Van's RV-8

File Description:
In 1995, Van’s decided to re-visit the tandem concept. Even though the side-by-side RV-6\/6A had become the most popular homebuilt design ever, there was still a significant percentage of pilots who really wanted centerline seating. The consensus seemed to be that a new tandem airplane, optimized for cross-country flying, would be popular.\n\nThe "concept airplane" was dubbed the RV-8. A one-of-a-kind demonstrator was built in 1995 and introduced at Oshkosh. The cockpit was several inches wider than the RV-4, so space both front and rear was greatly improved. Really big people (high on the "bubba scale") who could not fit in earlier RVs now had an airplane they could fly. A front baggage compartment almost doubled the available baggage capacity and along with the usual compartment behind the rear seat, actually gave slightly more space than the RV-6\/6A. This package features a FSDSv2 model, custom panel, VC, moving parts, and two paint schemes. This aircraft is fun to fly, and also works well as an AI addition for GA routes.

Purple Panel Project Black (v5)

File Description:
This is a new release for the purple panel project - it includes panels for Single Piston Engine, Twin Piston Engine, Single Jet, Twin Jet, Twin TurboProp, along with 3 and 4 Jet aircraft (also included are instructions on adding a water rudder to any of the panels). These are 'all-in-one' panels that include everything needed to fly in one window/panel. Features include pushback, switches for lights, door and power along with a variety of other things (all switches have tooltip IDs), radio altimeter, EADI w/Glideslope indicator, OAT, Clock, Taxi Control, APU (where applicable), GPS, Smoke, AutoBrake, TCAS, Spoiler Arming, full fuel control, Dual Needle RMI, the 'blue' radio plus all the bells and whistles I could fit in the panel like warning lights, pressure and windspeed indicators ect... This release corrects some minor issues with v3 and is a major rework with new taxi and pushback gauges, a minimum of gauge relocation from panel to panel and a improved background bitmap. As with v3 prop and mixture control are in place on applicable aircraft plus the ADF radio and transponder are the same from panel to panel and do not move as they did in v3. It is the perfect 'standard panel' for use with nearly all the aircraft one can fly in FS2002... No previous versions are required to use these panels.

New Vickers VC10 Panel, Part 4 - Missing bmp files

File Description:
There were 2 missing bmps relating to Nav_Info from my 'New Vickers VC10 Panel, Part 4' (new_vc10_panel_project_4_maintenance_2.zip). In order for it to work correctly you need these files.

This project is based on David Maltby's panel. This update the first in the 50th Anniversary year of the VC10 (there are currently nine still flying) brings to fruition a number of extensive works in progress that have involved almost every gauge! The aircraft now has a fully integrated pressurisation and oxygen delivery system that conforms not only to the Flight Manual but also to ICAO regulations. Therefore cockpit mismanagement can potentially result in hypoxia! Besides this there are also a large number of new additions both in conformity with the Flight Manual and as extra visuals. It's now possible to "see" the Marshaller - There are new speed calls - and whilst you are preoccupied with your checklists the ground staff can be heard going about their business preparing for the flight as indicated also on the Ignition Panel. Nick's Prop Dust with Control Gauges

File Description:
Prop aircraft users are in for a real treat. This gauge/effects package automatically senses the terrain the aircraft is in contact with or flying over and changes the dust and water effects for the aircrafts prop/rotor wash based on dirt, dry mud or clay, snow, rain, water, ice, sand, gravel and short grass. In addition the real time surface conditions are also sensed. In example, a dry asphalt or concrete runway will produce no dust, however, the same runway with snow conditions present will automatically produce a throttle controlled snow blowing effect. The 25 included effects files and 5 gauges have been tuned to reflect a realistic representation of the dust/mist produced by different types of aircraft taking off or touching down on different terrains and surface conditions. The effects are properly influenced by cross wind conditions and reverse pitch is also supported. Effects files and gauges are included for large and small, single engine, multi-engine, amphibians, helicopters and massive scale military and commercial transports. It requires editing/adding lines in the aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg files. The README files include very complete and comprehensive instructions including a quick and easy copy/paste file for all the Microsoft prop aircraft and tutorial on making custom gauges from the ones provided. YWWI - Woodie Woodie Manganese Mine, Western Australia

