Adding NAV and ADF Radio Tuners - an Illustrated Tutorial

File Description:
Adding NAV and ADF Radio Tuners - an Illustrated Tutorial. This very brief Tutorial will show you how to add these navigational devices to virtually any aircraft - as a popup window. This is something you may wish to apply to Vintage craft as they seldom are so equipped. The default Piper Cub, which comes with a "handheld" radio, is used in the tutorial to demonstrate the concept. Only stock FS2004 gauges and radios are used so nothing else is required. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary location. The project was compiled in .doc format by David "Opa" Marshall and is based upon ideas and material provided by Mark Smith. Enjoy!

Inflight Music

File Description:
Inflight Music. Tested in FS2004 only. A simple addition to virtually any panel which allows the user to play their favorite music during those long and tedious flights. The display has eight programmable switches which will play MP3/WMA/WAV/MID files that are located anywhere on your computer - they do not have to be in your Sound directory. A windows explorer style interface allows you to select the proper music file which can be set to play once or loop and it allows you to set the volume. The guage I have used was written by R.L. Clark. His work is outstanding! A setup for the FS2004 default B737-400 panel is included along with all necessary files to allow you to add this to most other panels. Other uses could include Cabin Announcements. Unzip to a Temp directory (use folder names option) and follow the simple install instructions.

Pre FS2004 Reminder

File Description:
Pre FS2004 Reminder. FS Rule #1 - provide maximum computer resources for your Flight Simulator environment! If you are like me, too often I forget to close unnecessary programs before starting Flight Simulator. This little addon utility, in the form of a simple batch file, will bring up a reminder screen, allowing you to close other programs and allowing you time to do so before it starts Flight Simulator. The batch file uses an old MSDOS popup utility from the early 90's (by Robin Latham) which works just fine in Windows XP. This utility may be used in conjunction with Geoffrey Schreiber's fine Splash Screen Randomizer. Tested in Windows XP home edition and FS2004 only.

Tips and Tricks - Number 16

Images related to this file:

File Description: Tips and Tricks - Number 16. This issue has somewhat of an International flavor to it as several items we are reviewing have come to us from distant shores. Our readers have again provided a number of very useful Tips and recommendations. Also included are the usual assortment of "How-To's", links to useful sites, and much, much more. In addition, there is a "from the E-mailbag" department where we try to answer a question of general interest submitted by a reader. We have also included a little something for the "kids" (of all ages). Updated indexes by John Burford in .xls (Excel) and .pdf formats for the entire series are included. As usual, I have attempted to include something of value for everyone, regardless of your experience level. Compiled in .doc and .pdf formats for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.
