Republic P-47D-20 365th FG (B4-W) "Mortician's Delight" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-5-RE 42-8438 B4-W "Morticians Delight", one of the P-47's flown by Lt Neal Worley of the 387th FS/ 365th FG. Lt. Worley's first two P-47's were called 'Kansas Jack', referring to his Emporia, Kansas upbringing, but he did not feel like naming his third aircraft. His crew came up with 'Morticians Delight', and Worley himself painted the picture on the engine cowling. In 127 missions, he crashed 5 Thunderbolts. His coolness under pressure was immortilized on July 26th, 1944. A 20 mm shell hit his right wheel well during an attack on Sauveur Lendelin, jamming the wheel. He discovered that only the left wheel would lower, but would not retract, so bellying in was no longer an option. He circled for over an hour, burning fuel, and then landed on only the left gear, easing the fighter down. When the right wing dipped just enough, he hit the left brake, and the P-47 spun to a stop. His landing was captured on film, and used in the movie "Fighter Squadron". The aircraft was repaired, and flew missions the very next day, as a testament to the ruggedness of the Thunderbolt. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Martin Catney.

Su-34 (Su-27IB) Fighter Bomber Download

File Description:
The Su-34 (also known as Su-27IB) fighter bomber has been developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau Joint Stock Company in Moscow and the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association at Novosibirsk in Russia. First deliveries of the fighter bomber are expected to begin in 2005 and it is planned as a replacement for Su-24 and Su-25 aircraft. Su-34 is one of a number of Russian aircraft (Su-27, Su-30, Su-33 and Su-35) which have been given the NATO codename Flanker. The Su-34 fighter bomber is a derivative of the Su-27 fighter aircraft. The aircraft design retains the basic layout and construction of the Su-27 airframe, with a conventional high-wing configuration and a substantial part of the onboard equipment. The Su-34 has a changed contour of the nose section to accommodate an advanced multi-mode phased array radar with terrain following and terrain avoidance modes. It has a two-seat rather than single-seat cockpit. The capacity of the internal fuel tanks has been increased with a resulting increased take-off weight. Changes have been made to the central tail boom for a rear-facing radar. This model of the Su-34 for X-Plane version 6.30 includes two air-to-air missile types, the R-27, and R-73. Once downloaded, install the missiles into your weapons folder.

AeroSur Boeing 767-284/ER "Sharko" (CP-2659) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
I am quite proud to present this very detailed and accurate repaint of Aerosur's Boeing 767-284/ER logojet named "Sharko", in the Project Opensky B762 V4 model. This logojet of Aerosur of Bolivia turns heads wherever she goes. She joins a rather large group of other AeroSur logojets, forming a total complement of 8. This aircraft flies into Miami (KMIA) and Dulles (KIAD) in the USA. This repaint is almost 100% hand painted. All artwork is hand rendered except the AeroSur Eagle logo. Custom textures included in this repaint are; hand-painted realistic 3D windows with window shades, custom tires, custom night textures (and alpha), custom fuselage shading, tug with AeroSur logo, stewardess is a an actual AeroSur stewardess in AeroSur uniform, interior exit signs in Spanish (SALIDA), custom fuselage shading and many others. The screen shots included with this package showcase this detailed repaint and the outstanding Miami International Airport (KMIA) scenery recently released by LatinVFR. Fuselage, engine, wing and tail textures are 32-bit with no mips for best clarity and quality. As this has been one of the most enjoyable and challenging repaints for me, I hope you enjoy flying this wonderful aircraft as much as I did creating it. This is a complete install and contains all Project Opensky provided files current to Version 2004.8.0. The sound is from the default B737.

FSX Grand Canyon North Rim Simulation Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Welcome to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon! This scenery is a mostly fictitious representation of what the North Rim might look like of it had been developed like the South rim. A new airport (KKPA, Kaibab Plateau Airport) is the centerpiece. It sits at 8,730 ft MSL so density altitude is a real issue. Runway 17/35 is 6,500ft long so biz jets can get in and out safely. A new resort sits atop the ridge to the east [Eagle's Nest]. There is a helipad for access. An NDB makes finding it easier [AZ95 220.9 kHz]. Or you can just follow the traffic on the access road that branches off from highway 67 just south of the airport. To the north I have added a gravel strip to Jacob Lake where 67 joins 89A. Runway 14/32 is 3000 ft long and sits at 7900 ft MSL. An NDB [AZ93 393 kHz] is included. At the south end of Highway 67 sits the North Rim Visitor Center. There is a helipad on the roof for those who like rotary wing challenges. The NDB is AZ94 at 423.4 kHz. The entire length of Highway 67 is represented with traffic going both ways. You will see air traffic from KGCN at the South Rim and traffic between KKPA and Jacob Lake.

