File Description:
Tok Junction is a village, or small town, on the Alaska Highway some 180 miles east of Fairbanks and 60 miles west of the Alaska-Canada border. The town is spread over a wide area on the flat terrain and barely registers among the trees, and as such is not shown in FS9 except as a grid of roads as there is no town terrain texture like it used in FS9. The airfield is at the eastern end of the town and adjacent to the Alaska Highway and I have included some surrounding houses, workshops, shops, lodges, etc. The single runway is 3,000 feet of 50 feet wide asphalt aligned 07-25 and lit. There is a small airline based on the airfield called 40-Mile Air. Their hangar is red and the name written large and 100LL fuel is available beside it at all times. Jet A-1 is available by a telephoned pre-arangement. They are, I believe, no longer flying scheduled flights but they do still function as an air taxi and they have a contract to deliver mail to surrounding villages that are not served by all-weather roads. The airfield now has a new icao "PFTO" but in FS9 it remains as the original FAA LID, 6K8. The FS9 roads are not accurately placed, and the grass airfield background is not really appropriate as the reality is more like gravel mixed with earth; it is however difficult to replicate this with the available textures and still prevent bushes or trees appearing. But, in the winter and with snow on the ground it looks as it should. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.

Spitfire Aerodrome Airport (7N7), NJ

File Description:
Located 02 miles S of Pedricktown, New Jersey on 48 acres of land, Spitfire Aerodrome Airport is a public asphalt single-strip field that allows transient craft to tie down on the apron. There are also helicopters based here on this field (note there is no Jet-A fuel available) so the helicopter start location will place you on the ramp.

Although this airport has a beacon, FSX for some reason does not include one with the stock airport file and I can't yet create rotating beacons so it is there and lit at night but does not rotate and is not as visible as the rotating ones. This will be addressed in a later update. Also take note of the layout of this airport, it requires that AI traffic cross the runway in order to taxi to either end for take off. AI aircraft DO NOT hold short when taxiing across runways (this is an FSX limitation), so use extreme caution on approach and departure to avoid any unfortunate runway incursions. Aircraft can fuel up by parking near the fuel truck beside the hangar south of the runway. If you have trouble locating the windsock, look on top of the hangar roof north of the runway. The crashed aircraft in the pond is fictional, there is a distinctive airplane-shaped object there in the satellite textures but I could not determine what this might be from aerial photos so I just crashed a plane there for kicks :)

Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 004. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

Sussex Airport (KFWN), NJ

File Description:
Located 01 miles SW of Sussex, New Jersey on 96 acres of land, Sussex Airport is a public asphalt strip 3515' in length. The airport is not in the best of condition and there are no markings on the taxiways. The taxiway south of the hangar towards the end of Runway 03 is closed indefinitely due to disrepair. You will have to back-taxi on the runway if you need more room to take off. Hangars and tiedowns are both available to aircraft with wingspans of 40' or less. Anything bigger will have to find a spot in the large empty area of the tarmac and make sure if you're starting out with something larger you start on the runway or in the one MEDIUM_GA parking spot. Hangar parking is identified by DOCK parking types. North Parking is located in the grass tiedown area and regular Parking is located on the main tarmac. South Parking is the one hangar towards the end of Runway 03. Jet-A fuel is available from parking in front of the fuel truck by the terminal building or in either of the hangar spots. Collision is disabled with all static aircraft to make it easier to park between them if you choose a tiedown instead of a hangar. REIL and approach lighting for Runway 03/12 are out of service indefinitely as is the approach lighting for Runway 03. The traffic pattern height has been changed to 1220' MSL (heavy aircraft use 1420'). Canadair CL-13 Mk 2 Sabre (F-86E) Royal Hellenic Air Force

