EDKL Germany-Leverkusen (Version 0.4) Download

File Description:
GERMANY - EDKL (Leverkusen-Kurtekotten) Version 0.4 This is the first airfield, that I've created with Airport Design Editor (ADE) of Jon Masterson. I've tried to do the joby as close as possible to reality. Nevertheless, I'm mainly using standard FSX library objects, so that the exact look, the colour of buildings and other objects will differ. In the archive you'll find some aerial photos of the real airfield, so that you can give yourself your own impression of how well the work has succeeded. - - - !! Important: In order to function properly, this scenery necessarily needs a free, third-party library, which you have to install too !! If you don't install this library, most of the objects of the scenery will NOT BE DISPLAYED !!! You can download this free library at: http://www.flightport.de/index.php?id=369 Scroll down a little bit and klick on "Download FlightPort-Gmx-Lib 4.2.7" I have the permission of the library designers to use this fine stuff...:-)

Quaqtaq CYHA in Hudson Strait, Quebec, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Quaqtaq is a small village of 310 or so inhabitants at N 61 W 69 37 on the Hudson Strait at the northwest corner of Ungava Bay. It's name has some connection with "tapeworm" in Inuit; there is a story but I won't recount it here. The village does not feature in FS9 but is included in this scenery with approximately the right shape. No village buildings were specifically modeled; they are hand-made non-specific village houses typical of the north. The airfield runway is 3,520 feet of gravel 100 feet wide and is at 103 feet above the shoreline. I added the roads, a new airfield background, plus of course there is the scenery file and the AFCAD and AI, which is an Air Inuit Dash 8-300. This is the last of a series in northern Quebec that all have similar terminal buildings; I know of others which have the same type of building but I have no photos to discover the differences.

EGDL RAF Lyneham, England, UK Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
These AF2 files are based on the file from David Mackie's RAF Lyneham scenery. However, they are also fully compatible with the default. They have been modified with guidance from various aerial photographs (eg. Google Earth etc). I have tested them with and without the Justflight VFR photographic scenery, and all the main airfield features have been aligned accordingly. So whatever combination of scenery you have on your system, there is a suitable afcad for you included within this release. It is FULLY compatible with the UK Military AI Project releases and many others eg. Ed Kooymans, MAIW etc. My motivation for this update was primarily to provide a better looking airfield for users of my Air Charter Express package, available from Avsim (extended search: author "Dan Foster", sort by release date). But given the lack of decent Lyneham AF2 files that can adequately handle the RAF Hercules component, I hope this release will appeal to a much wider base.

Gananoque CNN8 in Ontario, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Gananoque is an ex-RCAF airfield 20 miles east of Kingston and Lake Ontario and 5 miles north of the Thousand Islands area of the St. Lawrence River and the US border. The airfield was a relief landing field for Kingston during WW2 and opened in 1940 with the classic triangle of runways. It closed in 1945 and is now a sky diving centre, still with the original single hangar and control tower. Fuel is no longer sold there so the only reason to pass by is as part of a visit to the Thousand Islands area, or perhaps look at the Canso (Canadian name for the PBY Catalina) which I understand is in the hangar. Unfortunately, when I turned up there was nobody there. The runways and the taxiways and the apron are all still usable but in what can only be called a state of random disrepair. Centre lines and signage are luxuries. I have included a photo with runway headings indicated.

Vintage London Airfields Download

File Description:
Vintage London Airports for FS2004 Version 1.00, 31 March 2004 freeware by John McKeon, Limerick, Ireland ([email protected]) for Microsoft Flight Simulator FS9 (FS2004) Description: These scenery files represent three airfields, Brooklands, Croydon, and Hendon situated around London, England in the Golden Age of aviation, between 1930 and 1940. Brooklands, the oldest airfield in the UK, developed inside the classic banked oval motor race track opened in 1909, and was the birthplace of the British aviation industry and the starting point for a number of pioneering flights. Now sadly reduced, Brooklands holds an aviation museum and still operates as an airstrip. Croydon was the pre-war London Airport for Transatlantic and Far Eastern flights, replaced in 1944 by london Heathrow, and now built over. RAF Hendon was the venue for spectacular airshows before the war, was a crucial WWII airfield, and now holds the RAF museum and the Metropolitan Police training college.

Whale Cove CYXN in Hudson Bay, Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Whale Cove is a small village with 300 or so inhabitants at N62 W92 on the west shore of Hudson Bay, 40 miles south of the large airport at Rankin Inlet. The village does not feature in FS9, so the first thing to do was to add it; not all the smaller streets are in place but it is the right shape. I also had to add the roads, delete the stock airfield background, and add a new background. Plus, although the village isn't near the airfield I thought that if the place is called Whale Cove then the least I could do was create the cove, so there is also "whaleWATER" and "whalecoastDELETE", plus of course the scenery file and the AFCAD and AI. NOTE: If you have had a problem with textures not showing up in the villages in these northern sceneries there is a note on how to fix it.

Benina International Airport HLLB 2010 V.1 FS2004/FSX-sp2 Download

File Description:
Benina International Scenery. located in the town of Benina, 19 km east of Benghazi, from which it takes its name. The airport is operated by the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Bureau of Libya and is the second largest in the country after Tripoli International Airport. Benina International is also the secondary hub of both Buraq Air and flag carrier, Libyan Airlines. During World War II, the airport was used by the United States Army Air Force Ninth Air Force during the Eastern Desert Campaign. Known as Soluch Airfield, it was used by the 376th Bombardment Group, which flew B-24 Liberator heavy bombers from the airfield between 22 February & 6 April 1943. Once the combat units moved west, it was used as a logistics hub by Air Transport Command. It functioned as a stopover en-route to Payne Field near Cairo or to Mellaha Field near Tripoli on the North African Cairo-Dakar transport route for cargo, transiting aircraft and personnel.

RAF Greenham Common Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FS2004 scenery for RAF Greenham Common by Brian Clarke. The scenery uses objects from various scenery libraries, listed in the readme. I have also included some flightplans for C-130's, C-5's and C-141's to fly in and out of the base. These will also require separate downloads. RAF Greenham Common is a former Royal Air Force station in Berkshire, England. The airfield is located to the south-east of Newbury, Berkshire, about 50 miles (80 km) west of London. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War and the United States Air Force during the Cold War. After the Cold War ended, it was closed in 1993. The airfield was also known for the Greenham Common Women's Peace Camp held outside its gates in the 1980s. In 1997 Greenham Common was designated as public parkland.

Maniwaki CYMW in Ontario Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Maniwaki airfield is seven miles south of the town of Maniwaki and some 60 miles north of Ottawa, up the Gatineau River. There is a generous 5,000 feet of runway 03/21 that is 150 feet wide and in bad condition, so bad that there are now almost no markings of any sort (even a centre line, the apron has more paint than the runway!) and the whole lot is going to be redone next summer. The apron is large, and in the summer accomodates two Bombardier CL 415 fire fighting amphibians, which is why there is a large access platform loitering on the apron. There are only five hangars on the field with another one tucked into the trees behind a house. The hangars and the office/cafe building have been modelled specifically for this field. There are further buildings to the north which are not actually on the airfield and which house fire department personnel.
