File Description:
Ireland VFR Small Airports Part 3. This scenery consists of 1. EIKY Kerry International Airport, 2. EIBN Bantry Airfield, 3. EIBR Birr Airfield, and 4. Clonbullogue Airfield.
Kerry is situated in the South West of Ireland and serves as a gateway to the world famous Lakes of Killarney, The Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. Bantry is ideal for visiting the rugged beauty of West Cork. Clonbullogue is home to the Irish Parachute Club and is situated approximately 30 miles southwest of EIDW Dublin. Birr is almost in the centre of Ireland and is home to a very active group of GA aviators.
The scenery has been created almost entirely from real photographs and all objects have been placed accurately using ordinance survey data and satellite imagery. It also includes animated marshallers, aircrew and passengers together with animated animals and vehicles. Appropriate sound effects have been added to each file together with smoke and strobe lighting. Full night lighting is included, with flood and wash lighting of the aprons and carparks. Each airport has been sub-divided into seperate elements, which can be switched on or off according to the users preference and hardware setup. It caters for GA enthuasiasts and for those who prefer to fly the heavies.
This scenery has not been designed as a standalone, it calls on many objects from my Ireland VFR Small Airports parts 1 and 2. It has also been designed to complement photographic scenery but will also work with the default terrain and I have inlcuded a set of landclass and photoreal textures. It also includes an extended set of photoscenery treescapes. Full installation instructions, settings, credits and tips can be found in the README file.
Please enjoy and I hope you like my airports as much as I enjoyed making them.

| INS Vikramaditya |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
INS Vikramaditya was commisioned into the Soviet Navy as Baku in 1988. It is the third and final remaining Kiev class carrier, the other two being Admiral Kuznetsov and Lioning. Like Lioning, Vikramaditya was purchased from Russia but that is pretty much where the similarity ends. The Chinese quietly bought Varyag under the guise that it would be converted into another floating hotel or casino as had been done several times in the past; then, almost to everyones surprise, they re-built and announced they had an aircraft carrier. India contracted with Russia to complete the refit which began an epic saga of international proportions that encompassed espionage, honey traps and logarithmically expanding budgets. Originally promised for 2008, the latest quotes expect delivery in October/November 2013.
I think the carrier looks very sporty or yacht-like, with the ski-jump bow and the oversized island which has been criticized for being too far into the middle of the deck; it is said to be India's final non-indigenous warship and future flagship to serve for the next 20 to 30 years.
This model is intended for placement with AI Carriers, by Lamont Clark. It has animated radars, working cables, catapults and deck lights. The IFLOS is calibrated, but the catapults will only activate if the airplane deploys a launch bar. The Vikramaditya uses retractable chocks to allow aircraft to develop full thrust, but I could not find a way to lock an aircraft to represent the STOBAR configuration without using catapults. I did not define the elevators because they do not operate and are in the middle of the deck. There are two ships included for escort, the INS Talwar and a Russian Fregat II class ASW destroyer. They have hard decks and night lighting, animated radars, funnel smoke, etc.

