LFMI - Istres/Le Tube

File Description:
Welcome to Istres Air Base/BA 125. Istres is an Air Base use by the French Air Force and is also a base for the helicopter squadron. It has a large repair and is a large training facility. It's common to see the Alpha jet visiting the BA 125 during their training. Alpha Jet used by the Patrouille de France.

The Air base is large enough to accomodate all type of aircrafts and even up to the B747. It has 1 major Rwy 15/33 of 12303 Ft /3750 m. I have included the 15C/33C grass rwy for use by ligth G.A aircraft and other Gliders. Put up on a nice landing and Hot dog will be waiting for you down there! ;) I have developped all aprons, included the ILS rwy 15 and developped the Tower area, increased the amount of parking due to the space available. Istres has a tremendous amount of parking spot. I have included the chart as well for VFR traffic. 2 Parallel Rwy to the active one, these are closed! do not mistake them with the grass one! ;) Have fun!

Crossing North America Flight Adventures-Package 1

File Description:
Inspired by Michael Doherty (Difficult & Dangerous Approaches) and David Dossiere (Hopping Round the World) and their flight adventures, I have put together a series of flight plan-adventures where the aircraft used are all available as freeware. A file locator is included with each package so that you can easily find and download the aircraft used. These packages each contain 10 flight adventures and each package begins at the location the previous package ended. All flightplans are VFR only and are designed so that you can enjoy the outstanding scenery of Alaska, Western Canada, Western and Mountain States of the lower 48, and Mexico. The adventure, Crossing North America, begins at Pt Hope, Alaska and will conclude in the following months at Cancun, Mexico. The aircraft used are: General Aviation, Vintage, Warbirds, Bush Aircraft, and Propliners. No IFR flightplans or jets! The flightplans are NOT designed to get you from Alaska to Mexico by the shortest route possible, but are in the spirit of David Dossiere's "Hopping Round the World" adventure flights, in that they take you into as many areas or airports as possible. Al Pelletier's Round Robins - Castlegar

File Description:
Hi again Flight Simmers. This adventure takes place in the Interior of British Columbia Canada, which is a very rugged and mountainous area. In fact, one of the toughest areas of the World, for any kind of planes to fly regular routes. I flew this route with 2 different airplanes. One with the Dornier and one with the old DC3 Dakota. With the more modern airplane, you can fly in and out of the route in IFR conditions with no problems. But with an aircraft that has a maximum of 500 to 900 Feet per minute rate of climb, you have to fly in VFR condition out of Castlegar to find an area that will allow you to climb to IMC(Instrument Meteorological Conditions) from VMC (Visual Meteorological Conditions). The DC3 I flew is by Bill Rambow, Roy Chaffin and Jan Visser. This, folks, is simply the BEST airplane that I have ever seen for MS Flight Sim, since 1982! This airplane and all the necessary scenery for this article can be found at http://wings.ark.com in the Full Throttle directory and probably at the Flight Simulator World web site. A list of all the necessary or nice to have files are listed on these pages.

Wrong Way Charlie

File Description:
Charlie Hungsfinger Took off from KaraKose in Eastern Turkey in his Yellow Piper Cub happy to fly his 87 take off in his Eastern Europe VFR tour.After a great 400 ft high, mountain hopping flight he desided to land in a little town he saw at his 3 O´clock to get some water something to eat and directions for he knew he was lost. He called the tower at Karakose and told them of his intentions. Two hours later Charlie was behind bars in an Iranian Army base....With a possible International Incident about to happen!!!!!! ----- A special Forces Team based in the Turkish Air Force Base of Van has been ordered to get Charlie out of his prison as soon as possible...No need for an Internatinal Incident due to Charlie´s "wrong way tour"!!!... The Mission calls for an air drop near the army base, there will be 6 Special forces dudes and their STALWART!!..Charlie, if gotten out will be driven back to the border since it is to dangerous to land a plane at the Iranian Base!!! or near it.. No Way!!! A very dangerous mission indeed!...on Four engines, a Stealth Fighter, 8 Wheels and tough boots!!!

Herr Mountain Airport (5NJ2), NJ

File Description:
Located 02 miles N of Stanton, New Jersey, Herr Mountain Airport is a private turf strip. No aircraft are based here, so don't expect much except for ample room to land and take off again. There is a residence on the property, but no hangar or storage facilities. The runway is 2800x100 feet so not too hard to arrive and depart from. Approaching Runway 25 can be a slight challenge given that you need to level off your descent to cross over a mountain top before diving in to land. There is no hard surface runway, so you will be landing on terrain - be gentle! It's recommended to have your mesh complexity set as high as possible to get the full effect. The runway is not lit so daytime VFR operations only are allowed at this airport. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 001. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

Thomas Browne Airpark Airport (61NJ), NJ

File Description:
Located 02 miles W of Glassboro, New Jersey, Thomas Browne Airpark Airport is a private turf strip 2000��80 feet. There is no hard-surfaced runway, which means you will be landing on terrain so it is recommended you set your mesh resolution as high as possible. Watch out for trees and buildings alongside and at opposite ends of the runway. Crop fields are planted to the south of the runway and border the runway. You won't crash if you run into them but it certainly won't put you in good favor with the field owners! Take caution to avoid the transmission line towers as they are not lit at night! Neither is the runway, for that matter, so daytime VFR operations only are recommended for this airfield. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 004. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

Strawberry Fields Airport (89NJ), NJ

File Description:
Located 02 miles N of Mays Landing, New Jersey on 220 acres of land, Strawberry Fields Airport is a private turf/sand strip. SkyVector lists the runway as 2200' long, but as measured during development it is closer to 3000'. In addition to Runways 14 and 32, there is a second runway that is not listed in the airport directory and presumed closed. However if you need it in an emergency the numbers are 03 and 21 (no starts are available for these runways). This airport is not lit and is best used only during daytime VFR conditions. The windsock can be found at the intersection of the two runways and is also not lit. You will be landing on bare terrain so have your mesh complexity slider set as high as possible for best effect. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 003. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

Hackettstown Airport (N05), NJ

File Description:
Located 03 miles SW of Hackettstown, New Jersey on 65 acres of land, Hackettstown Airport is a public asphalt strip 2200' in length. Fuel, tiedowns and hangars are all available for transient aircraft. For fuel, stop on the concrete pad next to the fuel tank northeast of the runway - 100LL only. Tiedowns are available both east and west of the runway - note that west parking faces the trees and if you start in one of the West Parking spots you will either need to pushback or slew to give yourself room to turn out - static aircraft collisions are off but vegetation is not. The one hangar north of the airport is open for parking, you can start there with the DOCK type parking location. This airport is not lit so daytime VFR operations only are recommended. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New York 007. Paramount Air Airport JY04 , NJ

File Description:
Located 01 miles N of Green Creek, New Jersey on 20 acres of land, Paramount Air Airport is a private turf strip 2000' in length, although about 300' of it at the end of Runway 32 isn't in the best shape. The runway is 100' wide but closely hedged in by trees along both sides for the length of the runway. A hangar is past the end of Runway 14 but no services are offered for transient aircraft. Still, you can choose to start parked at the hangar if you wish. There is no hard surfaced runway so having your terrain mesh set as high as possible is recommended. No windsock is present, so know your weather (KWWD is very close by) and the airport is unlit so daytime VFR operations only are recommended. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 005. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.
