P-40E Warhawk Download

File Description:
P40E Warhawk for x-plane 6.4-6.6 - The P-40 Warhawk built by Curtiss was developed from the P-36 simply by replacing the radial engine with the liquid cooled Allison 1720 V12 with 1125 HP. It was America's foremost fighter in service when WWII began. P-40s engaged Japanese aircraft during the attack on Pearl Harbor and the invasion of the Philipines in December 1941. They also were flown in China early in 1942 by the famed Flying Tigers and in North Africa in 1943 by the first AAF all-black unit, the 99th Fighter Squadron. The P-40 served in the Aleutian Islands, Italy, the Middle East, the Far East, the Southwest Pacific and some were sent to Russia. Though often outclassed by its adversaries in speed, maneuverability and rate of climb, the P-40 earned a reputation in battle for extreme ruggedness. At the end of the P-40's brilliant career, more than 14,000 had been produced for service in the air forces of 28 nations, of which 2,320 were of the "E" series.

F100 Super Sabre Download

File Description:
F100 Super Sabre v1.0 for x-plane 6.4-6.6 - Developed as a follow-on to the F86 used in the Korean War, the F-100 was the world's first production airplane capable of flying faster than the speed of sound in level flight (760 mph). Of the 2,294 F-100's built before production ended in 1959, 1,274 were -D's, more than all the other series combined. The -D, which made its first flight on Jan. 24, 1956, was the most advanced production version. Its features included the first autopilot designed for a supersonic jet and a low-altitude bombing system. The Super Sabre had its combat debut in Vietnam where it was used extensively as a fighter-bomber in ground-support missions such as attacking bridges, road junctions, and troop concentrations.

B25 Mitchell v1.1 for x-plane 6.4/6.51 Download

File Description:
B25 Mitchell v1.1 for X-Plane 6.4/6.51 upgrade from v1.0 includes better handling and improved non-custom panel. Made famous by the Doolittle raid on Tokyo shortly after Pearl Harbour the B25 Mitchell bomber is perhaps the most famous medium bomber of WWII and perhaps of all time. The B25 was the most numerous twin engine aircraft built by the US during WWII estimates of production vary from 9300 to 11000 built. On April 18, 1942 Doolittle led sixteen B-25 aircraft from the navy carrier, U.S.S. Hornet to bomb Japan in retaliation for that country's attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Although little damage was done and all planes were lost the raid proved to be one of the most famous missions of the war. The B25 was powered by a pair of 1,700 hp Wright R-2600-29 "Cyclone" 14 cylinder, air-cooled engines. Maximum speed was 272 mph at 15,000 ft, with a ceiling of 24,000 ft and a range of 1350 miles with a full load of bombs. Armament varied considerably in the B25 depending on the type of mission the plane was designed for. Heavenly Body is a B25J designed as a bomber, so it carried eleven 0.50 caliber machine guns; two in the top turret, two in the tail, one in the nose, two in cheek packs on each side under the pilot and one in each waste window. The top, nose and cheek pack guns could also be used in strafing, if so desired. This version carried 3,000 lbs of bombs (usually six 500 pounders) in an interior bomb bay. The X-Plane version is a fairly faithful rendition of the B25. The body consists of two sections consisting of the fuselage and a fuel tank. The main engine nacelles actually consist of two nacelles, one is the 1700 HP engine, the rear section is a 5 lb thrust rocket. Engine nacelles are also used for the two rudders in order to get the correct shape. Vertical stabilizers with rudders are buried within the nacelles. Decoration of the plane is complicated by the use of multiple engine nacelles but the resulting compromise is acceptable though not an authentic replica.

As usual my panel leaves a lot to be desired but version 2 will correct this.

F-111F Aardvark For X-Plane 6.40/6.51 Download

File Description:
F-111F Aardvark for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 - After a prolonged development period in which many, many problems had to be identified and fixed, the F-111 turned out to be one of the most effective all-weather interdiction aircraft in the world. Although highly critisized by some as being an unsafe and dangerous plane, the F-111 series of aircraft established the best safety record of any of the aircraft in the Century Series of fighters with only 77 aircraft being lost in a million flying hours (that's hours not miles). There was no other aircraft in service with the USAF which could carry out the F-111's mission of precise air strikes over such long ranges in all-weather conditions. Although the aircraft has left USAF service, it still serves with distinction with the Royal Australian Air Force and may very well continue there until 2020. The original concept for the F111 was for both a USAF and US Navy version. Weight problems led to cancellation of the Navy version in 1968. The F111 was the first swing wing fighter, the first with a side by side escape capsule for the operators and the first able to cruise at over mach 1 without after burning. It was also the first bomber with greater than mach 2.5 capability. The F version has a wingspan of 63.0 ft. spread, a length of 73.5 ft. and is powered by two 25,100 lb static thrust engines with afterburning. Gross takeoff weight is 100,000 lb., maximum ordinance 31,000 lb and internal fuel 5025 USgal. Range is greater than 2500 nm with internal fuel and service ceiling is above 60000 ft.

B58 Hustler for X-Plane 6.4/6.51 Download

File Description:
B58 Hustler v1.0 for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 - development of the B58 began in 1951 with 161 planes delivered to SAC between 1960 and 1970. Americas first supersonic jet bomber (mach 2+) the B58 was designed for high speed delivery of nuclear or conventional weapons from long range as a compliment to the B52 subsonic bomber. One of the most sophisticated planes ever developed, the B58 set many speed and altitude records some of which remain unbroken today. With a gross takeoff weight of 163000 lbs the B58 could cary as much as 101000 lbs of fuel (that's almost 60% of the gross weight). One of the most computerized aircraft ever built, the B58 is amazingly easy to fly without any computer assistance (except the one used to run the x-plane simulator). Go to the attached web sit for the fascinating story of the B58 Hustler. Wing span: 56 ft. 10 in (17.32 m) Length: 96 ft. 9 in (29.49 m) Height: 31 ft. 5 in (9.58 m) Wing Area: 1,542 sq ft (470 sq m) Weights: Empty: 55,560 lb (25,201 kg) Max T/O: 163,000 lb (73,935 kg) Performance: Maximum Speed: 1,321 mph (2,125 km/h) @ 63,150 ft (19,248 m) Combat Ceiling: 63,150 ft (19,248 m) Record Ceiling: 85,360 ft (26,017 m) Combat Radius: 1,750 miles (2,816 km) to, 5,577 miles (8,975 km) with inflight refueling Powerplant: Four General Electric J79-GE-1 turbojet engines rated at 10,500 st. or 16,000 st. with afterburners.
