CYWG - Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport / Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
CYWG - Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport / Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada This airport update was made with the latest version of ADE (Airport Design Editor) and made for FSX as a replacement for the stock (default) airport. I found that most stock airports in FSX lack a decent amount of character and realism and this area in particular was dreadful! The stock airport was rather inaccurate. I've made several additions to the airport which are listed below. All these enchancements are as close to the real airport as I can get with stock library objects. I've used satellite images, terminal photos and maps throughout the whole process so building locations are as accurate as possible. Happy landings in the beautiful Canada! Features: *Greatly expanded parking apron *Brand new main terminal building with its 11 jetways and regional airline parking and parking garage *Old terminal (soon to be demolished) with construction vehicles *Hangar and other airport buildings added *Cargo terminal with parking *Military cargo area *Airport vehicles and objects throughout the airport *Main road in front of airport added with static vehicles *Airport fire station with fire trucks *Static de-icing area with vehicles *Old runway 7/25 which was demolished in the 1990s and FSX inexplicably included has been removed

KFHR Friday Harbor Photoreal Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This Scenery consists of the FSX default airport of Friday Harbor, set on photorealistic terrain. Although the scenery has been compiled with night masks, night terrain has been excluded to reduce the file size. It has been designed for Megasceneryearth photorealistic scenery of the San Juan Islands but will also work with the default terrain. Seasonal variations are not included. The main scenery file has been subdivided into several smaller files, which can be switched off according to user preference. Full night textures are included with wash lighting in the terminal and carpark areas. All buildings have been custom modelled using real photographs, and include open hangers with interiors. Next to the fuel station you will find Ernie's Cafe, much loved by resident and visiting pilots. Close to the airport you will find US style houses modelled on real photographs from the San Juan island. Surfaced airport taxiways and aprons have been kept to a minimum to allow the photoreal textures to show through. The scenery also includes sound effects and high definition people, these can be switched off if they place too much strain on your system. Please enjoy, and I hope you like my scenery as much as I enjoyed making it.

Rybachiy Submarine Base "The Hornet's Nest" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Rybachiy Nuclear Submarine Base, NATO reporting name "The Hornet's Nest." This scenery is specific to the Aerosoft addon "Kamchatka - the Lost Continent." You are welcome to use it, regardless, but in testing, only half the peninsula showed with the Aerosoft scenery inactive.

Rybachiy has a long and chequered past as the home of the Soviet Pacific submarine fleet. It launched the ill fated K-129 in 1968 and is the final stop for submarines before being "disposed" of, a process that includes either sinking the nuclear core, or interring it indefinitely on a floating platform.

I more or less copied the state depicted in Wikimapia, it shows the docks relatively clear of excess retired subs and 10 or 12 Grumble launchers at the SAM site, which is no longer the case. I wonder who's buying up the retired SA-10's.. The odd looking torpedo on the loading dock is the 240 mph, super-cavitating VA-111 Shkval, which is essentially a rocket engined defensive weapon. A consequence of the presumed and persistent superiority of Western underwater acoustics, it is understood that the enemy would "get the drop." In such a circumstance, the crew would load a Shkval and fire it in the direction of the approaching torpedo, which would force the attacking sub to sever the control wire to avoid being hit. Elsewhere, at the SLBM dock, you can see the R-29 Vysota being loaded. It is being advertized as a launch platform for low orbit satellites, besides MIRV's, of course. The SLBM dock is removed from the main base. Steer north of west from the docks, or use Wikimapia to find it.

This is an edit and enhancement of a scenery addon already published by Blaunarwal. He did an excellent job adding detail to Yelizovo, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Avachinskiy Bay. I contacted him and asked if he would collaborate and edit his AI boat traffic to match the docks I moved and he graciously agreed. I tried to arrange the files so it would be equally easy to install to the previous version or as an original.

Graphic Realism and FSX Optimization Download

File Description:
The add-ons configuration step by step Not configured FSX is a pain in the neck for many people. A small number of fps and frequent CTD (crash to desktop) can be extremely annoying or even depressing to some users. A lot of you probably came to a conclusion that it was going to be a losing battle and you gave up after a few fruitless days or you spent money on the FSPS-XTREME FSX PC V2 program, which can automatically do practically everything for us. But what's the point of spending money on something that we can do by ourselves with the help of this handbook? I myself was dealing with the FSX platform three times before I gave up FS9. Microsoft gave out the engine to us, but in order to make sense, our passion involves radical tuning of the device. On the ground of one's own experience and thousands of hours devoted by people to diving into the core of the platform, I'll present a way of installation, add-ons selection and their configuration starting from the installation of the system. Having done the procedures described below, FSX will look beautiful and it'll work smoothly even with challenging sceneries. The entirety is based on quite a popular hardware configuration, which will let us use 85% of the graphic potential of Microsoft Flight Simulator X. We want t to achieve the goal of minimum 25 fps in VC B738 PMDG NGX, with challenging sceneries, flying in the window mode. For the mode the full screen efficiency should reach 33 fps. In this handbook, I'm neither going to describe each and every change made in cfg nor explain what the alterations are to conduce. You will be given a simple and ready recipe which I use myself. I can't guarantee a 100% satisfaction for the poorer equipment computers. I can assure you, however, that FSX will definitely work so much better and playing with FSX sliders or with the size of textures in REX you will be able to obtain the desired effect.

