| Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, Savannah, Georgia (KSAV) |
|
File Description:
This is a AFCAD2 file for the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. I tried to make the airport as realistic as possable with what is given to me with FS9. Gates 1 and 3 is Delta Connection from Cincinnatti, New York-LGA, and Dallas/Ft. Worth. Gates 5 and 7 are Delta from Atlanta, Gate 2 &2a are Continental Express (Expressjet) From Houston-Bush, and Newark, Gate 4 is Northwest (Mesaba and Pinnacle) from Detroit, Memphis, and Minneapolis, Gate 6 is Independence Air flights from Washington-Dulles (Make sure you have your Independence Air planes coded to BLR. That is what I have the gate coded to which is correct in real life.). Gate 8 is AirTran flights from Atlanta (I also have TRSX AirTran Jet Connect. They no longer fly, but I have them on my AI so I left it in.). Gates 9 and 11 are USAir (Gate 9 being USAir mainline and CRJ-200 flights from Charlotte, Philly and Pittsburgh and Gate 11 being CRJ-200 flights and Dash 8 flights Charlotte, Boston and New York-LGA.). And finally Gate 10 is United Express (Air Wisconsin) flights from Washington-Dulles and Chicago-O'Hare. At the old terminal I have the FedEx, and Airbourne Express/DHL areas, as well as the GA "terminal". North of that is the 165th Airlift Wing National Guard area with parking for their C130's, F-16's, F15's, and their F-18's. I do not have the jetways on yet, however they are done except for the Delta gates....look for them soon. I hope this is a better representation of the airport. I believe it is. All lights on the Taxiways, Runways, as well as landing lights are REAL TO LIFE. They are taken from the airport digrams themselfs as well as from the website www.fltplan.com. Please, let me know what you think as I am using you as an unofficial beta tester for this file.

| Monument Valley UT25 and Oljato 05UT in Utah USA |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Monument Valley is an impressive sight in south Utah but not, unfortunately, in FS9. Unless you invest in a detailed terrain mesh there are no stacks of rocks reaching for the sky and the lasting overall impression is just of a desert. But I had already downloaded the land textures so I ended up making the Monument Valley UT25 airfield and the nearby Oljato 05UT, which has no buildings of any sort. Maybe I was bored. There is a lodge close to the field with dozens of cabins, but I had insufficient information so this is for the airfield only. The 4,000 feet of new tarmac is aligned 16-34 and is single ended with a large chunk of rock at the southern end; 16 is only used for landing and 34 is only for take off. The runway is not lit. Do not be surprised when you ask to select a runway for take off and FS9 only gives you 16 as a choice, even though you know this is the wrong one. When you accept it FS9 will quickly switch it to 34; apart from a possible sense of humour I have no idea why it does this. Nothing much to say about Oljato. What do you need? You actually don't need Ultimate Terrain as there are other land textures used here, so you will definitely need to have downloaded and installed the land textures "cny_south3west_2010 lr" and "cny_south3west2_2010 lr" by Gottfried Razek, as these land textures showed the runways in the correct positions. Look in the scenery library here or at the other place. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this (unless you count 4 as many) as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.

File Description:
The Boeing 787 is one of the most sophisticated aircraft ever designed, and I have worked on several FS models from even before the real aircraft was ever built. I have accumulated so much data relating to this plane that I can now incorporate real world dynamics for it based on extremely realistic information. The aircraft offered here has been modified to offer all of that realism. In the real world, the 787 is flown primarily with autopilot controls, and this model is no different. It doesn't take a lot to fly this plane, and if I were to be offered the challenge I think I'd be up and flying within a few minutes, in a real 787. Because of this, I offer no advise other than normal flight rules.
If you are new to FSX, please learn through the on-board tutorials. I am not a tutor. I do not have anything to do with cosmetics. I do not design panels. All I do is help educate you about the realism of aircraft design. You can look at the aircraft.cfg and the .air file (Airfile Editor Required) to see what I've done in comparison to the original model, but I will not really help you with tutorial related issues. If you find something you think is wrong, let me know. Otherwise, enjoy this model and fly her like the real thing.
Everything I've done here is for educational purposes without any expectation of any monetary gain, and offered publicly for free. What I offer here is protected by the Fair Use Doctrine of International Copyright Law, and you are free to study this as follows:

