A repaint for the Aerosoft PBY-5 Catalina in the colors of G-PBYA, originally ordered for the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Canso A amphibian, basically equivalent to the US Navy PBY-5A. It was built by Canadian Vickers at Cartierville, Quebec and was allocated their constructors number CV-283 before adopting the RCAF serial 11005. It was taken on charge by the air force on 27 October 1943 and initially saw service with 9 (Bomber Reconnaissance) Squadron at Bella Bella on the British Columbia coast between Vancouver and Prince Rupert. It was on their inventory from November to the following August. 9 Squadron had been based at Bella Bella for some time prior to the arrival of Cansos, having operated Supermarine Stranraers there. The Cansos were mainly operated from water despite their amphibious undercarriages and were used on day and night patrols, looking out for enemy submarines. By mid-1944, the threat of a Japanese invasion of Western Canada had receded and it was decided to disband 9 Squadron and close the station at Bella Bella. The Cansos, including 11005, were flown to Alliford Bay in the Queen Charlotte Islands, also in British Columbia, and transferred to 7 (BR) Squadron in August. The job was the same – anti-submarine patrols mostly – and 11005 remained with 7 Sqn until it too was disbanded on 25 July 1945. After a post-war career as transport and waterbomber, it was acquired by Plane Sailing in 2004, restored and repainted as a OA-10A of the USAAF. It is based in Duxford. | De Havilland DH-82 Tiger Moth (ZK-AQA & ZK-AYE) Nelson Aero Club |

This folder contains two repaints for Ant's DH-82 Tiger Moth Pro for P3DV4+. It shows two Tiger Moths of the Nelson Aero Club in New Zealand, ZK-AQA and ZK-AYE.
ZK-AQA, which was built in Hatfield and assembled in New Zealand in 1940 as NZ863. It was sold to a Mr. J. Reid in 1947. In 1950 it went to the Nelson Aero Club, and is shown in their service in this repaint. After several owners it wound up with the Auckland Gliding Club in 1961. In 1965, it crashed on take-off while towing a glider and it was damaged. Its remains were stored, but I'm not sure if they are still around.
ZK-AYE came from RAF stocks and was previously R4978.
It was built at Hatfield and assembled in NZ. It was shipped to New Zealand on "SS Rangitata" and BOC Unit 18 Rongotai 03 June 1940 and flew with No.3 EFTS, Harewood 1943-1944. After the war, it was issued free to Nelson Aero Club from Taieri on 15 September 1949 and entered the New Zealand Civil Aircraft Register as ZK-AYE on 02 February 1951. It was sold to A. Blechynden on 28 October 1957. The transfer was not notified to the CAA who cancelled it from the register on 28 November 1957. It rejoined the register with the new allocated registration of ZK-BVK in January 1958 and went to W. Scottof Karangahua in 1958. Unfortunately, it broke up in flight 10 miles north of Otorohanga on 07 May 1958 killing pilot and passenger. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Anthony Lynch

| P-51D G-SIJJ "Jumpin'Jacques" |

File Description:
"Jumpin Jacques" is a P-51D-20-NA model, built at North American’s Inglewood facility in California. Accepted by the USAAF on December 21 1944 as 44-72035, she was assigned to the 332nd fighter group in the Mediterranean Theatre of operations. The 332nd became very famous as the first all Afro American manned Group known as "The Tuskegee Airmen" although references to them at the time refer to them as "The Red Tails". She entered combat with the 15th Air force around March 1945 serving out the last few months of the war on escort and ground attack sweeps over Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. She still carries the battle scars to this day, with bullet repairs in several places on the fuselage. After the war, she was repatriated to the US and served with several ANG units. She was released from active duty in 1953 and in 1956 sold to Whitman Enterprises, CA, who registered her as N5411V.
She remained in the Us until 1981, when she was sold to Colombia. In 1989, she was bought by Jacques Bourret of Aero Retro, based in St.Rambert, France, with the registration F-AZMU. When looking for a colour scheme for the P-5, Jacques came upon the photo of a Mustang named "Jumpin’ Jacques" and could not resist adopting this as the new scheme. The original "Jumpin’ Jacques" was flown by Lt Jacques E Young of the 3rd Fighter Squadron, 3rd Air Commando Group, a unit that operated out of the Philippines.
At present, she is with the Hangar11 group of North Weald, UK, flying with the registration G-SIJJ. She has been repainted completely in early 2007, and it is this paintscheme that is depicted with this repaint.

