Yakolev 52 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Re-upload following Avsim hack. Quoting from Wikipedia: "The Yakovlev Yak-52 is a Soviet primary trainer aircraft. It first flew in 1976 and is still being produced in Romania, by Aerostar, they gained manufacturing rights under agreement within COMECON socialist trade organisation now defunct. The Yak-52 was designed originally as an aerobatic trainer for students in the Soviet DOSAAF training organisation. That organisation trained both civilian sport pilots and military pilots. Since the early 1990s and the fall of the Soviet Union, many Yak 52s have been exported to the west. Of the approximately 1,800 produced to date, most now fly in the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and other western countries. A descendant of the single-seat competition aerobatic Yakovlev Yak-50, the all-metal Yak-52 is powered by a 360 hp, 9-cylinder radial engine, the Vedeneyev M14P. The aircraft has inverted fuel and oil systems permitting inverted flight for as long as two minutes. The engine drives a two-bladed counter-clockwise rotating, constant-speed, wood and fiberglass laminate propeller. The tricycle landing gear is fully retractable, but it remains partially-exposed in the retracted position, affording both a useful level of drag in down manoeuvres and a measure of protection should the plane be forced to land "wheels up." Curiously the main wheels retract forward into the slipstream." It has has been constructed using Gmax v1.2. The aircraft is constructed with as few polygons as possible and with a single texture file to ensure the absolute minimum impact on your framerates. The model has six LODs. As usual, I have made three different textures for the aircraft. These are accurate textures which also includes the actual registration number of the aircraft as this seems to be what many desire to have. It is designed specifically to enhance the AI aircraft population and to use with the marvellous GA-Traffic programme by Markus Brunner . It is also very flyable as a normal aircraft.

Toronto Downtown Airport CYTZ, Ontario Canada, for Toronto2 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
CYTZ is on an island in Lake Ontario and immediately adjacent to downtown Toronto, and this is the version for use with Flight Ontario's Toronto2 scenery for the Greater Toronto Area. There have been major changes after Porter Airlines purchase of the airport. The obvious and main new item is the terminal, made with photo textures, and with ten gates sized to meet the requirements of the Dash 8-400 they currently use. The terminal has a passenger entrance and a vehicle setdown point as part of the link to the ferry terminal that wraps around the west side of the original and preserved terminal building. The ferry terminal is included here, along with a ferry. Also new are the car parking, road routing, gate and taxi markings, taxiways, taxiway signage, taxiway lighting, runway lighting, aprons, apron lighting (from Sid, and you will need to install his "lights_ss_v2"), fences, fuel tanks, tanker trucks, access roads to navigation equipment, ai parking, static parked planes, parked cars, apron equipment, and the useable floatplane ramp. The AI includes Porter, Jazz, several GA aircraft, and a helicopter; only 3 of these require downloads. The Lake Ontario AI includes three large ships, typical of the traffic to be seen on all the Great Lakes. CYTZ has three runways and there is an airport diagram included. 08-26 has ILS and is the only runway long enough for Porter to use; FS9 atc will ignore this. There is fuel available and it is dispensed from a truck. The longer projection from the front of the terminal building is a covered ramp that leads up from the terminal basement level, used by towed luggage trolleys. The gates are not powered in any way except for the weather cover that protects passengers as they cross the small area of asphalt between plane and gate. I did not try to reproduce this in FS9.

Italian Air Force "S.M.Luigi Gorrini" AerMacchi C.205 VELTRO (Greyhound) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Regarded as the best Italian aircraft of World War II together with the Fiat G-55 Centauro, the Macchi-Castoldi C.205 proved to be extremely effective in action, destroying a large number of Allied bombers and capable of successfully clashing on equal terms with such renowned fighters as the North American P-51D Mustang.Although the C.205 was able to match the best Allied opponents both in speed and maneuverability,it was introduced late during the conflict. Moreover, due to the poor Italian industrial capability of the time, only a small production run was delivered to combat units before the end of the war.Famous C.205 pilots are Italy's highest scoring ace Adriano Visconti and the top scoring C.205 Sergente Maggiore pilota (Sargeant Major pilot) Luigi Gorrini. To date, there's still debate about Gorrini's score, since Regia Aeronautica preferred crediting units over individual combat achievements. Gorrini's official aerial combat score is 19 victories, but, according to his memories,he achieved 7 more during his service with Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana (A.N.R.), flying a Macchi C.205. These victories did not enter his officiall tally due to political reasons, since the A.N.R. fought by the side of the German Luftwaffe after the Italian September 8th,1943 armistice. These bring his total tally to 26 victories, making him the top scoring Italian fighter ace of WWII.For his combat record with the A.N.R he was awarded twice by the Luftwaffe with the Iron Cross First and Second Class.Luigi Gorrini was also awarded for his actions, after the end of the war, with the highest Italian military decoration, the "Medaglia d'Oro al Valor Militare" (M.O.V.M.,Gold Medal for Military Valour).Last surviving Italian fighter pilot of WWII,he died recently at the age of 97 and this repaint is dedicated to his memory. Repaint by Manuele Villa/MVG3D, November 2014.