| DARDANELAIR Beechcraft B1900 Fleet |
|
File Description:
This is the fleet of DARDANELAIR VIRTUAL airlines Beechcraft B1900. You must have PMDG B1900D to use these repaints. There are fourteen B1900 in the fleet of airlines. The names of airplanes get their names from the places of Çanakkale (except some). B1900 is the main and the most important aircraft of the fleet. DARDANELAIR pilots fly with B1900 in special events or fly-inns. DARDANELAIR VIRTUAL is the first regional virtual airlines of the Republic of TURKEY. DARDANEL is the ancient name of ÇANAKKALE. It was founded on 1 March 2007. DARDANELAIR VIRTUAL is a group of independent virtual pilots. The aims of airline are to help the development of virtual aviation community (especially in Turkey), to educate new virtual pilots, to give opportunities to the virtual pilots in order to improve themselves and to share new information about aviation among all people who fall in love with aviation. | Merrill Field PAMR |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This is a version for FSX of the Merrill Field made by Roger Wensley (me) for FS9, converted by John B Loney jnr. "PAMR read this first" explains this but I have modified John's original procedure, and instead of first installing the Merrill Field original plus two updates I have included here the current FS9 version as installed on my computer. Note that to see the apron lighting working in FS9 it was necessary to have Sidney Schwartz's light library installed, along with his updated textures (to avoid severe blurries caused by a faulty texture). The original installation instructions are included giving file library priorities etc. Just ignore the bits that do not apply, such as installing AI that is not included. I have of course omitted the original AI as this is replaced by John's version. I have no comment to make on installing in FSX as I have not done so, and I have not tested it in FSX. If you have comments or questions I will respond as much as I am able. Merrill Field is in Anchorage Alaska, between Anchorage International to the southwest and and Elmendorf Air Force Base to the north. It caters for general aviation and is the land equivalent of the Lake Hood float plane base, with fuel and numerous maintenance facilities, and several hundred parking spots for small planes. There are three runways, and the longest is 4,000 feet of 100 feet wide asphalt, the second 2,635 feet of asphalt 75 feet wide, and the third 2,000 feet of 60 feet wide gravel. The first two have runway lights. It is a controlled airfield with a relatively new control tower to cater for the numerous flights and to coordinate with Elmensdorf and Anchorage International, the latter also controlling flights from Lake Hood and the adjacent gravel strip Z41. (See my Lake Hood scenery). The gravel runway at Merrill Field is not connected with active taxiways to the rest of the airfield; this avoids you being ordered to land on it when flying a plane too large to do so.

| Whati CEM3 in the Northwest Territories, Canada |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Whati is a village at the southern end of Lac La Martre, a smaller lake (only by Canadian standards, at over 40 miles long) halfway between the Great Slave Lake and the Great Bear Lake and around 100 miles north of Yellowknife. The North West Company established a trading post there in 1793, and this was the centre for local trading in the area for 100 years until a post was opened by the Hudson Bay Company on the Great Slave Lake. The current population is in the region of 520. There is no graded road access and access is by boat or air. The main local economy revolves around hunting and fishing, with efforts being made to increase tourism amid the wilderness and the wildlife. The airfield is just over a mile east of the village, with a runway of around 3,400 feet of gravel aligned 09-27 as of 2010, with PAPI at both ends and lit. There are scheduled flights from Yellowknife by Air Tindi, included in the AI, and some GA. The terminal building is similar to that of Lutselk'e, but with a different colour scheme and with solar panels on the roof. It appears that they repaint the sign on the front of the building with a different wording every time; the one I have used is one of three that have existed in the last few years. The photos I had originally were taken in the winter, with snow. Seeing it in the summer I discovered that my version of the building is not at the right level above the ground by about a foot, or 30cm. I was too lazy to make it again, which was the only way to get it right and still have it throw a shadow on the ground. This scenery modifies the lake shore, corrects levels for land and lake, and adds the village and a connecting road in addition to the airport. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.