| Douglas C-47 (N65276) Frontier Airlines |

This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of Frontier Airlines N65276, one of the C-47/DC-3's operated by Frontier Airlines. On April 21, 1957, at 1321 hours, N65276, operating as Frontier Airlines flight 7 departed Prescott, Arizona enroute to Phoenix under visual flight rules (VFR) with 21 passengers and one stewardess. As the flight proceeded southbound toward Phoenix the weather deteriorated to a point where the flight could no longer remain clear of clouds and maintain VFR. Captain Welling requested and received an instrument flight rules (IFR) clearance to proceed to Phoenix via Knob intersection thence to the Phoenix omni range, maintain 7000 feet. The crew never acknowledged receiving the clearance. It is suspected that the reason there was no response is that this was the precise moment that flight 7 struck the west ridge of a mountain at the 4500’ level southeast of Prescott shearing off twelve feet of the left wing and six feet of the left aileron. After declaring an emergency, flight 7 landed safely at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport without further incident. There was no injury to the passengers or crew. The wing was replaced and the aircraft continued flying for Frontier. Sadly, N65276 was lost in a tragic accident in 1967 on a snowy Denver day when a rudder-lock had been placed on an elevator and not removed prior to take-off. Both pilots were killed in the crash. A repaint for the Aerosoft PBY-5 Catalina in the colors of NZ4020 XX-W of the RNZAF. Bu08435, it flew with 6 Flying Boat Squadron. Following Japan's entry into the war in December 1941, the RNZAF had to switch from primarily training pilots to Europe into a combat force. No. 6 Squadron RNZAF was formed as an army co-operation unit at Milson in February 1942 flying Vickers Vildebeest and Hawker Hind aircraft. At the same time, No. 5 Squadron RNZAF moved to Fiji with Short Singapores and Vickers Vildebeest and Vincent biplanes. Modern maritime patrol flying boats (and more Hudson light bombers) were requested under Lend Lease and when the first Consolidated Catalinas arrived a detachment of men from No. 5 Squadron was assigned to convert to these types as No. 6 Squadron. Before the squadron was officially formed these men successfully completed their first air-sea rescue of a downed US aircrew. From May 1943 No. 6 squadron undertook action against the Japanese. The Squadron also conducted search and rescue missions for allied aircrew and seamen, and undertook many open sea rescues. XX-W arrived in Fiji on 21 October 1943. On February 18, 1944 it took off on a dumbo rescue mission to north Buka Island and landed to rescue two crew members and pick up a dead body from the crash of B-25, and successfully returned them to Halavo. On 26 May 1945, it stalled on landing at Hobsonville and was towed to its mooring by a crash boat. The induced damage resulted in the aircraft being written off charge on 18 June 1945.

| North American P-51D 52nd FG (WD-M) 'Pendaja / Miss Ruth' |

This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang (with AccuSim), in the colors of P-51D-5-NA 44-13287 WD-M, which was the aircraft assigned to Lt William Parent of the 4th FS/ 52nd FG, based in Italy. On the 1st of September 1944 however, it was being flown by Major Wyatt P. Exum during an escort mission to Hungary. It was Maj. Exum's first operational mission nin the ETO. On the way back from the mission, the squadron strafed an airfield, before spotting a moving train. Lts Strout and Wilson attacked the train, and as a result of Lt Wilson's attack, the engine blew up while he was overflying it, damaging his cooling system and setting the engine on fire. The fire quickly blew out, and Lt Wilson decided to make an belly landing in a recently plowed field. Over the radio, he heard Maj Wyatt Exum transmit "I'll be down to get you, Charlie!" and indeed he landed close to Lt Wilson's aircraft. Lt Wilson managed to turn Maj Exum's aircraft, as his tail wheel had become stuck in a rut in the field, and both men tried to squeeze into the cockpit. Meanwhile, men on horseback were approaching, shooting several holes in the aircraft. While Lt Wilson shot back with his .45, Major Exum gunned the engine, and they managed to take off with Lt Wilson half outside the cockpit with his .45. They flew the 400 miles back to Madna in Italy on their last fuel, and landed with other Mustangs landing from the other side. Major Exum received the Silver Star for this action, as well as from the undying gratitude and admiration from Lt Wilson Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

| North American P-51D 359th FG (CS-L) 'Daddy's Girl' |

This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang (with AccuSim), in the colors of P-51D-10-NA 44-14377 as flown by Captain Ray S. "X-ray eyes" Wetmore, of the 370th FS/ 359th FG. Born in Kerman, California, Ray Shuey Wetmore enlisted in the Army in November 1941 at age 18 and entered pilot training eight months later. Upon commissioning in March 1943 he joined the new 359th Fighter Group which was sent to England in October that year. Flying with the 370th Fighter Squadron, in February and March 1944 Wetmore scored his first 4.25 victories flying the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt. Upon conversion to P-51 Mustangs the group ranged farther afield and Wetmore became a 20-year-old ace with a double victory on May 19, downing two Me-109s. At month's end his tally was 8.25. At year's end he was a captain with nearly 15 kills, flying several Mustangs named Daddy's Girl.
He flew 44-14377 between 2 november 1944 and 10 march 1945, when it was damaged by Flak near Remagen. He scored nine victories with this aircraft, making it his most successful mount
Upon return from leave in the U.S., then-Captain Wetmore scored steadily from November 1944 to January 1945. In that period he downed 12 more enemy fighters including 4.5 FW-190s on January 14. His final victory was a rocket-powered Me-163 on March 15. His final score was 21.25 destroyed and one damaged in aerial combat, highest score in the 359th Fighter Group and eighth best of all Americans in the European Theater. On VE-Day he was a 21-year-old major and the highest scoring ace still on active duty in the 8th AF. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

