Nepal 1 Flight Plan

File Description:
It has been a few years since my last visit to Nepal/Himalaya, amazing place - amazing airfields. Hoping to give you a small taste of the real adventure of flying there I created This FP which contains the following six short routes east of Kathmandu: Kathmandu - Lukla - Rumjatar - Lamidada - Bhojpur - Tumlingtar - Kathmandu.The runways (except Kathmandu) are all grass/dust, although i think that Lukla gots an asphalt one by now.I have used A Beechcraft King Air 350 plane, weather clear, 12.00' local time, visibility 48Km/30 mi. If you want to try it hard (i am sure you do so after a while) change the weather conditions to storm/heavy storm. Included -in friendly printable version- six images as well (one for each flight) which contains a map view and a Navigation log as layedout at fs, so that you can have the hands on the stik all time and enjoy the flights without a stop.

Douglas DC-3 Four Fuel Tank Conversion Kit

File Description:
The default FS2004 DC-3 is configured for three fuel tanks, whereas by design the C-47/DC-3 had four from which to draw. Many airlines using the DC-3 commercially blanked off, removed or never installed one tank in order to maximise payload; they were usually operating shorter routes than were typical of the C-47 in military service, This conversion kit gives the option of restoring the aircraft to four-tank configuration, giving greater range for long duration flights. Offering realistic fuel management, this option can replace your default configuration or, alternatively, add four-tank aircraft to your DC-3 collection. Note that this file will only be of use to those pilots who like to set up fuel and payload properly before a flight; pilots using default FS settings of maximum fuel and full payload will find that the aircraft is over maximum takeoff weight in this configuration.

Pi1ggio P-166S Albatross

File Description:
Thanks to Andrew Spring of www.p166.com!! The third of the coming P-166 aircraft series. I'm going to built the whole family of these graceful twins. The Piaggio P-166A is a light small twin. An Exotic two-engined prop that sold all over the world including America, UK, and Australia. The S version is used by South Africvan Air forces. Comes with a longer nose and larger tip tanks for greater range, as it's a maritime patrol vresion. Its origin is traced Back to the Piaggio P-136, a light anphibian, wich the P-166 keeps the wings, the engines and the tailplanes. The first P-166A flew in November 1957. The aircraft is still in production in a slightly modified turboprop version, the P-166D-P1. This model is 788 Kbs with c.a. 23000 polygons in c.a.170 assemblies. Features Clickable Dynamic VC with non-planar throttle quadrant. Detailed internals. Fully compatible with FS 2002 (pro edition)

Modern Smoke Jumpers - Parafoils

File Description:
Thought there might be some purists out there frowning at the previous round canopy. I have completely reworked the FX texture files to allow you to drop a number of yellow-clad smoke-jumpers in the traditional free-fall arch position from the DC-3, JU-52, DeHaviland Otter, and now the C-130. They now sport the modern parafoil chute rather than the older round canopy. Editing the included text insert (door location) for the aircraft.cfg file will allow them to jump from any other plane of your choosing as well. I no longer have FS2002 so was unable to test this with that FS version. I wish to thank Mr. Pierino Primavesi for his kind permission in allowing me to modify the FX files he made for his Luftwaffe version of the JU-52. Bora Bora Airport, French Polynesia, NTTB

File Description:
The Bora Bora airport is located on one of the Motus, which surround the Island of Bora Bora. The Motus are raised coral reefs which act as break waters, and create the beautiful turquoise lagoons which surround the French Polynesian Islands. This scenery is a complete remake of the original, and is now much more accurate as to what the airport looks like. It contains the main terminal, a fire station attached to the tower with fuel tanks, open air hangar structures, two helipads, and wood stairs taking you down to the boat docks where you are transported to the main island. This is one of the most unique French Polynesian Islands with it's beautiful and interesting mountain structure. Using the terrain mesh by Rolf Keibel and John Applegate will tremendously enhance this part of the world in FS. It is available at Flightsim under the name fpsimesh.zip. Afcad by Ray Smith is also included.

Franks Updated Scenery Items - Part 1

File Description:
These files contain GMAX designed scenery items for use in FS2004 utilizing the new FS2004 BGLComp SDK. The true inspiration for these designs comes from Frank Betts over at Franks Hangar (http://www.flightsimsetc.dhs.org/) who originally designed these items as macros for use with Airport and FSSC programs. Frank was gracious enough to allow me to redesign them in GMAX for use in FS2004 and beyond. While I may have taken some 'artistic license' on a few items, they are basically identical to those designed by Frank. Most use the identical textures designed with Franks macros, but a few additional custom textures were added. All files also contain the original GMAX source files, so if you feel the need to alter or improve the fies, please feel free to do so. All I ask is that you share your improvements with the FS world as freeware. This is Part 1 of a series of files that will eventually update all of Franks macros to GMAX files.

CFM International CFM56-7 v4

File Description:
New version of the popular Boeing 737NG soundset, this time exclusively re-built for Project Opensky 737-800. A few changes except the new cfg is a new interior spool sound, making it sound a alot more authentic to the real deal. Also new roll and wind sound to enhance the realism. I've also added the "hum" you can hear just before the spool kicks. In this verion you can hear it from cockpit as the exterior remains the same. I've also fixed the spool pitch because i noticed that in the earlier version the spool was a bit off. The POSKY 738 has very powerful engines and take-off thrust should be like 90%. I've built it after a Ryanair video by Christel Jenny Sinsen where i estimate the thrust being around 90%. This by far the most realistic CFM56-7 soundset today and are very close to the real thing. Exploring Mt Rainier Natl Park v1.1 UPDATE! Includes missing textures which resulted in some users experiencing CTD and freezes. A complete remapping of Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State. Based upon commercial topographic maps, the designed scenery includes, every hiking trail drawn in meticulous detail including every real life switchback; every lake and small alpine pond 20 feet in diameter and over, modified landclass of alpine, forest & rock; every perennial and many intermittent creeks, all steams and rivers (many braided), a complete glacier mapping of every glacier with custom textures and ice fields on the mountain, a complete mapping of all rock faces and rock, moraine rock deposits, glacier outwash area, mudflows, roads, swamp and marsh areas. "Himalayan Peaks" LOD10 Mesh, Volume 3 - Namcha Barwa

File Description:
Highly detailed terrain mesh of the Namcha Barwa area, N29°-31° E94°-96°. The files in this package are based on Shuttle Radar (SRTM) Version 2 data but with many of the void areas, especially the most significant sections, filled with elevation data generated from topographic maps by Jonathan de Ferranti. While Jonathan's work is unrelated to flight simulation he kindly gave me permission to compile his data for use in FS. The result is a wonderful improvement in detail and accuracy over any existing mesh file, freeware or commercial, based on SRTM or DTED data alone. Due to the large area of the Himalayas I've compiled the source data as two separate series: the "Himalayan Peaks" series covers prominent mountains and ranges in higher detail and locally overrides any existing LOD9 terrain mesh. In addition, a LOD9 "base mesh" series covering the entire Himalayas will be available for those who do not yet have an add-on terrain mesh of these beautiful mountains.
