File Description:
This repaint was done to honor all the former personnel of VF-33, The Starfighters, and their families. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN, VF-33 was disestablished in 1993. This repaint represents TARBOX 211, a Tomcat of VF-33 that participated in Operation Desert Storm (1991). On January 19, 1991 Tomcats from VF-33 flew as part of a package that destroyed the critical Latifiya SCUD missle production facility in Iraq. Each VF-33 crewmwmber who participated in the strike was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with combat distinguishing device. Aircraft and paintkit by IRIS.

This was requested by Ahmed Fouad on Facebook.
The engine spiral for this livery is surprisingly unusual, like some sort of hybrid combination of the Hurricane Spiral and Comma Spiral. I think this is just a subgenre of the hurricane spiral with a different type of hurricane displayed there, but it just reminds me of the comma spiral with the black and white swapped out, like what you see on some Iran Air A300s.
Working on this livery for this model is quite tricky, as the engine pylons texture uses the same side for all sides. Inside the engine pilons texture ("all_engines.t" and "all_engines.l"), there is 2 pylons painted top and bottom. But the model only uses the lower pylon for both sides in both pylons, leaving the other upper one in the dust.

cfs2/Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat Mk-I RAF Fleet Air Arm E-F Serial #JV-???.This aircraft (serial number unknown) was part of the 800 NAS aboard the HMS Emperor in mid 1944. The new generation "Cat" provided the 800 Squadron aircrews with a superior air carrier fighter. The HMS Emperor was to become the eyes of the admiralty in flying strike aircover and artillary spotting thtoughout Operations Overlord and Dragoon. Painted over The B24 Guy's F6F-3 Overhaul Model. Note black and white invasion stripes on fuselage and upper and lower main wing surfaces. Code letters are red, outlined in white. Complete Texture Folder with all texture and damage files included.
