Republic P-47D-20 365th FG (B4-W) "Mortician's Delight" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-5-RE 42-8438 B4-W "Morticians Delight", one of the P-47's flown by Lt Neal Worley of the 387th FS/ 365th FG. Lt. Worley's first two P-47's were called 'Kansas Jack', referring to his Emporia, Kansas upbringing, but he did not feel like naming his third aircraft. His crew came up with 'Morticians Delight', and Worley himself painted the picture on the engine cowling. In 127 missions, he crashed 5 Thunderbolts. His coolness under pressure was immortilized on July 26th, 1944. A 20 mm shell hit his right wheel well during an attack on Sauveur Lendelin, jamming the wheel. He discovered that only the left wheel would lower, but would not retract, so bellying in was no longer an option. He circled for over an hour, burning fuel, and then landed on only the left gear, easing the fighter down. When the right wing dipped just enough, he hit the left brake, and the P-47 spun to a stop. His landing was captured on film, and used in the movie "Fighter Squadron". The aircraft was repaired, and flew missions the very next day, as a testament to the ruggedness of the Thunderbolt. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Martin Catney.

Republic P-47D-22 365th FG (D5-P) "Astra" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-22-RE 42-6319 D5-P "Astra", the assigned aircraft of Captain George Porter of the 386th FS/365th FG as it looked in August 1944, while based at Juvincourt (A-68), France. George Porter gained the tongue in cheek title of 'flak analyst extraordinaire' after a june 1944 mission, when the 386th FS lost three aircraft to AA. During debriefing, he referred to "only moderate, and only fairly accurate flak". On 5 september 1944, he chased a Me109 to the deck, and as he closed to 500 yards, the German pilot suddenly bailed out. Porter filmed the crash and pilot on the ground and was disappointed he hadn't even fired a shot. He needed to be convinced by intelligence officers to submit a claim. He received a silver star for an action on october 12, 1944, when he encountered about 40 german fighters.Attacking four, he hit one when his aircraft, D5-P, started leaking oil over the windshield. He attacked another FW190 nonetheless, scoring hits. He later bellied in near Diest, Belgium, severly damaging Astra, but remaining unhurt himself. The tail on his aircraft was a replacement from an older aircraft, which explains the wrong serial on the tail. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Martin Catney.

Republic P-47D-20 365th FG (B4-J) "the Madam" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-15-RE 42-75845 B4-J "The Madam". It was the assigned aircraft of Lieutenant John H. Fetzer, from Shreveport Louisiana, of the 387th FS/ 365th FG during D-Day. He was flying as wingman of Capt. Arlo Henry on 6 June 1944, D-Day, when they spotted a number of Tiger tanks trying to hide in a castle. Capt Henry blew up the castle with his bombs, while Lt Fetzer attacked a Tiger with his 1000 lb bombs. His first bomb exploded harmlessly in a field, but his second "my contribution to D-Day" exploded right behind the Tiger, flipping it over 3 times. As for 42-75845, she proved to be a very strong lady. It began its career with the initial start of operations of the 365h FG, with Lt. Fetzer as its original pilot. He named the aircraft after his future wife, Helen. It flew its 200th mission in March 1945, and continued right to the end of the war, as the only remaining original Thunderbolt of the 365th. She was shot up several times, had wings and engines replaced and countless holes patched, but its crew chief, Joe DiMaio remarked that as long as 'the Madam' came back, he would keep her flying, and he did. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Martin Catney.

Boeing B314 Clipper for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 Download

File Description:
Boeing B314 Clipper v1.0 for X-Plane 6.4/6.51- Built for Pan American Airways to expand their Clipper fleet, they also saw service for the US Navy and BOAC. The "clipper" name was appropriate because the Sikorsky S42, the Martin M130 (also available for X-Plane on AVSIM) and the Boeing B314 opened up long distance air lanes in 1930's and 40's the same way that the clipper ships opened up sea trade in the late 1800's. The model flies very well and is as accurate as the limited plans available to me. Due to limitations in shaping airfoils the outside rudders are actually engine nacelles (jets with 5 lb of thrust) and the lower wing is also an engine nacelle. The rear section of the fuselage is actually a gas tank or float section used to get better detail in the fuselage. As all of my models the exterior paint and panel can use a lot of work. What you see here is approximately 6-8 hours of modelling/decorating? work plus 16-20 hours or more of test flights. Number built: total 12, 6 A314's built with upgraded engines and increased range Engines: 4 - 1,600 HP, Wright R-2600, Twin Cyclone ,14 cylinder, air-cooled, radial engines. Wing Span: 152 ft. Length: 106 ft Max GW: 84,000 lb. Max level speed: 193 mph Cruising speed: 183 mph Range: 3,500 (5,200 A314) miles First flight: June 7, 1938, last retirement 1951. Ceiling: cruise 13,400, maximum 19,600 feet Accommodation: 10 crew, 74 (36 night) passengers.

