Flight dynamics update V1.0 for FS2004 Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker By Mike Stone Download

File Description:
Flight dynamics update V1.0 for FS2004 Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker By Mike Stone Dynamics only, Original aircraft available at: http://www.pmstone.com/ Note: both these dynamics AND the real plane do NOT have thrust reversers. It seems the USAF did not want them on their plane, despite the availability on that engine model. Anyway, don't use the thrust reverse. A friend who's recently posted to a KC-135 squadron recently asked me to tweek the layout of the fuel tanks on Mike Stone's freeware KC-135. What I thought would be a very simple edit ended up being a full blown project that transformed how the model flies, and what kinds of payload configurations are possible. For instance, the KC can carry either internal fuel bladders in the main cargo bay, along with full wing and fuselage fuel, or it can take reduced fuel load and take on a fair amount of cargo pallets. My edits will allow you to choose one or the other, but it's defaulting to a air refueling mission that it sees more commonly. Once on my way, I requested and received permission from Mike Stone to share this edited dynamics, which I'm doing right now. Enjoy!

Boeing B-17G "Sentimental Journey" N9323Z Download

File Description:
This is a repaint only for the FSX Wings of Power II Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress, in the markings of the CAF Arizona Wing's B-17G "Sentimental Journey," N9323Z. "Sentimental Journey" rolled off the Douglas assembly line in late 1944, and was accepted by the Army Air Corp on March 13, 1945. Being delivered too late to serve in the European theater, the aircraft was assigned to the Pacific theater for the duration of the war. The aircraft served in the USAF until 1959 when it was put into storage. Within a few months the aircraft was acquired by the Aero Union Corporation of Chico, California and flew thousands of sorties against forest fires as a converted tanker. In 1978 the aircraft was donated to the newly founded Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, and after a local contest the aircraft was named "Sentimental Journey." The decision was made to use the most famous pinup picture of WWII for the nose art, which of course was that of Betty Grable's most tantalizing. Over the years the aircraft has been brought back to its WWII configuration, complete with all turrets, crew positions, bombay, and markings of the 457th Bomb Group. The aircraft makes on average each year an amazing 60 airshow stops nation wide.

Cessna 172N Skyhawk II (G-BEUX) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This archive only contains textures for the Carenado 172II V2 aircraft. In order for it to work, you need to own this specific aircraft. Since these are only textures, no further support is necessary, just follow the instructions below. If for some reason you don't like these textures, just delete the folder G-BEUX. Installation *** IMPORTANT*** I have included a .obj file that Dan Klaue provided to fix a small problem causing wing registrations to display incorrectly. The filename is TransparentStickers.obj. You must copy this file to the aircraft's main objects folder of the Carenado C172II v2 main folder. You will be asked if you want to replace the existing file, say yes. Make a backup of the original first. then... Open the zip file and move the whole folder G-BEUX to X-Plane 10 (where you installed X-Plane)--->Aircraft-->Carenado Cessna 172 v2 (where you installed the Carenado package)--->liveries. That's it! File information The textures herein are made from the Carenado blanks. I have made every attempt to faithfully reproduce G-BEUX to the best of my abilities. Limitations in the blank paint kit make it impossible to mirror correctly some of the details on the right fuselage, as only the left fuse is included.

U.S. Armed Forces Boeing CH-47D Chinook Version 2.0 Download

File Description:
This is a major upgrade to my recently released CH-47D Chinook U.S. Armed Forces file for FSX. This file has new replacement repaint textures and also incudes the original CH-47D Chinook model by Mark Adams & Tom Woods. You do not need to download the old version in order to use this file - no other files are necessary. This upgrade contains vast improvements including newly compressed texture files for significantly improved performance and space savings with minimal impact to image quality. All repaints now include actual unit markings and improved olive drab color. Pilots also now have appropriate unit markings. The two Army Chinooks carry unit markings for the 1st Cavalry, 2nd Battalion, 227th Air Regiment - this unit is currently active and provides troop and equipment transport and medivac for the 1st Cavalry - Air Mobile. The Marine Chinooks now carry markings for the 3rd Marine Air Wing. Special thanks to Delizisis Thanasis and Delizisis Panagiots for use of their textures as a painting template. The Original Model belongs to Mark Adams & Tom Woods, the reworked Flight Dynamics to Marwan Latif, the panel and the textures to Delizisis Thanasis and Delizisis Panagiots. P51 Black Widow for Vs. 6.4/6.51 Download

