Airstrips of Central Germany Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Another selection in my Airstrips of Western Europe project, herewith 80+ small airfields in central Germany, each enhanced with taxiways, parking spaces, buildings etc. and aprons as appropriate, to further facilitate the generation of lightweight AI traffic in the area, without overloading the more major airfields. Again, there's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. These buildings have minimal effect on frame-rates, so are ideal for this kind of job. The airfields are aligned as well as possible with the roads etc. in UT Europe and the Genesis Europe mesh, but should mostly be fine in a default installation or other configuration. As before, the files for each airfield can be easily identified by the ICAO code, even if the airfield names vary slightly, so you can pick and choose and mix and match to suit any sceneries you already have, should you so wish. There is no requirement for any other download. Each airfield will exist as a stand-alone entity should you only want a few of them. Please read the rest of this "blurb" in the included text file. There may be some details of note or interest.

Albian CAL4, Firebag CFG6, Horizon CYNR, Mildred Lake CER4, and Muskeg Tower CFW4 in Alberta Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
All of these airfields are in or close to the Athabasca Tar Sands in Alberta, modelled here along with the airfields. The tar sands workings extend along the Athabasca River for over 60 miles north of Fort McMurray in northern Alberta, and the huge cleared areas, surface mining, tailings ponds, and refineries along the Athabasca are right up there as Alberta's biggest VFR landmark. One look at a tailings pond (sea? ocean?) makes it clear that someone was worried about public reaction to the size. As well as the surface mining there are also large areas where there is underground extraction with a grid of dirt tracks between equipment installations. There are four airfields associated with the tar sands. Horizon CYNR is a public service airport operated by Canadian Natural Reources Ltd. Mildred Lake CER4 is owned and operated by Syncrude. Albian CAL4 is owned and operated by Shell Canada, and Firebag CFG6 is owned and operated by Suncor Energy. The fifth airfield is the nearby Muskeg Tower CFW4, which is there solely to support folks during their fire watch in the 120 feet tall tower. There is also a sixth airfield east of Horizon across the river and still visible, Bitumount; this is no longer in use. There is Ai included involving Canadian North, North Cariboo, Wasaya, HTS, First Air, Suncor, etc.

PMDY - Midway Island (1970) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FS2004 scenery for Midway Island (1970). Midway Island has long been a vital stopover for ships and aircraft plying the Central Pacific. Although the islands are a quiet nature preserve today, during the 1970s Midway was a key link in the DEW (Detection Early Warning) radar defense system. Midway Island is actually two islands; Sand Island (the Western Island) with the current airfield and Eastern Island with an airfield dating from World War II which has become an antennae farm. This scenery was designed to accommodate the Vintage Military AI available from CalClassics.com.

Guelph Air Park CNC4 Download

File Description:
This is another "must Have" for the General Aviation VFR flyer in Ontario, Canada. Guelph Air Park CNC4 is a Pilot Tranining airport and situated close to Kitchener-Waterloo(CYKF), Toronto Pearson(CYYZ) and Hamilton International(CYHM). Guelph is also the home of the "TIGER BOYS", vintage aircraft restorers and pilots. A great history document by resident pilot Glenn Norman is included in the download. This scenery is set to line up with Ultimate Terrain Canada/Alaska or Joel's Roads but neither of these is an absolute necessity.

Airstrips of North-East Germany Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Moving towards completing my Airstrips of Western Europe project, herewith 50+ sceneries for smaller airfields in NE Germany, that I haven't included in my previous uploads, each enhanced with taxiways, parking spaces, buildings etc. and aprons as appropriate, to further facilitate the generation of lightweight AI traffic in the area, without overloading the more major airfields. If you have my "German Airstrips" folder from my previous uploads, these are in addition to that and the folders can be merged. Any apparent duplicates will be (minor) updates and can be over-written. Very few basic library objects are used ... you can add "eye-candy" to suit your own taste should you wish, or just leave them as vague shapes in the scenery that can put a few more small aircraft into the air. As with other airfields in this series, now these are "ai-activated" you can expect to see the occasional little aircraft turn up at some of them if you've got any third-party traffic installed. Please read the rest of this "blurb" in the enclosed text file ... there may be some details of interest.
