Consolidated PBY-5 TEAL ZK-AMP Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft PBY Catalina for FSX. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the repaint kit by Aerosoft. The Royal New Zealand Air Force had 56 Catalina's in all between 1943 and 1953. They were registered NZ4001-4056 inclusive and included 22 PBY-5s (mostly MklVAs) with the remainder being PB2B-1 s. All were flying boats, with no amphibian models being taken on charge. After the war only half a dozen or so of the best aircraft were maintained in service with No 5 Sqn (squadron code became KN-) and fitted with the latest search radar which had a large radome behind the cockpit. The remainder were put into storage. Two PB2B-ls were loaned to Tasman Empire Airways (TEAL) for short periods after the war, one (which became ZK-AMI) as a crew trainer, the other (ZK-AMP, former NZ4036) to survey a flying boat route from Fiji to Tahiti, later to become known as "The Coral Route" and used by TEAL's Solent flying boats. These two aircraft were eventually returned to the RNZAF before being scrapped.

Default Terminal Buildings Subset V2 scenery objects Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
[Version 2 adds specific compatibility with RWY12, ADE9X, and Sbuilder 2.05. If you have already installed the previous version of this library and are NOT using one of these programs to place scenery objects, you do not need to download and install V2.] Many scenery making programs for FS9 give us access to the default terminal buildings in the FS9 libraries. Unfortunately the FS9 libraries are completely unorganized, so finding a specific shape and color of building can be time consuming. Also, many of the terminal buildings are too distinctive in appearance to be of much use to someone who is looking for simple shapes to use as "building blocks" to create their own terminals. I went through most of the FS9 scenery libraries that contain terminal buildings and chose a representative sampling of simple shapes in the various textures that are available, and compiled these into a scenery object library. This makes it easier to find, say, a two story, T-shaped, yellow textured terminal building. These are not new objects, they are default scenery objects created and owned by Microsoft. I'm simply providing a more convenient way to use them. Previous version had 9300(!) downloads.

Druine Turbulent Download

File Description:
A 'generic' Turbulent, representing no particular aircraft, this is a relatively basic AF99 model, (no animations), dusted down and re-polished for FS2004, and fitted out with a custom set of xml gauges on an aluminium panel. This is definitely an aircraft to be sat in and flown, not examined in detail from the outside, the features just aren't there. An old favourite of mine, first designed "way back when" in A&AF for FS4, now dragged back out of the hanger and used as an ideal "lo & slo" aircraft with photographic VFR scenery and/or a good terrain package, the small panel allowing a much better view in flight than many other aircraft. With a cruise speed of 80kts you'll not be in a hurry to get anywhere, but with a landing speed of around 30kts and a take-off roll of "not a lot" you can operate into and out of any farmstrip. These slow speeds, combined with the relatively good visibility from the cockpit, also make this an ideal aircraft for "tailwheel conversion" ... great if you have problems landing the Extra 300 or possibly even the Cub.

Active ILS - KLAS (McCarran Intl - Las Vegas, Nevada) Download

File Description:
As most know initiating the ILS at certain airports for AI Aircraft or User Planes is not a function at this time when using AFCAD2 if visibilty falls below 3 miles. This is do to the somewhat complex XML code that has to be written for NAVAIDS and then the compiling into a bgl file. If you add a new ILS runway to an airport such as KLAS (rwy 01L) only the user aircraft can use this runway when visibility falls below 3 miles. ATC will no longer use 01L ILS runway for AI Traffic or User Aircraft (by default) because FS9 sees it as a visual runway and will now vector your Planes back to rwy 7/25LR ILS which is also being used as a Terminal Departure Runway. The KLAS_ILS_jv.bgl file adds all NAVAIDS for making 01L a Precision Instrument Runway by adding all the radar fixes for both the ILS/DME approach portion and the proper missed approach procedures as per current published plates for runway 01L. See the readme for what's new at the KLAS airport. **** AFCAD2 included for FS9 default scenery. ****

Galena PAGA Runway and Taxiway Lighting in Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Galena is in Alaska, and this posting adds proper runway lighting to the gravel runway that is used in the winter by light planes on skis, and because of that is not cleared of snow; unfortunately a gravel surface that gets snow covered in winter cannot be replicated in FS9. There are also taxiway lights visible during the day and at night there will be lit taxiway lights. I did not attempt to replicate the complicated main runway lighting which is well covered anyway by FS9. First of all, download and install the Library Objects once and for all from either the Allakaket Lights or Anaktuvuk Lights postings earlier this week. Then put these new bgl's into the existing scenery folder of your previous Galena PAGA installation and say yes to replace the existing bgl's that have the same names. Add the texture folder contents to the existing texture folder as they are required for the red warning lights at the ends of the gravel runway. There will be further retro upgrades to other recent scenery that was posted with temporary lighting. Say thank you to Greg Putz for making the lighting.

KCLT Charlotte Douglas International Airport Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
In 2008 runway 18R/36L at KCLT was renamed 18C/36C in anticipation of a third parallel under construction. The new runway was to be designated 18R/36L and was finally activated on January 6, 2010. This scenery adds that new runway to the default Charlotte Douglas International Airport (KCLT). This is a complete rebuild of my previous upload, KCLT2010 (not required) that inadvertently removed approximately 30 airports in the Charlotte area, including Fayetteville and Spartanburg. It also includes Terminal E, which was added in 2002, but never made it into the default FS2004 scenery. I used Airport Design Editor (ADE9x) to modify the default FS2004 KCLT file, renaming the default 18R/36L to 18C/36C, create the new taxiways, taxi signs, NavAids, 18R-36L runway, and Terminal E. I used Abacus EZ-Scenery to add jetways, gate markings, and ramp lights. All files, libraries, and textures are either default or included. No additional downloads are required. AI Aircraft were acting normally on my system. I sat at Taxiway W2 for the new Runway 18R/36L and watched AI Aircraft land and take off from it after creating this scenery.

