| Martin's Air Charter "1964" Douglas C-54B |

On 12 June 1962 the four years young Dutch charter company Martin's Air Charter (MAC), proud owner of two de Havilland DH-104 Dove and two Douglas C-47 ("DC-3") aircraft, welcomed at its Amsterdam homebase the flagship of the fleet: the Douglas C-54B ("DC-4") PH-MAE. Until that moment the largest aircraft of MAC, whose main activities were on the IT-charters and ad-hoc cargo transport, were C-47 PH-MAA which was limited to the transport of max. 32 passengers and C-47 PH-MAB which had a large freight door and could transport a maximum of 3 tons payload. C-54B PH-MAE was a huge improvement since it could transport 70 passengers or 7 tons payload. The other great advantage being it range (medium distance). It soon became a very popular aircraft. With the arrival of the larger Douglas DC-6A combiplane PH-MAM in 1966, the days of PH-MAE with MAC were numbered. The C-54B was sold to the German operator Allgemeine Lufttransport All-Air. Around the same time Martin's Air Charter had changed its name into Martinair Holland and as such entered the turboprop and jet age. These are textures only. You will need Jens B. On 13 December 1966 the Dutch charter company Martinair Holland (MAC), proud owner of a fleet of four Douglas C-47, a Douglas C-54B, two Convair 640, and four Douglas DC-7C aircraft, bought a Douglas DC-6A registered PH-MAM. The DC-6A, which at one time belonged to KLM and could transport 11 tons payload or 97 passengers, was aquired in order to replace the smaller C-54B PH-MAE. It was a very popular aircraft among crew and passengers alike. From the late October 1968 till the beginning of January 1970, PH-MAM flew on the Biafra airlift from the island of Fernando Po to Uli airstrip to provide humanitarian aid, on behalf of the Dutch Red Cross. Having returned from this mission, the aircraft was overhauled and used by Martinair for one more year, before being sold to Yugoslavia. These are textures only. My apologies to all who downloaded the FS2004/FSX repaint of the Martinair Holland Douglas DC-6A. (DC6A_MAC_PH-MAM.zip) It turned out that I made an error in the"instructions in the "read first". I just uploaded the proper procedure. If you follow these instructions it should be working fine.

Schiphol I had many years ago with former Martinair Captain Dries van Ommen. He
was in command of PH-MAM during the Biafra airlift. We had a nice conversion,
accompanied by the impressive sight and sound of a DC-6 during take off. These

Thanks to a major investment in 1964 by some large Dutch shipping companies, the 1958 founded Dutch charter company Martin's Air Charter, proud owner of a fleet of two de Havilland DH-104 Dove, four Douglas C-47, and one Douglas C-54B, was able to purchase from KLM one Convair 340 and one Douglas DC-7C Seven Seas aircraft. On 27 February 1964 the DC-7C PH-DSO was delivered at Schiphol. In November 1964 and May 1965 PH-DSL and PH-DSC were also bought from KLM. A fourth one, PH-MAK which has not been included in this package, was acquired from Alitalia. The great advantages of the DC-7C over the much smaller C-54B were its pressurised fuselage, its huge flying range and its payload, which was almost twice the C-54's payload. It was a very popular aircraft among crew and passengers alike. From September 1968 till late October 1968, PH-DSL, all white with red crosses applied to the wings, fuselage and fin, flew on the Biafra airlift from the island of Fernando Po to Uli airstrip to provide humanitarian aid, on behalf of the Dutch Red Cross. With the exception of PH-MAK which was sold to Spain in 1967, MAC's DC-7C's soldiered on till late 1968/early 1969 when they were sold. These are textures only. | KLM Aerocarto DH-89B Dominie (PH-OTA) |