File Description:
This is one of the first jet age aircrafts served in Royal Hellenic Air Force, almost 50 years ago (!!!). There are two repaint versions of Royal Hellenic Air Force in the zip package: The first one, represents a Royal Hellenic Air Force Canadair CL-13 Mark 2 Sabre used to fly with 342nd Sqdr. of Royal Hellenic Air Force (RHAF) in Elefsina, Greece with an interception role. The second, represents the aniversary "Alexander the Great" texture, painted in "patriotic" colours, by a gas station owner (!!!) in Thessaloniki - Greece after buying the aircraft (sn. 19294) as scrap and finaly display it as a memorial by his store. This specific aircraft used to fly with 343rd Sqdr. In Nea Anchialos, Greece. The Canadair CL-13 Mark 2 Sabre aircraft (Canadian build F-86E under North American licence) used to be one of the most succesfull aircrafts during the 50'ies and the Korean war. This "CL-13_RHAF_v1.zip" package is full compatible with FS2K2 and FS9 too and contains realistic sound made by Angelos Hatzikatakos, NEW (made by the author) panel, the official checklist and a VERY completed (as always...) flight manual (31 pages) which can be read with Adobe Acrobat. This repaint was based on the original model made by Rey Lopez . The primary panel was made by Ken Mitchell and modified by Nick Karatzides to look more realistic and closer to the Hellenic CL-13 Mk 2 cockpit. A total NEW flight model ("air" file and aircraft.cfg file) have been created by Nick Karatzides and and I test it hard, to ensure that it flies as close as possible like a real fighter! This "CL-13_RHAF_v1.zip" package is for EXPERIENCED FlightSimers and virtual pilots who have a "good feeling" on the stick and do not "kick" the contol stick while flying. The package contains new visual effects, night lighting, fine looking mechanical parts movement, contrails, realistic gears extracting / retracting etc. Repaint and stuff by Nick Karatzides.

KLGB Long Beach Airport - Modernized terminal

File Description:
The airport I chose is Long Beach Airport. This airport has been around for many years and has had everything from the Air Force One to the 787 Dreamliner land here! The airport is located between downtown Los Angeles and Orange County and offers a great landing for tourists that do not want to land in the fifth busiest airport in the world, Los Angeles International.

The reason why I decided to create this airport was because it is my home airport and I am located only about five miles from it. Also, there is no good freeware FSX scenery for this airport.

Features included!:

Hellenic Air Force Republic Aviation F-84F Thunderstreak

File Description:
This is one of the first jet age aircrafts served in Hellenic Air Force, almost 50 years ago (!!!). There are three (3) repaint versions of Royal Hellenic Air Force in the zip package: The first one, represents an F-84F, as placed in front of 113rd Wing's main entrance as a "gate guard monument". The aircraft was placed there during early '90ies and the idea was captured by Brigadier General Vlachandonis who used to be the 113rd Wing's commander at that time. The second, shows an F-84F, as it was painted from 1957 to 1967. The specific aircraft used to belong to 339th Sqdr.with a white-blue-white stripe painted close to the nose as a squadron's ID mark. Additionaly, the "Mighty Mouse" official Sqdr's badge was placed on the left part of fuselage, just behind the cockpit. The thrird repaint is representing an F-84F, as it was painted from 1971, until the "retirement" on 1984. The aircraft which is presented into this "VietNam typed" repaint version used to belong to 338th Sqdr. operating from Larisa AB. This "F84F_HAF.zip" package is full compatible with FS2K2 and FS9 too and contains realistic sound made by Angelos Hatzikatakos, new panel made by Nick Karatzides, helpfull checklist and a VERY completed (as always...) flight manual (46 pages) which can be read with Adobe Acrobat. This repaint was based on the original model made by Kazunori Ito. A total NEW flight model ("air" file and aircraft.cfg file) have been created by Nick Karatzides and have been tested hard, to ensure that the aircraft flies as close as possible like a real fighter! This "F84F_HAF.zip" package is for EXPERIENCED FlightSimers and virtual pilots who have a "good feeling" on the stick and do not "kick" the contol stick while flying. Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos (DNMM) Version 2

Hi again fellow simmers.... This is an major update to my previous AFCAD on this famous West African airport. Here are all its features: - ILS offset fixed as well as some smaller details, like the fact that rwys 1L/1R are permanently closed to take-off and landings. - Corrected runway lightings/markings. - DME on Rwy 19R now working. - Right Hand Pattern Approach/Take-off only. - Added correct amount of gates at the International Terminal with parking codes for airlines that actually fly to DNMM (British Airways, Air France, KLM, Alitalia, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Nigeria, Sabena, Swiss, Afriqiya, Emirates, Qatar Airways, South African Airways and more). - Domestic Terminal fully laid out and functional with domestic airline parkinting codes (Albarka, Chanchangi, ADC, Belleview, Kabo Air, etc). - Cargo parking fully functional. - Military parking (C130, MiG-21, MiG-29, Alpha Jet, Jaguar, Tornado). To Install: 1. DELETE THE PREVIOUS 'AF2_DNMM.BGL' file from the 'Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery' folder. 2. Extract all files from the downloaded '.zip' file. 3. Now COPY the NEW 'AF2_DNMM.BGL' file and place it into 'Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery' folder. 4. Start up the Flight sim and the changes will be present. READ THIS !!! I've tried to the best of my ability to produce and much detail as possible but i'm sure something has been left out (there always is). I've used the latest Jeppesen charts and other materials at my disposal and even my own eyesight at great risk to myself (yep, even pilots are restricted from certain places at airports) Also, lots of airports have changed drasticly on the past couple years like Abuja airport (DNAA) and I would love to do justice to it as its fast becoming a major hub in the region. RNAS Henstridge (HMS Dipper)

File Description:
Royal Naval Air Station Henstridge or RNAS Henstridge (HMS Dipper) is a former Fleet Air Arm base located 7 miles (11 km) west of Shaftesbury, Dorset (Now Somerset) and 12.4 miles (20.0 km) east of Yeovil, Somerset in South West England.

