Boeing B-17G 91st BG (OR-R) 'Nine O Nine' Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17G-30-BO 'Nine o nine". Nine-O-Nine was a Boeing B-17G-30-BO Flying Fortress heavy bomber, of the 323rd Bomb Squadron, 91st Bomb Group, that completed 140 combat missions during World War II, believed to be the Eighth Air Force record for most missions, without loss to the crews that flew it. The original aircraft, a block 30 B-17G manufactured by Boeing, was nicknamed after the last three digits of her serial number: 42-31909. Nine-0-Nine was added to the USAAF inventory on December 15, 1943, and flown overseas on February 5, 1944. After depot modifications, she was delivered to the 91st BG at RAF Bassingbourn, England, on February 24, 1944, as a replacement aircraft, one of the last B-17s received in factory-applied camouflage paint. A former navigator of the 91st BG, Marion Havelaar, reported in his history of the group that Nine-O-Nine completed either 126 or 132 consecutive missions without aborting for mechanical reasons, also believed to be a record. M/Sgt. Rollin L. Davis, maintenance line chief of the bomber, received the Bronze Star for his role in achieving the record. Her first bombing raid was on Augsburg, Germany, on February 25, 1944. She made 18 bombing raids on Berlin. In all she flew 1,129 hours and dropped 562,000 pounds of bombs. She had 21 engine changes, four wing panel changes, 15 main gas tank changes, and 18 changes of Tokyo tanks (long-range fuel tanks). After the hostilities ceased in Europe, Nine-O-Nine was returned to the United States on June 8, 1945, and was consigned to the RFC facility at Kingman, Arizona on December 7, 1945, and eventually scrapped. B-17G-85-DL, 44-83575, civil registration N93012, owned and flown by The Collings Foundation, Stow, Massachusetts, flew marked as the historic Nine-O-Nine until its crash on the 2nd of October 2019. YMDN Merredin, Western Australia, Town and Airfield Download

File Description:
YMDN Merredin Town and Airfield - includes townsite landclass. Merredin, a town better known for its wheat and sheep exports. But for almost a decade, it's where one of Asia's busiest carriers, China Southern Airlines, has been sending its trainee pilots to learn how to fly. "They come from a country with a population of more than a billion people. Right now they live in Merredin - population, depending on who's visiting, around 2,000. For nine years now, they and hundreds like them have travelled to WA's empty, sprawling Wheatbelt to learn how to fly. The middle of the Wheatbelt is not the first place you'd look for the future of Chinese commercial aviation. But before these fledgling flyers can spread their wings with China's largest airline, they must pass six months of boot camp in Merredin. Most of them are from China's southern provinces. Their backgrounds are varied. For many of them, it's the first time that they've operated some form of machinery, which includes those students that haven't even had an exposure to driving a motor car. It's early days in their careers. The students are putting in the groundwork. First, mastering the art of piloting single-engine two-seater planes. It's all preparation for the Boeings and airbuses they'll eventually be flying on major international routes. The pressure is intense. Every aspect of the student's progress is measured. Failure can have serious implications for their hopes of becoming commercial pilots. It's part theory and part practical. But flying isn't the only thing that these young men have to get used to in Merredin. For one, there's the incredibly slow pace of country life. Merredin Shire sold the defunct airport for $1 - that's cheaper than a bag of lollies. The locals say the monetary sweetener has paid off." (From ABC transcript) REQUIRES Blencowe_LibraryKit.zip

