 compatible with 21st century flight and combat roles.

File Description:
F-111F Aardvark for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 - After a prolonged development period in which many, many problems had to be identified and fixed, the F-111 turned out to be one of the most effective all-weather interdiction aircraft in the world. Although highly critisized by some as being an unsafe and dangerous plane, the F-111 series of aircraft established the best safety record of any of the aircraft in the Century Series of fighters with only 77 aircraft being lost in a million flying hours (that's hours not miles). There was no other aircraft in service with the USAF which could carry out the F-111's mission of precise air strikes over such long ranges in all-weather conditions. Although the aircraft has left USAF service, it still serves with distinction with the Royal Australian Air Force and may very well continue there until 2020. The original concept for the F111 was for both a USAF and US Navy version. Weight problems led to cancellation of the Navy version in 1968. The F111 was the first swing wing fighter, the first with a side by side escape capsule for the operators and the first able to cruise at over mach 1 without after burning. It was also the first bomber with greater than mach 2.5 capability. The F version has a wingspan of 63.0 ft. spread, a length of 73.5 ft. and is powered by two 25,100 lb static thrust engines with afterburning. Gross takeoff weight is 100,000 lb., maximum ordinance 31,000 lb and internal fuel 5025 USgal. Range is greater than 2500 nm with internal fuel and service ceiling is above 60000 ft.

Northrop F-5B Freedom Fighter Hellenic Air Force

File Description:
This is a superb aircraft I used to fly as a Hellenic Air Force pilot. This repaint is presenting an F-5B Freedom Fighter as it used to fly with 343rd Squadron of Hellenic Air Force, during the '90ties. The F-5 Freedom Fighter was a very succesfull aircraft during its 30 year carrer in HAF as a fighter, bomber, multy role aircraft until the early months 2001 when finaly released by active duty. The project is fully combatible with both FS2K2 & FS9 versions. It is based on a very realistic FS model, with realistic features, made by FSD International. The package contains realistic sounds made by Mr. Angelos Hatzikatakos. A new, based on real photos and diagrams 2D panel, was made by Nick Karatzides who also modified (for FS purposes) the official checklist by Northrop. A VERY completed flight manual (60 pages) which can be read with Adobe Acrobat is included. The panel (combatible with both FS2K2 & FS9 versions) uses plenty of realistic gauges to simulate the real F-5's cockpit. The HUD gauge is made by Mr. Eric Marciano, afterburner flame effects by Mr. Jan Rosenberg and fuel jettison gauge by Mr. Doug Dawson. This "F5B_HAF1.zip" package is for EXPERIENCED FlightSimers and virtual pilots who have a "good feeling" on the controls and do not "kick" the contol stick while flying...It is for people who want to know how it looks to fly with a modern fighter. The package contains visual effects, night lighting, fine looking mechanical parts movement, contrails, realistic gears extracting / retracting etc. Instructions for both FS2K2 and FS9 versions are included.

USAF Lockheed F-80C FT-805 51th FIW

File Description:
Lockheed F-80C-10-LO Shooting Star USAF FT-805,C/N 49-805 "Seductive Shirley", operated by the 51th FIW, 25th FIS based at Kimpo Air Base in December 1950 at the Korean War. 51th FIW was tasked to adquired Air Superiority in the combat area,but had great problems with the aparition in combat of the superior MiG-15, after the 1th November 1950. One pilot of the 16 FIS, 51 FIW(LT Russell Brown) was wrong credited with the destruction of one MiG the 8th November; actually this MiG,flew by the Soviet LT Kharitonov of the 72th GIAP landed intact and safely at Antung Airfield.The explosion sighted by Brown was the impact of the drop tanks in the ground.Actually the first kill by the F-80´s full admitted by the soviets was the 11th Nov-1950,by Clyde J. Whaley(16th FIS, 51 FIW):one MiG-15 flew by the pilot Nasonov(KIA)also of the 72th GIAP.The F-80c had also the triste honour to be the first Jet shot-down by one piston fighter; the 19th Jul 1950 one Yak-9D of the KPAFAC(North Korea Air Force)shot-down with his 20mm cannon the F-80C flew by Howard E. Odell(MIA)of the 36 FBS. The Korean war very costly for the F-80C, 277 F-80C were destroyed, 44 by MiGs(and not 17 as say by the propaganda of the time).Finally, 49-805"Seductive Shirley" was shot down by AAA near Sohung, N. Korea Oct 30, 1951.A ideal plane for flight with the Flight1"Sabre Vs MiG"(Missions and campaign in preparation).

B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2278 for The B24 Guy's OH

File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2278, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #12. Pilot: Lt. William M. Bower, Co-Pilot: Lt. Thadd H. Blanton, Navigator: Lt. William R. Pound, Bombardier: T/Sgt. Waldo J. Bither, Flight Engineer/Gunner: S/Sgt. Omer A Duquette. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Although little physical damage was inflicted on Japan, that day, the Japanese populace was demoralized, as suddenly, the war was brought to their homeland. Texture, and Damage Files included. AFG YS-11m V2.7 JASDF 40th anniversary

TUI Airlines Belgium - Summer 05 (corrected 2nd version)

File Description:
::: Corrected version ::: Representative and accurate charter flight plans for the summer 2005 period, which have been compiled according to the company information for the week of 4th July, 2005. TUI Airlines Belgium (TUB) is the most important charter airline based in Belgium, flying with its own fleet which includes: 1 Fokker 100 (OO-TUF), 3 Boeing 737-400 (OO-TUA, OO-TUB, OO-TUI), 2 Boeing 737-800W (OO-VAC, OO-VAS), and 1 Boeing 767-300ER (OO-TUC). In addition for the summer, TUB is wet leasing two 737's from Futura International Airways, also operating under the "Beauty" callsign. As for all charter company, flights differs from one week to one another but this file comprises its main destinations regularly visited throughout the summer period. B-26K (A-26A) Counter-Invader

File Description:
In the early 1960's, meeting the need for a "counter-insurgency" aircraft, the USAF chosen On Mark Engineering Company of Van Nuys, California proposed the following major modifications to the already existing B-26 airframe: a complete remanufacture of the fuselage and tail assembly, an enlarged rudder, rebuilt and strengthened wings, re-engining with 2,500 hp P&W R-2800-52W engines, larger, fully reversible propellers with automatic feathering and clipped tips, full dual flight controls, two 165 gallon wing tip tanks, a full compliment of airborne electronics and more. This new aircraft was first delivered to the USAF in June of 1964 under the designation B-26K. Later aircraft had their cowlings revised with the air scoop being relocated further back on the cowl. By April of 1965, all forty B-26K Counter-Invaders had been delivered to the USAF. For all effects, gauges, and the excellent A-26 sound package by David Copley, the original SOH A-26 Invader is required to be installed before installation of this aircraft. Included in this package: model by Milton Shupe with K model modifications by John Terrell, textures by Russel Smith, Henry William, and John Terrell, 2D panel and gauges by Rich Murray, flight dynamics by Jerry Beckwith and Tom Falley modified by John Terrell, pilot figures by Jan Visser. A special thanks goes out to Milton Shupe who generously provided me the original source model to work with as well as a great amount of help whenever I ran into a tough spot. Also I'd like to thank Cliff Presley for all of his excellent resources he has provided to this project.
