| Green Lake CBG2 in British Columbia Canada |

File Description:
Green Lake is on the eastern side of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, around 40 miles north of Cache Creek and 15 miles south of 100 Miles House (a previous posting). The airfield is beside the lake shore and serves the Flying U holiday ranch with a grass runway 2,575 feet long and aligned 18-36. There is no lighting. There is also mooring on the lake for boats and float planes. I have posted it as Green Lake CBG2, but I suggest that you just add it to your previously created "BC airfields", if you followed my previous suggestion. You then avoid the inevitable doubling up of common textures etc. Plus that way you will have just one FS9 library post to do and new airfields will not need yet another posting. Up to you. It just occurred to me that probably only a few of you have a copy of the Nav Canada Airfields handbook, so won't know the airfield altitudes, which is useful to have amid mountains. So, Pemberton is 670 feet Above Sea Level, Cache Creek 2,034 feet ASL, and Green Lake 3,550 feet ASL. The others to follow as posted. If you find a defect, email me.

| Gang Ranch CAY2 in British Columbia Canada |

Gang Ranch is on the eastern side of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, around 50 miles west of Green Lake and 5 miles west of the Fraser River that runs north-south at that latitude (51 degrees 30 minutes north, in round figures). The airfield is among some farm fields and difficult to spot (this will depend on your personal textures and settings) and the ranch buildings are scattered and a mile or two away, the nearest being the owner's house. The runway is gravel, only 1,800 feet long and aligned 08-26 at 2,150 feet above sea level. There is no lighting. I have posted it as Gang Ranch CAY2, but I suggest that you just add it to your previously created "BC airfields" (if you did that) and avoid the inevitable doubling up of common textures etc. Plus that way you will have just one FS9 library post to do and new airfields will not need yet another posting. | Cache Creek CAZ5 in British Columbia Canada |

Cache Creek is a small village of around 1,000 folks on the eastern side of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, around 70 miles northeast of Pemberton and 40 miles west of Kamloops. The village is in a valley bottom and recently suffered from severe flooding due to the overflow of the river. The airfield is high above the town, with a runway aligned 15-33 and 3,280 feet of asphalt, without runway or taxiway lighting; hence "airfield" as opposed to "airport". I have posted it as Cache Creek CAZ5, but I suggest that you revise the name to perhaps "BC airfields" and just load my future airfield posts into the same scenery and texture folders to avoid the inevitable doubling up of common textures etc. Plus that way you will have just one FS9 library post to do and new airfields will not need yet another posting. | Anahim Lake CAJ4 in British Columbia, Canada |

Anahim Lake is around 55 miles east of Bella Coola by air, and clear of the deep and rugged valley that connects the two with a road that is over 75 miles long. The two are also linked by a daily Pacific Coastal flight. A further 150 miles east is Williams Lake (200 miles by road). The town of Anahim Lake is small, but renowned for numerous surrounding fishing lodges on the lakes and the enjoyment of "nature" in what is known as the Chilcotin Wilderness. The Anahim Lake airport is an odd one. It appears to have fallen into disuse over a period of years, but is now in the process of being upgraded, with some new hangars (though oddly situated, and with only dirt track taxiway access) and a recently completed terminal building. There is also a plan to upgrade the runway (lights etc, there are currently no runway or taxiway lights) and in general to greatly improve the facilities on offer. The only current airline to fly there is Pacific Coastal. The runway is just under 4,000 feet of asphalt aligned 13-31 and 75 feet wide. There used to be another runway which is still visible but is now unusable, gravel that has not been maintained for several years. The notes for Anahim Lake airfield in the Nav Canada manual warn of "Extensive float plane activity at Nimpo Lake to the south" and of "possible large animals within the airport perimeter". Nimpo Lake activity will follow in further posts.

Nimpo Lake is less than 10 miles south of Anahim Lake, and is a centre for fishing lodges and other "nature" activities such as hiking and hunting etc. As a result there is considerable float plane activity on the lake as clients are flown in, or out, to other lakes that are nearby, or just on sightseeing jaunts. This is the first of a trio of Nimpo Lake float bases, the "official" one that is in the Nav Canada floats listing as CAF8. It is close to the Wilderness Lodge fishing centre, included in this posting. Also included here are the AI Beavers that formed part of the Alaska payware scenery by FSAddon, with kind permission to use them for free scenery postings.

This one, CF05, is the second of a trio of Nimpo Lake float bases, the one that is close to the "official" CAF8. It is for Stewart's Lodge fishing centre and Tweedmuir Aviation, both of which are included in this posting. The AI Beavers that are based at the CF05 dock in the AI have a colour scheme that is close to that of Tweedmuir. The AI was included in the posting of CAF8, as were the AI Beavers.

To cover for a capacity shortage, Alidair leased this Viscount 806 from the Cambrian division of British Airways. With the BA logo and name covered over and simple Alidair titles added, this aircraft was in use betweeen February and April 1975. Requires the FSDS Viscount 800 model by Rick Piper.
