B-2A Spirit Stealth Bomber Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The B-2A Stealth Bomber is the most sophisticated aircraft on the planet. She is essentially a “Flying Wing” platform with no V-Tail, and is controlled by pre-programed flight computers stationed in various positions within the crew cabin and wings. There is one main computer that controls the aircraft, with two redundant back-up computers assigned to it in case of failure. All additional computers are assigned to functions involving flight control, system monitoring, data communications, and radar. Engine and Aerodynamic effects are controlled by these computers which serve several actuators and ailerons, including the spoilerons, which further compensate for the lack of a V-Tail. In theory, and because of these computers, the aircraft is “Stall-Proof”. The only way it can stall is if the computers fail. There is no way she can be flown without the computers active. The REAL aircraft does almost everything based on pre-programed data, other than taxi to the runway (although this is also possible to program). Before each flight, the Mission is designed and then assigned to the Mission Flight Box (Portable Computer) which is then carried by the Commander to the aircraft, and the data from the box is “transferred” to the main on-board computers. Because of this, the B-2 cannot be flown until the box is ready for the mission, and pilots cannot simply jump in and fly her, with the exception that the data is transferred via satellite. Everything is pre-planned, and this takes several hours. Once the data is on-board, the taxi can begin. When lined-up on the runway, all the pilot needs to do is push a button or three. Everything else is computer controlled until landing. The aircraft CAN be flown manually with basic data inputs into the main computer systems, but even in that case it is not conventional. If a pilot wants to turn right, he sets the data to turn to a certain degrees of heading. The same with climb and descent, speed increase or decrease. A pilot cannot over-ride the computers in any case, so steep banks, climbs, or descents cannot be forced. There is a lot of space for the two member crew within the cockpit, but there is also a space reserved for one observer. This additional seat is known as “Suicide Position” because there is no ejection seat for that observer. In the event of a mishap, the observer can try to bail-out through the ejection hatches after the pilots, or can try the exit ramp door, or the bomb bay as an exit route. The odds of escape for the observer are very small, but he has a parachute as reassurance. Otherwise, what the crew does during missions is only a guess, since they really don't have to do anything unless an alarm goes off. Since the plane flies so smooth, we can only imagine what sort of things they may dream-up to entertain themselves during a long flight. High altitude flights are conducted at night mainly due to the obvious contrail such a flight will exhibit during the day with such hot engines. The engines are encased in a heat absorbing shield material (still exhaust exists), and the rest of the plane is coated with Radar absorbant material, with the additional low profile effect of the aircraft design itself. If it can be seen by the ground or a fighter, it can be attacked by fighters or the ground. During daytime flight they will stay below the contrail level, and monitor the radar systems in preparations for counter-measures. If a fighter can visually observe them, the fighter may be able to shoot them down with bullets from behind, but not likely with missiles because of the sophisticated counter-measures available. On Radar the aircraft appears the size of a pigeon, until about 8 to 10 miles away, which would be too late to counter from the ground, so most attacks are either done at night or during the day at very low altitude. Upon landing the aircraft is automated down to about 200 feet AGL, when the pilot takes command. All she/he does at this point is allow her to glide down and contact the runway, and retard the engines. Brakes are used to slow, then the computers are turned off, and the pilot can control the throttles, nose gear, and brakes. The Commander watches for obstructions, mainly, and communicates with the tower and ground crew. Everything in this model has been reconfigured to meet realistic standards, without any tricks or flight tuning, and following real world aerodynamic principals and available data, including MOI. The panel requires study before use, but very realistic. The sounds are very authentic. There is no other model offered anywhere that compares to what you have now available in front of you. Please read and study the Readme.txt file within the main folder before attempting to fly this 2.2 Billion Dollar aircraft. Yes, that's correct ... $2,200,000,000 each! The use of this model, and the configuration of such, is designed for educational purposes, and protected by the Free Use Act: (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/107). "Janet Airways" Boeing 737-600 BBJ-ER Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
A highly classified small fleet of passenger aircraft known as "Janet" is operated for the United States Air Force to transport military and contractor employees. It mainly serves the Nevada National Security Site (most notably Area 51 (AR51) and Tonopah Test Range (TNX), from their terminal at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport (KLAS). The planes are also used to fly to/from Air Force Plant 42 (KPMD), Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (KNID), Hill Air Force Base (KHIF), and Edwards Air Force Base (KEDW). I encourage you to locate, download, and install the AFCAD files or scenery add-ons associated to these airports from any source you desire, but make sure they are designed for FSX. The fleet's "Janet" call sign, from which its de facto name comes, is said to stand for "Just Another Non-Existent Terminal", or more likely "Joint Air Network". Everything is realistic in this model, now, and most simmers know how inaccurate the original FSX 737-800 was. However, this aircraft simulates the accuracy of a 737-600 BBJ-ER, if there ever was one built. I modified everything to fit that aspect, except for the visual model. The engine characteristics are correct as well as all weight/balance and MOI. I even fixed the wheels to be accurate in base, track and pressure size. Everything I've done here is for educational purposes without any expectation of any monetary gain, and offered publicly for free. Read the Readme.txt file for installation and details. All persons involved with this and the original design are credited, unless they are unknown and have offered no credit details. FSX/P3D Seaboard World 707-345C 1968 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the 707-345C in Seaboard World 1968 colors. The payware Captain Sim 707-300C is needed for this repaint. New York based, Seaboard & Western Airlines - an all cargo airline, was renamed Seaboard World Airlines on 26 April 1961. The "new" airline received the first of 6 CL-44 turboprops in August 1961. The CL-44 was the first modern airliner designed solely to carry freight. They were put into service after August 1961. By 1962, the Lockheed Constellations were all replaced, and Seaboard became an all-turbine-powered airline (with the exception of a solitary C-46 based in Europe). Two years later in 1964, Seaboard received their first pure jets in three DC-8-Fs. 1964 was the airline's best year ever, as profits jumped by 53%, and the future looked very bright. However, it was not to be. Seaboard was forced to compete over its routes with the freight capacity of the passenger airlines, which annually became more competent in the cargo field. Although they did have a bright spot in providing charters to the military, the air freight industry as a whole will eventually fail to achieve the traffic potential envisioned by "aviation experts". Nevertheless, Seaboard, with new jetliners at their disposal, went on and provided excellent service to its customers. They offered a wide range of cargo services to many points in Europe. Eventually, falling passenger charters and stiff competition took their toll. Seaboard was bought out in 1980 by the only real all-cargo success at the time - The Flying Tiger Line. Seaboard operated 2n 707-300Cs from 1968 to 1969. This aircraft, N7322S, was leased from VARIG in 1968. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FSX & P3D v1-3. Textures are DXT5 dds.

