Hawaiian Air 1998 AI Package Download

File Description:
Hawaiian Air was a shell of itself in the Transpacific market in 1998 compared to today, while it was fiercely competing with Aloha Airlines in the intra-Hawaii market. DC-10-10s preformed all Long Haul flights as well as those to the USA, while a fleet of DC-9-50s competed with Aloha between the islands. At the time, all flights from OGG to the mainland actually originated in Honolulu and made a stop in Maui in each direction on which no tickets were sold between HNL\OGG. LAX was used as a stop over point as well for flights between HNL\OGG and LAS. All mainland flights from HNL were daily while flights to other destinations in the Pacific and between the mainland and OGG were operated only a few days per week. HNL-LAX was the busiest route for the DC-10, with 3 daily flights. The MD-80s, other DC-9 variants, and the DHC-7s were gone by 1998, but the DC-9-50s still served the smaller airports of LNY and MKK(even with some very short flights between the two) at the time which were soon after abandoned until Ohana by Hawaiian was launched in recent years with ATR-42s. AIG DC-9-50 repaint by Christian Gold and Antoine Calleja of APG included. AIM DC-10-10 by Jason King on Avsim as "aim_dc1010_hawaiian_n160aa.zip". Flightplans by Chasen Richardson as part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. Follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/flightsim98 and on instagram as @bayviationsim. McDonnell Douglas F-4J(UK) Phantom F.3 (AI Phantoms Phorever Part 5) Download

File Description:
McDonnell Douglas F-4J(UK) Phantom F.3 (AI Phantoms Phorever Part 5). This is one of the most iconic military aircraft of all time, ushering in the modern age of air combat; from Asia to the Middle East; and many of the 5,195 manufactured airframes are still in active use today, after over five decades of excellent service. This model set utilized FSDS source files for Nick Black's original F-4E Phantom II 8-LOD AI model, and has been heavily modified for this project. Numerous changes are listed in the extensive documentation with this file. This file contains one F-4J(UK) base model, but is split into two time periods, representing use of both Sparrow and Sky Flash missiles. There are two full squadron paints for 74 Squadron, including eight loadouts and 15 serials per squadron; representing these aircraft in service from 1984-1990. I am not including the usual paint kit because these aircraft were only used by one RAF squadron, and I have included all serials. This project is the next part of what will hopefully be a comprehensive and fairly complete (AI traffic) history of this aircraft. I learned a lot from previous releases, and these models are vastly improved from the original releases I have done recently (v2 models for those will be forthcoming). I did not do this alone by any means, and all contributors that I can think of are listed in the documentation. This is the complete aircraft, with all main FS textures and effects included. Original FSDS source and paint kit by Nick Black; FDE by Mike MacIntyre, all model/paint kit modifications and repaints by Michael Pearson.

Textures for Lockheed R7V-1/C-121J by Team 1049 - Roland Berger, Volker Boehme, Manfred Jahn, Luis Pallas, Bill Tyne and Stefan Werner. Repainted by Manfred Meyer.
A working installation of the G and H Super Constellation packs (L1049H.ZIP, L1049GZIP and r7v-1.ZIP)is required, use the 1049vc_rf model for this textures!
This aircraft was built 1953 as a R7V-1 BuNo 131643 for US Navy (c/n 4144) and 1960 redesignated as C-121J. Serving whis the Point Mugu Missile Range it was known as the "Ole Blue from Point Mugu". 1974 withdrawn from use and stored at Davis Monthan, she was sold in May 1981 to William "Winky" Crawfords Northern Peninsula Fisheries Corp. and reg. N4247K for hauling salmon in Alaska. After modification work to civil freighter in 1987 the Connie went to World Fish & Agriculture Inc. Cold Bay Alaska, another Crawford Company. Now it was the plan to hauling thunafish from Palau Island to Nagoya in Japan. It was intend to carry 38 000 lbs of fish per trip but only 33 000 lbs were practial. But the contract could not be fullfiled because no high grade AVGAS was available at Nagoya. The aircraft has to carry return fuel in drums, which reduced the payload further to only 15 000 lbs. Only a few roundtrips were flown in 1988 and then the Connie was impounted and stored at Manila apt. due to lawsuit actions with the contractors. She remains abandonded in open storage at Manila until 2014 as the Quantas Museum from Australia bought her in auction for spares.

North American P-51D 353rd FG (YJ-L) "Willit Run?" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang, in the colors of P-51D-10-NA 44-14771 YJ-L "Willit Run?" which flew with the 351st FS, 353rd FG from Raydon in the UK, with Maj Frederick LeFebre as its regular pilot. The P-51 is named “Willit Run?”, but the nose art on this plane is not talking about this particular aircraft or any P-51 for that matter. It’s an inside joke of WWII vintage. During WWII, as in every big war, private industry is called upon to produce war goods rather than civilian goods – “guns vs. butter”. Henry Ford took on a huge project to contract-build Consolidated B-24 Liberator bombers in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to be built on a farm which Henry Ford owned at Willow Run near Detroit. The facility was to be a prime example of Roosevelt’s “Arsenal of Democracy”, conceived and built on an unprecedented scale. Begun in April, 1941, it was the largest enclosed room in the world, with 3.5 million square feet. But Willow Run had a long and troubled construction and start-up time. So long and troubled a start-up, that after two years with little results the public became disillusioned with the project and derisively nicknamed the plant “Willit Run?”. Ford persevered however, and Willow Run finally hit its stride, eventually producing at the prodigious rate of 650 B-24 bombers per month by August, 1944. At war’s end, Willow Run had produced about half of the 18,000 B-24's which saw service in the war. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

Kuujjuarapik CYGW in northern Quebec, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Kuujjuarapik is in northern Quebec at the southern end of Hudson Bay, 90 miles east of James Bay and on the north shore of the Great Whale River; Kuujjuarapik means Small Great River in Inuktitut. Once again the Hudson Bay trading post that opened (in 1820) was the catalyst for the establishment of first a seasonal encampment and then the beginnings of a town in the late 1930's.
The two adjacent villages that now form the town have a total population (mainly Cree and Inuit) of around 1,500. When the Quebec hydo-electric project was under construction in the early 1980's a large portion of the Inuit population voted to move to a new settlement called Umiujaq (my post) 100 miles to the north.

