Port McNeill CAT5 in British Columbia, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Port McNeill is at the northern end of Vancouver Island, on the coast and around 20 miles east of Port Hardy. The town population is just over 2,000 and the main industry is logging, followed by sand and gravel quarrying and exporting for the construction industry. Tourism rates third. The airport, a mile or so east of the town, provides a swift connection for nearby islands and the surrounding area to the rest of the west coast, and serves as the HQ main base for West Coast Helicopters. Their newly built large hangar and office accommodation is next to their older hangar to one side of the central public parking area, opposite the club house cum terminal and hangars. There are two runways: 06-24 which is asphalt, 2,400 feet long, and lit; and 11-29 of gravel, 3,650 feet long and also lit. There is some taxiway lighting, but not, for instance, for the connection between runways, which is in real life a ramp up to the gravel runway which is 15 feet higher. There are no regularly scheduled flights and traffic consists mainly of the West Coast helicopters, plus GA and irregular charters, the latter being mostly from Port Hardy.

KFHR Friday Harbor Photoreal Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This Scenery consists of the FSX default airport of Friday Harbor, set on photorealistic terrain. Although the scenery has been compiled with night masks, night terrain has been excluded to reduce the file size. It has been designed for Megasceneryearth photorealistic scenery of the San Juan Islands but will also work with the default terrain. Seasonal variations are not included. The main scenery file has been subdivided into several smaller files, which can be switched off according to user preference. Full night textures are included with wash lighting in the terminal and carpark areas. All buildings have been custom modelled using real photographs, and include open hangers with interiors. Next to the fuel station you will find Ernie's Cafe, much loved by resident and visiting pilots. Close to the airport you will find US style houses modelled on real photographs from the San Juan island. Surfaced airport taxiways and aprons have been kept to a minimum to allow the photoreal textures to show through. The scenery also includes sound effects and high definition people, these can be switched off if they place too much strain on your system. Please enjoy, and I hope you like my scenery as much as I enjoyed making it.

Portland KPDX 2010 scenery for FS9 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Portland KPDX 2010 is a highly detailed and accurate replacement for the default FS9 KPDX scenery. The airport has been completely rebuilt and includes: * All new taxiways, aprons, roads, buildings and parking areas, covering the airport itself and extending east along Airport Way to the I205 bridge. * Custom terminal with accurate placement of jetways, gate numbers, ramp lighting and other features, including the Horizon Air terminal extension. * Custom versions of the old short-term and recently completed long-term parking structures. * Custom version of the very cool Horizon Air engine runup structure. * The I205 bridge has been moved to its correct location. If you are using Ultimate Terrain the bridge and roads will now line up. * Photo textures used wherever feasible. Peter Ham made the excruciatingly detailed AFCAD and placed the zillions of scenery objects. Sidney Schwartz made the stunningly attractive custom scenery objects. This project represents many hours of work on our part, and we hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed making it. This scenery was designed to work in conjunction with Ultimate Terrain. If you do not have Ultimate Terrain, some of the roads will probably be misplaced, but everything else should work OK.

Mary River CMR2 on Baffin Island in Nunavut Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a very early version of an airfield in Nunavut built to serve an iron ore mine some 100 miles south of Pond Inlet on Baffin Island. In 2004 the airstrip was just being built, with a very basic camp set up for the construction crew who then went on to develop the roads etc in the immediate area. The original plan was for an opencast mine, with ore being transported south on a new (and expensive) railroad link to a new port on the south shore of Baffin Island. This plan was later changed to a (much cheaper) road to Milne Inlet, north of Mary River. And there my story rests, as although production has now started I have no further information about the operating mine. Nolinor currently flies regular supply flights into the camp; the AI here is for the early days. The gravel runway is 4,800 feet long and 150 feet wide, aligned 124T-304T as all runway headings in the north are given as true rather than the unreliable magnetic, which would be 12-30. Runway lighting and PAPI was installed early on and is included here; signage is not and the apron is the early version.

Green Lake CBG2 in British Columbia Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Green Lake is on the eastern side of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, around 40 miles north of Cache Creek and 15 miles south of 100 Miles House (a previous posting). The airfield is beside the lake shore and serves the Flying U holiday ranch with a grass runway 2,575 feet long and aligned 18-36. There is no lighting. There is also mooring on the lake for boats and float planes. I have posted it as Green Lake CBG2, but I suggest that you just add it to your previously created "BC airfields", if you followed my previous suggestion. You then avoid the inevitable doubling up of common textures etc. Plus that way you will have just one FS9 library post to do and new airfields will not need yet another posting. Up to you. It just occurred to me that probably only a few of you have a copy of the Nav Canada Airfields handbook, so won't know the airfield altitudes, which is useful to have amid mountains. So, Pemberton is 670 feet Above Sea Level, Cache Creek 2,034 feet ASL, and Green Lake 3,550 feet ASL. The others to follow as posted. If you find a defect, email me.

Komakuk Beach & Storm Hills DEW sites in Yukon and Northwest Territories, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
These are DEW line sites in northern mainland Canada, to the west of Tuktoyaktuk.