File Description:
YWWI Woodie Woodie Manganese Mine - Pilbara Manganese, a wholly owned subsidiary of Consolidated Minerals (Consmin), operates the Woodie Woodie mine, which produces high-grade manganese ore of superior quality. The ore is sold to the international steel industry. Production in 2010 was 1,238,000t @ 46.2% Mn, with a capacity of 2.5mtpa of high grade lump and fines. The high-grade lump produced by the mine is an ideal blending material with high manganese and is very low in phosphorus. Furthermore, the lump is hard, has very low degradation and high thermal stability. The mine has a 100.5km2 mining corridor and approximately 5,500km2 of greenfield areas outside this corridor. Multiple open pits are in operation and owner mining of ore is used to promote selectivity and to minimise dilution. The mine also employs contract mining of waste to promote efficient bulk mining practices. The mineral processing techniques include crushing, screening and heavy media separation. Woodie Woodie has a new camp and an all-weather air-strip constructed in 2009, suitable for large aircrafts. Ore is trucked to Port Hedland for shipment. (long ride!!!) Once there they, against the advise of many locals, desided to go to the Darien Jungle, to a place known as "Blue Snake". This is deep in the jungle near the Colombian border. Roads here are really scarse and very dangerous. You guessed it............the dudes are now totally lost!!!!!!.............. SAR authorities have been alerted and you must go in your DH to find them. The weather is poor during this time of the year so the mission is dangerous.-------Flight III.....Holyday to Great Fishing Holes---- The Panama Jungle Yearly Fishing contest is about to start and you have been hired by a bunch of Fishermen from the States, actually 12 of them. They are to be flown to 3 Hotels in the Jungle where the tournaments will be held. Beware, thunderstorms have been predicted for today!! Avon STOLPort (KWHR)

File Description:
A recreation of the Avon STOLPort (ident KWHR) for MS Flight Simulator 2004, A Century of Flight. Avon was operated as an exclusive destination for Rocky Mountain Airways between (approximately) 1978 and sometime in the late 80's or early 90's. The 4,000' runway was short for the nearly 7,500' elevation, and surrounded by mountains, some towering over 6,000' above the airport elevation. To allow all weather operation, the airport eventually featured what was reported as the steepest ILS ever constructed, with a seven degree glideslope. RMA had exclusive use of the tiny STOLPort and operated it with 50-passenger De Haviland Dash 7 equipement. Lacking the original chart, I surveyed in FS and plotted what is hopefully an accurate representation of the ILS approach, using my best understanding of TERPS - the US standard for instrument approaches. I also created an NOS-style IAP chart of this approach for the package. A text Takeoff Minimums & Procedure is also included. AI ATC & traffic recognition of the approach will hopefully follow, but does not exist yet. In other words, you can fly this approach and see the localizer in the GPS, but AI ATC will not give you vectors to it. You'll need to follow the full procedure included on the chart. Please see the full Readme.txt in "Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\KWHR\Docs" in this zipfile for information on installation of the scenery, flying the approach, and more on the history of the Avon STOLPort.

Sachs Harbour CYSY in Northwest Territories, Canada

File Description:
Sachs Harbour is on the southwest coast of Banks Island on the north side of Amundsen Gulf, around 240 miles northeast of Tuktoyaktuk and 180 miles northwest of Ulukhaktok. The village is the only permanent settlement on the island, and is located where it is to benefit from the harbour shelter provided by offshore land. The population is only 130 or so folks, who live on hunting and fishing with some tourism. One claim to fame is that the island is home to threequarters of the world's population of muskoxen and the second is the largest goose colony in North America. The airfield is on the plateau just above the village at 282 feet ASL. The gravel runway 084T/264T (true bearings in Northern Domestic Airspace) is 4,000' long and 100' wide and lit. The apron is on the south side at the centre of the runway and there is a new terminal building; there is JetA fuel available and perhaps 100LL in drums. To the west of the airfield are the deserted buildings of what was once a Department Of Transport weather station. Aklak Airlines flights (operated by Kenn Borek) fly to Sachs Harbour from Inuvik three times a week in summer and twice a week at other times; the AI will be included in the post of a revised Aklavik, and Inuvik revised and Tuktoyaktuk should be fully installed BEFORE Sachs Harbour.

File Description: There sure is more than one reason to go to Aspen and this is sure another must-have of my Colorado sceneries. If you're coming IFR there's a couple of very demanding approach procedures. From a LOC/DME to several visual approaches there's everything your heart might desire. Due to the steep and high surrounding terrain these are quiet some hair raisers (see www.airnav.com/airport/KASE). If you're coming VFR then the traffic pattern altitude is 9.005 ft for light aircraft (vs. 9.505 for aircraft 12.500 lbs or more). Weather and wind permitting, RW15 is preferred for all landings (left pattern). RW33 has a right pattern and is preferred for all takeoffs. You even need a written permission to depart RW15. When departing VFR make a right turn to a heading of 360 degrees ASAP for noise abatement and hold this heading for at least 2 miles from the field. And don't forget to enjoy the impressive mountain scenery with two 14ers: Snowmass Mtn. and Castle Pk. to the southwest. This scenery brings you another 3.500 sq km of beautiful Colorado in 4.7m/pix quality. High resolution versions of this scenery for FS9 and FSX (much sharper, but larger and multiple downloads) are available at www.blueskyscenery.com/GNB_South2West2.html .
