California Pacific was the pet-project of eccentric millionaire Ted Vallas who was determined to overcome a near-decade of obstacles to bring scheduled jet service to the Northern San Deigo\Carlsbad area. The airline was founded in 2009, but ran into a laundry list of problems over the years. Initially, the airline had acquired an EMB-170 which was painted in the airlines own colors and kept at the airlines Carlsbad base(CLD\KCRQ). The initial plan called for 3-class service to destinations including SJC, OAK, PHX, SMF, and even SJD. However, a US government shut down ill-timed during the scheduled proving runs and certification process for the airline delayed the process indefinitely. After months of waiting, and paying for staff and the aircraft to the dismay of investors, the E170 was returned and used as a cooperate shuttle in Arizona in full California Pacific colors, though it never would return. The founder did not give up, however, and years later was able to circumvent the certification process by purchasing the operating certificate of ADI's Essential Air Service operation which connected Watertown and Pierre, South Dakota with Denver with a pair of EMB-145s. One of the EMB-145s was painted in full California Pacific colors and used to launch scheduled flights, this time initially to SJC, RNO and LAS with AZA instead of PHX later being added. However, the other EMB-145 was damaged after being struck by ground equipment in Pierre, SD and was grounded for the rest of the airline's life, causing all EAS flights to cancel soon after California Pacific had acquired the flying. The airline was stretched so thin when service started in November 2018 that the departure of a pilot in January 2019 shut the airline down, after just 2 months in operation. Flights were for months considered "suspended", with airport signage being retained at the destinations, but soon after the website was taken down and all hopes of re-starting the company seemed abandoned. These flights are based on an early 2019 schedule I found online, but the EAS flights were not listed. As the flights did not operate anyway for the most part as California Pacific, I elected not to include them. The schedule was changed several times in the airline's short history as it struggled to maintain an aggressive 30 minute ground-time between flights with just 1 aircraft. Epic repair mission which brought Skylab into working order. Included
such great moments as Conrad being flung through space by the whiplash
after heaving on the solar wing just as the debris constraining it
gave way; deployment of a lightweight solar shield, developed in
Houston in one week, which brought the temperatures down to tolerable
levels. With this flight US again took manned spaceflight duration
record.
When the meteoroid shield ripped loose, it disturbed the mounting of
workshop solar array "wing" two and caused it to partially deploy.
The exhaust plume of the second stage retro-rockets impacted the
partially deployed solar array and literally blew it into space.
Also, a strap of debris from the meteoroid shield overlapped solar
array "wing" number one such that when the programmed deployment
signal occurred, wing number one was held in a slightly opened
position where it was able to generate virtually no power.
In the meantime, the space station had achieved a near-circular orbit
at the desired altitude of 435 kilometers (270 miles). All other
major functions including payload shroud jettison, deployment of the
Apollo Telescope Mount (Skylab's solar observatory) and its solar
arrays, and pressurization of the space station occurred as planned.
Scientists, engineers, astronauts, and management personnel at the
NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and elsewhere worked throughout
the first ten-day period of Skylab's flight to devise the means for
its rescue. Simultaneously, Skylab--seriously overheating--was
maneuvered through varying nose-up attitudes that would best maintain
an acceptable "holding" condition. Because of the loss of the
meteoroid shield, however, this positioning caused workshop
temperatures to rise to 52 degrees Celsius (126 degrees F). During
that ten-day period and for some time thereafter, the space station
operated on less than half of its designed electrical system, in the
partially nose-up attitudes, was generating power at reduced
efficiency. The optimum condition that maintained the most favorable
balance between Skylab temperatures and its power generation
capability occurred at approximately 50 degrees nose-up.
The crew rendezvoused with Skylab on the fifth orbit. After making
substantial repairs, including deployment of a parasol sunshade which
cooled the inside temperatures to 23.8 degrees C (75 degrees F), by
June 4 the workshop was in full operation. In orbit the crew conducted
solar astronomy and Earth resources experiments, medical studies, and
five student experiments; 404 orbits and 392 experiment hours were
completed; three EVAs totalled six hours, 20 minutes.

minutes.

of the crew ever flying again.

File Description:
Repaint of the A2A WWII P-51D Mustang as F-51D-30-NT 45-11582 using John Terrell's excellent paint kit. This aircraft was one of the last batches of P-51D's delivered to the USAAF before the close of WWII. After an uneventful post-war career its final allocation was to the 167th Fighter Bomber Squadron West Virginia ANG at Kanawaha County, West Virginia in 1953. It was withdrawn fron ANG service in December 1956 and transferred to the California Air Material Area in Sacramento. It was sold to Ed Maloney November 1957 and registered N5441V. It was one of the founding aircraft of the 'Planes of Fame' museum in Chino CA and has been in near constant use since then. It has been adorned with a variety of liveries during this time and currently flies as a 334th FS 4th FG Mustang flown by Major James 'Goody' Goodson in 1944. It has for many years been affectionately known as 'Spam Can'
This repaint is based on a photograph of the aircraft in near-derelict condition carrying 2 small practice bombs, probably taken at Sacremento in 1957 before disposal. It therefore represents Spam Can in her final days in active USAF service.