The main part of the land (355 acres) was purchased in August 1941, after which building of the airfield and the marsh lane accommodation site commenced, it was commissioned on April 1, 1943 as HMS Dipper, principally as number 2 naval fighter school, on the 11th September 1942, another 18 acres was acquired at the adjoining gibbs marsh area for an aircraft repair and maintenance site. The design and lay-out of the airfield was quite unique, having 5 runways, 2 of these being east west lay-out (07-25) both 1000 yards long, the northern runway incorporated a dummy deck landing strip, complete with under-ground arresting gear with four above ground arrestor wires, which was a duplicate of that installed on HMS Implacable for training of aircraft carrier landings, these mainly being carried out with the Seafire, a naval version of the spitfire with folding wings. The site also had its own cinema and stage hall

March 1952 the airfield became inactive and was placed under care and maintenance, during 1953 Air whaling (now Bristow group) used the facilities for repairs to the whaling fleet of helicopters until moving out in June 1958.June 1957 it was finally closed as a naval establishment, from 1958-1960 the entire site was sold off. 27 June 1980 the BBC purchased the whole site and applied for planning permission to erect at the airfield a shortwave radio station consisting of 21 self-supporting towers holding aerial arrays and ancillary buildings on a 300-acre site. The station would transmit overseas radio services to Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union and perhaps South America the application failed and the BBC sold the land during January 1987 The airfield is also the home of the wessex strut, a general aviation club formed in January 1977, which holds an annual fly in and other events their first fly-in was on 17 April 1977 and attracted 107 aircraft. As of today the only usable runway is the north 07-25 runway, extant with the concrete dummy deck, and the underground machinery chamber, it is also the home to a large number of light aviation enthusiasts aircraft as well as the Yakolevs aerobatic display team and the Dorset and Somerset air ambulance

The current airfield is operated by EGHS and is an unlicensed airfield. The only usable runway is 07/25 tarmac/concrete 750 mts long x 6 mtr wide. Henstridge radio can be contacted on 130.250 MHz, it can be found at the south eastern stub of the Yeovilton MATZ

Douglas C-54 (VH-PAF) Pacific Air Freighters

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Douglas C-54 / DC-4 by Flight Replicas. It shows Douglas DC-4 VH-PAF in the colors of Pacific Air Freighters. VH-Paf was originally delivered new to the USAAF as 44-9126 on May 14, 1945. It transferred to the USAF in 1947 and was Withdrawn from service and stored at Davis Montahan, Arizona - December 1971. She was sold to Dross Metals in 1975 and entered onto the United States Aircraft Register as N9013V.She then flew for several companies in the US until she was seized by Bahamas authorities for alleged smuggling activities in April 1981. She was sold again, among others flying for Lynch Air Tankers Inc, Billings, Montana between 1984 and 1995 as 'City of Billings'. She then went to Australia with Pacific Air Freighters Pty Ltd, arriving in Cairns on completion of the ferry flight to Australia in June 1995. The ferry route was Chino - Hilo - Majuro - Honiara - Cairns, the first leg of this ferry flight took 14 hours. On arrival at Majuro some problems associated with Number 2 engine were worked on before departing for Honiara. During this leg Number 2 engine began to play up so it was shut down in flight. As the problem could not be rectified it was decided to carry on to Cairns as planned on three engines. She was ferried Cairns - Brisbane (Archerfield) on three engines in june 1995 and entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-PAF on January 31, 1996 She commenced long term contract with Goroka Air Service, Papua New Guinea - October 14, 1996. Returned to Brisbane after 3 months and placed in open storage and sold at auction to Airfreighters International P/L - May 22, 1997. Services were flown under the name of Pacific Air Freighters. Chartered by Ansett Australia Cargo for service Brisbane - Darwin - September 15, 2000. She was then sold to Historical Aviation Restoration Society Inc and ferried to Brisbane - Albion Park Regional Airport, where she was reregistered as VH-EAY - June 23, 2008. At present, she is undergoing complete overhaul for return to airworthy condition. A repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Flight Replicas.