Hunting Percival Sea Prince Belgian Air Force (RM-7) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Percival Sea Prince by Rob Richardson, in the colors of RM-7 of the Belgian Air Force, in the paintscheme it wore in its first year of service. In 1953 the Belgian Government ordered 12 Percival Pembroke's through Contract N° SP140 as a replacement for the ageing Avro Anson. The aircraft was used for short-range transport and liaison flights. Between 1956 and 1957 several brand-new Pembrokes were stored at Wevelgem awaiting a future detachment to the Belgian Congo, which eventually never materialised. A number of Pembrokes were also used for the benefit of the Belgian National Geographical Institute that used the aerial photographs obtained with the Pembrokes to produce very detailed maps of the country. In 1978 the Pembrokes were struck of charge after their replacement, the Swearingen Merlin III became operational. All but two Pembrokes were sold to the rather dark company Air America (not to be confused with the CIA-supported Air America that was operational in South-East Asia), which was owned by a drugsdealer. After some very adventurous carreers in Souith America, several former Belgian Pembrokes were acquired and preserved in the USA. RM-7 is preserved in Belgium at Melsbroek air base by the Dakota Historical Center 15th Wing. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Rob Richardson.

Heinkel P-1079A Night-Fighter Download

File Description:
Heinkel P-1079, a new twin-jet fighter project of the Heinkel Aircraft Construction Corp. was designed in five variations, all under the same designation. The first of these advanced designs, the Heinkel P-1078A was basically developed as a two-seated nightfighter. The pilot and the gunner/navigator were sitting in tandem position. The wings were swept back 35 degrees, mounted to mid-fuselage. The tail had a V-shaped rudder. The armament were three Rheinmetall-Borsig MK 108 30mm cannons in the nose and 24 R4-M 'Orkan' high explosive rockets on two racks mounted under the wings. Another feature of armament was the so-called 'schraege musik' with four upward-firing 20 mm Mauser MG 151/20 autocannons, mounted in the back of the aircraft. Therefore, the nightfighter had to approach and attack bombers from below, guided into position by commands from the navigator. The aircraft should be equipped with the new FUG 228 radar unit. This sophisticated radar would have empowered the aircraft with an almost all-weather ability. The engines were located in the wing roots. This version should be fitted with two Junkers Jumo 004D turbojet engines with two-stage fuel injector, each with 8.8 kN of power.

The max. speed was about Mach 0.89 = 950kph
The Range 1079.22nm = 1241.9 sm = 2000 km
The max. Service Ceiling was up to 51,000 ft = 15,545m

Nick's AI Jet Exhaust With Control Gauge Download

File Description:
Hanging around the airport watching the A-I traffic and chasing A-I jet aircraft just got a little more interesting. Enjoy watching your entire A-I jet fleet as they display engine heat shimmer effects -after- push-back from the terminal and during taxi to the active runway. All the A-I traffic take off displaying a lite, expanding, frame-rate friendly and nicely scaled high throttle heat/exhaust trail FX which remain with the A-I aircraft during its entire flight. To top off the show, the A-I aircraft that are throttled down and landing display no exhaust from the engines! This package also comes with a gauge that allows pilot throttle control of the taxi heat shimmer/full-throttle exhaust FX for the jet aircraft being flown in the sim by the user. This package does NOT interfere with the logo, taxi or wing lights of any aircraft and comes with 5 all new exhaust effects files which can be applied to just about any size private, commercial or military jet. It requires editing/adding lines in the aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg files. The README files include very complete and comprehensive instructions including a quick and easy copy/paste file for all the Microsoft jet aircraft and tutorial on making custom gauges from the one provided. This package completely replaces my original *Nick's Jet Smoke* package and any/all updates for it. By Nick Needham

