| Haines Junction CYHT in Yukon Territory Canada |

File Description:
Haines Junction is a village in the Yukon Territory, Canada, amid the Rocky Mountains and around 80 miles west of Whitehorse. It is sited at the junction of the Haines Highway and the Alaska Highway, hence the name. The village was established in 1942 when the Alaska Highway was under construction, and the Haines Highway was built over the Chilkat Pass to connect to the town of Haines on the Alaska coast.
The date of this scenery is, as usual, around 2010. At that time there was a regular service (not always a daily one, depending on the time of year) by Yukon Air North, and in this case it is by an ATR 42-300. There is a helicopter company based at the airfield, Trans North Helicopters, and there is also Kluane Glacier Air Tours, which, as the name suggests, takes you to a glacier so you can stroll around on ice. And then brings you back. The gravel runway is 5,000 feet long and aligned 04-22, and is lit, with PAPI at both ends. Right hand circuits are required for runway 04 as the terrain is not flat.
This post will be followed by two other airfields to the northwest, Silver City and Burwash, both of which are on or close to the Alaska Highway.

| Kindley Field Bermuda 1955-1962 |

File Description:
Kindley Field, on the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, was built as a joint RAF/USAAF facility during the Second World War. Subsequently the RAF area became the civilian terminal while Kindley Air Force Base was operated by the USAF between 1948 and 1970. It was primarily a staging post between the US and Western Europe for land-based planes unable to cross the Atlantic non-stop, very like Ernest Harmon in Newfoundland and the civilian Gander, and like Harmon it closed when the jet age made such bases redundant. Prior to that it hosted no combat units, but the 59th and then 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadrons, the 'Hurricane Hunters', were based there, and also from 1 February 1956 to 15 June 1963 the 303rd ARS Stratotankers were present to support Strategic Air Command and other refueling requirements. After 1970 it became a US Navy facility primarily concerned with tracking Soviet submarines, and was closed at the end of the Cold War. This scenery represents Kindley between 1955 and 1962 and has custom made scenery by Dan French and ai military traffic by Al Von Pingel to add to the downloadable California Classic civilian and MATS traffic available at Tom Gibson's site. Like Harmon and Gander, it was one of the most important airfields of its time.

This is one of the oldest US Airlines that ceased operations but reburned 3rd times, this is the 4th time that this airline reborn as a charter airline called "Pan American World Airlines" known as "PanAm", the fleet only consists in 1 Boeing 757-23N Winglets with the registrations TF-FIC, operated by the Iceland airline "Icelandair". Pan American World Airways was an airline that was the principal and largest international air carrier and unofficial overseas flag carrier of the United States of America for much of the 20th century. The first airline to fly worldwide, it pioneered innovations such as jumbo jets and computerized reservation systems and introduced the first American Airline in 1958. Until its dissolution on December 4, 1991, Pan Am "epitomized the luxury and glamour of intercontinental travel", and it remains a cultural icon of the 20th century, identified by its blue globe logo ("The Blue Meatball"), the use of the word "Clipper" in its aircraft names and call signs, and the white uniform caps of its pilots.The model is Alpha India Group (AIG) Boeing 757-200 RR Basepack. | Gloster Meteor F8 RAAF A77-120 77th Squadron |

Gloster Meteor F8 A77-120 of the RAAF 77th Squadron deployed at Kimpo Air Base(K-14)in the Korean War.
77th Squadron started the war with a dotation of F-51D Mustangs based at Taegu(K-2)and was requipped
with the Meteor F8 in April 1951. First operational mission was flew the 30th July, 1951.
22th August was a bad day for the Squadron:A77-128 and A77-354 were lost in colission, both pilots
were reported KIA.
The fighters were tasked to flight CAP missions over MiG Alley and the 29th August was reported the
first lost in combat mission:A77-721(Warrant Officer Guthrie ,POW) was shot down by the KPAFAC MiG-15 flew by
Lev K. Shchukin(18 GIAP, 303 IAD), in the same mission A77-616(Squadron Leader Wilson) was heavy damaged by
N. V. Babonin also of the 18 GIAP, 303 IAD.The first MiG kill was obtained the 8th May 1952, one MiG-15 of the
PLAAF shot down by William H.Simmonds and the second and last the 23th March 1953 by George S.Hale ,another
MiG-15 of the PLAAF. This two are the only confirmed victories of the Meteors in the Korean War; no MiGs
were shot down in the sad day 1th December 1951; this day were lost A77-29(Sergent B.Thompson POW)shot down by
Serafim P. Subbotin(176 GIAP, 324 IAD),A77-251(Sergent V.Drummond POW) shot down by Sergei M. Kramarenko(176 GIAP, 324 IAD)
and A-77-949(Sergent E.Armitt KIA)by Sergei F. Vishnyakov(176 GIAP, 324 IAD); also heavy damaged A77-559
(Sergent Bill Middlemiss)by Pavel S. Milaushkin(176 GIAP, 324 IAD).V-VS not confirmed the kills of Flying Officer
B.Gogerly in the A77-17 or the shared between Scannel/THorton and Cadan.Actually not MiGs were lost this day by
the Russians or Chineses Air Forces(KPAFAC,V-VS and PLAAF).The first MiG-15 lost in December 1951 was shot down the
next day by Zane S. Amell(335 FIS, 4 FIW) with his USAF F-86A-5.
After this fiasco Meteors were assigned to ground attack, and A77-120 was lost in one of this missions shot down by
AAA in March, 1952. Pilot Sergent L. Cowper was captured and POW.
32 Meteors and pilots were lost in the Korean War( six were confirmed shot down by MiGs and others 5 possible writen off)
V-VS also confirmed another combat mission the 25th August 1951 and the shot down of two others Meteors flew by
Ronald Mitchell and Reg L. R. Lamb, destroyed by the MiGs of Nikolai V. Sutyagin and Grigorii I. Pulov(boths 17 IAP, 303 IAD),
but that was not confirmed by the RAAF to this day.
And for the results:4836 missions flew, 3700 building destroyed, 1500 Vehicles and two MiG-15.

