Alaska Airlines "Honoring Those Who Serve" Boeing 737-800 and 737-900ER Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Honoring Those Who Serve plane is dedicated to the brave men and women of the US military, as well as veterans of the armed forces and their families. Its unique exterior paint scheme, conceived by a small group of Alaska maintenance technicians, was designed to symbolize remembrance, pride, and appreciation. The design includes a red stripe and blue aircraft body to incorporate elements of the American flag; the phrase "Honoring Those Who Serve," displayed on the fuselage; a symbolic crest representing the Alaska Airlines Fallen Soldier Program to the right of the cargo door; and an "Alaska Airlines Salutes" medallion on the right of the boarding door near the nose of the aircraft, with five stars representing the five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. The special livery was created in partnership with Boeing and is featured on two aircraft; N570AS, a 737-800, and sister ship N265AK, a 737-900. Model developed by Tenkuu Developers Studio, features high resolution textures, dynamic flexing wings, nose gear steering, rudder lock, ground spoilers, low speed aileron locks at high speed, fully animated control surfaces, fully independent suspension, trim animation, opening passenger doors, rolling wheels, animated thrust reversers with reverser block doors, detailed textures, full night lighting, ground service vehicles and more. Model design by Hiroshi Igami. Flight dynamics design by Nick Wilkinson, with assistance from David Biggar. Master textures and paint kit by Kyle Schurb. Textures only for the great TDS model. Enjoy!

EICM Galway Airport, Ireland Download

File Description:
Ireland EICM Galway Airport. Galway airport is a small regional airport situated on the West coast of Ireland. The runway is 1289m(4230ft) in length and is therefore only suitable for GA and small jets. This scenery also includes EICA Connemara and the three airstrips of the Aran Islands, EIIM Inishmore, EIMN Inishmaan, and EIIR Inisheer. EICA Connemara plays host to the shortest scheduled airline service in the world, operated by Aer Arann, and appropriately using BN2 Islanders. In June of 1919, Alcock and Brown crashlanded their converted Vickers Vimy in a Connemara bog, having successfully completed the first non-stop transatlantic flight.

All the terminals and buildings are custom made and static aircraft add a sense of realism. The BGL files have been subdivided so the user can switch various elements of the scenery on or off according to preference. For added realism I have also added some sound effects, animations, people, grass, and rocks. Each airport has a complete set of night textures with wash lighting in the carparks and terminal areas.

The scenery has been primarily designed for VFR photographic scenery using 10m mesh, but will also work with the default terrain, although there are some variations with the default 38m mesh at Inishmore. All the five airports use objects from my Ireland Static object library, 3d aircrew and VFR trees. Full installation instructions are given in the Readme file. I hope you enjoy the scenery as much as I enjoyed making it.

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang (with AccuSim), in the colors of P-51D-10-NA 44-14377 as flown by Captain Ray S. "X-ray eyes" Wetmore, of the 370th FS/ 359th FG. Born in Kerman, California, Ray Shuey Wetmore enlisted in the Army in November 1941 at age 18 and entered pilot training eight months later. Upon commissioning in March 1943 he joined the new 359th Fighter Group which was sent to England in October that year. Flying with the 370th Fighter Squadron, in February and March 1944 Wetmore scored his first 4.25 victories flying the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt. Upon conversion to P-51 Mustangs the group ranged farther afield and Wetmore became a 20-year-old ace with a double victory on May 19, downing two Me-109s. At month's end his tally was 8.25. At year's end he was a captain with nearly 15 kills, flying several Mustangs named Daddy's Girl. He flew 44-14377 between 2 november 1944 and 10 march 1945, when it was damaged by Flak near Remagen. He scored nine victories with this aircraft, making it his most successful mount Upon return from leave in the U.S., then-Captain Wetmore scored steadily from November 1944 to January 1945. In that period he downed 12 more enemy fighters including 4.5 FW-190s on January 14. His final victory was a rocket-powered Me-163 on March 15. His final score was 21.25 destroyed and one damaged in aerial combat, highest score in the 359th Fighter Group and eighth best of all Americans in the European Theater. P-51D G-SIJJ "Jumpin'Jacques" Download

