This is partly part of the Small Ontario Fields series. The airport ICAO was changed from CNZ3 to CYCK in November 2012; I have left it as it was. The runway too remains as it was a few years ago. Chatham is located 50 miles east of Detroit and 150 miles southwest of Toronto, between Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie, and the airfield is southeast of the town. There is a single asphalt runway 5,000 feet long and 75 feet wide, aligned 05/23 in FS9 but in fact in real life now 06/24 due to the wandering magnetic north. The apron is on the northern side of the runway at the eastern end, with added taxiways to cater for newer hangars wearing identical colour schemes. There is fuel, runway lighting, some taxiway lights, visitor parking on the grass, and plane maintenance in the large hangar beside the small terminal building on the north side of the apron. There is a train station in the middle of the town, and no scheduled flights to the airport that is 8 miles away; these two facts may be connected. Ditches along the road and around much of the airfield provide separation, which is why the fences are not continuous. If you are on the runway and find your path to the apron blocked by another plane that is stationary at the hold short, continue past the first turnoff to the threshold markers and turn off the runway and wait. The AI plane will then taxi out and you will have a clear path.

St Thomas is a town in Ontario around 12 miles south of London and less than 10 miles from the north shore of Lake Erie, with a population of just under 40,000. The airport (actually more of an airfield, as there are no scheduled flights) has three runways typical of an ex-military field, with one remaining hangar from RCAF flight training times in the 1940's, and the east-west runway now extended to just over 5,000 feet. The main presence at CYQS is a company in the crop seeding and spraying business over a wide area of Ontario; as a result there are several AT-802 planes based there which are included here as AI planes and also as parked scenery objects. To the west of the original apron area there are added taxiways to cater for a herd of new individual hangars wearing orange and white uniforms. There is fuel, runway lighting on 09-27, taxiway lights, visitor parking on the edge of the apron, and maintenance companies in the large hangars, plus a flight training group. A small terminal building sits quietly between hangars, waiting. Ditches along the road and around much of the airfield provide separation, which is why the fences are not continuous. I presume that the warning balls on the electricity cables were found to be necessary to persuade pilots not to land there; probably ski planes in winter, they tend to land anywhere so long as it has snow on it. Stratford Airfield in Ontario Canada, a place what young singer Justin Bieber called his home town. And now you are able to land there, just as he will certainly do many times. The Airfield ICAO Code changed in September 2009 to CYSA. To prevent trouble with Flight Simulator 9 I keep it the way (old CNM4)! So don't wonder!

Prepar3D Scenery--Calgary International Airport (CYYC), Alberta, Canada. This is Ray Smith's file CYYC_RS_FSX.ZIP, modified with his permission. This airport update is for CYYC with two optional files made only for Prepar3D, one version with the crosswind runways operating where all four runways will be used for takeoff and landing and one version as the default runway operation. Assigned parking as per their website with extra parking. The Calgary Airport Authority will be implementing concourse name and gate number changes, these are now updated to this plan, the new IFP international concourse under construction with many of the buildings added, the new runway 17L/35R now included with ILS also added for it, taxiways and taxi signs updated to the latest charts, Barlow Trail NE removed, lighted helipad, extra fuel trucks, support vehicle roads rebuilt and many other scenery improvements, airport views are from inside the new control tower (when in tower view) and the old control tower dismantled. | Lucky Lake CKQ5 in Saskatchewan, Canada |

File Description:
The village of Lucky Lake is 80 miles south of Saskatoon, with a small population of less than 300, most of whom are dependant on agriculture for income, either directly or indirectly. Marijuana is a recently introduced crop after the failure of a government-financed potato growing operation called SPUDCO. The village was previously known as Devil's Lake (don't ask me, I don't know). The airfield is half a mile north of the village, with an asphalt runway just over 3,000 feet long, lit, and aligned 07-25 in FS9; this has now changed to 08-26 with the wandering magnetic north. Circuits on 25 are right handed to avoid over-flying the village. 100LL fuel is available.

Whaletown is a float base serving a village on Cortes Island, another one of the many islands squeezed between Vancouver Island and the mainland at this northern end. At this island passengers are delivered by amphibious Grumman Goose from Port Hardy, the main airport of the northern half of Vancouver Island with daily scheduled flights onward to and from Vancouver International. The AI was included with the post of Port Hardy. Regretably, the amphibious Goose behaves as if it is on land and moves on the water with it's wheels extended; there is no way around this. This scenery is a modification of a post made some years ago that did not support AI. In my FS9, close to Whaletown, there was an FS9 or Ultimate Terrain fault consisting of a long straight beach sticking out into the sea for a few thousand feet. This scenery now deletes that.

| High Prairie CZHP in Alberta, Canada |

High Prairie is at 1,974 feet asl, 15 miles west of Lesser Slave Lake, 70 miles southeast of Peace River CYPE, and 90 miles east of Grande Prairie CYQU (both already posted). The town has a population of around 2,600 and is based on agriculture, forestry, and oil and gas. The initial impetus behind its growth was the routing of the railroad in 1914. The airport is around 2 miles south of the town, and is fairly basic. There is a single runway just under 4,000 feet of asphalt aligned 07-25. There is a daily flight and around 2010 this was by Central Mountain Air. I believe that there is now a newer terminal building, but a lack of information leaves the older one in place here. There are runway and taxiway lights, unlike some of my recent posts. I made this to fill in the gap between Edmonton and the airports to the northwest such as Grande Prairie.

| Aupaluk CYLA in northern Quebec Canada |

File Description:
This is a very small village in northern Quebec, on the eastern shore of Nunavik in Ungava Bay. The population is only around 200. The name refers to the redness of the iron bearing soil. Kuujuaq, the regional centre, is 90 miles to the south, and there are regularly scheduled flights by an Air Inuit Twin Otter. The runway is 3,400 feet of gravel aligned 05-23. The ai was included with the posting of Akulivik but is included again here.

| Thompson CYTH in northern Manitoba, Canada |

Thompson is a city with around 13,000 inhabitants, located in northern Manitoba beside the Burntwood River. It serves as the administration centre for a large area of Manitoba and has industrial activities centred around mining and the processing of mined products. The version of the airport upon which this modification is based is the original posting in 2004 by CanUK Scenery. I would have made new buildings and a totally new scenery but I have the same problem as Sid and Pete in their later Thompson scenery: almost no photos!?! The update modifies the short end of the mainly gravel runway to asphalt (it was upgraded because it is regularly used as a taxiway) and also adds a later (2010?) gravel taxiway. The other ground modifications add allocated parking spots for fire fighting CL415 planes that are in the new AI, plus a lot more ga parking. You should already have some AI that includes Calm Air to see CYTH as it really is, the HQ of Calm Air. There are other additions including car parks and the usual sundry bits and pieces that inhabit every airfield. The CL415's with Manitoba textures are adaptations of what were originally Ontario planes and included with my post of Geraldton, not the most recent post in 2013, the one in 2007. If you don't have the planes get them from my Geraldton post. The AI version was made from the original piloted version which was by Massimo Taccoli. The AI helicopter was included in my post of Alma CYTF.