The Boeing MD-11F aircraft, N604FE, named "Hollis" is based out of Memphis, TN and can fly both Domestic and International Routes. The MD-11F (53 built) are the Freight transport aircraft version and were the second variant on offer at launch in 1986, and was the last and longest (1988-2000) manufactured version. 22 MD-11F's were delivered between 1991 and 2001 to FedEx. According to Flight Aware, she flies mainly domestic routes daily. The aircraft is almost identical to the DC-10F, although BOEING modernized their model with a longer fuselage and more powerful engines, giving her a longer range and higher service ceiling. Most flights are at full payload, and those disclude the center long-range fuel tanks, and involve flights ranging between 2,000 and 4,500 nm. I've been dealing with several versions of this aircraft for many years, actually since the first offered on CompuServe for FS98 in the '90s, and through time have found many aerodynamic details that were required in order to make her fly realistically. The Internet slowly added the details I needed, and then came the testing. Needless to say, I've flown many versions, including this one, for way too many hours, and added and corrected things along the way. This version is the best I've ever done, and I've worked on her for about a year before this upload. Everything is aerodynamically correct, and the engines (and their placement) are beyond anything ever presented by anyone with anything like this previously. I even fixed the gear to be 100% authentic in placement and use. I tried to fix the lights, but the textures are from FS2004, so I did the best I could. I chose this aircraft because it is actually in service today, and because the painter did a great job in making her look authentic. She now flies in FSX just as she does in reality, but you are better advised to study this on your own, rather than take my word. Aircraft ratings by manufacturers are based on simple standards, and very conservative. FSX is a virtual “WIND TUNNEL†when realistic aerodynamics are employed, so we can see what aircraft are capable of if we do it all right. Sorry to say, no one ever builds a free aircraft for upload with the correct engine/aerodynamics employed. In fact, I don't think anyone, other than myself, has ever put that much effort into it. | Bethel PABE in southwest Alaska |

File Description:
There are four main northwestern Alaska towns which have good airports and are serviced by Alaska Airlines. From these airports local flights connect to nearby villages, "nearby" in Alaska meaning up to 200 miles away. The northernmost is Barrow. Southwest of Barrow is Kotzebue, then Nome, and the furthest south is this one, Bethel. The town of Bethel has a population of just over 6,000 and is 50 miles from the sea on the Kuskowim River, that splits and forks into many tributaries. Bethel Airport is close to the town and provides the only contact with the rest of Alaska, as there is no connecting highway system. There are scheduled flights by Alaska Airlines, ERA (now called Ravn) and Grant Aviation, plus others such as Ryan Air. There are cargo flights by Everts, Northern, and Lynden, and redistribution onwards to nearby villages by the smaller locally-based planes; all of these are included in the AI. There are two main runways, one just under 6,400 feet and another just under 3,900 feet, both of them aligned 19-1. The third runway is around 1,800 feet and mainly gravel, aligned 11-29. Parking at PABE is on three aprons, the northern for smaller commercial planes of Grant, ERA, Ryan etc, the central for larger planes of Alaska, Northern, Everts, and Lynden, and the southern for a large collection of GA; each apron has further hangars for maintenance companies and smaller operators. There is also another separate apron for the local military and Coastguard. There is not much photographic information available for PABE, and I have never been there; as a result it was impossible to make detailed photographic textures for some of the buildings. However, for most hangars I have made textures of at least the right colour etc based on the information I assembled and if it is green with white trim and side windows then that is how it now appears here. The exceptions are the Alaska Airlines terminal building which has complicated curved elements, and the two military hangars and workshops where I had to settle for an Alaska terminal building from another airport and the same for the military. There are numerous small villages in the vicinity of Bethel, all of them being beside either a river tributary or the coast. There are two Google Earth screenshots to show the villages that are served by the flights from Bethel and that are (mostly) included in the AI. Some of these airfields were not included in FS9 but AI will still operate in and out of Bethel. The smaller area screenshot shows the villages that are close to Bethel, and of these eight I have so far made six and they are included in this post: Napaskiak PKA, Napakiak WNA, Kwethluk KWT, Atmautluak 4A2, Nunapitchuk 16A, and Kasigluk Z09. I will work my way through the rest of the area.