File Description:
"Jumpin Jacques" is a P-51D-20-NA model, built at North American’s Inglewood facility in California. Accepted by the USAAF on December 21 1944 as 44-72035, she was assigned to the 332nd fighter group in the Mediterranean Theatre of operations. The 332nd became very famous as the first all Afro American manned Group known as "The Tuskegee Airmen" although references to them at the time refer to them as "The Red Tails". She entered combat with the 15th Air force around March 1945 serving out the last few months of the war on escort and ground attack sweeps over Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. She still carries the battle scars to this day, with bullet repairs in several places on the fuselage. After the war, she was repatriated to the US and served with several ANG units. She was released from active duty in 1953 and in 1956 sold to Whitman Enterprises, CA, who registered her as N5411V. She remained in the Us until 1981, when she was sold to Colombia. In 1989, she was bought by Jacques Bourret of Aero Retro, based in St.Rambert, France, with the registration F-AZMU. When looking for a colour scheme for the P-5, Jacques came upon the photo of a Mustang named "Jumpin’ Jacques" and could not resist adopting this as the new scheme. The original "Jumpin’ Jacques" was flown by Lt Jacques E Young of the 3rd Fighter Squadron, 3rd Air Commando Group, a unit that operated out of the Philippines. At present, she is with the Hangar11 group of North Weald, UK, flying with the registration G-SIJJ. She has been repainted completely in early 2007, and it is this paintscheme that is depicted with this repaint. Repaint for the Shockwave WWII Fighters P-51D Mustang by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by John Terrell.

FS2004/FSX/P3D Fred Olsen C-46 1970 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the C-46 in Fred Olsen Lines 1970 colors. The freeware C-46 by Libardo Guzman and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. The famous Norwegian shipping magnate; Fred Olsen, formed his new airline "Fred Olsen’s Flyselskap" in June 1946. It was a nonscheduled carrier, which offered aircraft leasing, passenger and cargo charters, calibration flights, and contract service flights. They started with DC-3s and in 1958 five C-46s joined the fleet. Also, many of the company’s services were undertaken under contract to SAS, the national carrier of the Scandinavian countries. Fred Olsen Lines was focused mainly on cargo flights, and in 1965 their fleet had three C-46s and one DC-6A/B. Two more DC-6s were added to the fleet during 1966-67, followed by a Convair CV-340 in 1968. In 1969 Fred Olsen Lines' emphasis was to offer executive passenger charter services with their new Falcon executive jets. However, this special service did not work for the company, and in 1972 Olsen sold the two Falcons to the Royal Norwegian Air Force. So, the focus was back to Cargo, and in 1974 The first of many L-188Cs joined the fleet. The 1970s and 1980s were quite good for the ailrine and by 1986 the emphasis was shifted entirely to cargo charters. In 1997 Fred Olsen's airline ceased operations. The reasons offered were the loss of maintenance contracts, and difficulties in making a profit in the Central European freight market. This repaint is of C-46 LN-FOR, one of three C-46s operated by Fred Olsen. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. Textures are 32bit bmp. It should work on FSX, P3D v1-3, & FS2004.

Zambia Airways DHC-2 Beaver c1966 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of a DHC-2 Beaver in Zambia Airways colors. The freeware DHC-2 Beaver (wheels) by John L. Woodward is needed for this repaint. It is an FS2004 plane, but I flew it in FSX-SE using the default Beaver panel. The plane can be downloaded here on Avsim, file name: beaver_wheels_2005.zip. Zambia Airways was formed as a subsidiary of Central African Airways (CAA) in April 1964. When CAA collapsed in 1967, Zambia Airways became a fully Zambian owned carrier. In 1968, the fleet consisted of DHC2 Beavers, DC-3s, and two newly delivered BAC-111s from the defunct CAA. They flew on regional routes to Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Mauritius. Alitalia was also hired to provide support of the initiation of new international services. A Douglas DC-8-43 leased from Alitalia was used for the long-haul Lusaka to London flights, which were inaugurated in November 1968, via Nairobi and Rome. In 1970 Zambia Airways took delivery of 3 HS-748s, and in 1974 they received their first Boeing liner; the 707-343C. One year later the two BAC-111s were sold to Dan-Air. July 1976 saw the delivery of the carrier's first 737-200. Zambia Airways received their first wide-body DC-10-30 in July 1984. Zambia Airways did well financially over the years, but by the end of the 1980s and early 1990s, things were a bit more complicated. With financial difficulties facing Zambia Airways, it was forced into liquidation in December 1994. Zambia Airways operated a total of 4 DHC-2 Beavers on local services. This aircraft, 9J-RFZ, was with the airline from 1964 to 1967. This repaint should work on FSX & FS2004. Textures are 32bit BMP.