Airbus A359ULR Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Sinapore Airlines is the launch customer for the A359ULR. The aircraft is configured in a two-class layout, with 67 Business Class seats and 94 Premium Economy Class seats. She is designed for long range flights of over 9,700 nm. Fuel has been increased at the expense of souls on board. The primary use will initially be for routes between WSSS and KJFK (or KLGA), but many others of similar distance can be added later. The flight number on this aircraft reflects the first flight from KJFK-WSSS which is only 8,275 nm (Contrary to media reports of over 9,000 nm) and about 17.5 hours duration (see You Tube video on this flight). The aircraft follows normal flight rules with a higher flight level and longer range. Almost everything is computer controlled and monitored throughout the flight, from take-off to landing. Two of Four pilots monitor the flight at all times, and shift changes occur on a schedule that allows appropriate rest for the crew. The passengers enjoy accommodations unlike provided in any other aircraft or flight, with plenty of meal servings and entertainment options. To see the seating chart, enter the Airbus A359ULR Singapore Airlines folder and click the icon named “SeatGuru Seat Map Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900 ULR.html” and the seating map will appear. The model here has ground servicing animation. Please review the ReadMe_FSX.txt document for further info on this. Read A359ULR details.txt for aircraft details. Airstrips of the Falkland Islands Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Inspired by Jim Keir's Falkland Islands mesh, coastlines and landclass, herewith a couple of dozen little strips from around the area, to give the opportunity to generate a bit of GA AI (and possibly a few scheduled flights) in an otherwise relatively ignored area in the South Atlantic. Please do note, other than Stanley, most of these airstrips are just that, a cleared strip of land in an otherwise empty landscape, (just as they are in real life), simply to provide a variety of destinations for the occasional aircraft to or from Stanley. Most of the airfield locations are listed on WikiPedia and the layout confirmed using on-line satellite imagery. Other than the two main airports, none of these airstrips seem to have "official" ICAO codes, so I've generated a selection of alpha-numeric codes in the SF0* configuration, (as Stanley Airport has the ICAO code of SFAL), so the FS9 AI engine has some codes to work with and the airfields can be found on the map. Hopefully these pseudo-codes won't clash with anything else. As with my other sceneries, the files for each airstrip can be easily identified by the ICAO code, even if the airfield names vary slightly, so you can pick and choose and mix and match to suit any sceneries you already have, should you so wish. There is no requirement for any other download. Each airstrip will exist as a stand-alone entity should you only want a few of them. Having said that, Paul Denton's AFCAD and scenery for EGYP Mount Pleasant (available on AVSIM and possibly elsewhere) might be considered a worthwhile addition, especially if you want to see the twice-weekly scheduled RAF flights from Brize Norton (via Ascension Island), and the Saturday LATAM flight from Chile. Suitable AFCADs for EGVN Brize Norton and SCCI Punta Arenas may also be required. Appropriate traffic files and aircraft/texture suggestions are provided. Please read the remainder of this "blurb" in the included text file, there may be a couple of details of interest.

AIFlow SimConnect Utility for P3D v4 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
AIFlow v1.1 is a simconnect utility designed to ease AI congestion and go-arounds at the airport the user is departing from and arriving at. AIFlow does this by enforcing spacing minimums between arriving AI aircraft resulting in more orderly arrival patterns. AIFlow also supports spacing spacing minimums between the AI aircraft and the USER’s aircraft when the user is flying (during all phases of the user's flight). For added realism, AIFlow adds landing effects (e.g., micro bank and pitch corrections that scale up during crosswind conditions) to the AI on short final approach. The user can also briefly squawk 1234 in their aircraft to temporarily suspend landings so that the user can find a slot to depart a busy runway. AIFlow is designed to compliment the default P3D AI program and thus is fully compatible with any AI-related program that is compatible with the default AI program (e.g., AIG, Ultimate Traffic Live, Radar Contact, etc.). AIFlow is targeted to Prepar3D version 4.5 or 5.0, specifically SimConnect Version 4.5.0.0 or later. AIFlow operates externally via simconnect and thus makes no changes to the P3D sim. NEW for v1.1: (1) detect and correct AI performing poor approaches (e.g., dive-bombing, descent into terrain) under control of the P3D AI engine, (2) user can specify minimum and maximum AI approach speeds in terminal area, (3) prevent AI from stopping on runway when user landing, (4) AI plane spotting mode only, (5) external database fallback in case simconnect fails to provide local airport data, (6) adjustable in-sim message level, (7) periodic read of .ini file to tweak parameters more easily, (8) AIFlow starts minimized. FIXES for v1.1 include: sequencing in heavy AI traffic would sometimes cause excessive go-arounds, going around AI would sometimes improperly hold, changing AI spacing from default value did not have any effect, sometimes user aircraft would get controlled, .ini file would sometimes get confused reading parameter values having whites spaces.

