WASF Fak-Fak Download

File Description:
Googly scenery for WASF Fak-Fak, in Irian Jaya (Western New Gunea), Indonesia - a small domestic airport that Microsoft managed to omit from Flight Simulator 2004. These scenery files add the runway, apron, taxiways, buildings and other airport features so that you and your "AI" traffic can land, taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner. Little information is available on the services operated - flight plans are available for Lion Airlines showing two flights per week operated on their behalf by Wings Abadi Dash 8 aircraft. But it is known that Merpati Nusentara also serve the airport with Twin Otters. If you are using the Lion Airlines flight plans for Winter 2006, you must change the airport's co-ordinates as detailed in the readme.txt file because the co-ordinates given there will cause the aircraft to aim for a point on the wrong side of the equator in the middle of the sea! There is no lighting at this airport, and few navigational aids. However, I have added a missing NDB nearby (FA, 380.0). The scenery does not purport to be ultra-accurate. The quality of the satellite imagery at Google Earth is poor, but a number of photographs and other information has enabled this airport to be depicted reasonably accurately. However the added airport features, such as buildings, are built from default Microsoft objects and add-on libraries so will not look exactly like the real thing. You are not obliged to download and install any additional scenery libraries, but to enjoy this scenery in its entirety, you may wish to. It will work fine, with or without. An editvoicepack file has been included for the airport to help you embarrass yourself in front of others when flying. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM]

CYZD Download

File Description:
Downsview Airport or Toronto/Downsview Airport, (IATA: YZD, ICAO: CYZD), is located in Toronto, Ontario and has been exclusively used and owned as a testing facility by Bombardier Aerospace since 1994. Downsview Airport has its own fire service (Bombardier Emergency Services) which covers airport operations (using two airport fire rescue vehicles) and plant operations (using two SUV emergency vehicles). Bombardier Emergency Services employs robust employees who are trained as fire fighters, paramedics, and as peace officers (despite being a private airport, its security force is sworn in as Peace Officers per Canadian Airport Standards as well as being sworn fire fighters under the authority of the Ontario Fire Marshall). The Downsview Airport was developed in 1939 as an airfield next to an aircraft manufacturing plant operated by de Havilland Canada. In 1947, the Department of National Defence purchased property surrounding the airfield and expanded it, creating RCAF Station Downsview to provide an air base for Royal Canadian Air Force units. The base was renamed Canadian Forces Base Toronto (Downsview) in 1968 and retained this name until its closure in 1994. Since 1998, the property has been administered by a civilian Crown corporation Parc Downsview Park, which co-manages the airfield with Bombardier Aerospace (the successor to de Havilland Canada). In recent years the property has been undergoing various landscape usage plans and some redevelopment has taken place. The airfield was used in recent years to host the 1984 and 2002 Papal visits by Pope John Paul II, as well as to host the 2003 SARS concert headlined by the Rolling Stones. The airfield has also served as a test site for several famous aircraft produced by de Havilland, including the Beaver, the Twin Otter, and the Dash 8. The airport is available to pilots only with prior permission. Discription By Wikipedia.

German Airforce F-4F Phantom Download

File Description:
German Airforce, F-4F Phantom, "Bundeswehr Jagdgeschwader 71", for FSX, Demoversion with banners. The McDonnell Douglas F-4 E/F Phantom 2 is a two-seat, twin-engined, all-weather, long-range supersonic fighter-bomber originally developed for the U.S. Navy by McDonnell Aircraft. Proving highly adaptable, it became a major part of the air wings of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and U.S. Air Force. It was used extensively by all three of these services during the Vietnam War, serving as the principal air superiority fighter for both the Navy and Air Force, as well as being important in the ground-attack and reconnaissance roles by the close of U.S. involvement in the war. First entering service in 1960, the Phantom continued to form a major part of U.S. military air power throughout the 1970s and 1980s, being gradually replaced by more modern aircraft such as the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon in the U.S. Air Force and the F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 Hornet in the U.S. Navy. It remained in service in the reconnaissance and Wild Weasel roles in the 1991 Gulf War, finally leaving service in 1996. The Phantom was also operated by the armed forces of 11 other nations. Israeli Phantoms saw extensive combat in several Arab–Israeli conflicts, while Iran used its large fleet of Phantoms in the Iran–Iraq War. Phantoms remain in front line service with seven countries, and in use as an unmanned target in the U.S. Air Force. Phantom production ran from 1958 to 1981, with a total of 5195 built. This extensive run makes it the second most-produced Western jet fighter, behind the famous F-86 Sabre at just under 10,000 examples. Panel, GAUGES, model, sound and textures - Author: A.Meyer.

Nanisivik CYSR and Arctic Bay CJX7 in Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Nanisivik is an airfield in the north of Baffin Island, 470 miles north of the Arctic circle. It was built to service a zinc and lead mine that was opened in 1976 as Canada's first Arctic mine, now closed and dismantled. The deep water Strathcona Sound has been ear-marked by the Canadian government for development as a naval base, so I have left the large ore storage shed and the jetty in place. The airfield is at 2,106 feet on the top of the Borden Peninsula hills with a lighted 6,400 feet of 150 feet wide gravel runway runway aligned 11/29. There is a terminal and other maintenance buildings, and First Air have a building there from when the mine generated a lot of traffic and jets were used. Arctic Bay is a village 11 miles west of Nanisivik airfield with a population of around 690 which also uses the Nanisivik airfield. There is another gravel strip much closer to the village that is called Arctic Bay CJX7, but this is smaller with only 1,500' of 50' wide gravel and has no facilities of any sort. The village is partly dependent on visiting sports hunters and other limited tourist visits. At almost 73 degrees north the average year will have only four or even three months where the average high is above freezing. The buildings on the field have been modelled specifically for this scenery, and as in real life there is only JetA available. The AI visiting aircraft are a Kenn Borek Twin Otter and a First Air 42-300. As Nanisivik is in the "Northern Domestic Airspace" the runway is signed in "true" bearings and not magnetic as magnetic compasses become unreliable close to the magnetic pole.

File Description:
Centurion Cargo is a privately owned company founded in 2001. Based at Miami International Airport, it currently operates a fleet of ten MD-11F, and has an impressive 550,000 square foot warehouse, divided into two different sections, a 159,000 square foot cooler and 391,000 square foot Dry Cargo Area. The Centurion Cargo Center is by far the largest privately owned all cargo airline facility in North America. Centurion is one of the leading cargo airlines operating to and from Latin America and is No. 1 in the handling of live animals and perishable goods. Centurion has recently expanded its network to include 4 weekly flights from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We also offer worldwide charter, handling, and security services among others. FSX McDonnell-Douglas MD-11F repaint textures for the real world Centurion Cargo N701GC, named "Petete", but with the freeware version's Pratt and Whitney engines. For the freeware SMS Overland MD-11 with P&W 4460 engines, which you must have previously installed in FSX. I installed the freeware (SMS-MD-11_Dutch_Package.zip) with VC which works well with this repaint. Also includes engine exhaust smoke coordinates which you can add to your "aircraft.cfg" if you wish. Screenshots enclosed. Easy installation. Repaint by Tom Tiedman.
