Fuerza Aerea Venezolana North American B-25J Mitchell, FAV-6A40

File Description:
Fuerza Aerea Venezolana N.A.B-25J-25 Mitchell FAV-6A40 of the Escuadrón de Bombardeo No.40. A first batch of 3 planes were taked in charge the 08/28/47 followed by 12 more planes in 1949. Others 11 planes were received between 1950-1952. A last batch was taked in charge by 1963 with 11 planes of the RCAF. The planes were operated in actions with the "Porteñazo" and "Carupanazo" by 1960 and also utilized in the surveillance missions over The Monjes islands. This planes were operated from the Base Aérea Tte. Vicente Landaeta Gil, Barquisimeto,Edo.Lara and retired in 1973 after requipment with Rockwell OV-10E Broncos. Model by the MAAM team, Bill Ranbow, Jan Visser, Fred Banting and Rob Young. Repainted by Daniel Nole. In order to use these textures, you must already have the MAAM-SIM payware B-25J 'Briefing Time' installed in your FS2004 aircraft folder.

B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2270

File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2270, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #2. Pilot: Lt. Travis Hoover, Co-Pilot: Lt. William N. Fitzhugh, Navigator: Lt. Carl R. Wildner, Bombardier: Lt. Richard E. Miller, Flight Engineer/Gunner: Sgt. Douglas V. Radney. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Although little physical damage was inflicted on Japan, that day, the Japanese populace was demoralized, as suddenly, the war was brought to their homeland. Texture, and Damage Files included. Wings Of Power B-17's of the 385th BG

File Description:
FS2004 texture sets only of the excellent Wings Of Power B-17. A set of 2 historic aircraft from the 385th Bomb Group based in Great Ashfield, UK with the names "Ole Doodle Bug" and "Lil’ Audrey". These paints were made specifically to be used as AI traffic for Cees Donkers airfield of the 385th. You must own the "Wings Of Power Heavy Bombers and Jets" add on by Shockwave for FS2004 to use these files. Repaints by Chuck Lawsen

USAAF B-24D 90th BG 5th AAF Not in Stock

File Description:
This B-24D-130-CO 42-41077 was produced at the Consolidated plant in San Diego. It was assigned to the 400th Bomb Sqdn, 90th Bomb Group, 5th AAF. It flew out of the Iron Range and Fenton Field in Australia. Its scheme is typical of early war deployment of the 90th BG. At a later point in its career, it was fitted with a nose turret from the modification center at Townsville. Textures only, requires the original PAYWARE Alpha-Sim aircraft.

"Net Results" 44-4875 was a B-24M-5-CO which came off the production lines of Consolidated, San Diego in October, 1944. After going through modification centers in Tucson, AZ, it was flown to Nadzab, New Guinea. From there it was assigned to the 528th Bomb Squadron, 380th Bomb Group, 5th AAF on Mindoro in the Philippines. M/Sgt Perry Blanchard was its crew chief, maintaining the aircraft through 59 missions and to war's end. The ship was a "Raven" H2X radar ship. Textures only. Requires the PAYWARE Alpha Sim aircraft.

USAAF B-24D "Kate Smith" 98th Bomb Group, 9th AAF

File Description:
"Kate Smith" 42-40991 was a B-24D-120-CO which came off the production lines of Consolidated, San Diego. The art work depicts American Singer Kate Smith's theme song, "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain". This ship was flown by the 1Lt James A Deeds to Ploesti on August 1, 1943. While taking part in the disasterous 98th BG attack on the Astra Romana-Phoenix Orion refinery complex, it took a direct hit in the cockpit area over the target at an estimated 250 ft of altitude. The aircraft caught fire in the bomb bay area and exploded mid-air. Miraculously, the copilot, 2Lt Clifton Foster was blown clear of the disintergrating aircraft and was able to open his parachute. Taken prisoner, he was the only survivor of the ten man crew.
