B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2247 for The B24 Guy's OH Download

File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2247, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #13. Pilot: Lt. Edgar E. McElroy, Co-Pilot: Lt. Richard A. Knobloch, Navigator: Lt. Clayton J. Campbell, Bombardier: M/Sgt. Robert C. Bourgeois, Flight Engineer/Gunner: Sgt. Adam R. Williams. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Although little physical damage was inflicted on Japan, that day, the Japanese populace was demoralized, as suddenly, the war was brought to their homeland. Texture, and Damage Files included. Note the three windows in both port and starboard bulkheads. Enjoy!

Frankfurt Main Airport (EDDF) v8 - Manual installation Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This major update represents EDDF in the July 2015 timeframe.

This version includes further expansion of the Terminal 3 area now in use as extended apron parking, with new J and K ramps for airline, general aviation and cargo aircraft, new apron night lighting, vehicular traffic/roadways as well as support for 70+ airlines coded for AI traffic. In addition, this update features some brand new taxiways and updated airport navaids including use of the secondary 3.2 degree ILS approach paths for the Northwest runway.
For visual improvements, a new sound wall for the northern perimeter is included along with improvements in landclass to match Orbx FTX Global and inclusion of an optional 200Mb ground photo scenery layer providing even more realism.
Extended compatibility is also provided for P3D and GSX v1.9 (Ground Services for FSX) with the latter providing customized service vehicle parking for each parking position across the whole airport and in some cases, custom GSX pushback operations have been introduced at selected gates. The associated GSX airport .ini file is supplied in this package.
Last of all, more flexibility is delivered. This new scenery now comes supplied with 3 separate .BGL files - the standard .BGL AFCAD file together with the exclusions file ( _CVX) and the separate airport objects file ( _OBJ) so that the airport AFCAD can continue to be updated independently from the airport objects and exclusion files by users wishing to modify the airport layout to their own needs. Default FSX scenery is required.

Please consult the readme and the comprehensive help manual prior to installation and for more information.

De Havilland DH-82 Tiger Moth (ZK-AQA & ZK-AYE) Nelson Aero Club Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains two repaints for Ant's DH-82 Tiger Moth Pro for P3DV4+. It shows two Tiger Moths of the Nelson Aero Club in New Zealand, ZK-AQA and ZK-AYE. ZK-AQA, which was built in Hatfield and assembled in New Zealand in 1940 as NZ863. It was sold to a Mr. J. Reid in 1947. In 1950 it went to the Nelson Aero Club, and is shown in their service in this repaint. After several owners it wound up with the Auckland Gliding Club in 1961. In 1965, it crashed on take-off while towing a glider and it was damaged. Its remains were stored, but I'm not sure if they are still around. ZK-AYE came from RAF stocks and was previously R4978. It was built at Hatfield and assembled in NZ. It was shipped to New Zealand on "SS Rangitata" and BOC Unit 18 Rongotai 03 June 1940 and flew with No.3 EFTS, Harewood 1943-1944. After the war, it was issued free to Nelson Aero Club from Taieri on 15 September 1949 and entered the New Zealand Civil Aircraft Register as ZK-AYE on 02 February 1951. It was sold to A. Blechynden on 28 October 1957. The transfer was not notified to the CAA who cancelled it from the register on 28 November 1957. It rejoined the register with the new allocated registration of ZK-BVK in January 1958 and went to W. Scottof Karangahua in 1958. Unfortunately, it broke up in flight 10 miles north of Otorohanga on 07 May 1958 killing pilot and passenger. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Anthony Lynch

RAF Polebrook Download

File Description:
On June 28, 1942, RAF Polebrook was officially turned over to the USAAF and the airbase became the base of the 97th Bombardment Group, the first USAAF heavy bomber organization to arrive in the UK. It was designated USAAF Station 110. The 97th BG was assigned to the 1st Combat Wing, at RAF Bassingbourn. It's operational squadrons were divided between Polebrook and RAF Grafton Underwood: 340th Bomb Squadron (RAF Polebrook) 341st Bomb Squadron (RAF Polebrook) The 97th BG conducted a total of 14 missions from Polebrook, attacking airfields, marshalling yards, industries, naval installations, and other targets in France and the Low Countries. The group sortied 247 aircraft, dropped 395 tons of bombs on Nazi-controlled territory, and lost 14 aircraft. On October 21, 1942, the 97th Bomb Group was transferred to the Twelfth Air Force in the Mediterranean theater and Polebrook was unoccupied until April 1943. 351st Bombardment Group (Heavy) On April 15, 1943, the 351st Bomb Group arrived at RAF Polebrook. It was assigned to the 94th Combat Wing, also at Polebrook. The group tail code was a "Triangle J". It's operational squadrons were: 508th Bomb Squadron (YB) 509th Bomb Squadron (RQ) 510th Bomb Squadron (TU) 511th Bomb Squadron (DS) Boeing B-17G-85-BO Flying Fortress, Serial 43-38465 of the 510th Bomb Squadron. This aircraft survived the war and returned to USA on 8 June 1945 Douglas-Long Beach B-17G-30-DL Flying Fortress Serial 43-38116 of the 509th Bomb Squadron. The 351st's first completed combat mission took place on May 14, 1943, when 18 B-17's targeted a German Luftwaffe airfield at Kortrijk, Belgium. As the war progressed, the 351st operated primarily against strategic objectives in Germany, striking such targets as ball-bearing plants at Schweinfurt, communications at Mayen, marshalling yards at Koblenz, a locomotive and tank factory at Hannover, industries at Berlin, bridges at Cologne, an armaments factory at Mannheim, and oil refineries at Hamburg. This is for FSX and you will need to have Ted Andrews's RAF Hangars Library and his other great RAF Buildings. They can be found on AVSIM. Search the FSX section for "Ted Andrews" - you'll find loads of his scenery object files for RAF airfields. Follow his instructions on how to install them.