Antonov AN225-210 "Colossus" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The AN225-210 is the result of a proposed 1 to 2-year projected modernization program which will convert the current AN225 into a much more useful and capable aircraft than the already infamous Мрія (Mriya) . The latter First flew on December 21, 1988, and is currently 33 years old. There have been a few maintenance periods and 1 major avionics modification, but otherwise is too old for reliable future use. The 2 year process involves reconstructing the landing gear system to support much more weight. The new engines are much more powerful, but lighter in weight, and much more fuel efficient. The wings are replaced with similar wings with more wing-area built of modern light-weight material which gives her higher lift capacity. The cargo hold area is reinforced for heavier weight limits. The crew areas (upper deck, fore/aft main wing) are modernized for long duration flight, and two galleys are included. The fuel tanks (9) now also involve 3 tanks in the upper center portion of the fuselage in order to put less stress on the wings. The pressure system is modernized to achieve 6,000 feet cabin pressure up to FL470. The internal and external lighting is fully modernized, the former for a pleasing effect and the latter for distinct recognition during flight. Overall, the aircraft does not appear different to the common observer. Aeritalia G91Y 8 Stormo Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Fiat G91Y was a reconnaissance and ground-attack aircraft produced by Italian company FIAT as an evolution of Fiat G91. The first flight took place in 1966. It was a complete redesign, but the major difference was that G91Y installed 2 engines, in order to increase the power and the capability to survive to damages during war operations. The single Bristol Orpheus turbojet engine of G91 was then replaced by two afterburning General Electric J85 turbojets which increased thrust by 60% over the single-engined variant.
Structural modifications to reduce airframe weight increased performance further and an additional fuel tank occupying the space of the G.91T's rear seat provided extra range. Combat manoeuvrability was improved with the addition of automatic leading edge slats.
Flight testing of three pre-production aircraft was successful, with one aircraft reaching a maximum speed of Mach 0.98. Airframe buffeting was noted and was rectified in production aircraft by raising the position of the tailplane slightly. An initial order of 55 aircraft for the Italian Air Force was completed by Fiat in March 1971. The order was increased to 75 aircraft with 67 eventually being delivered. The first pre-series 'Yankee' (the nickname of the new aircraft) flew in July 1968.

AMI (Italian Air Force) placed orders for two batches, 35 fighters followed by another 20, later cut to ten. The last one was delivered around mid 1976, so the total was two prototypes, 20 pre-series and 45 series aircraft. No export success followed. These aircraft served with 101° Gruppo/8° Stormo (Cervia-S.Giorgio) from 1970, and later, from 1974, they served with the 13° Gruppo/32° Stormo (Brindisi) until the early '90s, as the only ones equipped with the 'Yankee', using them as attack/recce machines, both over ground and sea, until the AMX replaced them. Airbus A318 FD Special Version V3 - Complete Pack Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the new version of my Airbus A318 with the Panel in V3 opened on the A321. I remind you that this aircraft is based on the Project Airbis A318, with an ehanced panel based on the work of stefan Liebe.

This latest development can see the more realistic Airbus available as freeware. With a new version of the panel, the aircraft has a 100% cold & dark Status at the start of a flight, a real fuel system management with all valves, piumps and crossfeed work, the complete Bleed circuit with X-bleed, a real engines manual startup procedure like the real aircraft. I have also ehanced the navigation display with TCAS function in ARC and NAV mode; There is also the engines failure procedure to work (fire, oil leaks....) and many improved function that I cannot describe here. The aircraft comes with user manual in English and in French, and it is essantial to read it before you fly.

All the functions of the V2 have been kept and improved, like the vertical navigation gauge, the terrain radar map on the navigation display, the autolanding function, the SFCC. Aircraft comes with 6 liveries (Air France and 5 Frontier liveries realized by Project Airbus Team). This version is only in CFm engines, but with real engine data (CFM56-5B9). Now, the Fly By wire works in 2 modes: "Normal Law" and "Direct Law". I put 300 hours into the development of this panel and I hope that you will like it. In the coming weeks, I will adapt this panel to the A319 V2 and A320 V2, that are the these are the last aircrafts that I must update with this new panel. Please, note that this panel is the v3.05 version, witch fixes the bugs of the first version that came with the A321 (there is an update panel for the A321). Francois Dore