| Frozen rivers and lakes (and sea) for Alaska's winter |

File Description:
This "freezes" all lakes and rivers (and some sea) for winter flying and means they can be landed on with skis or wheels; it is meant for low level flying rather than high level jet flights. This edition covers all of Alaska, except for the Aleutian Islands, as the worst area to do this for is a string of islands. Terrible. Fiddly. It is reversible with an "untick" in the FS scenery library. I have spent some time making sure that the sea and the larger inlets along the southern coast do not get frozen too as they stay ice-free in winter. Along the north shore I went for the peak of the winter with sea ice all the way to the permanent polar cap; this is not totally realistic as there is usually a partially open lead along the coast, but anything else would be ...... fiddly. This is really for use with Ultimate Terrain, though it will work without it. But as UT is what gets all the lakes and rivers there and in the right place it would be a shame not to be using UT. There is a blurry transition between southern Alaska and Canada so you may need the recent Canada post too.

GaugeGlow is an easy to use tool that allows you to quickly set or adjust an aircraft's 2D panel lighting and the luminous glow of your MS Flight Simulator aircraft's lumious instruments. The virtual cockpit (VC) lighting is controlled by gauge designer and aircraft modeller, and cannot be modified by GaugeGlow.
GaugeGlow gives you a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) view of a sample aircraft panel & instrument with easy to use but sophisticated tools to discover the RGB lighting values to create the right lighting effect for your panel. Before GaugeGlow, a panel designer would have to "estimate" desired RGB values for lighting settings, modify configuration files, and then run Flight Simulator to see if they got it right. With GaugeGlow, you can select colors easily with slider controls, and imediately see the effects on panel and gauge lighting just as it will appear in FS under any lighting conditions.
The licensed registered user will be able to easily open any aircraft's panel, to load existing settings, make changes, then save them. Unregistered you'll have to take the data you see and using your knowledge of the SDK, edit the aircraft's config files to make the actual change in that aircraft's night lighting.

File Description:
The airfield Ballenstedt is located in the eastern foothills of the €œHarz (North German low mountain range) and with twenty thousand aircraft movements per year a relatively highly frequented airport.
The scenery is designed very much in detail. All important objects have been created by me using photos of the original field. Also some clearly visible landmarks are integrated like the large photovoltaic arrangement north of the asphalt runway and the quite large pig farm “Asmusstedt†situated east of the field. An additional important point of reference for glider pilots is the so-called "Gegenstein", a narrow rock on top of the small hill south of the Gliderfield. A retouched photo background, covering all four seasons, completes the scenery.
However, many smaller Objects, like people, cars or static airplanes in this scenery were
taken from three popular freeware libraries for whose use I got the friendly permission of the
authors. If these libraries are not installed , many objects are not visible!

Not long ago I embarked on a project to streamline my flight simulator's AI setup. I knew I had too many aircraft texture sets that I was not using, too many unnecessary night texture files, installation of defunct airlines, and the like. So, I put together a spreadsheet showing my AI system with all the airlines and additional pieces such as vehicles and ships. This has been a very large and time-consuming project as my AI system has more than 7,000 texture sets, more than 2,200 airline folders, and other assorted AI components. Inside you'll find an Excel spreadsheet with all my airlines (more than 2,200) listed, Birds, Blimp, Corporate Aircraft, Defunct Airlines, Douglas DC-3, Float Planes, Government Aircraft, Helicopters, Medical Aircraft, Military Aircraft, Personal Registration Aircraft, Ships, and Vehicles - all associated with the FS AI system. In addition, I've included the spreadsheet's source text files for those that do not have Microsoft Excel. NOTE: You can download an MS Excel spreadsheet viewer (freeware) from the Microsoft site. Because of copyright restrictions and the size of my AI system, I have not provided links to specific files. However, I think you'll find the data very useful. OK, all you Rotorheads - This is a fictional version of a very remote Helicopter landing pad on the Olympic Penn.. You must fly a Helo. I created it for my personal enjoyment and now I am releasing to the public as freeware. I hope you enjoy the "eye-candy". There are multiple radio and fire spotting towers in the area to check out. -
At least it gives you something to travel there for. -
This is an extremely challenging spot to land, especially using real Wx. The landing pad is basically a postage stamp. I created it and have a tough time landing here myself, so have fun with this one. -
You may also go directly to this airport by selecting TOWR as your starting airport. I also added a series of images so you can figure out how to get there from somewhere else. If you have my Wynoochie Lake scenery, its only 6 miles from there. (Just a heads-up) -

This scenery is frame rate friendly.

File Description:
The Mo i Rana airport, Rossvoll is a North Norwegian airport in the county of Nordland. It is located about ten kilometers northeast of the city Mo i Rana. Operator of the airport is the Norwegian state-owned company Avinor.
The Mo i Rana Airport is currently served only by the Norwegian regional airline Wideroe. Scheduled flights go to an from Bodo, Bronnoysund, Mosjoen, Rorvik, Sandnessjoen and Trondheim.
The FSX scenery:
The environment of the airport is adapted by new landclasses.
The airport has a photo background in two variants, covering all four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter.
The buildings in this scenery come from the fantastic XPlane scenery of Bert alias"almosquito" who kindly gave me the permission to convert them for my FSX scenery.
But there are also some objects taken from two very popular freeware libraries.
If these libraries are not installed, several objects are not visible!
