| Omni Air International OAI 1998 AI Flightplans |
|
File Description:
Omni Air International started flying in 1997 with a pair of DC-10-30s while a 3rd was added in late 1998. The airline was operationally based in MSP, with LAS as a "focus city" where Omni maintains a strong presence to this day. OAI did all sorts of flying, from tour group/holiday package flights to LAS and HNL, to military charters(which often used HNL/DFW/PSM/FRA), to large group charters such as for college sports teams. There were also many re-positioning flights to get the aircraft to/from the next/last charter. I used to see them frequently at SFO, and obviously MSP. These representative plans are based on a combination of photos, what I remember seeing myself at the time, and information from a friend who was an Omni flight attendant at the time as to specific routes and happenings at the company in the late 1990s. AIM DC-10-30 texture by Jason King is on Avism as "aim_dc1030_omni_air_international.zip". Flightplans by Chasen Richardson. Part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. | E T Joshua TVSV on Saint Vincent in the eastern Caribbean |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Saint Vincent island is the northernmost of the group of islands known as St Vincent and the Grenadines, just south of St Lucia. St Vincent is around 17 miles long and 10 miles wide and by far the largest in the group, and the islands have a total population of around 120,000. E T Joshua is at the southern end of the island, adjacent to the capital Kingstown. There is a new airport under construction a few miles to the east which will have a longer runway and a larger apron, and when it is ready E T Joshua will probably be closed and redeveloped.
The terminal and the other smaller buildings are all made with photographic textures; the terminal is now quite old and has seen better days. The airport is a hub for small local airlines and also has regular LIAT flights connecting to other islands. The runway is just a shade under 4,700 feet of asphalt, so there are no direct flights from Europe. The new airport to the east is depicted as under construction; obviously I have not flown there and I have not tried to depict the terminal building which is also under construction but a mystery to me.

| Air Atlantique, Douglas DC-3 |

File Description:
The Air Atlantique Group started as an air taxi operation in 1969 under the name of General Aviation Services, based in Jersey, Channel Islands. The Air Atlantique name was adopted in June 1977 when the company launched into freight charter work with a fleet of Douglas DC-3s, with most activity being transferred to the UK mainland in the early 1980s. The Group moved to its present base in Coventry in December 1985. In 1987 they were awarded an oil pollution control and spraying contract for the Department of Trade. This contract had previously been operated by Harvest Air which had gone into liquidation. Air Atlantique also acquired the two DC-3's that had been operated in the role by Harvest Air. Today, Air Atlantique still operates two DC-3 aircraft as part of the Air Atlantique Classic Flight. The Air Atlantique Classic Flight has just re-branded itself to ClassicFlight.com, but still retains the Air Atlantique heritage by using the Air Atlantique name in its logo. The DC3's in Harvest Air livery will be available as a separate download package 'harvest_dc3s.zip' .Repaints by John Payne. Original DC-3 base textures courtesy of Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont. Requires the default Douglas DC-3.

| RAF Bodney - Norfolk, England |
|
File Description:
Originally built as an RAF Bomber Command station the airfield was grass-surfaced and located on slightly rolling land with a hard surface perimeter track.
Initially it was used by aircraft of No. 21 Squadron RAF and No. 82 Squadron RAF (No. 2 Group) Bomber Command. They carried operations over France and later the Netherlands and even Norway. Their Bristol Blenheim IVs were joined on occasions by, in May 1941, 90 Squadron evaluating its new Boeing Fortress Mk 1s some Handley Page Hampdens for mining operations. 90 Squadron suffered heavy casualties and the use of the Fortress I was discontinued. Towards October 1942, the Blenheims were changed to Lockheed Venturas but the squadron moved on to RAF Methwold before the Venturas were operational.
RAF Bodney was transferred to the United States Army Air Forces in the summer of 1943. Placed under the jurisdiction of VIII Fighter Command of Eighth Air Force, it was primarily the home of the 352d Fighter Group, the "Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney". The unit briefly moved to Belgium in January 1945 due to the Battle of the Bulge, although it returned in April. It was closed after the 352d returned to the United States in November. File Description:
TEXTURES ONLY - You will need the Dash 8-300 ver1.004 by 'fanda' for these files to work.
US Airways Group, Inc. is the parent corporation for US Airways mainline jet and express divisions as well as several related companies, all in the air transportation industry. From the company's beginnings in 1939 as All-American Aviation, Inc., the present-day US Airways is the inheritor of a number of famous names in U.S. aviation (see Company History). US Airways has been an aviation innovator, particularly in the building of alliances through code-sharing.
US Airways Express the brand name for US Airways regional aircraft operations, is made up of nine regional air carriers that fly to smaller communities throughout the US Airways system. Three of those carriers carry the names of former airlines that now are part of the US Airways mainline system and are wholly owned subsidiaries of US Airways Group Inc. With more than 2,200 daily flights, US Airways Express is in itself one of the world's largest airline systems. The three wholly owned express subsidiaries are:
Allegheny Airlines, Inc. with headquarters in Middletown, Pa.
Piedmont Airlines, Inc. with headquarters in Salisbury, Md.
PSA Airlines, Inc. with headquarters in Dayton, Ohio.

| Lucky Partners Boeing B-17G |
|
File Description:
This is a repaint (textures only) for the Donationware B-17G Late from FighterTown Design Group. You can get it here for a great price!! www.donationware.net
Thank you FDG for providing this great plane!!
Special thanks go to Jarink, who is a repainter in IL-2/PF. Jarink was kind enough to send me his layered photoshop files of the Noseart that I used for these repaints. I also used his repaints as a guide for my repaints.
This texture represents "Lucky Partners" from the 710th Bomb Squadron, 447th Bomb Group. Lucky Partners had been known to have been a part of the 447th, based on a few photographs taken at Rattlesden during the spring of 1945. Yet the actual identify of the aircraft remained in question. The nose panel now preserved in Kingman had been cut below the location of the factory-painted serial number, and the existing photos showed that the name "Lucky Partners" had been painted over the last three (and most significant) digits of that serial number.
It was originally named Little Herbie by the Hoffman crew, but did not bear any name or nose art until much later, when its name changed to Lucky Partners.

| A Normal Day Over Nepal...or " Hope the God Buzzard don´t get you" !!!!!! |
|
File Description:
Captain Jackson Kungfu-Larz has been flying the Lukla route for around
21 years. Flying tourists and mountain climbers to this little mountain town is just
one of those things. Today he and his co-pilot, you, will abbandon the regular route
and take a "supply" plane from Lukla to Tumlingtar where you´ll will pick up
spare parts for a Polish Motorcicle group out in a mountain road, then you fly to Gutaba where
you will transfer to a Helicopter to carry these, food and purified
water to some arqueologists out in some old Temples and other stuffs for a group of tourists
out in a very old Buddist Monastery spending the weekend. You will return after delivery of all this
to Gutaba and fly two Engineers to Ku-Kle where the trip ends, either in the tarmac or against the mountain
....So get to speed with the old Twin Otter or similiar aircraft and be prepared to pray several times to
the Lord Budda for this "trip" is a "rock breaker". (Shalam sum quan Pin, lip sum turog) Translation:
When the buzzard squaks so loud is because his feathers feel the moon......PD. Nepalese old saying
which no one knows what it means.