Silver City CFQ5 in Yukon Territory Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Silver City is a ghost town in the Yukon Territory, Canada, amid the Rocky Mountains and around 35 miles northwest of Haines Junction. It is on the southern end of Kluane Lake and in the Kluane National Park and this probably explains it's (minimal) survival after what appears to have been the shutdown of mining for silver. There is little information readily available. The date of this scenery is, as usual, around 2010. There was no recent regular service by Yukon Air North or any other airline, and the primary user of the airfield adjacent to the lake is a company called Icefield Discovery Tours. Their activity is probably very similar to the company at Haines Junction and involves trips to the National Park amid mountains and glaciers. There is also another organisation at the airfield, the Kluane Lake Research Station of the Arctic Institute. They have four buildings there but it is unclear how much aerial activity they generate, or if in fact they fly at all for their work. The runway is 3,000 feet of unlit gravel, aligned north-south. This post will be followed by Burwash, which is at the far northwestern end of the lake. There is no video of the Silver City airfield on Youtube, and it is not the most exciting airfield in the world, but the location is enough in real life for a visit to be made. On YouTube there is a series of posts by Angle of Attack showing the preparation and then the flight of an old Cessna 172 from Homer to Oshkosh for the installation of modern instruments. Interesting for me as they visit or fly over airfields I have made: Homer, Merrill, Tok Junction, Burwash, Silver City, Haines Junction, Watson Lake, Fort Nelson, and Grande Prairie. But they fly in the winter so it all looks very different.