LJLJ Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport Download

File Description:
Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport (IATA: LJU, ICAO: LJLJ) also known by its previous name Brnik Airport, is the international airport of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The airport is located near the village of Brnik, 19 km (12 mi) north of Ljubljana and 11 km (6.8 mi) south of Kranj on the road between Kranj and Menges. It has a 3,300 m 45 m (10,827 ft 148 ft) paved runway. Letalisce Brnik was opened on December 24, 1963. In 2007, the central-right government controversially renamed the airport to Ljubljana Joze Pucnik airport. Joze Pucnik was a Slovene public intellectual, dissident, and politician, leader of the Democratic Opposition of Slovenia (Demos) between 1989 and 1992. The airport is home to Adria Airways, the Slovenian flag carrier. There are currently two low-cost carriers serving the airport, EasyJet and Wizz Air. A few other airlines also serve the airport. On December 8, 2004, the airport received its first annual millionth passenger. Overall, the airport handled 1,369,485 passengers in 2011, down from 1,673,050 passengers in 2008. It is the only airport in Slovenia with scheduled air traffic. The airport is served by a motorway exit off the A2 motorway and by bus service connecting it with Ljubljana and Kranj. A rail line to both cities is planned as well. Airport is equipped with ILS Cat IIIb on runway 30. NDB and VOR approach are also available. The runway of the Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport was closed to air traffic in April 2010. During that time, the entire width of the asphalt surface of the runway was renovated, as well as the asphalt surface on some parts of taxiways. This file has the right coordenates, apron and characteristics of the airport, airport vehicules and buildings, Airport charts included.

Grande Prairie CYQU in Alberta, Canada, Updated Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a new version of the original post from March 2014, made in 2018. It was made mainly to provide some missing textures, but has been modified to also add parked trucks and floodlights to the de-icing area (the floodlights are inoperative as they will not be on when there is no de-icing in progress) and also street and car parking lighting, a few more parked planes, and some further objects on the terminal apron area. The runway approach lighting was also corrected; moving the airport so that the ILS on 29 did not coincide with the roads would have been nice, but meant too many complications at this stage. The scenery is complete in itself and can be installed as-is if you do not have the original post. Grande Prairie is at 2,195 feet asl, 65 miles southeast of Dawsons Creek, 90 miles southwest of Peace River and around 60 miles east of the Rockies. The town has a population of around 55,000 and growing. The name comes from the wide expanse of prairies all around the town, and there is also a large forested area to the southwest leading up to the Rockies which supplies raw material for industries in the town. The airport is just to the west of the town. It was originally a military base, built during WW2. The two runways are 07-25 and 11-29 and 6,200 and 6,500 feet respectively, both 200 feet wide; runway headings had changed by 2010 in real life but take this as it was in 2008. When one is the active runway then the other is used as a taxiway. Taxiway A is very wide with in real life a repaired central section marked out for use.

Consolidated PBY-5A (G-PBYA) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
A repaint for the Aerosoft PBY-5 Catalina in the colors of G-PBYA, originally ordered for the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Canso A amphibian, basically equivalent to the US Navy PBY-5A. It was built by Canadian Vickers at Cartierville, Quebec and was allocated their constructors number CV-283 before adopting the RCAF serial 11005. It was taken on charge by the air force on 27 October 1943 and initially saw service with 9 (Bomber Reconnaissance) Squadron at Bella Bella on the British Columbia coast between Vancouver and Prince Rupert. It was on their inventory from November to the following August. 9 Squadron had been based at Bella Bella for some time prior to the arrival of Cansos, having operated Supermarine Stranraers there. The Cansos were mainly operated from water despite their amphibious undercarriages and were used on day and night patrols, looking out for enemy submarines. By mid-1944, the threat of a Japanese invasion of Western Canada had receded and it was decided to disband 9 Squadron and close the station at Bella Bella. The Cansos, including 11005, were flown to Alliford Bay in the Queen Charlotte Islands, also in British Columbia, and transferred to 7 (BR) Squadron in August. The job was the same – anti-submarine patrols mostly – and 11005 remained with 7 Sqn until it too was disbanded on 25 July 1945. After a post-war career as transport and waterbomber, it was acquired by Plane Sailing in 2004, restored and repainted as a OA-10A of the USAAF. It is based in Duxford. More info here: http://www.catalina.org.uk/. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aerosoft.
