LFPB 1960 Paris Le Bourget Version 2 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Le Bourget airport north of Paris is one of the world's oldest airports. It dates back to the early days of World War One, when land was seized for a military airfield. The airport opened for commercial operations in 1919. Possibly the most significant historical event was Charles Lindbergh's landing there after his historic solo transatlantic flight on Mai 21st, 1927. We have produced this scenery to provide taxiways and details as they were around 1960 in Paris le Bourget We've also included new parking to allow the AI aircraft to taxi correctly at the new (old!) airport. New in version 2 : Upgraded terminal textures by Rui Cristina and new custom made hangars.

South African Air Force Trainer Set Download

File Description:
If you would like to start your military flying career, this file is for you. First, cut your teeth on the basic North American T-6 Texan (Harvard) and then move on to the twin-seater Atlas Impala Mk. 1 (Aermacchi MB326M) to start your jet training. Finally, move on to your own single-seater jet, the Atlas Impala Mk. 2 (Aermacchi MB326KC) to become fully operational. All three aircraft include checklists and virtual dynamic cockpits. They are all fully animated (including opening canopies), have full lighting effects and include custom panels. The "Aircraft overstressed"-problem that occurs when trying fast maneuvers has also been rectified, so you can throw them about at your hearts content. HAPPY FLYING!!

0AK1 - Anderson Lake - Anchorage, Alaska - USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Anderson Lake 0AK1 is in Alaska, less than 2 miles southwest of Wolf Lake, on the north side of Knik Arm. It is , like Wolf Lake, an airpark, with houses and hangars adjacent to a single runway that is 2,200 feet of asphalt aligned 08-26. The runway is lit but the taxiways are not. There are hangars and aprons at the western end that are not "attached" to houses, with an adjacent strip mall. There is also a smaller apron at the eastern end. In the first screenshot Anderson Lake is in the foreground (at the eastern end of the lake of the same name) with Wolf Lake visible behind it.

Atlantic City International Airport (KACY), NJ Download

File Description:
Located 09 miles NW of Atlantic City, New Jersey on 5000 acres of land, Atlantic City International Airport is a major airport serving the southern portion of New Jersey. It is also one of the main gateways for tourists looking to vacation in nearby Atlantic City, famous for its boardwalks and casinos. This airport has been very heavily modeled with many surrounding buildings and all aprons properly placed. Gates are all properly located and labeled according to the terminal chart (there are, however, no jetways like in the default scenery). General Aviation parking is available in its proper area all aircraft in the parking area (middle of the tarmac) have collision disabled. If you select Military Cargo parking you will start on one of the helipads in the Coast Guard section. If you select Military Combat parking you will start next to the line of F-16s on ready-alert over on the Air National Guard tarmac. You can also start on a helipad north of the airport. This airport also features completely custom taxiway line and edge lighting. Because this airport uses ATC, it suffers the same bug as my KEWR airport, which is that you cannot receive taxi in directions from ATC to gate, parking or fuel. Almost all arriving AI aircraft will also disappear from the taxiway after radioing in to ATC and failing to receive taxi instructions to the gate/parking. All traffic and instructions taxiing out works fine. All gate parking spaces have fuel, as well as the military parking and north helipad. GA aircraft can get fuel by taxiing over to the fuel station north of the GA tarmac. Taxiing onto a closed runway (marked with an X) will cause a crash. Broken-down taxiways are not good for your undercarriage! Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 003. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

PABR - Barrow - Alaska, USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The town of Barrow is in the far north of Alaska, and is best known in flying circles as the place where Wiley Post crashed his floatplane on takeoff and killed himself and Will Rogers. The crash was some 15 miles south of Barrow and was "assisted" by the mismatched fuselage, wings, and floats that had been assembled to create the floatplane. The Barrow population is largely Inupiat and totals some 4,400. The downtown area of Barrow is immediately north of the airport. The second and largest part of Barrow is further north past a string of lagoons and is locally called Browerville. To the northeast along the coast is the smallest part around what used to be the Naval Arctic Research Lab, and is now a college. To the east of this are the DEW buildings, plus two large navy hangars and the gravel runway that was used to serve the DEW station. The PABR runway is aligned 06-24 in FS9 and is 7,100 feet long and 150 feet wide, built on top of a gravel base and surround that copes with the underlying permafrost. There is PAPI at both ends and an ILS and approach lights on 06; 06 circuits are to the right. The airport notes include a warning that the apron is not a standard width and that large planes that are enroute to the far end of the runway will not be able to taxi past a plane parked at the gate and should use the runway as a taxiway, then turn and takeoff. FS9 AI cannot cope with that, so the apron here is wider. There are, in real life and the AI, daily flights by Air Alaska (three at least) and Era (several, and which is now called Ravn, hence the new hangar door motif) and air cargo flights by Northern Air Cargo and Everts, plus GA. The buildings have been made with photographic textures or textures made from reference photos. I decided that while 500+ scenery objects was probably ok for most people the required 900+ to "make" the town of Barrow would likely not be. The auto-generated FS9 town objects could not be left as Barrow with trees would not look at all like reality; I have "faded" the density of the town buildings into the distance from the airport.