The airport is to the west of the town, between the town and the sea. The gravel and sand runway (which I have made as gravel as there is no convincing way to mix the two) is 5,500 feet long, 150 feet wide, and aligned 17/35, which is approximately parallel to the coast. There is fuel available, both 100LL and JetA, delivered by truck. The AI included here is for Air Inuit and Wasaya, with Air Inuit making three flights per day plus a fourth flight by the Air Inuit Twotter C-GNDO that is based at the airport, and private flights by various aircraft. Yes, there really is a golf course to the south of the airport, and the last thing to note is that Kuujjuarapik has a mandatory radio frequency and that taking into consideration the scheduled flights I have included the tower radio frequency that makes this a controlled airport in FS9.

WASF Fak-Fak Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Googly scenery for WASF Fak-Fak, in Irian Jaya (Western New Gunea), Indonesia - a small domestic airport that Microsoft managed to omit from Flight Simulator 2004. These scenery files add the runway, apron, taxiways, buildings and other airport features so that you and your "AI" traffic can land, taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner. Little information is available on the services operated - flight plans are available for Lion Airlines showing two flights per week operated on their behalf by Wings Abadi Dash 8 aircraft. But it is known that Merpati Nusentara also serve the airport with Twin Otters. If you are using the Lion Airlines flight plans for Winter 2006, you must change the airport's co-ordinates as detailed in the readme.txt file because the co-ordinates given there will cause the aircraft to aim for a point on the wrong side of the equator in the middle of the sea! There is no lighting at this airport, and few navigational aids. However, I have added a missing NDB nearby (FA, 380.0). The scenery does not purport to be ultra-accurate. The quality of the satellite imagery at Google Earth is poor, but a number of photographs and other information has enabled this airport to be depicted reasonably accurately. However the added airport features, such as buildings, are built from default Microsoft objects and add-on libraries so will not look exactly like the real thing. You are not obliged to download and install any additional scenery libraries, but to enjoy this scenery in its entirety, you may wish to. It will work fine, with or without. An editvoicepack file has been included for the airport to help you embarrass yourself in front of others when flying. [File re-uploaded at request of AVSIM]

Abruzzo & Molise, Italy, Photoreal Scenery (26 june 2007). Freeware scenery for FS2004. All files of my scenery ABRUZZO & MOLISE: Abruzzo & Molise 1 - Campobasso.zip Abruzzo & Molise 2 - Pescara.zip Abruzzo & Molise 3 - Gran Sasso.zip Abruzzo & Molise 4 - L'Aquila.zip Author: Angelo Lanzillotta e-mail: [email protected] This photoreal scenery is based on aerial photos grabbed at the resolution of 5 meters per pixel (the same used in FS2004- works in FS 2002 too). I worked hard on these photos to obtain a final product with the real colours and the real positions for all parts of the landscape: if you have any comments or suggests, feel free to email me. Every single part of this scenery can be used also as a standalone product, so it's not necessary to download all 4 parts of my big scenery. However i strongly suggest to use all parts in order to obtain a complete photoreal look of this beautiful italian landscape, with famous mountains like Gran Sasso and Maiella. INSTALLATION: 1) extract the files in a directory of your choice using the option: Use folder names. 2) Open FS and add the scenery to the scenery library (order isn't important). For best results, use this scenery in association with Pietro Mauri Italymesh2004. DISCLAIMER This scenery is released as freeware, so nobody can make money with it. You cannot include this scenery in any software collection or web site without written permission of author. You can add objects and autogen (i had no time to work on them). This software can be used only as FSX/FS2004/FS2002 scenery: no other use is allowed. I accept absolutely no responsibility for your use of this software. Explorer 1 Add-on for Orbiter Download

File Description:
Explorer 1 was the first satellite launched by the United States when it was sent into space on January 31, 1958. Following the launch of the Soviet Union's Sputnik 1 on October 4, 1957, the U.S. Army Ballistic Missile Agency was directed to launch a satellite using its Jupiter C rocket developed under the direction of Dr. Wernher von Braun. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory received the assignment to design, build and operate the artificial satellite that would serve as the rocket's payload. JPL completed this job in less than three months. The primary science instrument on Explorer 1 was a cosmic ray detector designed to measure the radiation environment in Earth orbit. Once in space this experiment, provided by Dr. James Van Allen of the State University of Iowa, revealed a much lower cosmic ray count than expected. Van Allen theorized that the instrument may have been saturated by very strong radiation from a belt of charged particles trapped in space by Earth's magnetic field. The existence of these radiation belts was confirmed by another U.S. satellite launched two months later, and they became known as the Van Allen Belts in honor of their discoverer. Explorer 1 revolved around Earth in a looping orbit that took it as close as 354 kilometers (220 miles) to Earth and as far as 2,515 kilometers (1,563 miles). It made one orbit every 114.8 minutes, or a total of 12.54 orbits per day. The satellite itself was 203 centimeters (80 inches) long and 15.9 centimeters (6.25 inches) in diameter. Explorer 1 made its final transmission on May 23, 1958. It entered Earth's atmosphere and burned up on March 31, 1970, after more than 58,000 orbits. The satellite weighed 14 kilograms (30.8 pounds).