Dallas Ft. Worth KDFW / DFW, version 3.2 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Thank you for downloading this scenery. This is an extensive upgrade to the default Dallas/Ft. Worth International airport. The brand new Terminal D is added and in use now at DFW. FRF's rendition of this terminal is in no way photoreal or exact as it is in real life. The basic shape and dimensions are correct, but due to the limitations of the building blocks available to me at the time, We were not able to design the curved roof and some other architectural details of the actual building. The gates are generally accurate and I have seen no parking problems so far. The original main terminals remain with new, more accurate jetways. The overhead tramway which circles the entire terminal area has been added. It is not perfectly correct or photoreal, but it is a good basic representation.

An AFCAD is included with accurate parking per the DFW website and AA.com. There is a substantial frame rate hit with full AI traffic and weather enabled, but it is not a slideshow.

Update from v3:
The afcad file for KDFW is all new, made with AFX, and reflects recent updates to the taxiway layout. The new afcad file is no longer "all runways active" due to the incorrect behavior of AI aircraft overflying the main runways when using the 13/31's. The new end-around taxiway at the end of Rwys 17R/C is now in place. The runway 18R/17C extensions are reflected as well as associated new taxiways and signage. Parking changes are now reflected per the DFW website. Visual changes include the midfield hangar change from Delta to American titles, courtesy of Joe Degregorio.

Frozen Canadian & USA Rivers & Lakes Revision Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This "freezes" all lakes and rivers for winter flying and means they can be landed on with skis or wheels; it is meant for low level flying rather than high level jet flights. This edition is complete in itself and now really covers all of Canada and parts of the USA along the border, including large parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana. It is reversible with an "untick" in the FS scenery library. The revision is the addition of frozen sea in the area of Baffin Island (where I and Sid & Pete have recently posted all of the Baffin Island airfields) as I missed this area last time. Sorry about that. I have spent some time making sure that the sea and the inlets along the coast in the south do not get frozen too, and also some of the lakes that are close to the coast and rarely get cold enough to freeze over. The Great Lakes do not usually totally freeze, but this is an either ON or OFF modification and partial freezing cannot be convincingly simulated, so I went for total ice. Along the north shore I went for the peak of the winter with sea ice all the way to the permanent polar cap; this is not totally realistic as there is usually a partially open lead along the coast, but as with the Great Lakes...... It will work without Ultimate Terrain, but as UT is what gets all the lakes and rivers there and in the right place (except in the far north) it is obviously much improved with UT. The pics show Rockcliffe in the winter with the frozen Ottawa River for real and in FS for comparison; without UT the river would not be in the right place.

Linden Airport (KLDJ), NJ v1.1 Download

File Description:
Located 01 miles SE of Linden, New Jersey on 188 acres of land, Linden Airport is a public asphalt strip 4137' in length. Numerous changes have been made to this airport to bring it closer to its real-life counterpart including proper non-precision runway markings for R09 while only basic markings are used for R27; The 4-box VASI has been accurately located; the traffic pattern height has been adjusted; All 130 tiedown locations have been accurately placed. RAMP_GA spots are taken by static aircraft (all of which have collision disabled) so they should not be selected unless you want to start inside another aircraft! RAMP_GA_SMALL spots can be occupied by aircraft with wingspans up to 40 feet and RAMP_GA_MEDIUM spots can be occupied by aircraft with wingspans up to 60 feet. There are 4 open hangars labeled as GA_DOCK. The main hangar (NW Parking) can hold aircraft with wingspans up to 60 feet. The three smaller hangars (SW Parking) can hold aircraft with wingspans up to 35 feet. The W Helipad start location will put you in front of the smaller main tarmac hangar within the coned-off section. Fuel is only available by taxiing to a stop in front of either fuel tank to the west of the main tarmac. No AI aircraft will spawn in the SW Parking area. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New York 005. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

MNPC Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Googly scenery for MNPC Puerto Cabezas - a small international airport in Nicaragua for which no facilities are provided in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. These scenery files create the airport and add taxiways, aprons, buildings and other airport features, so that you and your "AI" traffic can land, taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner.