FSX/FS2004 Flight Calculator Ver 1.6.5 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FS Flight Calculator will calculate distance and arrival times for both FSX and FS2004. The program has four input components, Local TimeZone, Departing Airport, Destination Airport and the Aircraft to be used for the flight. The program calculates the distance in nautical miles between two FlightSim Airports. It determines the flight length in hours based on the aircraft's speed and then calculates the Arrival time. If the flight time passes midnight the arrival day is incremented by a day. In addition this version takes into account the timezones of both departing and destination airports and calculates the timezone offset between them allowing display of the arrival in local time at the destination airport. The distances and times are based on point to point calculations and do not allow for taxi out, taxi in, start-up times etc. To compensate for this you can input a time period in minutes which is automatically added to the flight time to give a more accurate estimate of arrival times. This version also adds a Flight Summary Window to the main screen, the ability to create multi leg routes and a utility to create a new Aircraft.txt file. Freeware By Dave Westbury

FS2004 - AI Flight Creator Version 1.7.5 Download

File Description:
FS2004 - AI Flight Creator Version 1.7.5 AI Flight Creator is a utility designed to create AI FlightPlans for Microsoft's Flight Simulator FS2004. Built in support for Traffic Tools. The most difficult part of creating a new FlightPlan is to convert local time into GMT (UTC) to have the flights depart on time, both locally and internationally. AI Flight Creator allows you to select any Time Zone in the world, enter a local departure time and it will automatically convert the local time to GMT (UTC) time for your FlightPlan. Also supports Daylight Saving Time (DST). AI Flight Creator also has the ability to filter FlightPlans and display only the Departures or Arrivals for a selected Airport. It can randomly generate Aircraft Registration numbers with a user-defined prefix. Also provides support for Weekly departures and Touch and Go's. You'll need a copy of Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools to compile your new FlightPlans. Version 1.7.5 corrects a problem that can occur when loading flightplans. AI FlightPlan Creator is a companion utility to the AI FlightPlan Utilities package (AIFPE154.zip) available here at Flightsim. The previous version (1.7.4) had 1611 downloads. Puerto Rico AI Package Download

File Description:
This archive contains repaints and fictional flightplans for a variety of aircraft that operate in Puerto Rico. There are textures for Corporate Air Embraer 120s (5), the Air Flamenco Fleet of Islanders, MN Aviation Cessna C208Bs, Vieques Air Link Islanders, Linear Air C208Bs, CapCana C208Bs, the blue Roblex Islander "El Bebe", some Air Tahoma Convairs and a USDOJ SAAB2000 that operates repatriation flights and prisoner transport. There's also the CIA ATR42 that operates flights around the Caribbean and into Guantanamo Bay. Some seasonal aircraft are also here (operating to St Barths in the high season), these have a variety of real-world private registrations and there's the Islander N555DM too. There is alsoa PR Government (natural Resources) C208B. There are also afcads for the airports in PR, some more accurate than others. Many of these airplanes operate out of Aguadilla or Isla Grande (TJIG). The flightplans also reference some aircraft available elsewhere on Avsim (other Vieques paints for example, and the Roblex SD360). Some flightplans are also separated out by airline if you want to install thems separately using the MRAI installer (Corporate Air, Vieques and Air Flamenco).

TU-95MS Bear H Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Russian Air Force 37th Air Army operates the TU-95MS (TU-95M 55 Bear H) from the 182th TBAP unit based in Zavitinsk and 6213 BKHUAT based at Engels Air Base in the Moscow Region. It's use is primarily in maritime operations. She carries cruise missiles even if only used for submarine comms. Her initial design is a competitor with the B-52, but uses 4 Turboprop engines with 8 contra-rotating props. She can fly about as far as, but not as high as the B-52, nor can she fly as fast. She is often monitored off the coast of Alaska and easily met with F-22 Raptors every time. She is also often met by NATO fighters near European borders. Since 45,000 feet is about the highest she can cruise, most fighters can meet her. Her real danger is the cruise missiles which, if launched, have a range more than 1,500 nm and can pinpoint any directed target using GPS ground control. She is normally flown in formations of 3 or more, but sometimes only 2 are observed. She is not designed to fly fast over low terrain, like the B-52, but can do-so if necessary, and dangerously. The aircraft has not seen any major improvements or modifications since the cold war era, and several have crashed due to lack of maintenance. It is currently unknown how many are in service condition. Since much is unknown about this aircraft, yet enough is known to re-create an authentically working model, I have done-so here. Every bit of the aircraft.cfg file and associated .air file has been re-worked to match what known data can offer, and known aerodynamic formulas can equate. The most difficult aspect is the Turboprop aspect, since Turboprop engines do not work like jet engines in any way. Luckily for the simmer, there is no need to adjust feathering or anything like that would be necessary in a normal Turboprop because these engines are self-adjusting. Even though they meet the full known specs of the real engines, I have actually worked all the math to make them actual Turboprop engines (not pseudo-jet engines). That may sound exciting, but you must remember that she is a prop-driven aircraft, and not a jet. Even though you can fly her like a jet, the engines do not adjust like a jet. All aspects have been configured to meet realistic standards, including the MOI factors, weight/balance (including payload positions), gear locations, aircraft dimensions, light positions, engine smoke locations and operations, and weight. I did not simply throw this together, but have been perfecting her for many years.