Requires the previous installation of the base Aermacchi C.205 Veltro package by Manuele Villa (C205_V01.zip).

Prepar3Dv4/v5 POSKY Boeing 747SPv4 PBR Conversion Base package Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Project Opensky Boeing 747V4 Classic Series PBR Native Conversion for P3DV4 and V5 is a newly updated conversion of the old top-hit freeware add-on aircraft series that is known to the Flight Simulation Community since FS2002, FS2004, and onwards to FSX and has been loved by thousands of Flight-simmers across the world because of its simple-but-great model, and completely free of charge. But with newer flight simulators on the line under the ESP Flight Simulator Type such as Lockheed Martin Prepar3DV4 and V5, the Project Opensky Boeing 747V4 Classic Series (which was only made for FS9) were slowly falling behind and couldn’t keep up with the current flight simulators today. And now, for the first time in 2022; this newly-updated conversion has surfaced to the public and in the eyes of the flight simulation community. Destined to fly in the current flight simulators of today like Prepar3D V4 and Prepar3D V5, this classic freeware had continued to live on into the new era, bringing nostalgia not only just to those who flown it before in FS2004, but also for a new generation who can relive classic scenes of the Jumbo Jet’s illustrious history through this iconic freeware add-on aircraft series in today’s flight simulator platforms. It finally received an all new makeover! And the permission to convert the models was acquired from the developer who was the mind of the POSKY 747V4 Classic Series: Hiroshi Igami. And he gave our conversion team the green light to do so. Leading to this conversion to surface in the public for the first time. Follow the instructions in the Readme txt file. And read the documentation for more info and the credits on this base package. If you have any questions/comments or any problems while installing this base package, feel free to contact me.

RAF Church Fenton Download

File Description:
RAF Church Fenton (ICAO: EGXG) was an Royal Air Force station in North Yorkshire, near the village of Church Fenton. Plans for a new airfield adjacent to the village of Church Fenton were announced in June 1935, it was subject to protest from the local population particularly concerning the waste of valuable farming land and was close to an existing airfield not far away at Sherburn. Despite the protests construction started in early 1936 on the site, which was a mixture of private and West Riding County Council-owned farm land. On 1 April 1937, the station was declared open and on 19 April the first station commander Wing Commander W.E. Swann assumed command. Within two months No. 71 Squadron RAF had arrived with their Gloster Gladiators. Second World War Opened in 1937, the station saw the peak of its activity during the years of the Second World War, when it served within the defence network of fighter bases of the RAF providing protection for the Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield and Humberside industrial regions. During September 1940, it became home to the first RAF "Eagle squadron" of American volunteers being No. 71 Squadron RAF. The airfield was also home to both the first all-Canadian and all-Polish squadrons, with No. 242 Squadron RAF for the Canadians and No. 306 Squadron RAF for the Polish. As technologies evolved, the first night fighter Operational Training Unit (54 OTU) was formed at Church Fenton in 1940 and stayed until 1942. Some of the squadrons stationed there flew the famous de Havilland Mosquito. Source and more information can be found at :- http://military.wikia.com/wiki/RAF_Church_Fenton

PIK2004 Download

File Description:
FS2004 - (Glasgow)Prestwick International Airport. This whole package is intended to compliment the comprehensive scenery for Scotland provided by the Scotflight Commercial Product, whilst at the same time being fully compatible with default scenery also. This Fs2004 only compatible scenery gives highly detailed scenery for Prestwick Airport and it's immediate surrounds. Prestwick Airport is a hub for the low-cost carrier Ryanair providing flights to many European destinations. Other holiday charter flights operate from the airport and there is a busy cargo terminal. Also adjacent to the airfield is the BAE Systems factory ( formerly Scottish Aviation) and extensive detailed scenery for this site is included. The ground elements of the scenery are drawn with Lee Swordy's excellent Afcad program. The same file also adds AI traffic and accurately placed gates and parking spots. Included is the recently added FlightCentre, with AI traffic movements, the new Ryanair Service Hangar and new Business Park. All added buildings are custom made, many with photo-texturing. The scenery has taxiway signs, active wigwags and full night lighting and a few static aircraft, discreetly placed. A stretch of redrawn accurate coastline is included allowing the addition of the sandy beaches on the approach to Runway 13. The two renowned championship golf courses of Royal Troon and Old Prestwick also feature on the seaward approach plus further golf courses in the towns of Prestwick and Ayr. A local replacement road system covering the airport surrounds and the towns of Prestwick and Ayr is also included and this together with the replacement coastline should be compatible with any of the new Coastline and Roads products now available.

