| Tupolev Tu-95 Bear (Part 1) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Tupolev Tu-95 Bear (Part 1). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this cold warrior of military history, which still soldiers on as a formidable strategic bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. The mighty Bear, with around 500 built, evolved from the Tu-114 airliner, and is arguably the fastest (and loudest) turboprop aircraft in history. A simple no-frills turboprop design combined with a heavy payload and ridiculous airborne endurance (20+ hours); and the Bear has established itself as the iconic Soviet/Russian symbol of strategic force projection, easily the counterpart to the American B-52 Stratofortress. An original 9-LOD model brings this historic beast to the flightsim world. This package contains the early "M" series Bears, to include Tu-95M, Tu-95MR, Tu-95RTs, Tu-95U, Tu-95V, and TU-116; with a total of 6 models and 33 repaints. Original aircraft model and textures by Michael Pearson, flight dynamics by Michael MacIntyre. Please read included documentation.

| Guatemala & Honduras SRTM Mesh Part 1 |
|
File Description:
This terrain mesh scenery was made to fit Jozef Kusters' Nicaragua mesh on its south-eastern edges. It covers Guatemala, western & northern Honduras (including Isl de la Bahia - Roatan), Belize and Salvador. Based on SRTM Data (3 arc/sec), generated with Matthew Styles's program "SRTM To BGL v1.04", sampled to LOD9 resolution (76m) with 5 interpolation passes. While tested under Fs2004, this mesh should also run in FS2002.
This part contains Guatemala-S.BGL. See guatemala_honduras_mesh_pt1.jpg for .BGL files coverage.

| Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (Part 1) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (Part 1). The B-52 first flew in 1952, the last one was built in 1963, and there are still over 90 of the original 744 airframes either in service or in a ready-reserve status. With extensive avionics upgrades starting this year, the USAF plans on using the B-52s until 2045. The aircraft has an impressive resume, having served in five shooting wars and was the backbone of Strategic Air Command's nuclear deterrent air component during almost forty years of Cold War service.
Jake Burrus started this AI traffic model a couple of years ago, and I was honoured to pick up the project and get it across the finish line, with no small amount of help from Mike MacIntyre, as usual. This is a 7-LOD AI traffic model representing the Stratofortress in all of its operational service. This is part 1, covering all operational models which only did nuclear deterrence, not actual combat use. This file includes the B-52B, B-52C, B-52E, and RB-52B models, with a total of 68 repaints across all variants. Also included are optional models for VFR traffic use. Aircraft model by Jake Burrus and Mike Pearson, master textures and repaints by Mike Pearson, flight dynamics by Mike MacIntyre. Please read the extensive documentation contained in the file.

| Turkey Mesh, Part 1 of 5 |
|
File Description:
Created from 3 arc second data and re-sampled @LOD9 (best fit for this data). The created area extends from N35E025 (lower left corner) to N44E047 (upper right corner). You need all the five bgl-files plus the two correction files to cover the whole area. Otherwise you will have only a coverage of the corresponding file. Matthew Style's SRTM_3ARCSEC_TO_BGL program was used to interpolate the srtm data and automate the bgl file creation (Many Thanks to Matthew for his great utility).

| Republic F-105 Thunderchief (Part 1) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Republic F-105 Thunderchief. This is another Jake Burrus aircraft I have been able to bring to the flightsim world. Originally introduced in 1958 as a low-level nuclear weapons delivery aircraft in the middle of the Cold War, this aircraft became the backbone of conventional bombing during most of the Vietnam War. As a testament to the aircraft's role, the bravery of its pilots, and the ferocity of the North Vietnamese air defense network, nearly half of the 833 airframes were lost in combat operations. Due to the extensive combat use of the Thud, it had a relatively short service life, with limited use after Vietnam, until the aircraft's final retirement in 1984.
This is part 1 of 2 parts, and represents the use of the F-105B/D/F from 1958-1966; to include 16 model variants and 131 repaints; but includes all of the F-105B units including those used post-Vietnam by ANG and AFRES units. Aircraft model by Jake Burrus and Mike Pearson, master textures and repaints by Mike Pearson, flight dynamics by Mike MacIntyre. Please read the documentation contained in the file.

| Super VC10 Panel Upgrade Part 1 |
|
File Description:
This panel upgrade for David Maltby's Super VC10 incorporates significant major changes. First the Super VC10 has now become a stand alone aircraft within the "DMFS Shared Files" file structure. This allows for many changes that distinguish the Super VC10 from the Standard. Some already present and some ongoing. The main panel is now in widescreen format i.e. "not stretched!" Many hundreds of other changes have also been made some unseen that make significant differences to the performance of the model. For example the Super has a fin tank now modelled along with correct fuel transfer and jettison procedures. The engines have been totally overhauled with new thrust curves so that their performance is as accurate as possible across the power spectrum. A consequence of this is that throttle control is now much more precise. Internal engine sounds have been completely revised and are as close as possible to the sound one would hear from the cockpit. There are in addition numerous new panels that are fully functional such the Oxygen panel. This means that cabin altitude and depressurisation are all potential factors and must be attended to. Though you do have an oxygen mask (so don it if necessary or face the consequences!). There is a tiller for ground manoeuvring. There are just too many changes and additions to list here but they are listed in the documentation. Another important addition is refuelling. Refuelling can only be done from an underwing point. To assist is a dedicated new fuel uplift spreadsheet which incorporates a facsimile of a real Super VC10 load sheet allowing you to change passenger loads etc. Everything is explained in the "Technical and Operational Procedures Manual" pdf file as well as the "VC10 FLYING MANUAL" pdf file which contains all the full checklists not cut down for sim use. With ongoing work the intention is that this will become a "study" simulation.
If you do not already have David Maltby's Super VC10 model then download it from here. http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/vickers_vc10.htm
Follow his instructions and make sure everything is working as expected before downloading these updates.