File Description:
This aircraft is the advanced upgrade from previous versions, and there are no more upgrades scheduled for the future. The paint is fictional, but illustrates what would be used for Charter flights by some airlines. Even in that case, I tried to make it as real as possible, as you will see. All authors credited other than myself are not involved with any of the engine or aerodynamic or detailed corrections. I even enhanced the parking data, callsign used, lighting effects, gear, MOI, weight & ballance, flaps and smoke for realism. There are no known issues with this model as it stands, and it is now possible to easily achieve FL510 and cruise over 8,000 nm, even with 16X simulation speed activated using auto-pilot. This perfection is based on real world aero/engine dynamic data and formulas employed within the aircraft.cfg and .air files. Flight Tuning is no longer used in this model. There is no other FSX Gulfstream G-550 available anywhere (Free or Payware) that includes all of this realism, and if there is in the future, it was copied from this data. Don't be fooled. I don't expect any world-wide awards or the "Nobel FS Prize" for any of this, but your comments related to the results will be appreciated, and acknowledged. Please understand that this work required many hours of study and testing, and is offered free for Educational Purposes primarily. The results illustrate the realism of the G-550 in almost every aspect imaginable, which is possible with all FSX aircraft when you know how and what is needed. File Description:
Sinapore Airlines is the launch customer for the A359ULR. The aircraft is configured in a two-class layout, with 67 Business Class seats and 94 Premium Economy Class seats. She is designed for long range flights of over 9,700 nm. Fuel has been increased at the expense of souls on board. The primary use will initially be for routes between WSSS and KJFK (or KLGA), but many others of similar distance can be added later. The flight number on this aircraft reflects the first flight from KJFK-WSSS which is only 8,275 nm (Contrary to media reports of over 9,000 nm) and about 17.5 hours duration (see You Tube video on this flight). The aircraft follows normal flight rules with a higher flight level and longer range. Almost everything is computer controlled and monitored throughout the flight, from take-off to landing. Two of Four pilots monitor the flight at all times, and shift changes occur on a schedule that allows appropriate rest for the crew. The passengers enjoy accommodations unlike provided in any other aircraft or flight, with plenty of meal servings and entertainment options. To see the seating chart, enter the Airbus A359ULR Singapore Airlines folder and click the icon named “SeatGuru Seat Map Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900 ULR.html†and the seating map will appear. The model here has ground servicing animation. Please review the ReadMe_FSX.txt document for further info on this. Read A359ULR details.txt for aircraft details. | Antonov AN225-210 "Colossus" |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The AN225-210 is the result of a proposed 1 to 2-year projected modernization program which will
convert the current AN225 into a much more useful and capable aircraft than the already infamous
ÐœÑ€Ñ–Ñ (Mriya) . The latter First flew on December 21, 1988, and is currently 33 years old. There have
been a few maintenance periods and 1 major avionics modification, but otherwise is too old for reliable
future use. The 2 year process involves reconstructing the landing gear system to support much more weight. The
new engines are much more powerful, but lighter in weight, and much more fuel efficient. The wings
are replaced with similar wings with more wing-area built of modern light-weight material which gives
her higher lift capacity. The cargo hold area is reinforced for heavier weight limits. The crew areas
(upper deck, fore/aft main wing) are modernized for long duration flight, and two galleys are included.
The fuel tanks (9) now also involve 3 tanks in the upper center portion of the fuselage in order to put
less stress on the wings. The pressure system is modernized to achieve 6,000 feet cabin pressure up to
FL470. The internal and external lighting is fully modernized, the former for a pleasing effect and the
latter for distinct recognition during flight. Overall, the aircraft does not appear different to the
common observer.

| B-52J |

File Description:
Since it became operational in 1955, the B-52 has been the main long-range heavy bomber of the U.S. Air Force. It first flew on Apr. 15, 1952. Nearly 750 B-52s were built when production ended in Oct. 1963. This "J" model is the future re-engined "h" model 60-0042 of the 917th Wing AFRC based at Barksdale AFB (KBAD). She flies higher, further, and faster than any previous version. The aircraft can cruise at 380 KIAS at 500 ft agl over about 5,000 nm which makes her capable of reaching targets within enemy airspace anywhere on the globe without being detected by radar until it's too late. Her normal high altitude cruise speed has been increased to Mach .88 above FL550E over 9,000 nm without refueling, and her service ceiling has increased to FL570E. The 50,000 lb payload is still nominal, but due to the lighter engines she now has more accomidations for the crew, and does not require refueling very often. She can range much further with less speed (i.e., Mach .85), but there is normally no need for that. This aircraft is designed to fly like the real thing. It is likely one of the best B-52 models available at this time. I have test-flown this aircraft around the globe several times to reassure myself that all is well. You will not have a bouncing effect occur when cruising with 16x speed acceleration and autopilot engaged because all aerodynamics and balance are perfected to a very low margin of error, or no error margin at all. Please be sure to read the INSTRUCT.TXT file for extended details. | C-17 Globemaster III/ER |