Komakuk Beach CWKB is not included in FS9 and is in the Yukon, only 20 miles from the Alaska border. It is, as the name suggests, close to the sea, and the gravel runway 3,600' by 125' has its western end almost on the beach. There is no lighting and no signage and the airfield is officially listed as closed, but in fact is used during the annual maintenance and refuelling of the automated NWS (North Warning Station) close by and for any unscheduled servicing. This replaced the previous much older DEW station that was manned year round and had a lot more buildings.

Storm Hills CWSH is in the Northwest Territories, 43 miles south-southwest of Tuktoyaktuk, up on higher land at 810 feet ASL. The NWS (there was no previous DEW station at this site) is serviced by helicopter from Tuktoyaktuk and has a gravel landing pad on the north side of the station. It will show on a gps and it is 5 miles west of the distinctively shaped and large Parsons Lake. This too was not in FS9.

Frozen Canadian & USA Rivers & Lakes Revision Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This "freezes" all lakes and rivers for winter flying and means they can be landed on with skis or wheels; it is meant for low level flying rather than high level jet flights. This edition is complete in itself and now really covers all of Canada and parts of the USA along the border, including large parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana. It is reversible with an "untick" in the FS scenery library. The revision is the addition of frozen sea in the area of Baffin Island (where I and Sid & Pete have recently posted all of the Baffin Island airfields) as I missed this area last time. Sorry about that. I have spent some time making sure that the sea and the inlets along the coast in the south do not get frozen too, and also some of the lakes that are close to the coast and rarely get cold enough to freeze over. The Great Lakes do not usually totally freeze, but this is an either ON or OFF modification and partial freezing cannot be convincingly simulated, so I went for total ice. Along the north shore I went for the peak of the winter with sea ice all the way to the permanent polar cap; this is not totally realistic as there is usually a partially open lead along the coast, but as with the Great Lakes...... It will work without Ultimate Terrain, but as UT is what gets all the lakes and rivers there and in the right place (except in the far north) it is obviously much improved with UT. The pics show Rockcliffe in the winter with the frozen Ottawa River for real and in FS for comparison; without UT the river would not be in the right place.

DDA Classic Airlines PH-PBA 2019 Douglas C-47 (DC-3) 75 YEARS! Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:

For Manfred Jahn's C-47 with Jan Visser's VVC, version 3.14 repaint of DDA (Dutch Dakota Association) Classic Airlines. The only flying DC-3/C-47 in the Netherlands at the moment. Hopefully joined by her sister (PH-DDZ) in the near future.

The new 2018 livery of the DDA Dakota is going back to it's roots, as it royal colours in which it flew in the '50 and '60. Now updated with the "75 years" logo. The aircraft is 75 years old this year.

Besides the new logo, the following was updated: - The Red colour was made a bit brighter __ - Adjustments on several locations (Reallife paint was not 100% the drawings ;-) __ - Several (small) details added on the outside, incl new prop textures __ - Several gauge bitmaps modified (most noticable the Airspeed indicator) __ - Some bitmaps of the VC modified __

For more info on the real DDA visit there site: https://www.dutchdakota.nl/en/home/

Besides the outside, the inside and the pilot's got a different look. Also added some more details, especially at the tires and gear struts. The VC textures are repainted to get the cockpit as much in line with the real one.

Big thanks to Manfred Jahn and his team for creating this beautiful model and Jan Visser and his team for all the work done to improve this model even further. Ted "TuFun" Wolfgang for the improved engine textures. For this repaint the excellent paintkit by Gordon "Gman5250" Madison was used. Works both in FSX and Prepar3D. Special thanks to Paul van den Berg from DDA Classic Airlines for providing the original paint drawings and beta testing the livery. ---> Works both in FSX and Prepar3D

UV-4 V/STOL UAV (Experimental) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Created as a means to display the potential of a ducted fan rotorcraft powered by multiple electric motors. The system made its launch in 2015, since then advances and improvements have been completed to the airframe and power plant configurations. Delivering an efficient means of lift using smaller and therefore quieter propeller then traditional helicopters. The function of the ducted system serves as a mean of channeling pressure and vectoring thrust. Giving the UV-4 a unique control system and improved maneuverability. The design of a low speed "T-Tail" houses the function of yaw control with multiple rudders located on its vertical stabilizer, and elevators on its horizontal stabilizer. In addition the rear ducted systems may pivot up to less then sixty degrees forward and backwards to deliver the vector thrust where the aircraft needs it to be. The cargo bay may house up to four thousand pounds of deliverable payload. As its max gross take-off weight is designed to reach twelve thousand five hundred pounds. The electrical systems on the aircraft use a network of batteries, generators, and its two electrical motors. Proving five hundred horse power each, totaling an amount of one thousand horse power. An electrical charge then powers the mechanization used to spin the propeller to its desired rate per minute. Perhaps in the near future an additional system can be created to then generate electrical charges created by the spinning propeller of inside the duct back into the aircraft to then power systems or recharge the battery. We forward to providing this aircraft on Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Lockheed-Martin Prepar3d, and X-Plane 10 for download by the end of 2016. Aircraft by Rob Gomez & Kris Pyatt
