Airspeed AS.5 Courier Download

File Description:
FSDS V3.0 Airspeed Courier. Has reflective Textures, usual animations, 2D Panel using all default Gauges plus a VC. The Airspeed AS.5 Courier was a British six-seat single-engined light aircraft that saw some use as an airliner. Production aircraft were built by Airspeed (1934) Limited at Portsmouth. It first flew on 10 April 1933 and was the first British type with a retractable undercarriage to go into production, with a total of 16 built. The prototype Courier was designed by Hessell Tiltman (co-founder of Airspeed Limited) and was built in 1932 by Airspeed at York for an attempt by Sir Alan Cobham to carry out a non-stop flight to India, using airborne refuelling. Airspeed moved from York to Portsmouth before the Courier G-ABXN first flew on 10 April 1933. The Courier was a wooden low-winged cabin monoplane; it had a novel feature for the day of a retractable undercarriage. The prototype was powered by an Armstrong Siddeley Lynx engine. The prototype had two minor accidents, in April 1933 at Portsmouth and in June 1933 at RAF Martlesham Heath. The aircraft was repaired on both occasions. After a year spent perfecting airborne refuelling, Alan Cobham took off from Portsmouth in the prototype Courier on an attempted flight to India on 24 September 1934, being refuelled from a Handley Page W.10 before making a forced landing at Malta due to a broken throttle.

Astrakhan City topology and autogen Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
I'm pleased to introduce you the project of topology and autogen of Astrakhan city, Russia, version 1.0b. The project is for MS Flight Simulator 2004.

This projects changes the default autogen of the city and its neighborhood, that doesn't correspond to the real city. Also it adds missing rivers, islands, roads, railroads, and bridges in the vicinity of the city and Astrakhan aerodrome (URWA) and removes non-existent bridges across the Volga river.

This scenery is not professional since I designed it to my own cheek in Ground2K4 to replace the default terrible scenery and make my flights to homeland more comfortable. That's why it is probable, that you can face some challenges (although, I didn't see any problems yet). The project has several disadvantages: all bridges are autogen, so they don't look very similar to real ones (but they are better, that their absence and presence of several non-existent :) ); no autogen on added islands (although the autogen option for them is set on in Ground2K4), I will continue to work on it; rivers that fall into the Volga river have the default shoreline visible at theirs mouths (it's possible to remove it, but only on the square of big area, in that case the river-land transition doesn't look real).

Overall, this project is more for IFR flights, than VFR. But, again, even for VFR flights it's much better than the default crap (imho!).

Kugaaruk CYBB and DEW Pelly Bay CWPB in Nunavut, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Kugaaruk is on the coast of northern mainland Canada on the Boothia Peninsula, 60 miles into a deep north-south fjord-like inlet called Pelly Bay. The name was changed from Pelly Bay in 1999, and the population is around 800. Gjoa Haven is 150 miles to the west, and Hall Beach just over 200 miles to the east. Six miles south of the village, and connected by a gravel road, there is a NWS station and what remains of a DEW Auxiliary Site; the DEW site was closed in 1992, a year after the NWS station became operational. There is also a 3,350 feet long gravel runway beside Barrow Lake 2 miles east of the site, Pelly Bay CWPB. Kugaaruk airfield is adjacent to the village and the 5,000 feet of 100 feet wide gravel runway is aligned 049T/229T where T stands for "true" as opposed to magnetic. There are flights by First Air and Canadian North and the AI includes a daily flight of each from Yellowknife via Gjoa Haven (as per real life) plus a cargo visit by Buffalo. Although the runway is long enough to accomodate a 737 it is not licensed for regular scheduled jet flights; the reason for this is that the approach lighting is "inadequate". Included here is a new .bgl for Gjoa Haven which will remove the small hold short line from the gravel; my mistake.

RNP Approach Procedures for Southeast Alaska, for use with the PMDG 737 NGX Download

File Description:
These are updated RNP procedures used in Southeast Alaska in conjunction with the PMDG 737. While similar procedures exist else ware, the goal of these was not to code the exact procedure that is used in real world ops. The reason is because the PMDG 737 isn't capable of flying radius fix legs, which are used extensively in RNP procedures. If the approach and departures are coded as they are in the real aircraft, the flight path is not accurate. All other procedures I have located out there exhibit this limitation, which leads to unstabilized approaches. The goal with these procedures is to have the PMDG 737 fly the same flight path as the real world procedures. Many of the fixes loaded into the FMS are sudo waypoints but as many of the true fixes are utilized to the extent possible. This means, when you arrive at minimums for the RNP 05 at Petersburg or the RNP 29 at Sitka, very little maneuvering will be required. Installation is a little tedious but will be well worth is. Included airports and procedures: Juneau - PAJN CHLKT1 GLAZZ1 RODMN1 RNAV (RNP) M 08 RNAV (RNP) M 26 Ketchikan - PAKT ANN3 DOOZI2 UDENE3 RNAV (RNP) M 11 RNAV (RNP) M 29 Petersburg - PAPG GORBY4 HURAS2 RNAV (RNP) M 05 RNAV (RNP) M 23 Sitka - PASI RNAV (RNP) M 11 RNAV (RNP) M 29 Wrangle - PAWG KAJBU5 RNAV (RNP) M 10 RNAV (RNP) M 28

