Airstrips of North-West Europe Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The sales blurb for FS2004 announced the inclusion of over 23,000 airfields ... unfortunately a significant number of those consisted of little or nothing more than a runway on a flatten with a rectangular background polygon. To enable the addition of an amount of lightweight GA AI traffic, without overloading those airfields that were designed with parking spaces and taxi-ways, (and are probably already busy), I herewith include over 140 small sceneries, of mostly default airfields, from NW France, up the English Channel and the North Sea coast through Belgium, the Netherlands and NW Germany to Denmark, all with added taxiways and parking spots, aprons, generic buildings and background polygons as appropriate, to enable AI traffic to be generated without interrupting things at the more major airports. A few of the French airfields are "new", not included originally with FS2004, and a couple have been updated to suit more recent developments :- for example, LFES "Scaer Guiscriff" is now LFES "Bretagne Atlantique", LFOR "Chartres Champhol" is now LFOR "Chartres Metropole", EHSE "Seppe" is now EHSE "Breda International" and EKVH "Vesthimmerlands" was previously EKVH "Aars". There's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. These buildings have minimal effect on frame-rates, so are ideal for this kind of job. The airfields are aligned as well as possible with the roads etc. in UT Europe and the Genesis Europe mesh, but should mostly be fine in a default installation or other configuration. Please read the rest of this "waffle" in the included text file ... it might save some confusion ;) Enjoy :)

Bryce Canyon National Park (KBCE), Utah, Photo-Scenery Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Bryce Canyon National Park (KBCE), Utah, Photo-Scenery (FS9 & FSX)

Despite its name, Bryce Canyon is not actually a canyon that was formed by a river, but rather a giant natural cliff shaped through erosion by wind, water, and ice. Bryce is distinctive due to its geological formations, delicate and colorful pinnacles called hoodoos that are up to 200ft high. The bizarre forms and red, orange and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views. Unfortunately the hoodoos are too small for the elevation mesh in flight simulator. But you can enjoy the colors and shape of the cliffs. The cliffs in main region of the park, just south of the airport are partly covered by snow. But on the southern and western part of the plateau you can enjoy them free of snow. Bryce Canyon is named after the Mormon pioneer Ebenezer Bryce who settled in this area in the 1850s. It was designated as a national park in 1928.

Bryce Canyon Airport (KBCE) just handles small aircraft on a daily basis. But is was actually built to handle larger aircraft in case of emergency. And so on Oct.6th 2000 an American Airlines MD-82 from Denver to Los Angeles made a successful emergency landing after reporting smoke in the cockpit and a loss of cabin pressure.
High resolution versions of this scenery for FS9 and FSX (much sharper, but larger and multiple downloads)are available at www.blueskyscenery.com/CNY_South2West4.html . The screenies are taken from the high-res versions, so expect this version to be slightly more blurry. Thanks to Joop Mak for providing a custom AFCADs that correct airport layouts so that they align with the photo-textures! They are available here: www.blueskyscenery.com/AFCADs.html . YourDonation@Work: Dedicated to Michael, Pat and Keith.

This airport has been around for many years and has had everything from the Air Force One to the 787 Dreamliner land here! The airport is located between downtown Los Angeles and Orange County and offers a great landing for tourists that do not want to land in the fifth busiest airport in the world, Los Angeles International. The reason why I decided to create this airport was because it is my home airport and I am located only about five miles from it. Also, there is no good freeware FSX scenery for this airport. Features included!: - Modern Terminal with correct gate placements - changed and edited roads and other buildings around airport - added the jetBlue offices on the airport - Cars added (all over the place!!!) - trees added near drop off (California Palm trees)! - baggage cars and other airport cars added. - buses and car parking lots added - "spring street" flight schools and private terminal added. - Vehicles, AI aircraft, grave yard aircraft, and many other static joys throughout the airport! - "Runup" aircraft near runway 34R. - Boeing C-17 facility (no aircraft C17 there) - updated taxi ways and heliports - Airport Service vehicle roads updates and made with help from Google Earth. - Accurate fence, jetblast fence, and boarders of airport. - Cargo terminals added for ups and dhl - Private (gulfstream and other private) jet spots added. - Flight Schools such as Long Beach Flight Academy (one I go to!!!) accurately made. - New taxi ways and terrain - Aflite fuel truck spaces added - Correct runway lengths of 25L - More items you just need to see to believe!!! Ireland VFR Small Airports Part 3 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Ireland VFR Small Airports Part 3. This scenery consists of 1. EIKY Kerry International Airport, 2. EIBN Bantry Airfield, 3. EIBR Birr Airfield, and 4. Clonbullogue Airfield. Kerry is situated in the South West of Ireland and serves as a gateway to the world famous Lakes of Killarney, The Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. Bantry is ideal for visiting the rugged beauty of West Cork. Clonbullogue is home to the Irish Parachute Club and is situated approximately 30 miles southwest of EIDW Dublin. Birr is almost in the centre of Ireland and is home to a very active group of GA aviators. The scenery has been created almost entirely from real photographs and all objects have been placed accurately using ordinance survey data and satellite imagery. It also includes animated marshallers, aircrew and passengers together with animated animals and vehicles. Appropriate sound effects have been added to each file together with smoke and strobe lighting. Full night lighting is included, with flood and wash lighting of the aprons and carparks. Each airport has been sub-divided into seperate elements, which can be switched on or off according to the users preference and hardware setup. It caters for GA enthuasiasts and for those who prefer to fly the heavies. This scenery has not been designed as a standalone, it calls on many objects from my Ireland VFR Small Airports parts 1 and 2. It has also been designed to complement photographic scenery but will also work with the default terrain and I have inlcuded a set of landclass and photoreal textures. It also includes an extended set of photoscenery treescapes. Full installation instructions, settings, credits and tips can be found in the README file. Please enjoy and I hope you like my airports as much as I enjoyed making them.