File Description:
P-61B BLACK WIDOW for x-plane 6.4/6.51 The need for a true night fighter aircraft was well demonstrated during the Battle of Britain in 1940. Aircraft used to counter German night attacks were not very effective. At the direction of the Air Corp's Carl A. Spaatz, John Northrop submitted a ground up night fighter design, which, designated as the XP-61, first flew on May 26, 1942. The Black Widow was the first aircraft designed from the ground up as a night fighter. Its innovative slotted flaps and spoiler ailerons allowed operation from short airstrips and improved handling; the radar carried in its nose made it the dominant force in the night skies of Europe and the South Pacific. From July 6, 1944, when it claimed its first victory, to war's end, the P-61 distinguished itself as one of America's most unique fighting machines. After the war, P-61s were used in reconnaissance, weather research, and flight testing. The first American flight ejections were made from a P-61. Only four P-61 aircraft are known to exist today. SPECIFICATIONS: ENGINES: 2 Pratt and Whitney R-2800 2000 HP radials WING SPAN: 66.0 ft. LENGTH: 49.42 ft. HEIGHT: 14.67 ft. MAXIMUM SPEED: 366 MPH ARMAMENT: Four 20mm Cannon.

Lockheed EP-3E Aries II Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FS2004 Lockheed EP-3E Aries II, a turboprop-based signals reconnaissance aircraft, operated by the United States Navy. It is based on a Lockheed P-3 Orion airframe, which is in turn based on the Lockheed L-188 Electra passenger airliner. There are eleven EP-3Es in the Navy's inventory, the last of which was delivered in 1997. A total of twelve P-3C aircraft were converted to replace older versions of the aircraft, which had been converted in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

On April 1, 2001, an EP-3E (PR-32) was intercepted by Chinese F-8 fighter jets about 70 miles off the Chinese island of Hainan. One of the Chinese jets bumped the wing of the EP-3E, which was forced to make an emergency landing in China. VQ-1 provides electronic reconnaissance from the east coast of Africa to the west coast of the United States. The squadron maintains a permanent detachment in Misawa Japan and has maintained a continuous presence in the Arabian Gulf since July 1992.

The model is the seventh P3 series aircraft by Team FS KBT. This model was made with Gmax. By Team FS KBT

Spruce Goose for X-Plane 6.4/6.51 (hk-1/H-4 Hercules) Download

File Description:
Spruce Goose v1.0 for X-Plane copyright (c) by Robert App, January 2003. History of the "Goose" - Officially designated the HK-1 (this project started out as a join venture between Hughes Aircraft and Kaiser) and later designated the H-4 Hercules after Kaiser was unable to work with Howard. It was and still remains the largest (physical dimensions wingspan and length) aircraft ever built, with the largest radial engines ever built by the West (28 cylinder, 3000 HP). The plane had to be constructed mainly of wood due to the shortage of strategic metals caused by WWII. The plane became known as the "Spruce Goose" or "Flying Lumberyard" despite the fact that the wood frame and skin were constructed mainly of laminated poplar; it also involved "sandwich" construction. The plane was flown briefly on a trial taxiing run but Hughes never allowed the plane to be flown again. Speculation has always been rampant that the design was flawed and the plane could not have met the original specification requirements. The X-Plane model is as accurate as is possible with limited plans available to me. The main wing is an X-Plane standard symmetrical high lift airfoil as opposed to the high lift asymmetrical foil section used in the actual plane. The main wing angle of attack has been adjusted to emulate the asymmetrical foil as closely as possible. Flight Testing the Goose - I have spent many hours testing the plane on X-Plane which with few exceptions provides a very accurate flight model. The published landing speed (79 mph) pretty well verifies the takeoff speed of 52 to 55 knots (k/hr x 1.15 (approx.) = mph). In straight flight the plane is difficult to stall since the nose quickly drops and increases speed if a stall develops with a significant loss of altitude. The plane has a range on 14000 gallons of fuel and takeoff weight of 350,000 Lbs of well over 3000 nautical miles. San Diego to Wake Island via Midway Attol is a piece of cake with lots of fuel to spare at 350,000 lb GW. The plane is flyable at a GW of over 410,000 lb but climb rate is very sluggish (max 400-600 fpm) and loss of speed due to excessive side slip can cause a fatal stall, in straight flight the plane is difficult to stall. So far my conclusion is that with todays materials and jet engines (which may be a future project) this aircraft could probably be competitive in performance with todays planes. With aluminum alloys that were available during its construction its performance would probably have exceeded the initial requirements.