The airport, with its new Rigoberto Cabezas terminal opened in 2000, serves the city of Puerto Cabezas and is surrounded by beautiful beaches and lush scenery. Unfortunately, the country of Nicaragua has been embroiled in civil unrest almost continuously since it became an independent republic in 1838, most of which is funded and fuelled by other countries seeking to interfere with Nicaragua's politics. For this reason, the country has no national airline or international flights of its own - the major powers refuse to accept its currency - and commercial traffic is confined to local flights operated by small craft from adjoining countries like those of Atlantic Airlines de Honduras and TACA Regional.
Fortunately, in Flight Simulator you do not need to worry about world politics and you will be assured of a "virtual" welcome when you call in here. Please say a small prayer for world peace when you do.

The scenery does not purport to be ultra-accurate. Based on high-detail satellite imagery from Google Earth, the layout is proportionally correct but the added airport features, such as buildings, are built from default Microsoft objects and add-on libraries so will not look exactly like the real thing.

You are not obliged to download and install any additional scenery libraries, but to enjoy this scenery in its entirety, you may wish to. It will work fine, with or without. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM]

Ocean City Municipal Airport (26N), NJ Download

File Description:
Located 02 miles SW of Ocean City, New Jersey on 60 acres of land, Ocean City Municipal Airport is host to quite a few GA aircraft, and has plenty of room for anyone looking to fly in for a few days. Around 60 tiedown spots are available on the tarmac. The main tarmac can host planes with wingspans up to 40 feet. If you managed to fly in anything larger than that head for the west end of the field to tie down. FSX may spawn some AI craft in that area but it is not attached to the main taxi network so no planes will leave from there - the majority of planes FSX spawns in that larger spot can't handle the runway length! Be sure to check your aircraft can handle takeoffs without freezing temps and a ton of headwind before you fly in. You can gas up by stopping near the fuel truck by the terminal or by the gas tank at the west end of the tarmac. Don't ask me what that yellow circle is on the tarmac - if anyone knows you can tell *me* :P It's in the airport photos so its there. Runway touchdown markings are enabled as in real life, but apparently FSX decides not to draw them because the runway is too thin.

Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview, the author has not been there in person.
This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 003. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

WASF Fak-Fak Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Googly scenery for WASF Fak-Fak, in Irian Jaya (Western New Gunea), Indonesia - a small domestic airport that Microsoft managed to omit from Flight Simulator 2004. These scenery files add the runway, apron, taxiways, buildings and other airport features so that you and your "AI" traffic can land, taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner. Little information is available on the services operated - flight plans are available for Lion Airlines showing two flights per week operated on their behalf by Wings Abadi Dash 8 aircraft. But it is known that Merpati Nusentara also serve the airport with Twin Otters. If you are using the Lion Airlines flight plans for Winter 2006, you must change the airport's co-ordinates as detailed in the readme.txt file because the co-ordinates given there will cause the aircraft to aim for a point on the wrong side of the equator in the middle of the sea! There is no lighting at this airport, and few navigational aids. However, I have added a missing NDB nearby (FA, 380.0). The scenery does not purport to be ultra-accurate. The quality of the satellite imagery at Google Earth is poor, but a number of photographs and other information has enabled this airport to be depicted reasonably accurately. However the added airport features, such as buildings, are built from default Microsoft objects and add-on libraries so will not look exactly like the real thing. You are not obliged to download and install any additional scenery libraries, but to enjoy this scenery in its entirety, you may wish to. It will work fine, with or without. An editvoicepack file has been included for the airport to help you embarrass yourself in front of others when flying. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM]