Nome PAOM on the northwestern coast of Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
There are four main northwestern Alaska towns which have good airports and are serviced by Alaska Airlines. From these airports local flights connect to nearby villages, "nearby" in Alaska meaning up to 200 miles away. The northernmost is Barrow. Southwest of Barrow is Kotzebue, then Nome, and the furthest south is Bethel. The town of Nome is south of the Bering Strait on the southern coast of the Seward Peninsula, around 185 miles south of Kotzebue, with a population of about 3,800. It is the town that led to the creation of the most famous dogsledge race in the world, the Iditarod, which is based on the delivery to Nome of diphtheria serum during the blizzard conditions of the winter of 1925. The Nome airport (it currently has no other name) was originally built as the last of the refuelling airfields for planes being ferried to Russia during WW2. It has two runways, aligned 09-27 and 02-20 in FS9 (the wandering magnetic north has recently renamed the magnetic headings) and both of them around 6,000 feet with an ILS on 27. There is a modern airport layout diagram included showing taxiway names etc. Alaska Airlines, ERA, and Bering Air (which is headquartered in Nome), along with the shared cargo terminal for Northern Air Cargo and Everts Air, are all on the southern apron. The northern apron is mainly for GA, along with maintenance facilities, a garage building that also houses a weather bureau, and at the far northern end of runway 02-20 an apron and hanger for the Alaska Air National Guard. All AI aircraft in FS9 much prefer to use a runway that has an ILS and so will continue to use 09-27 even if the wind is from the north or south, right up until it reaches 30+ knots, so for AI realism in FS9 a permanent wind from the west would be the most realistic on a daily basis. There is also a small gravel strip just north of the town and this is included (94Z), as are some old line-of-sight radio communication reflectors on the hills above the town. There is a note about making adjustments to Ultimate Terrain Alaska-Canada regarding both realistic road lighting and also auto-generation.

CNZ3 - Chatham-Kent - Ontario, Canada V1 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is partly part of the Small Ontario Fields series. The airport ICAO was changed from CNZ3 to CYCK in November 2012; I have left it as it was. The runway too remains as it was a few years ago. Chatham is located 50 miles east of Detroit and 150 miles southwest of Toronto, between Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie, and the airfield is southeast of the town. There is a single asphalt runway 5,000 feet long and 75 feet wide, aligned 05/23 in FS9 but in fact in real life now 06/24 due to the wandering magnetic north. The apron is on the northern side of the runway at the eastern end, with added taxiways to cater for newer hangars wearing identical colour schemes. There is fuel, runway lighting, some taxiway lights, visitor parking on the grass, and plane maintenance in the large hangar beside the small terminal building on the north side of the apron. There is a train station in the middle of the town, and no scheduled flights to the airport that is 8 miles away; these two facts may be connected. Ditches along the road and around much of the airfield provide separation, which is why the fences are not continuous. If you are on the runway and find your path to the apron blocked by another plane that is stationary at the hold short, continue past the first turnoff to the threshold markers and turn off the runway and wait. The AI plane will then taxi out and you will have a clear path.

Vineland-Downstown Airport (28N), NJ Download

File Description:
Located 04 miles NE of Vineland, New Jersey on 45 acres of land, Vineland-Downstown Airport is a turf field that mainly services crop dusting operations for the surrounding farms. It also can serve firefighting aircraft - in fact the second runway (12/30) is specifically for that purpose along with agricultural use. This airport as modeled in FSX is kind of inbetween the current layout and the past layout. Based on various images both satellite and other, it seems 28N has undergone some serious expansion since the MSE textures were created. A large paved area to the west of the airport has been built and has parking aprons for up to around 25 aircraft. If you use an add-on traffic program you might want to think about reconfiguring it to assign more flights to this airport because it can certainly handle them now. You can fuel up in your plane by stopping near the fuel tank on the north end of the west tarmac or in your helicopter by landing on the concrete patch north of the runway. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview, the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 004. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

CYVQ - Norman Wells - Northwest Territories, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Norman Wells is the last of a series of airfields that are along (or close to) the Mackenzie River and in the Northwest Territories. It is 290 miles southeast of Inuvik and just 40 miles northwest of Tulita. The town growth was accelerated by the discovery of oil in the 1930's and the building of a small refinery in 1937, which is included here; there are now around 840 folks living in the town. The airport is adjacent to the town and has just under 6,000 feet of asphalt runway. North Wright Airways is headquartered there and this is reflected in the AI, which is for all of the newly-posted Mackenzie River postings. There is also helicopter AI, Canadian North, First Air, and there are GA flights. There is a mandatory frequency and the Norman Wells tower is manned 24 hours a day so you will follow atc instructions. In real life the terminal is on two levels; this steep change in terrain level is not possible to achieve in FS9 so although I made it as a two level terminal (ready for the FSX version?) it is here modified into a single level building. There are several "taxiways" which lead to the runway but are without hold short markings. These have been shown but are not included as AI routes. The helicopters presumably hover-taxi to the runway across grass (and snow) in real life; the AI helicopter will taxi on wheels. Note that at mixed-use airports planes and helicopters all follow the same rules of procedure.