This file contains a repaint for the beautiful de Havilland DH-89A Dragon Rapide by Dave Garwood c.s. which is available at Classic British Flight Sim. It features the DH-89B Dominie PH-OTA of KLM's susidiary KLM Aerocarto which was used from 1952 till 1962 for air photography. The real aircraft still exists, in the camouflage livery it had during its days with the -then- Netherlands Air Force. It is part of the static collection of the Nationaal Militair Museum (National Military Museum) at Soesterberg, Netherlands which is to open its doors in the Autumn of 2014. The de Havilland DH-89 Dragon Rapide was designed as a short-haul airliner for 6-8 passengers, making its first flight from Hatfield on 17 April 1934. During WW2 many Dragon Rapides were impressed by the military forces for communications transport and served under the name de Havilland Dominie. Additionally over 500 Dominies were built, the majority as radio and navigation trainers but several also as communications and transport aircraft. Since de Havilland's priority was the mass production of the famous Mosquito, 335 of the Dominies (including PH-OTA)
were built by Brush Coachworks Ltd., Loughborough, UK. In all 731 DH-89's were built, several of which are still airworthy some 68 years after production came to an end. Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.

| KLM Aerocarto DH-89B Dominie (PH-OTA) * Fix * |

The day after I uploaded my repaint for the KLM Aerocarto DH-89B Dominie, I was confronted with to me unknown close-up photos of this aircraft after her unfortunate but not too harmful nose-over when her blocked main wheels had touched the runway at Schiphol after a photo flight on 5 May 1959. (the poor pilot had pulled the handle for the wheelbrakes instead of the flap handle.) It turned out that I used an incorrect font for the name under the cockpit and that the rudder needed a bit more red paint. Luckily, the underside of the plane's fuselage had become perfectly visible, so the installation of the photocamera in the fuselage could be added to the repaint too. Hence this fix which makes this FS2004 version of PH-OTA just that bit more realistic. My apologies for anu inconvenience.

| NAC de Havilland DH-114 Heron 1B |

File Description: In 1957 they were written from use. One Heron was sold to the UK but sadly suffered a fatal crash on delivery. The other three, including ZK-BBM, were stored and in 1960 sold to Fiji Airways (later Air Pacific). In November 1975 Rotorua-based Air North bought ZK-BBM from Air Pacific. Already in 1978 she made her final landing and was stored for years at Ardmore Airfield. Classic Flyers NZ, based at Tauranga Airport acquired the Heron in March 1989. Since then she has been restored for static display at the Classic Flyers Museum.
You will need the DH-114 package available at Classic British Flightsim.
New Zealand National Airways Corporation (NAC) was the first operator to receive the DH-114. From 1952 till 1957 NAC flew with four Herons 1B's, which were acquired to serve those airfields which could not take NAC's standard airliner of those days, the Douglas DC-3. The Herons primarily flew across Cook Strait (Rongotai-Blenheim-Nelson) and later also to Hamilton and Rotorua. Since many modifications were required for this new airliner, the Herons proved too costly.

From 1 January 1962 till July 1963 the Dutch operator Martin's Air Charter (MAC) had a de Havilland DH-114 Heron Srs 2 in its fleet. The first year Heron PH-VLA flew for the Paris-based European branch of the New York Herald Tribune on a daily service (except Sunday) to Geneva, Zurich and Frankfurt for the distribution of newspapers. On 1 April 1963 PH-VLA was short-term leased to Lufthansa for the service Frankfurt-Stuttgart. However this lease came to a premature end when on 1 May 1963 the Heron was severely damaged by a tractor while at Frankfurt. After the incident the Heron was sold to England. In 1946 and 1947 the newly established Norwegian airline Braathens South American & Far East Airtransport A.S. purchased for its medium- and long haul operations on charter basis four ex-USAAF Douglas C-54A Skymasters. Three of them had been converted to DC-4 standard by Texas Maintenance Company (Temco) at Fort Worth, Texas, and featured on the starboard side an enlarged emergency exit. The fourth C-54A was purchased from KLM. Around 1950 the Norwegian authorities concluded that Braathens' operations got increasingly a structural character, read: scheduled, operations and as such became a threat for Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) which was a conglomerate of "state" airlines of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. SAS received all concessions for the international scheduled routes, which meant the end of the use of the Temco converted C-54A's. These are textures only. You will need Jens B.