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX (BF273) RAF Special Service Flight Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Spitfire Mk.IX by FlyingIron, in the colors of Spitfire IXc BF273 was one of the Spitfires modified for high altitude interceptions, based at Northolt, 1942, and regularly flown by F/O Prince Emanuel Galtzine. The prince was a Russian immigrant, a great grandson of Tsar Paul 1. After the Russian revolution, his family fled Russia, ending up in England. He wanted to fly, and when the Russian attacked Finland, he decided to join the Finnish Air Force. However, on hearing his mother was killed in the London blitz, he returned to the uK (via the US and Canada) and joined the RAF, becoming a Spitfire pilot with the Special Service Flight in Northolt. On 12 spetember 1942, he intercepted a JU-86 above Southhampton at 41.000ft and attacked it. The battle went up to 43.000 ft, and was the highest recorded air battle of WWII. His spitfire only had two cannons, and one of them was frozen solid, giving a very unbanaced flight while shooting, combined with excessive vapor trails of his ammunition. It is believe he manged to hit the german aircraft, but in the end it got away safely. However, since the Germans now knew they could be intercepted, they launched no more high altitue attacks on the UK. This paint was included in the original package, but I wasn't happy with the colour, so I redid it completely in what I believe is the correct tint of PRU Blue. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom

Consolidated PBY-5A (G-PBYA) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
A repaint for the Aerosoft PBY-5 Catalina in the colors of G-PBYA, originally ordered for the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Canso A amphibian, basically equivalent to the US Navy PBY-5A. It was built by Canadian Vickers at Cartierville, Quebec and was allocated their constructors number CV-283 before adopting the RCAF serial 11005. It was taken on charge by the air force on 27 October 1943 and initially saw service with 9 (Bomber Reconnaissance) Squadron at Bella Bella on the British Columbia coast between Vancouver and Prince Rupert. It was on their inventory from November to the following August. 9 Squadron had been based at Bella Bella for some time prior to the arrival of Cansos, having operated Supermarine Stranraers there. The Cansos were mainly operated from water despite their amphibious undercarriages and were used on day and night patrols, looking out for enemy submarines. By mid-1944, the threat of a Japanese invasion of Western Canada had receded and it was decided to disband 9 Squadron and close the station at Bella Bella. The Cansos, including 11005, were flown to Alliford Bay in the Queen Charlotte Islands, also in British Columbia, and transferred to 7 (BR) Squadron in August. The job was the same – anti-submarine patrols mostly – and 11005 remained with 7 Sqn until it too was disbanded on 25 July 1945. After a post-war career as transport and waterbomber, it was acquired by Plane Sailing in 2004, restored and repainted as a OA-10A of the USAAF. It is based in Duxford. More info here: http://www.catalina.org.uk/. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aerosoft.

