Twin Cities Sectional Chart Chunks for Aerosoft's FSMap

File Description:
Sectional chart chunks made from the August 2009 Sectional charts at the original scale, formatted in the WGS84 lat/long geographic coordinate system for the FSMap, moving map application for flight simulation use. The chart chunks are the full sectional divided by 2 tiles (east/west) and converted from the geotiffs to baseline 8bit tiffs with packbit compression applied, not for size but for efficiency. The images are about 6,000x6,000 pixels at about 25mb each, also included is the FSMap fsm Calibration file for importing. **Note: The files in this download are the largest of the split sectionals, 6,000x7,000 due to the Lake of the Woods region extending the northern border. These should work in the gauge just fine, having tested the full sectional area tiff that is 12,000x7,000 at 60mb in size in the gauge the only difference was that the zoom in was limited to 10nm with these larger images (see the notes in the zip file).

Castle Kennedy Airport ERAF, Stranraer, Scotland Version 2

File Description:
VERSION 2 Castle Kennedy Airport ERAF, Stranraer, Scotland The original version uploaded on 13 Mar 2011 was out of scale. Sorry my mistake! If you downloaded it please download this version to overwrite. Castle Kennedy airfield was RAF 57MU during WWII. Today it is currently used by private flyers. FSX does not have a default AFCAD for this small airport. I have called it ERAF. Afcad prepared using ADE9X. Afcad prepared from Google image and uses generic objects which only approximate the actual. The comms Tower frequency is arbitary, not actual, and has been added to allow for traffic. A traffic file is included for optional use, for flights between ERAF and a default FSX airport nearby, EGOY, West Freugh. To make EGOY available for traffic, I have prepared a new AFCAD for EGOY from the default one with added taxiways (located as per Google map) and I have also added parking.

RAF Manston 1944

File Description:
RAF Manston (ICAO EGMH)was an RAF station in the north-east of Kent, on the Isle of Thanet from 1916 until 1996. The site is now split between a commercial airport Kent International Airport (KIA) and a continuing military use by the Defence Fire Training and Development Centre (DFTDC), following on from a long-standing training facility for RAF firefighters at the Manston base. Source: Wikipedia I have represented it here in 1944 leading up to its part in Operation Market garden and D Day. It was one of the few airfields installed with the Fog Investigation Dispersal Organisation (FIDO) system designed to remove fog from airfields by burning it off with petrol and I have represented this with the 8 fuel tanks at the 29 end of the mail runway. I have laid the station out roughly according to an old map made in the mid 40s but I make no claims to the accuracy of building I have used.

Las Vegas Sectional Chart

File Description:
If you plan a virtual flight to some of the States´ most beautiful National Parks, this chart is for you. The 5300*4200 pixel chart merges the front and back of the Las Vegas sectional and covers Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, Lake Mead, Marble Canyon... The desert states have a lot to offer! Take off from Richard "Georender" Goldstein´s Escalante and aim for Hurricane, at Bryce Canyon (KBCE) you may have a soft drink and practice high altitude take-offs and landings. While it can be used "as is" without any other software, it will develop its full potential if used as moving map with SimSystem´s FSFlightMax or FSGarmin. Albuquerque Sectional Chart

File Description:
Fly eastbound from Phoenix and visit Area 51 and Roswell (where SETI was "born"), Alamogordo, White Sands National Monument, Trinity Site (where the Manhattan Project tested the first nuclear device), Albuquerque (the state´s capital city), Lincoln County (where Billy the Kid was shot), the Mescalero Reservation (great skiing at Sierra Blanca south of the White Mountain Wilderness Area) and Capitan, Birthplace of Smokey the Bear. Flying VFR in this kind of countryside isn´t easy, as there aren´t all that many landmarks to rely on. Maybe this chart is of some assistance to you. You may use it "as is" without any other software, but it will develop its full potential if used as moving map with SimSystem´s FSFlightMax or FSGarmin. Henschel Hs P87

File Description:
Henschel Hsp 87 For FS2004 ( FS2002 ) The aircraft is based on Henschel's design for a fast bomber to be powered by a single Daimler Benz DB 610 engine. A "Entenbauform" (built like a duck) design was used, with the tail in front and the wing to the rear. Vertical fins were located at the wingtips. The cockpit was in the forward fuselage with accomodations for a crew of two. The prototype construction was not begun, and the further development of tail-first aircraft was not pursued due to lengthy development time and design cost. This version was designed using GMAX it is fully animated with a dynamic VC, glass effects on the 3D gauges, folding map, opening canopy, lights, gauge lighting, opening canopy e.t.c.The zip file contains two models each with a different VC and five repaints are available. The aircraft is best flown using the DVC. Modified gauges included in zip file.

SanFran expansion Toolkit

File Description:
Conversion of the SanFran Region from .cpd to .bin for FU3 This experimental toolkit is for region builders, its not a new full game ! If you want expand the region with new material to the north and the east then conversion to .bin is a must. Do not convert if you don't plan to expand or modify texture of the tiles. Then the only results are a larger game folder :-( The quality of the original tiles will not change ! The SanFran region is converted from 10x11 tiles area into a 16x16 tiles area but no new tiles are made north or east as sample, so a lot of tiles are then still missing and replaced by the blank tile (new full water tile). Elevation is not touched by this installation. After conversion you can use aireal pictures from map services to upgrade somes tiles of this area or even create new for the north-east.

Southeast Farallon Islands Version 3

File Description:
Complete download: Surf height fix. Also new island texture map. These islands were mysteriously absent from the FS2004 default scenery, probably owing to their small size. When I went to look for them I found a small mountain of water instead of the islands. Most people don't seem to be aware of the Farallon Islands. Located off the coast of California, near San Francisco, they are home to thousands of birds, seals, and some of the largest Great White sharks known to man. All of this is within a very short distance of the city. Today, it is a wildlife refuge and is off limits to visitation by the general public. Those of you interested in more info might check out "The Devil's Teeth" by Susan Casey. This island is actually a scenery object. As such it doesn't have a landable surface. Future versions will have a helicopter pad, a lighthouse, and the 100 year old houses used by researchers.