YEEB Eneabba, Western Australia strip and townsite Download

File Description:
YEEB Eneabba strip and townsite Sand mining town in heart of wildflower area Located 278 km north from Perth via the Brand Highway, Eneabba is basically a sand mining town surrounded by some of the most extensive and spectacular wild flower displays anywhere in Western Australia. The town itself is, to be fair, a real non-event with dreary modern housing (with more than a hint of construction town design), a small shopping centre and a service station all of which look as though they have sprung up in the last 20-30 years. The wealth of the area is based on the rutile sands which lie to the south of the town as well as farming, particularly cattle grazing. With an estimated 80 per cent of the world's known rutile supplies the town can boast that it has the biggest deposits of rutile in both Australia and the world. The major mining company in the area is Iluka Resources Ltd. Eneabba is basically a service town for the mines but some of the miners, realising that Eneabba is hardly a paradise, have opted for commuting and live on the coast at Leeman and drive to work preferring the beach to the dry inland.

Cedar Lake Logging Camp Download

File Description:
After flying my first real life solo flight I decided to celebrate by making a fun scenery for flightsim. Cedar Lake Logging Camp was designed to be a great destination for Northern Ontario (Canada) Bush pilots. It is situated northwest of Dryden. It has one 1800 foot gravel runway with trees on both sides for challenging approaches and takeoffs, a helipad and a dock for float operations (visible). There are several cabins on site as well as a hanger and fuel station on the gravel apron. There is a fuel barge and cargo crates by the float docks. For the bush atmosphere there are several deer in the area, a tractor pulling a mower by the runway, and two static aircraft (a Piper Cub by the hanger and a Cessna 185 on floats at the fuel barge). An AI aircraft is integrated into the file as well - the piper cub flies to Red Lake in the morning and to Dryden in the afternoon. There is also an integrated AFCAD file so the camp will show up in the flight simulator database and in the GPS. There are 5 starting locations including the runway ends, 2 parking spots on the apron, the helipad, and beside the dock. I hope you enjoy this as much as I will.

RAF Hooton Park - Cheshire, England Download

File Description:
RAF Hooton Park, on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, was a Royal Air Force station originally built for the Royal Flying Corps in 1917 as a training aerodrome for pilots in World War I. During the early/mid-1930s, it was one of the two airfields (with Liverpool Speke) handling scheduled services for the Merseyside region. Hooton Park was home to No. 610 (County of Chester) Squadron and, post World War II, to No. 611 (West Lancashire) and No. 663 (AOP) Squadron. The airfield closed in 1957 after the disbandment of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force, but the three pairs of Belfast Truss hangars erected in 1917 survived the closure. The site was bought by Vauxhall Motors, who built their Vauxhall Ellesmere Port plant there, which today produces the Vauxhall Astra. A small remaining section of the airfield site is now owned and managed by The Hooton Park Trust. The hangars are also home to The Griffin Trust and an aircraft preservation society named The Aeroplane Collection. Another part of the old airfield, including a length of the old paved runway, perimeter track and the apron used to park Meteor jet fighters, remains in the ownership of The Naylor Trust. A Second World War B1 hangar is also on this site.
Third party add-on's will be required see the readme.txt for details.

RAF Elvington Download

File Description:
The station was originally a grass airfield within No. 4 Group. In the early 1940s the airfield was entirely reconstructed with three hardened runways replacing the grass. It re-opened in October 1942 as a station for 77 Squadron RAF and along with RAF Melbourne and RAF Pocklington was known as No "42 Base". The squadron had a strength of approximately 20 aircraft and initially used the twin engined Armstrong Whitworth Whitley medium bomber although this was quickly replaced by the Handley Page Halifax four engined heavy bomber which was being introduced. No 77 Squadron suffered heavy losses during its time at Elvington with over 500 aircrew killed, missing or taken prisoner and almost 80 Halifaxes lost as it played a major part in the Battle of the Ruhr and the bombing of Berlin. In May 1944 No 77 Squadron posted to the newly opened nearby RAF Full Sutton and was replaced at Elvington by two French squadrons, numbers 346 "Guyenne" and 347 "Tunisie" who both played a leading part in the bombing of Germany. Elvington was the only airfield in the United Kingdom used by the remainder of the Free French Forces, they also flew Handley Page Halifax heavy bombers until they moved to Bordeaux in October 1945 where they became the basis for the new air force of liberated France. In September 1957 a memorial was unveiled in Elvington village dedicated to the two French squadrons. While they were at RAF Elvington nearly half of the squadrons' members were killed. After the war the 400-acre (1.6 km2) airfield was transferred to No 40 Group under the control of Maintenance Command until 1952 when it was greatly enlarged and extended for use by the United States Air Force. United States Air Force use The United States Air Force (USAF) built a new 3,094 m (10,151 ft) runway, which was the longest in the north of England, and a huge 19.8 hectares (49 acres) rectangular hardstanding apron as well as a new control tower to turn Elvington into a "Basic Operation Platform" which would have operated as a Strategic Air Command (SAC) dispersal airfield. After spending £4 million the airfield never became operational as a SAC base and was abandoned by the US Air Force in 1958. Other uses In the early 1960s the Blackburn Aircraft Company, now part of British Aerospace used the runway for test flights of the Blackburn Buccaneer. Elvington retained its status as an RAF relief landing ground and was used by the RAF flying training schools at RAF Church Fenton and RAF Linton-on-Ouse until the airfield was finally closed in March 1992. Present day The airfield is now owned by Elvington Park Ltd. The adjacent buildings and control tower have been restored, and serve as the Yorkshire Air Museum which has many varied and rare aircraft and exhibits, including a complete Halifax bomber. Elvington is also a popular motorsports venue for motorcycle racing. Source:Wikipedia
