EGXJ - RAF Cottesmore - Rutland, England

File Description:
RAF Cottesmore (ICAO EGXJ) is a former Royal Air Force station in Rutland, England, situated between Cottesmore and Market Overton.

The Stationed opened on 11 March 1938 and was used mainly for training, and the first squadrons were equipped with Vickers Wellesley aircraft, but soon converted to Fairey Battles. Later RAF Bomber Command took over the airfield, again as a training station, flying Handley Page Hampdens. These units remained in residence until a few days before the outbreak of war in 1939 when they were sent to RAF Cranfield to serve as a pool providing replacements for combat losses. Their place at Cottesmore was taken by Nos. 106 and 185 Squadrons, moving in from RAF Thornaby with Hampdens. However, with the outbreak of war, the aircraft and crews were sent to locations in the north and west, as enemy air attacks were expected over the southern half of England. As these never materialised, the Hampdens returned in the spring of 1940 and No. 185 Squadron became the Hampden operational training unit, No. 14 Operational Training Unit RAF.

RAF Cottesmore's Hampdens' first trespass into hostile airspace was a leaflet dropping operation over northern France. In October 1940, 106 Squadron moved to RAF Finningley while No. 14 OTU remained training crews for Bomber Command, its Hampdens and HP.53 Herefords being replaced by Vickers Wellingtons in 1942. Training continued for three years and three months until August 1943 when No. 14 OTU moved to RAF Market Harborough.

In early December 2009, it was announced the station would close due to funding cut-backs, in part to help pay for additional helicopters for British operations in Afghanistan.
In 2010, No. 4 Squadron RAF disbanded, with No. 20 Squadron RAF re-badging as No 4 (Reserve) Squadron.
The station became a satellite to RAF Wittering on 31 March 2011 with a civic parade and flypast to mark the disbandment of No 1 Sqn RAF, 800 NAS, 801 NAS and JFH.
In July 2011 Defence Secretary Liam Fox announced plans for it to be the airfield for one of five of the Army's Multi-Role Brigades. In April 2012 it was renamed Kendrew Barracks after Major General Sir Douglas Kendrew.

Força Aeraunáutica Brasileira Republic P-47-D

File Description:
FS 2004-2002 Republic P-47-D FAB (Força Aeraunáutica Brasileira) -- This texture was made by Jean-Claude Pistoresi ‘Mangueira’ in 2006 for the original model by J R Lucariny (http://lucariny.sites.uol.com.br). Thanks to the author for his permission. -- This painting is in a honor to Fernando Correa Rocha, ex-member of 1st Grupo de Aviação de Caça (1° GavCA) during the World war II. Then 2e tenente-aviador Rocha, he was pilot in the famous "Senta a Pua" and took part in the Italian sky to 75 missions of attack against the forces of the Axis. This plane, Republic P-47D-25-RE "FAB4109", recently restored, belongs to the Fundação Santos-Dumont (São Paulo - Brazil) -- The original model by J R Lucariny is necessary to use this FAB repaint.

California Central Coast Scenery with Ultimate Terrain USA

File Description:
This is a complete revision to California Central Coast Scenery CCCOASTU.ZIP that was uploaded 9/13/05. This revision involves most of the files and replaces CCCOASTU.ZIP in it's entirety so the original version of CCCOASTU and it's Revisions 1 and 2 or any other versions of my CCC scenery are NOT required.

The primary goal for this revision was to replace as many API objects and effects as possible with XML/MDL library objects. The original intent for making these conversions was to begin to prepare for the FSX version of CCC scenery if that becomes practical. Because I also made several improvements and fixes during that process and because performance was improved due to use of object libraries I realized it might be appropriate to upload the results as a revision.

Ground Texture Upgrade

File Description:
These new textures for FSX enhance your defualt ground airport textures. This package contains all new high detailed taxiway textures, ground textures, and all new taxiway line textures. The new ground textures give a more realistic illusion of rocks, grass, etc. Autogen as well as taxiways, will now look more realistice and "in place"since they are no longer over a low resolution detail 1.bmp file. The new taxiway line textures ( or taxilines as I call them) make your defualt taxilines look even more realistic. Now you will see enviromental weathering effects such as cracks and holes on the taxiline paint. And finally, the new taxiway textures upgrade the defualt FSX ones. Every detail, crack, and pebble was carefully analyzed and created with the aid of hi-res sources.

Italian Air Force Lockeed P-38 / F-5E

File Description:
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was one of the most prominent fighters throughout WWII in both major theaters of operation. The L was also the only series to be produced under contract by a different manufacturer than Lockheed. In all, nearly 4,000 P-38L's were made, making it the most numerous variant. Many of these were converted to F-5 Photo Lightnings. The Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare Italiana) received from U.S.A.A.F., after the war's end, several used P-38 in various version (L / J / F-5), but many aircrafts were bought as 'metal' from U.S.A.A.F's scraps by A.M.I. and 'heroically' restored in flight condition by Italian technicians. Textures only for a P-38 / F-5E, in 'A.M.I. 3rd Stormo' livery for payware 'Sky Unlimited Lockheed Aircraft P38 Vol.1'. Repaint by Manuele Villa.

Royal Italian Air Force Lockeed P-38J

File Description:
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was one of the most prominent fighters throughout WWII in both major theaters of operation. P-38s scored some of the first victories in the Pacific Theater. In Europe, they often provided high-altitude long range escorts for bombers. A P-38 was captured by the Italians on 12th June 1943 after a mistaken landing in Capoterra airport (Cagliari, Sardinia). After a while, with 'Regia Aeronautica's insignas (Royal Italian Air Force), it was flown by Colonel Angelo Tondi in a fighter mission over Torvajanica (Rome), where a B-24 was shotted down. The aircraft was finally grounded due to the damages caused by Italian fuel to the tanks.Textures only in 'Regia Aeronautica' livery for payware 'Sky Unlimited Lockheed Aircraft P38 Vol.1'. Alaska Airlines McDonnell Douglas Super 80

File Description:
N979AS (cn 53471/2139), version 1. Alaska Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-83 for the Super 80 CLASSIC version only!! Sadly, Alaska Airlines phased out their Maddog's and today (the 24th of August 2008), their last 4 MD's operate the last revenue flight for the company. This particular plane has a screwdriver tail so this livery was originally created for the recently released Super80 PRO package. With some minor adjustments we were able to convert it for usage with the CLASSIC version as well. Custom specular and normal mapping and as always : worn, torn, weathered and (a little) dirty. Screenshots are unedited. Installation is easy ; just use the repaintmanager. Coolsky / Flight1 Super 80 Classic package required.