UGAM Ambrolauri Airport, Georgia [MSFS] Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Ambrolauri Ambrolauri (Georgian: ამბროლაური) is a city in Georgia, located in the western part of the country, on both banks of the Rioni river, at the elevation of 550 m above sea level. It is a self-governing city. At the same time, the city serves as the seat of the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regional administration and the Ambrolauri Municipality. According to the 2014 census, the city had a population of 2,047. Its area is 1.6 km². Ambrolauri is first recorded in the 17th century as a place, where one of the palaces of the kings of Imereti was located. It acquired the city status in 1966 and became a self-governing city with its own municipal government in 2014. The Airport The airport is nestled into the Caucasus mountains right at the bank of the river Rioni. It has a single runway of 1100 m length and caters small propeller aeroplanes. The apron has space for two planes at a time and caters up to 50 passengers at one time. In the Simulator The virtual airport is very close to its real-world counterpart. All the buildings at and near the airport are modelled and the terminal even has an interior that can be seen from outside. The look and feel from a trip to the Racha region is definitely there. In real life, only small planes fly to the airport but that shouldn't stop you to bring planes from the size of the Dash 8.

RAF Honeybourne 1945 - Worcestershire, England Download

File Description:
RAF Honeybourne was a Royal Air Force station located 0.6 miles (0.97 km) south of Honeybourne, Worcestershire, England and 4.6 miles (7.4 km) east of Evesham, Worcestershire, England. The airfield was home to No. 24 Operational Training Unit RAF (OTU) which used Vickers Wellingtons and Armstrong Whitworth Whitleys from 15 March 1942 until July 1945 flying many operational bombing and leaflet dropping operations. A number of units from Ferry Command were based here including a ferry training unit using Lockheed Hudsons and Bristol Beauforts. The airfield was also temporarily home to No. 21 OTU flying Wellingtons from RAF Enstone from August 1945 for two months because the runways at their home base were being repaired. From October 1945 until 1946 107 Sub Storage Unit from No. 8 Maintenance Unit used the airfield for storing Wellingtons and General Aircraft Hamilcar gliders. The role of the airfield after the war changed with the reduction of flying movements and with a slight change in what the units did on the airfield when No. 107 Sub Storage Unit from 1947 began to collect no longer needed Wellingtons which were then scrapped and taken to Weston Subedge goods yard (which was near to the south-western corner) where the railway would take them to the necessary destination. In July 1948 the site was closed and much has reverted to farmland with runways being removed in 1968. Since then, the airside area has evolved into the Honeybourne Airfield Trading Estate with the five hangars being used for different purposes.

Allakaket 6A8 Runway and Taxiway Lighting in Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Allakaket is on the Koyukuk River in Alaska, 40 miles southwest of Bettles. This posting adds proper runway and taxiway lighting to the scenery, as shown in the screenshots. There will be lights on top of traffic cones visible during the day, just as there are at Allakaket in real life so that pilots can still see them after a snowfall. At night there will be lit lights that properly illuminate the runway for landing, and at a lower level of brightness the taxiway. Put the bgl's into the existing scenery folder of your Allakaket 6A8 installation and say yes to replace the existing bgl's that have the same names. Add the texture bmp's to the texture folder. That's all, and in fact you could try it without the textures in the Allakaket 6A8 texture folder, but read on. Instal the Library objects once and for all by placing the CONTENTS of the Lighting Library scenery folder in your static objects scenery folder and the CONTENTS of the texture folder in the static objects texture folder (which is how I install scenery objects libraries). Alternatively, put them in the scenery and texture folders of your Add on scenery folder, or even in the main scenery and texture folders. They just have to be in related scenery and texture folders that are always active when FS9 is running. There will be further retro upgrades to other recent scenery that was posted with temporary lighting. Say thank you to Greg Putz for making the lighting.

P-51D Mustang "Upupa Epops" Download

File Description:
This is a repaint pack only for the WWII Fighters P-51D. P-51D 44-72364 was built at the North American Aviation Inglewood plant in 1944. It was sent into action with the 353rd Fighter Group, 352nd Fighter Squadron, 8th Air Force. The aircraft was flown by Capt. Harrison "Bud" Tordoff, who named it "Upupa Epops", latin for the Hoopoe Bird which has ungainly flight. At war's end Bud Torduff had claimed nine enemy airplanes shot down, one of them an Me-262 shot down while flying "Upupa Epops." After the war the aircraft was sent to the Royal Swedish Air Force, then flew with the Dominican Air Force from 1952 until 1984. Paul Allen, of Microsoft fame, purchased the aircraft in 1999, adding it to his growing muesum, the Flying Heritage Collection. The aircraft immediately went to WestPac, in California, for restoration. During this time period it was restored inside and out, matching every component to every specification of the original, utilizing documents upon documents of information. When the aircraft completed restoration in 2001, it was the most original, most authentic of its type. After several test flights in its factory finish, the original "Upupa Epops" markings were applied. Currently the aircraft can be seen at its newest home, with the Flying Heritage Collection, at Paine Field, near Seattle. Included within this download are two repaints, one portrays exactly how "Upupa Epops" looked when it rolled out of WestPac's shop after restoration, in factory standard, and the second portrays the aircraft complete with markings.