| Anticosti Island in Quebec Canada |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Anticosti Island is in the Gulf of St Lawrence, around 25 miles off the Quebec mainland coast. It is some 40 miles wide and 130 miles long on an east west axis. There are few urban areas and only one that can be described as a small town, namely Port Menier at the western end of the southern coast, with a population of under 1,000. There is a ferry service to the harbour.
The airport, Port Menier CYPN, is around 3 miles northeast of the town, with an asphalt runway aligned 11-28, 4,875 feet long and 150 feet wide with PAPI at each end. In 2010 (the approximate date of this scenery) a gravel runway was still visible at the eastern end of the field. This was no longer in use by 2010, except perhaps by small planes on skis in the winter.
The island, with its small population, small urban area, and no industry other than logging, has as a result a mainly undisturbed wildlife population. This has made deer hunting and fishing the main tourist activities, with one company (called Safari) having an exclusive licence to exploit large areas of mountains and rivers. Planeloads of hunters and fishermen are flown in on chartered Nolinor Aviation planes, landing at CYPN. There are a further two airfields in the eastern end of the island, and in 2010 Rivere-Aux-Saumons CTH7 had a 5,500 feet gravel runway, linked by road to a lodge area at the mouth of the river. This is the only lodge area that I have been able to locate, but there are others. To the south Riviere Bell CRB5 had at that time a gravel runway that was 3,000 feet long. This has been lengthened since then and both runways were recently (2021) asphalted.
If you find an error email me please, and note that my email address has been changed to rogwens at Gmail dot com. The reason I am posting this now is that I discovered that my original post ended up in MSFS Original Aircraft instead of in FS2004 Scenery. Ooops!

| Louisiana State Police Texture Updates Bell/Textron 430 |
|
File Description:
FS2004 Bell/Textron 430 Helicopter Louisiana State Police Updates
This package contains 2 revised texture sets for: N810SP & N918SP which are based here in Baton Rouge.
These fixes add the gold stripe on the tail and reflect the readjusted bottom
gold cheat stripe and a few more small tweaks that make the textures more accurate.
There is a well known member of the FS Community that is also painting up more LSP Bell430s.I believe that his will feature 430s from LSP Troop I,B and C.
Giving you all more N#'s to fly based on your preference of which Troop you want to fly for.So keep an eye out for more LSP Bell 430s in the near future!!
As always....Enjoy!!
**P.S.***
I am finishing up on a custom scenery to compliment these repaints.
The scenery will feature a large photoreal terrain area of the Independence Park area here in Baton Rouge wich houses on its grounds the following:
Louisiana State Police Headquarters,Louisiana Statepolice Training acadamy, various State Gov't offices such as Dept. of Motor Vehicles,Louisiana State Office of Emergency Managment,State fire Marshals Offices,e.t.c.....
The main Helipad is set up as a runway..rwys 9-27 which feature their own ILS systems with outermarkers,an NDB,Fictioal Airport Designation of 1LSP.Trees,Military Landing Zones, resturants, minmalls, gas stations along the perimeter, the main Fire House/Fire Station for that area.the Main branch of the Public Library and the big school bus transfer area on the west side.Street lights along the roadways, and much more. With minimal impact of FPS.
This will be a great add-on tool for the real LSP and AIr Med pilots who fly into this place everyday. Now you guys/gals can practice approaches in inclement weather conditions without fear of ruining a 5 million dollar chopper, all the while honing your IMC skills.
This scenery will integrate seemlessly with the upcoming release of KBTR v2.
The screenshots in this archive are from KBTRv2 Beta and the 1LSP beta sceneries!!
Keep an eye out at the BSMP forum for updates and preview screenshots... www.bsmp.co.nz

| 10th Anniversary 9/11 Tribute Boeing 747-8i |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This will only work on the PMDG 747-8X. That means you must first own the 747-400x and buy the -8 expansion. This is the only aircraft this size and textures allowing this project to succeed so there will not be anymore of this version and it's only for the 747-8x.
This paint took me literally hundreds of hours. It's the hardest yet most rewarding effort I've ever done in a paint. It's the 10th Anniversary 9/11 Tribute. It has EVERY name of all that died that day. The names of the WTC victims are on the fuselage. The names of the Pentagon casualties are on the Right side tail. The engines have the aircraft broken down from flight crew and passengers. Keep in mind there are 4 sides to paint in the kit but 8 sides of a 4 engine plane in the sim. Therefore there are two of each and nothing anyone can do about.
Dedicated to all those that are missing their loved ones, all that died that day (and injured), and all the brave men and women that risked their lives and paid the highest of prices.