Sproat Lake CAA9 on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Sproat Lake is in the middle of southern Vancouver Island, 6 miles west of the town of Port Alberni and 30 miles directly south of Comox Valley Airport. It is some 14 miles long and around the eastern shores has a large number of houses with docks and boats. Plus, in the offshoot called Upper Sproat Lake, it has the Sproat Lake Tankerbase CAA9, home to two rather large Martin Mars firefighting planes. Their history is interesting, and their capacity for carrying water for dousing forest fires during the summer months has kept them in use since their construction in the 1940's. They have finally been retired from fighting fires in 2013, having been first retired from military service in 1958. This scenery is made for use with Ultimate Terrain; there was another version made several years ago which either predated or ignored UT. This scenery is for the month when a Mars was being repainted before retiring to a museum as a military plane, date unkown but perhaps 2013? If it is a time when there were three in existance then it is sometime in the 1960's; take your pick. Because of hills adjacent to the lake the landing of the AI Mars may or may not take place, depending on wind direction and whether or not it flies into rock before landing. Take off and departure seem to be more reliable than landing on a daily basis. The Mars flies to Vancouver Harbour, but only in theory; it does not land and park as there is no parking available for such a large aircraft. The AI follows in the second post.

Canadair CL-215 sound.cfg V.3 Download

File Description:
This sound.cfg replaces the one uploaded in August 2008. Both the interior and exterior sounds have been improved. Please replace the sound.cfg you already downloaded by this new one. In my search for a good sound for the Canadair CL-215 amphibious fire tanker, I struck on the fabulous soundpack for the beautiful Douglas A-26 Invader of Milton Shupe and the Sim-Outhouse Team, made by David C. Copley. Most of the wav-files in this soundpack are recordings of the Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp R-2800 engines of an A-26 Invader. Having studied the Invaders sound pack, I discovered that by ‘tweaking’ the sound.cfg, particularly with regard to the exterior sounds, it became possible to develop a good exterior CL-215 sound (2 engines). No changes were made to the wav-files, as I didn’t want to modify them; the wav-files just sound wonderful. In order to make your system reproduce the CL-215 sound, first download from www.sim-outhouse.com the great Douglas A-26 Invader package and enjoy flying that plane. Then copy the sound pack of the A-26 to the CL-215, and replace the existing sound.cfg by the revised one you just downloaded. You can also use this sound for the Martin 4-0-4. This CL-215 sound has been tested in FS2004 only. Special thanks to David C. Copley who gave his permission to upload the modified sound.cfg as freeware, with limited distribution, at Sim-Outhouse.com and Avsim.com. Many thanks also to Milton Shupe. Author of the original sound pack: David C. Copley. Modified sound.cfg: Maarten Brouwer.

UV-4 V/STOL UAV (Experimental) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Created as a means to display the potential of a ducted fan rotorcraft powered by multiple electric motors. The system made its launch in 2015, since then advances and improvements have been completed to the airframe and power plant configurations. Delivering an efficient means of lift using smaller and therefore quieter propeller then traditional helicopters. The function of the ducted system serves as a mean of channeling pressure and vectoring thrust. Giving the UV-4 a unique control system and improved maneuverability. The design of a low speed "T-Tail" houses the function of yaw control with multiple rudders located on its vertical stabilizer, and elevators on its horizontal stabilizer. In addition the rear ducted systems may pivot up to less then sixty degrees forward and backwards to deliver the vector thrust where the aircraft needs it to be. The cargo bay may house up to four thousand pounds of deliverable payload. As its max gross take-off weight is designed to reach twelve thousand five hundred pounds. The electrical systems on the aircraft use a network of batteries, generators, and its two electrical motors. Proving five hundred horse power each, totaling an amount of one thousand horse power. An electrical charge then powers the mechanization used to spin the propeller to its desired rate per minute. Perhaps in the near future an additional system can be created to then generate electrical charges created by the spinning propeller of inside the duct back into the aircraft to then power systems or recharge the battery. We forward to providing this aircraft on Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Lockheed-Martin Prepar3d, and X-Plane 10 for download by the end of 2016. Aircraft by Rob Gomez & Kris Pyatt

Prepar3Dv4/v5 POSKY Boeing 747SPv4 PBR Conversion Base package Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Project Opensky Boeing 747V4 Classic Series PBR Native Conversion for P3DV4 and V5 is a newly updated conversion of the old top-hit freeware add-on aircraft series that is known to the Flight Simulation Community since FS2002, FS2004, and onwards to FSX and has been loved by thousands of Flight-simmers across the world because of its simple-but-great model, and completely free of charge. But with newer flight simulators on the line under the ESP Flight Simulator Type such as Lockheed Martin Prepar3DV4 and V5, the Project Opensky Boeing 747V4 Classic Series (which was only made for FS9) were slowly falling behind and couldn’t keep up with the current flight simulators today. And now, for the first time in 2022; this newly-updated conversion has surfaced to the public and in the eyes of the flight simulation community. Destined to fly in the current flight simulators of today like Prepar3D V4 and Prepar3D V5, this classic freeware had continued to live on into the new era, bringing nostalgia not only just to those who flown it before in FS2004, but also for a new generation who can relive classic scenes of the Jumbo Jet’s illustrious history through this iconic freeware add-on aircraft series in today’s flight simulator platforms. It finally received an all new makeover! And the permission to convert the models was acquired from the developer who was the mind of the POSKY 747V4 Classic Series: Hiroshi Igami. And he gave our conversion team the green light to do so. Leading to this conversion to surface in the public for the first time. Follow the instructions in the Readme txt file. And read the documentation for more info and the credits on this base package. If you have any questions/comments or any problems while installing this base package, feel free to contact me.