| North American P-51D 353rd FG (YJ-L) "Willit Run?" |

This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang, in the colors of P-51D-10-NA 44-14771 YJ-L "Willit Run?" which flew with the 351st FS, 353rd FG from Raydon in the UK, with Maj Frederick LeFebre as its regular pilot. The P-51 is named “Willit Run?â€, but the nose art on this plane is not talking about this particular aircraft or any P-51 for that matter. It’s an inside joke of WWII vintage.
During WWII, as in every big war, private industry is called upon to produce war goods rather than civilian goods – “guns vs. butterâ€. Henry Ford took on a huge project to contract-build Consolidated B-24 Liberator bombers in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to be built on a farm which Henry Ford owned at Willow Run near Detroit. The facility was to be a prime example of Roosevelt’s “Arsenal of Democracyâ€, conceived and built on an unprecedented scale. Begun in April, 1941, it was the largest enclosed room in the world, with 3.5 million square feet. But Willow Run had a long and troubled construction and start-up time. So long and troubled a start-up, that after two years with little results the public became disillusioned with the project and derisively nicknamed the plant “Willit Run?â€.
Ford persevered however, and Willow Run finally hit its stride, eventually producing at the prodigious rate of 650 B-24 bombers per month by August, 1944. At war’s end, Willow Run had produced about half of the 18,000 B-24's which saw service in the war.

File Description: For Manfred Jahn's C-47 with Jan Visser's VVC, version 3.14 repaint of DDA
(Dutch Dakota Association) Classic Airlines. The only flying DC-3/C-47 in the
Netherlands at the moment. Hopefully joined by her sister (PH-DDZ) in the near
future. The new 2018 livery of the DDA Dakota is going back to it's roots, as it royal
colours in which it flew in the '50 and '60. Now updated with the "75 years"
logo. The aircraft is 75 years old this year. Besides the new logo, the following was updated:
- The Red colour was made a bit brighter __
- Adjustments on several locations (Reallife paint was not 100% the drawings ;-) __
- Several (small) details added on the outside, incl new prop textures __
- Several gauge bitmaps modified (most noticable the Airspeed indicator) __
- Some bitmaps of the VC modified __ For more info on the real DDA visit there site: https://www.dutchdakota.nl/en/home/ Besides the outside, the inside and the pilot's got a different look. Also
added some more details, especially at the tires and gear struts.
The VC textures are repainted to get the cockpit as much in line with the real one. Big thanks to Manfred Jahn and his team for creating this beautiful model and
Jan Visser and his team for all the work done to improve this model even further.
Ted "TuFun" Wolfgang for the improved engine textures. For this repaint the
excellent paintkit by Gordon "Gman5250" Madison was used. Works both in FSX
and Prepar3D. Special thanks to Paul van den Berg from DDA Classic Airlines
for providing the original paint drawings and beta testing the livery.

This folder contains a repaint for the P-51B/C model for FSX by Warbirdsim. North American Mustang Mk.III, FZ-152 SS, the aircraft of Wing Commander Stanislaw Skalski when he was the C/O of 133 (Polish) Fighter Wing in June 1944. He was the first allied ace of the war, having shot down six german aircraft by 16 september 1939. After the Polish defeat, he fled Poland and joined the RAF, fighting in the battle of Britain. In 1942, he was given command of the Polish Fighting Team (PFT), or so called "Cyrk Skalskiego" (Skalski's Circus) - a Special Flight consisting of fifteen experienced Polish fighter pilot volunteers. They fought in the North African campaign until may 1943. Skalski then became commander of 601 (County of London) Squadron the first Pole to command an RAF Squadron. He then took part in the invasion of Sicily and invasion of Italy. From December 1943 to April 1944 he flew with 131 Polish Fighter Wing. On 4 April 1944 he was appointed commander of No. 133 Polish Fighter Wing flying the Mustang Mk III. Stanislaw Skalski was the most successful Polish ace of WW II, with a record of 22 confirmed victories, 1 probable, and 1 damaged enemy aircraft. Three times he was awarded the British DFC, and he received many other medals. After the war he returned to Poland in 1947 and joined the Air Force of the Polish Army. In 1948 however he was arrested by the communist regime under the false charge of espionage. Sentenced to death, he spent three years awaiting the execution, after which his sentence was changed to life imprisonment in Wronki Prison. After the end of Stalinism in Poland, in 1956 he was released, rehabilitated, and allowed to join the military. He served at various posts in the Headquarters of the Polish Air Forces. Stanislaw Skalski died in Warsaw on 12 November 2004. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the warbirdsim paintkit.
