File Description:
Douglas DC-4/C-54 Skymaster for AI Traffic. The C-54 is the military transport variant of the DC-4 airliner, and has enjoyed a 70+ year service span, with a few airframes still in service for cargo work or aerial firefighting. In conjunction with Jake Burrus, I present an 8-LOD AI traffic model to bring this iconic transport aircraft to the flightsim world. This package includes 8 models, 92 repaints, and a Photoshop paint kit. The paints in this package focus on the aircraft use from the 1970s to present day. Aircraft model and master textures by Jake Burrus and Michael Pearson, flight dynamics and repaints by Michael Pearson.

| KRCA - Ellsworth Air Force base |

Images related to this file:
File Description:
Beginning with it's inception as a B-17 training field, Ellsworth has changed and upgraded itself through it's history as host to B-29's, B-36's, B-52s, and finally the B-1 Lancer. One of only two dedicated bases world-wide for the Lancer this base sports a combination of new and old with proud traditions. This package features custom FSDS scenery with seasonal ground cover. Although designed primarily for use with MAIWs B-1B Lancer package (maiw_ellsworth_afb_221720.zip) it will of course work with all aircraft. This version is an upgrade which corrects the file name, some errors in documentation and adds the missing taxi-signs. Thanks to folks for reporting the errors.

File Description:
Fairey Albacore Prototype V2.0
The Fairey Albacore was a British single-engine carrier-borne biplane torpedo bomber built by Fairey Aviation between 1939 and 1943 for the Fleet Air Arm and used during the Second World War. It had a three-man crew and was designed for spotting and reconnaissance as well as delivering bombs and torpedoes. The Albacore, popularly known as the "Applecore", was conceived as a replacement for the aging Fairey Swordfish, which had entered service in 1936. However, the Albacore served with the Swordfish and was retired before it, being replaced by the Fairey Barracuda and Grumman Avenger monoplane torpedo bombers. This Aircraft depicts the prototype Fairey Albacore L7074. | Moorea Airport, French Polynesia, NTTM |
|
File Description:
This version completely redoes the previous with a more accurate representation of the entire airport. It contains four distinct areas including the main terminal, a fictional sea plane pier and shelter, rudimentary hangars, and some Polynesian huts along with a pier and sail boats in the bay just down from the airport. This Island is the closest to Tahiti, and you can even see the Tahiti airport from it. The other outer Society Islands will be coming soon. It is suggested that you also download the file Fpsimesh.zip, which has been made for FS2004, and provides a very nice alternative to the boring terrain which FS has put in this most beautiful area of the world.

| MHTG - Toncontin Intl (Beta v0.6) |
|
File Description:
MHTG - Toncontin Intl (BETA v0.6). Featuring one of the most difficult approaches in the world for large jets, Toncontin Intl airport in Honduras is not well-represented in FSX default scenery. I have sought to rectify that situation with this scenery, which features several fully GMAX'ed buildings and extremely accurate positioning of all items. This scenery is more correctly called "incomplete" rather than "beta", but it is complete enough for me to release it in its present form, so that all of you can enjoy the thrill of flying into a more realistic MHTG using the infamous circling approach. I *highly* recommend you have some add-on terrain mesh installed to get the most realism out of the approach.

| LFPB 1960 Paris Le Bourget Version 2 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Le Bourget airport north of Paris is one of the world's oldest airports.
It dates back to the early days of World War One,
when land was seized for a military airfield.
The airport opened for commercial operations in 1919.
Possibly the most significant historical event was
Charles Lindbergh's landing there after his historic
solo transatlantic flight on Mai 21st, 1927.
We have produced this scenery to provide taxiways and details
as they were around 1960 in Paris le Bourget
We've also included new parking to allow the AI aircraft to taxi
correctly at the new (old!) airport.
New in version 2 : Upgraded terminal textures by Rui Cristina
and new custom made hangars.

| VARIG 1998 |
|
File Description:
In 1998, VARIG was still a huge legacy airline, but routes and frequencies were starting to be cut, which continued into the 2000s until their 2006 demise. MD-11s, DC-10-30s, and 747-300s mostly served long-haul routes such as NGO, NRT, LAX, MIA, JFK, MAD, BCN, LHR, CPH, ect, while the 767s did longer South America routes as well as CUN/MEX/JFK/MCO/MIA as well as flights to Spain and Portugal. VARIG's "around the world" GIG-GRU-JNB-BKK-HKG-BKK-JNB-CPT-GRU-GIG flight was flown with an MD-11 at the time, and I have assigned it to the "World Cup" livery MD-11, which means you will not see the aircraft much in Brazil but it will pop up abroad. VARIG flew many "tag on" flights, like LIM-LAX-NRT/NGO, LHR-CPH, MAD-BCN, MIA-MCO, ect, and there are many, many GIG-GRU and GRU-GIG flights that were part of international routes with no ticket sales in between. Between 0500 and 0700, there are many widebodies making this short flight. The 737-300s flew all over Brazil and to some South American countries. Rio Sul, who did the flights to CGH and SDU, is not included was released seperately on Avsim as "rio_sul_1998.zip". Though VARIG livery 737-300s flew on behalf of Rio Sul, Nordeste and PLUNA, those flights are not included and are included in those respective airlines. An MD-11 and a 737-300 were painted in special colors to celebrate the World Cup, and a 767-200 wore a special Star Alliance livery. The 747-300 in the Star Alliance colors only had them applied to one side of the aircraft and never flew revenue service in that livery, so it is not included. The rest of the fleet wore a mix of the 1997 introduced livery and the 1980s blue and white colors with the silver belly. The entire fleet on the FAIB 737-200, 737-300, 747-300, 767-200 and 767-300,and FSPX MD-11 by Raphael Rodrigues is included. The DC-10-30s on the AIM model by Jason King are on Avsim as "aim_dc1030_varig_pp-vmb_313514.zip" and "aim_dc1030_varig_oldcolors_307373.zip". Flightplans by Chasen Richardson. | RAF Bircham Newton - Norfolk, England |
|
File Description:
RAF Bircham Newton is a former Royal Air Force station located 2.1 miles (3.4 km) south east of Docking, Norfolk
and 13.4 miles (21.6 km) north east of King's Lynn, Norfolk, England.
The site was first used during the First World War and received the largest British bomber of the time, the Handley Page V/1500. They would have carried out bombing missions against Berlin but the Armistice was arranged before any missions were actually flown.
The airfield was equipped with one aircraft repair shed and three double bay general service sheds, although these had been demolished by 1937. It had two Belfast hangars, three C Type hangars, three Bellman hangars and ten Blister hangars. It operated through the Second World War as part of No. 16 Group RAF as part of Coastal Command.
No. 206 Squadron RAF was one of the squadrons being based there, on maritime patrol duties. Two satellite airfields, RAF Docking and RAF Langham were opened to accommodate units. In 1965 the airfield was used for evaluation trials of the Hawker Siddeley Kestrel V/STOL aircraft.
After closure as an operational airfield in 1966, the airfield became the home of the Construction Industry Training Board. The runways have gone, but the majority of buildings on the site, including some hangars and the control tower, remain in use by the CITB.The control tower was demolished in 2010 due to its poor condition. Constructionarium is also based within the estate, providing a week's practical learning opportunity for undergraduates