The model B.737-341 is the original series 300 builded by Boeing for VARIG(17 exemplaires builded).VARIG fleet had differents variant of the Boeing 737'(B.737-2C3Adv,B.737-241,B.737-2K9,B.737-2Q8,B.737-219,B.737-33A,B.737-36N,B.737-3K9,B.737-341,B.737-3Q8,B.737-4YO,etc)and the planes are the workhorse of the route systeme of the airline.The main technical center is located a Rio de Janeiro Antonio
Carlos Jobim(Galeao)with the most big hangar maintenance in South America.
I have included a serie of 90 Flights to the main national and international destinations,all served with 737 and the timetable and numbers flights are the rights one of this year 2004.
Destinations are revised and actualised like in the reality(Curitiba,Porto Alegre, Ponte aereo=Rio Santos Dumont-Sao Paulo Congonhas,Recife,Salvador,La Paz,Cordoba,etc.
Many flights are corrected to be acomplished with the 737 and not the Douglas DC-10(out of service by VARIG long time ago and remplaced with the MD-11,this last also to be tasked in the future to fly only cargo).
Today only two DC-10 fly cargo services with VARIG Logistica.
Also included a new complete revised AirFile for the 737-300 type(17-04-04).

For Traffic 2004. TAROM ATR42-500 YR-ATG(C/N 605)ex F-WWLG. TAROM((Transporturile Aeriene Romane) is the official airline of Romania. His fleet after the restructuration in the early 90´s is today composed with
6 ATR-42-300 and 9 B.737-300 and 700 series(models B.737-38J,B.737-78J and one B.737-36Q).All 707´s and soviet types are now stored and out of service.The two A310 are in reserve and also out of service or saled the fleet of ROMBAC 1-11(BAC 1-11 build under licence by Romaero.The ATR´s are the subtitute for the olds BAC 1-11 and medium soviet types.TAROM ATR42 served national destinations(Cluj,Constanta,Tirgu Mures,Timisoara,Satu Mare,Oradea,Iasi,etc)and some others Internationals like Athens,Thessaloniki and Chisinau.TAROM main hub is located at Bucarest Otopeni Intl airport.The plane is very practical for landings in short and few prepared runways and his consum of only 204 gal/hour play a important factor in the economical explotation of the type by TAROM. I have included a serie of 64 TAROM flights, all served with the B.737-300´s and ATR42-500´s.
Also included a new complete revised AirFile for the ATR42-500 type(23-04-04)with the right engine power, consum,weight parameters,fuel,aerodynamics,etc for a right ATR42-500 model.

| F-5A Freedom Fighter 'Aegean Blue' Hellenic Air Force |

File Description:
This is a superb aircraft I used to fly as a Hellenic Air Force pilot. This is an "Aegean Blue" repaint flown in service of 343rd Squadron of Hellenic Air Force during the '90ties. The F-5 Freedom Fighter was a very succesfull aircraft during its 30 year carrer in HAF as a fighter, bomber, multy role aircraft until the early months 2001 when finaly released by active duty. This "F-5A_HAF_v1.zip" package is full compatible with FS2K2 and it contains sound, NEW (made by the author) panel, the official checklist (by Northrop) and a VERY completed flight manual which can be read with Adobe Acrobat.
This repaint was based on the original model made by Denis da Silva [email protected] & Daniel da Silva [email protected]. Using my 1800 hrs flight experience as a former F-5 pilot, I create (starting by "zero"...) a flight model ("air" file and aircraft.cfg file) and I test it to the limits to be sure that it flies like the real one and I can guarantee that! This "F-5A_HAF_v1.zip" package is for EXPERIENCED FlightSimers and virtual pilots who have a "good feeling" on the stick and do not fight with the contol stick while flying...Other words it is for people who want to know how the F-5A is realy flying!!
The package contains new visual effects, night lighting and the best looking mechanical parts movement, realistic gears extracting / retracting etc.

File Description:
The Skylab space station was launched May 14, 1973, from the NASA
Kennedy Space Center by a huge Saturn V launch vehicle, the moon
rocket of the Apollo Space Program. Sixty-three seconds after liftoff,
the meteoroid shield--designed also to shade Skylab's workshop
--deployed inadvertently. It was torn from the space station by
atmospheric drag. This event and its effects started a ten-day period
in which Skylab was beset with problems that had to be conquered
before the space station would be safe and habitable for the three
manned periods of its planned eight-month mission.

Epic repair mission which brought Skylab into working order. Included
such great moments as Conrad being flung through space by the whiplash
after heaving on the solar wing just as the debris constraining it
gave way; deployment of a lightweight solar shield, developed in
Houston in one week, which brought the temperatures down to tolerable
levels. With this flight US again took manned spaceflight duration
record.