RAF Elvington Download

File Description:
The station was originally a grass airfield within No. 4 Group. In the early 1940s the airfield was entirely reconstructed with three hardened runways replacing the grass. It re-opened in October 1942 as a station for 77 Squadron RAF and along with RAF Melbourne and RAF Pocklington was known as No "42 Base". The squadron had a strength of approximately 20 aircraft and initially used the twin engined Armstrong Whitworth Whitley medium bomber although this was quickly replaced by the Handley Page Halifax four engined heavy bomber which was being introduced. No 77 Squadron suffered heavy losses during its time at Elvington with over 500 aircrew killed, missing or taken prisoner and almost 80 Halifaxes lost as it played a major part in the Battle of the Ruhr and the bombing of Berlin. In May 1944 No 77 Squadron posted to the newly opened nearby RAF Full Sutton and was replaced at Elvington by two French squadrons, numbers 346 "Guyenne" and 347 "Tunisie" who both played a leading part in the bombing of Germany. Elvington was the only airfield in the United Kingdom used by the remainder of the Free French Forces, they also flew Handley Page Halifax heavy bombers until they moved to Bordeaux in October 1945 where they became the basis for the new air force of liberated France. In September 1957 a memorial was unveiled in Elvington village dedicated to the two French squadrons. While they were at RAF Elvington nearly half of the squadrons' members were killed. After the war the 400-acre (1.6 km2) airfield was transferred to No 40 Group under the control of Maintenance Command until 1952 when it was greatly enlarged and extended for use by the United States Air Force. United States Air Force use The United States Air Force (USAF) built a new 3,094 m (10,151 ft) runway, which was the longest in the north of England, and a huge 19.8 hectares (49 acres) rectangular hardstanding apron as well as a new control tower to turn Elvington into a "Basic Operation Platform" which would have operated as a Strategic Air Command (SAC) dispersal airfield. After spending £4 million the airfield never became operational as a SAC base and was abandoned by the US Air Force in 1958. Other uses In the early 1960s the Blackburn Aircraft Company, now part of British Aerospace used the runway for test flights of the Blackburn Buccaneer. Elvington retained its status as an RAF relief landing ground and was used by the RAF flying training schools at RAF Church Fenton and RAF Linton-on-Ouse until the airfield was finally closed in March 1992. Present day The airfield is now owned by Elvington Park Ltd. The adjacent buildings and control tower have been restored, and serve as the Yorkshire Air Museum which has many varied and rare aircraft and exhibits, including a complete Halifax bomber. Elvington is also a popular motorsports venue for motorcycle racing. Source:Wikipedia

Super VC10 Panel Upgrade Part 5 Download

File Description:
This panel upgrade for David Maltby's Super VC10 incorporates significant major changes. First the Super VC10 has now become a stand alone aircraft within the "DMFS Shared Files" file structure. This allows for many changes that distinguish the Super VC10 from the Standard. Some already present and some ongoing. The main panel is now in widescreen format i.e. "not stretched!" Many hundreds of other changes have also been made some unseen that make significant differences to the performance of the model. For example the Super has a fin tank now modelled along with correct fuel transfer and jettison procedures. The engines have been totally overhauled with new thrust curves so that their performance is as accurate as possible across the power spectrum. A consequence of this is that throttle control is now much more precise. Internal engine sounds have been completely revised and are as close as possible to the sound one would hear from the cockpit. There are in addition numerous new panels that are fully functional such the Oxygen panel. This means that cabin altitude and depressurisation are all potential factors and must be attended to. Though you do have an oxygen mask (so don it if necessary or face the consequences!). There is a tiller for ground manoeuvring. There are just too many changes and additions to list here but they are listed in the documentation. Another important addition is refuelling. Refuelling can only be done from an underwing point. To assist is a dedicated new fuel uplift spreadsheet which incorporates a facsimile of a real Super VC10 load sheet allowing you to change passenger loads etc. Everything is explained in the "Technical and Operational Procedures Manual" pdf file as well as the "VC10 FLYING MANUAL" pdf file which contains all the full checklists not cut down for sim use. With ongoing work the intention is that this will become a "study" simulation. If you do not already have David Maltby's Super VC10 model then download it from here. http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/vickers_vc10.htm Follow his instructions and make sure everything is working as expected before downloading these updates.