Airstrips of the Falkland Islands Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Inspired by Jim Keir's Falkland Islands mesh, coastlines and landclass, herewith a couple of dozen little strips from around the area, to give the opportunity to generate a bit of GA AI (and possibly a few scheduled flights) in an otherwise relatively ignored area in the South Atlantic. Please do note, other than Stanley, most of these airstrips are just that, a cleared strip of land in an otherwise empty landscape, (just as they are in real life), simply to provide a variety of destinations for the occasional aircraft to or from Stanley. Most of the airfield locations are listed on WikiPedia and the layout confirmed using on-line satellite imagery. Other than the two main airports, none of these airstrips seem to have "official" ICAO codes, so I've generated a selection of alpha-numeric codes in the SF0* configuration, (as Stanley Airport has the ICAO code of SFAL), so the FS9 AI engine has some codes to work with and the airfields can be found on the map. Hopefully these pseudo-codes won't clash with anything else. As with my other sceneries, the files for each airstrip can be easily identified by the ICAO code, even if the airfield names vary slightly, so you can pick and choose and mix and match to suit any sceneries you already have, should you so wish. There is no requirement for any other download. Each airstrip will exist as a stand-alone entity should you only want a few of them. Having said that, Paul Denton's AFCAD and scenery for EGYP Mount Pleasant (available on AVSIM and possibly elsewhere) might be considered a worthwhile addition, especially if you want to see the twice-weekly scheduled RAF flights from Brize Norton (via Ascension Island), and the Saturday LATAM flight from Chile. Suitable AFCADs for EGVN Brize Norton and SCCI Punta Arenas may also be required. Appropriate traffic files and aircraft/texture suggestions are provided. Please read the remainder of this "blurb" in the included text file, there may be a couple of details of interest.

Airstrips of North-East Germany Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Moving towards completing my Airstrips of Western Europe project, herewith 50+ sceneries for smaller airfields in NE Germany, that I haven't included in my previous uploads, each enhanced with taxiways, parking spaces, buildings etc. and aprons as appropriate, to further facilitate the generation of lightweight AI traffic in the area, without overloading the more major airfields. If you have my "German Airstrips" folder from my previous uploads, these are in addition to that and the folders can be merged. Any apparent duplicates will be (minor) updates and can be over-written. Again, there's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. These buildings have minimal effect on frame-rates, so are ideal for this kind of job. The airfields are aligned as well as possible with the roads etc. in UT Europe and the Genesis Europe mesh, but should mostly be fine in a default installation or other configuration. As before, the files for each airfield can be easily identified by the ICAO code, even if the airfield names vary slightly, so you can pick and choose and mix and match to suit any sceneries you already have, should you so wish. There is no requirement for any other download. Each airfield will exist as a stand-alone entity should you only want a few of them. Very few basic library objects are used ... you can add "eye-candy" to suit your own taste should you wish, or just leave them as vague shapes in the scenery that can put a few more small aircraft into the air. As with other airfields in this series, now these are "ai-activated" you can expect to see the occasional little aircraft turn up at some of them if you've got any third-party traffic installed. Please read the rest of this "blurb" in the enclosed text file ... there may be some details of interest.

This scenery is a homage to the great military airport of Cameri NO, Italy; it has been revised with complete new ground that solves the previous flickering problems; it is builded-up with ownmade GMax objects and other existing ones; some buildings by GMax, remainder by others and by Generic Building system.

Information: Built during 1910 close to Novara, it became a prestigious Flight School where a lot of pilots of WWI where trained. Later, Gabardini/CANSA entered by promoting and developing aviation activities, mainly establishing a military flight school. On 27th July 1914, first of story's time, a flight from Cameri crossed the Alps (Camery - Viege, over Monte Rosa) with a Gabardini 80HP aircraft and pilot Achille Landini together with Giuseppe Lampugnani passenger. On 1930 the school closed, but the field still remained as aviation workshop. During the WWII the airport was quite destroyed by the german army, during their retreat. After the war, the rebuild operations carried on to Cameri several details, of which the acrobatic patrol of "Lancieri Neri" and, 1967-1999, the great 53th "Stormo Caccia". On 1998 the storm was moved to Gioia del Colle airport and the base was restructured as Comand Airport, where some technical departments still works (the 453th Operative Technical Services Group, the 553th Logistic Operative Services Group and, mainly the 1st Aircrafts Maintenance Dep.nt)

Contents: all around new great terrain for about 4.5 x 3.5 km; static aircraft inside hangar as Tornado, Eurofighter and historic monoliths at admittance and inside airport; ground equipments, cars outside and inside airport, bus, tankers, emergency trucks; military shelters (10) and workshop ones (5); buildings outside/inside airport, control tower, VOR, radar tower and some other navaids; lights at hangars, admittance and all over the boundaries; more then 10 km boundary by walls and fences of the complete areas; thousands trees all over the scenery.