Skylab 2 Mission Download

File Description:
The Skylab space station was launched May 14, 1973, from the NASA Kennedy Space Center by a huge Saturn V launch vehicle, the moon rocket of the Apollo Space Program. Sixty-three seconds after liftoff, the meteoroid shield--designed also to shade Skylab's workshop --deployed inadvertently. It was torn from the space station by atmospheric drag. This event and its effects started a ten-day period in which Skylab was beset with problems that had to be conquered before the space station would be safe and habitable for the three manned periods of its planned eight-month mission. skylab 2 25 May 1973 13:00 GMT. Duration: 28.03 days. Call Sign: Skylab. Backup Crew: McCandless, Musgrave, Schweickart. Nation: USA. Agency: NASA. Launch Site: Cape Canaveral . Launch Complex: LC39B. Launch Vehicle: Saturn IB . LV Configuration: Saturn IB s/n SA-206. Program: Skylab. Class: Manned. Type: Lunar spacecraft. Spacecraft: Apollo CSM. Payload : Apollo CSM 116. Mass: 19,979 kg. Location of Spacecraft: Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola, FL. Perigee: 427 km. Apogee: 439 km. Inclination: 50.0 deg. Period: 93.2 min. Epic repair mission which brought Skylab into working order. Included such great moments as Conrad being flung through space by the whiplash after heaving on the solar wing just as the debris constraining it gave way; deployment of a lightweight solar shield, developed in Houston in one week, which brought the temperatures down to tolerable levels. With this flight US again took manned spaceflight duration record.

Global Airways Douglas C-54 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The repaint features Global Airways' N79000, an early production Douglas C-54 (c/n 3058) built at the Douglas factory at Santa Monica, CA, and delivered to the USAAF on February 8, 1943 as 41-37272. In 1946 the Civil Aviation Administration took her over as NC79000. Having been converted to DC-4 standard, she was bought on April 11, 1951 by Eastern Air Lines as N79000 '721'. In May 1955 she was sold and served many users such as Northwest, Transocean and World. In 1960 California Airmotive became the owner of the C-54. During September and October 1960 the C-54 was leased by Global Airways, a company based in Philadelphia, PA, from 1946 to around 1960. (founded by Simon Bolnick and Joseph Raphael; passenger charter operations included fishing and hunting charters to Canada.) In May 1961 the C-54 was sold as D-ADAM to Continentale in Germany. Already in December 1962 Continentale went bankrupt and the aircraft was stored in the open at Hamburg. In July 1963 Aviation Traders (Engineering) Ltd purchased the C-54 for conversion to Carvair car-ferry aircraft. As it turned out, the condition of the C-54 was extremely poor (corrosion on many places on the wing spars) so makeshift repairs were done before the aircraft was ferried to Stansted for its rebuild to Carvair G-ASKN.

Textures only. You will need Jens B. Kristensen's FSX Douglas DC-4 & C-54 (DC4_V30X.ZIP). Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.

China Clipper Martin M-130 for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 Download

File Description:
China Clipper or Martin M130 for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 - Built by the Martin Company for Pan American Airlines, they were known by the company as Martin Ocean Transports. Only three of these aircraft were built, the China Clipper, the Philippine Clipper and the Hawaii Clipper. To the public, China Clipper became a generic name and originally was applied to all three of the Martin M-130's in Pan Am's fleet and, later, even to the Boeing B-314's which came later. With 4-950 HP radial engines giving a cruising speed of 163 mph and with a range in excess of 3200 miles the "Clippers" were used in the pacific by Pan Am. The "China Clipper" on November 22, 1935 inaugurated the first trans-pacific postal service with 111,000 letters; it returned to San Francisco on December 6, 1935. In 1936 the Hawaii Clipper and Philippine Clipper inaugurated paying passenger service to the Philippines and Hong Kong respectively. These were the original "Clippers" for those including the Boeing B134 to follow. Look for the B134 soon for X-Plane. Just a note : since landing gear skids are used for the wing braces X-Plane thinks that the plane has landing gear and will actually place it on the ground at the airport you select, choose an airport near water and then request a seaplane takeoff or pick a location and altitude on the regional or planet map.