Sulphur Creek Ranch ID74 private airfield in Idaho USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This airfield is in the mountains of Idaho, around 30 miles south of Johnson Creek 3U2 which was the third in the series to be posted. Sulphur Creek Ranch is a privately owned airfield, serving the "Ranch", which translates into "restaurant-bar-lodge-and-holiday-cabins". The field is at 5,744 feet ASL, and the runway is 2,920 feet long and aligned 10-28. It is a single-ended runway, with 28 used for landing and 10 for take offs; this is down to a large chunk of mountain occupying the sky at the western end of the runway. The AI planes comply with this single runway concept and the only snag is that you cannot announce a landing as there is no runway offered for you to select for landing in the AI procedure. When taking off runway 10 is offered and you can announce take off. The land used by the ranch is mostly flat, and with a slant approach on finals and a late turn it is fairly straightforward. The largest landark is the man-made lake. Morgan Ranch 02ID is nearby and the grass area has been modified down in size as per reality. The buildings have been omitted as they are not adjacent to the runway and not visible, and I have no information on them.

Backcountry airfields for 19m terrain mesh in Idaho USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
These four backcountry fields are for use with the FSGenesis 19m mesh of Idaho, and are Big Creek, Johnson Creek, Dixie, and Sulphur Creek Ranch. They have been revised to fit and almost certainly do not work without the 19m mesh; a quick comparison with Big Creek before and after demonstrates the difference. I also have Ultimate Terrain installed. The three ingredients of terrain mesh, UT main roads, and UT streams, along with their individual margins of error, very often create conficts of space that make a grass runway impossible to site with it's correct length. Given the choice of turning off roads or streams (the terrain mesh cannot be turned off, obviously) I chose streams; the roads are less obviously incorrect, plus it matters not if roads go uphill while a climbing stream is to be avoided. On that basis the original series is reissued here for use with the 19m terrain mesh, on the presumption that you have already downloaded the original series. There are no textures or AI included as they remain the same as the originals, and the new scenery bgl's replace the originals to get the runways and grass etc in the right positions. There will be follow-on fields that are new, and all of the new ones will be only for the 19m mesh.

Kaltag KAL in Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Kaltag is a small village on the west bank of the Yukon River, around 65 miles east of the coast at Unalakleet and about 40 miles south of where the river turns from north-south to east-west, east being upstream towards the distant Fairbanks. The population is just under 200 and living from fishing and the land. The airfield is close by and has a gravel runway aligned 21-3 and just under 5,000 feet long. Apart from the airfield itself, and it's buildings, this scenery modifies the local land class, adds village buildings while reducing the village size to reality, and creates a new airfield background. Kaltag is located on the edge of three different airlines coverage areas, and is served by Bering Air from the northwest, ERA from the southwest, and also by Wright Air from Fairbanks in the east. These are included in the AI. A note here about my scenery making. This is post number 507 and there will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes. There is a limit to what can be located online and I have already been making use of the little there is; eg Unalakleet. So, if you are near an airport (preferably Canadian or Alaskan) and have a camera..... Let me know.

Hunting Percival Sea Prince Belgian Air Force (RM-7) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Percival Sea Prince by Rob Richardson, in the colors of RM-7 of the Belgian Air Force, in the paintscheme it wore in its first year of service. In 1953 the Belgian Government ordered 12 Percival Pembroke's through Contract N° SP140 as a replacement for the ageing Avro Anson. The aircraft was used for short-range transport and liaison flights. Between 1956 and 1957 several brand-new Pembrokes were stored at Wevelgem awaiting a future detachment to the Belgian Congo, which eventually never materialised. A number of Pembrokes were also used for the benefit of the Belgian National Geographical Institute that used the aerial photographs obtained with the Pembrokes to produce very detailed maps of the country. In 1978 the Pembrokes were struck of charge after their replacement, the Swearingen Merlin III became operational. All but two Pembrokes were sold to the rather dark company Air America (not to be confused with the CIA-supported Air America that was operational in South-East Asia), which was owned by a drugsdealer. After some very adventurous carreers in Souith America, several former Belgian Pembrokes were acquired and preserved in the USA. RM-7 is preserved in Belgium at Melsbroek air base by the Dakota Historical Center 15th Wing. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Rob Richardson.