Images related to this file:
File Description:
The C-17 Globemaster III/ER is a heavy cargo aircraft used by several foreign militaries, but primarily the U.S. Air Force. She is designed to do many things that other cargo aircraft cannot, based on her unique design. This version incorporates the extended range fuel tanks. The real world aircraft can actually use reverse thrust in flight, up to 100% reverse power, during descents or on the ground. It is also the only heavy aircraft in the world with a wing efficiency factor over 1.0, which is theoretically impossible, but true. All of the dynamics in this model are correct down to the inch, so she does almost everything the real aircraft does. Some things are not possible in FSX, including reverse thrust while in flight, but full flaps/slats employed in a steep descent will adequately simulate this effect without damage to the model while in flight. The landing gear are authentic and capable of heavy loads. The weight and balance is authentic. The fuel tanks are authentic. The aircraft name, tail number, location, and callsign are authentic. The calculated range(s) listed are all authentic, understanding that most public data released is based on average range, at average altitude, and normal payload missions. The sound is authentic. The engine dynamics are authentic. The panel used is the best I could find, is fairly authentic, and requires some pre-flight study before flight. All-in-All the aircraft is very simple to fly, but requires some study to operate correctly, so I recommend all simmers watch as many "You Tube" videos, read as many authentic sites, and study as much as possible about this aircraft before operation. Images related to this file:
File Description:
THIS IS MY FINAL AN-22 VERSION: Unveiled to the West in 1965, the Antonov An-22 was the world's largest aircraft, until the advent of the Lockheed C-5A Galaxy. Powered by 4 contra-rotating turboprops, the design remains the world's largest turboprop-powered airplane. The An-22 was originally built for the Soviet Air Force and Aeroflot, the state airline. A total of 68 aircraft were built during 1965-1975, from which 2 never flew, 19 have been preserved, and 33 removed from service. Currently only 7 are in service. Six of them are used by the Russian Air Force and one (UR-09307) belongs to Antonov Design Bureau, used for civil needs, and operates out of UKKM. The AN-22 is designed to carry heavy loads of 80 tonnes over a 3,000 nm range at high speed and moderate altitude. The civilian model is used for long and medium range flights with updated avionics and flight controls. The wing has a forward and rear sweep effect with a low taper ratio and moderate wing area for it's size. The tail includes twin vertical fins that help maintain stability. The engines are constant speed turboprops that include 2 four bladed contra-rotating props with auto-pitch, and this gives her a thrust rating of 15,211 shp and a fuel efficiency of .353 lb/hp/hr. The cargo area is 14 ft high and wide, and 108 ft long. All fuel is contained within the wings and in the upper fuselage (7 tanks). She has 12 wheels that carry most of the weight, and two steering wheels located behind the crew cabin. Cargo is loaded through the rear loading ramp. The cockpit is located high, as well as the crew quarters. Additional passengers (when present) are seated below the cockpit forward. | Pagasa Island, Philippines |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Pagasa Island is a jewel in the South China Sea. It is the one pictured - an emerald splash in an azure sea slashed by a coral runway - whenever new collisions or confrontations are reported in the news for the region. Occupied continuously by the Philippines since 1971, historical use dates back to the Han dynasty, which many believe forms the basis of the Chinese claim to the island. Each country has it's own interpretation of international law and the Filipinos are clearly banking on the precedence of continuous occupation, at no small expense, as Rancudo Field is the farthest airport from Manila within the Philippine sphere of control.
Surprisingly, the geography of the island serves to capture and retain rainwater, although the aquifer is stagnant and the water must be treated for consumption. Sea life remains abundant, poachers take coral heads and sea turtles. There is a solar farm and recently installed solar street lights, fuel for the generators is a precious commodity this far from the mainland.
Sadly, nature may solve the struggle for possession by withdrawing the island from the arena. It is believed that the construction of the runway may have compromised the islands basic integrity, allowing it to crumble into the sea. Whatever the cause, the evidence is clear. Bunkers built during the Japanese occupation in WWII are already slipping beneath the waves and the rate of salt water encroachment has been recorded at close to 6" per day.
There are some things to explore, the grounded BRP Laneo Del Norte to the west; over to the north near the resort grounds are a dugout fishing canoe and some authentic Philippine bangka boats; you may want to load up and head east to do some low warning passes over the Chinese fishing fleet. Standing at the east end of the field, you can just barely spot the China Coast Guard cutter's smoke on the horizon.
The tower is marked by a bright strobe that fires once every five seconds and at night it is bright enough to guide you back to the island from the distance of the fleet. There are no published procedures and the tower is not staffed. Airport ICAO is RPPN.
